He tells you the essay(where the most points are) questions on his test a week before hand...plus he is super hot....but married.
Very fun, personable, intelligent, helpful. Wants us to learn and not be bored. Hard work, but interesting topic.
He's a great professor. He loves to talk a lot about cognition and sexuality. He helps out a lot if you need help. READ for his class, and be attentive for little hints for the tests. He gives possible essay questions for the test during class. Go to class!
Well obviously the matieral can be hard, but if you are going to take a psych class, take Stasio. He's very clear and precise! The tests are long, but not too difficult. It is easy to get an A as long as you keep up with the readings, attend class, and pay attention to his lectures cause he gives hi
His class is semi hard if you don't do the reading. But he really wants his students to learn and he wants to make the info fun to learn (tho it is completely boring) His tests are kinda hard but not as bad as some. Just pay attention in his class and you'll be fine.
good teacher, knows his stuff, knows how to not make the class boring, and it helps that hes easy on the eyes (but hes like 40 and hes married lol)... but aside from that he really is a good teacher!
Don't get me wrong, you sit in class and are like yea I get it, then you get your grade and you are like oh ok, I suck. He isn't very helpful, he will make you think he is gonna help you and then judge you for things you don't understand.
Too hard for me, but thats mainly because I dont get math, I really dont think I can blame the dude for that. Def. a really nice guy who tried to help me as much as he could before I dropped it..and yes def. hot!
For starters, he's way too hot to be a teacher. lol. No, but seriously he's an amazing teacher that is obviously interested in his students. Attend class, and read ahead. If you do.. u should easilly be able to get an A.
Very good professor. But, you must do your part and read the material as well. Puts things into perspective and is willing to lend a helping hand at anytime.
you're the man Mike!!!
Seriously, does the man know that black shoes and brown belts DO NOT work together? THat has nothing to do with his teaching...he's ok, difficult, somewhat interesting and actually a pretty nice guy.
Class was always interesting and well prepared. He was a good teacher and always willing to help.
Stasio is the best professor I'v had at UT. The material is interesting and he makes it even more fun to learn...Great personality, very helpful, I believe everyone should take atleast one class with him
He's the best! Really helpful, and the first prof. I've had that truly wants you to do well. He'll help in any way he can, he makes stat. as interesting as it can be, he even says it's boring! I love him!
This professor is terrible. I don't know why other people have said he is good. He is very difficult, teaches at graduate level, does not allow makeups, only has 4 exams, there is no opportunity to raise your grade. He is not understanding and will not provide notes on blackboard. Lectures the entire time, will not answer questions. SAVE YOUR MONEY
Dr. Stasio takes weeks to return assignments and tests. On final exam day over 40% of our grade was still not determined. Stasio offers little help to students. He comes to class late and does not put his powerpoints online. Professor recycles exams and does not let you keep them. He does not care about his students. Avoid at all costs.
Stasio is a Bo$$!
Stats isn't easy but Dr. Stasio is one of the best professors UT has to offer. I would definitely take him again given the opportunity.
In-class activities are most effective, Dr. Stasio interacts w the students a lot giving positive reinforcement and encouragement (YOU SHOULD GO TO CLASS!). The text is huge and requires a lot of reading, but provides additional information that we need to know. I dislike math of any kind, but this course seemed to be easier than I expected.
For a senior capstone class, he definitely makes you work. Other professors are more laid back about this class, but he assigns a lot of reading and papers. Not a very fun senior class. Not the most interesting professor neither.
Stasio was a nice guy, but a difficult professor. His tests cover a lottttt of material; a combination of lecture and textbook readings so it was hard to study. Probably could get a better grade for this class with another professor.
He is very helpful and super nice but the class is so boring. He never lets you out early, which made it even worse. Get ready for one long semester.
Helpful professor, knowledgable, exams can be tough, must read material before class to get a better understanding of the course material, pay close attention to lectures, class is some what long, but he wants to ensure the material is available to the students or at least be discussed in class, ask questions it'll be an advantage for you.
Very clear cut professor. He will have some fun with the class and his lectures though. He is not always so serious however you will always know what he expects from you in this course. Overall if you read like you should, which is not that much, and properly pay attention- you will do well and enjoy this course.
Dr. Stasio is very inspiring. His lectures are captivating even on boring topics. He cares about his students and allows students to feel comfortable asking questions. This is college- you have to read before class, pay attention in class, and study outside of class.
his lectures were good and never very boring. overall a great professor. my only issue is that the tests cover alot of material, and if you dont study the right material youre screwed. i studied close to 20 hours per test and still seemed to miss some material. doesnt curve either. but offers alot of extra credit.
Stasio is the most understanding professor I have ever had. He answers every question by letting us know how much he appreciates student feedback. The multiple choice on the exams come directly from the book and essays are on class notes. Few Homework assignments. Also always goes over homework and tests in detail. Truly a sweetheart.
Such a caring professor. He truly cares about every student and wants them to succeed. He doesn't take attendance but if u skip class u miss A LOT. Exams are very hard
Stay clear of this professor super boring, not really sure he knows how to teach a class
Worst professor I've ever had. Lectures are useless since exams only come from the textbook. I read and still did bad because it's impossible to read 80 pages and remember the slightest detail for one of the MC. stay clear of stasio
Most boring professor I've ever had. Had him for assessment and it was like watching paint dry. Take this professor if u want to barely pass. Had no clue what my gpa ways because grades don't go in until the very last second
Dr. Stasio is my favorite professor within the psych department so I was incredibly surprised to see these negative comments. I find his lectures truly prepare you for the test. You'll know what will be on the test if you pay attention. Hes also and incred0ibly nice person. He never makes you feel stupid. (Psy 201 is just boring material
hes a sweetheart, the short answer questions on the exams are the only unsettling thing about the class
I would avoid him if you could. He reads off the lecture slides and doesn't post them so you have to copy them all. He expects you to read the entire book for exams but won't tell you what you actually need to read. He lectures like you are in middle school, and will give a break even when people express they would rather get out early.
He makes classes engaging, however the tests are difficult for a 100 level class. Your grade is only on tests and quiz's. If you miss a class you'll miss whats on the test and he doesn't post lecture notes on blackboard. He is friendly and approachable
Stasio is an amazing professor, he cares about you. His exams are hard and you really need to read the textbook but he is very clear with his grading criteria and is an amazing professor overall. Take him.
Stasio is a sweetheart. He answers students questions/comments by saying how much he appreciates it. He is very clear and truly pro-student. He is super accessible outside of class and encourages you to go and ask him any questions. If you read the book, you will definitely get an A on his class. I love him and would definitely take again.
Lots of work after class, the instruction provided is not clear.
Stasio is super sweet and nice, but the class is so bone dry that it is so boring to sit through. Students have to write everything down since nothing is posted, but tbh you might as well just read the book because all exam content comes from there, barely any from the notes.
Dr. Stasio is an incredible psychology professor! He is certainly very passionate about his work and actively engages with the class during lectures. He is funny and provides exam study guides, which really help! Show up to class, read your textbook, take notes, and you'll do fine in this class.
Dr. Stasio is so sweet and very passionate about psych. This is definitely a course where you have to work your butt off and read the textbook in and out till you have everything memorized. Does not post slides after class so you have to come to class to get the notes. Exams are pretty difficult but is willing to help you if you need it!
His lectures can be a little boring at times but he talks about some really interesting things. Tests are all based on his lectures and the textbook so focus on those and your fine. If you reach out to him for whatever reason, he's very understanding and will help you. Not the easiest teacher, but really not that hard either.
Stasio is very lecture-dependent and his tests were very difficult. He is not a bad professor or has anything negative about him but his class was a lot to handle. Most of the time his test questions did not align with the study guide material. His tests were more based on understanding the concepts which was not an easy thing for me to grasp.
Just took an exam for his class and it was one of the worst multiple choice tests I've taken. He says he is not trying to trick students, but then chooses questions that are particurally difficult. The things discussed in class barely help with the test. Chapters in textbook are very long, and the terms asked on the test were barely mentioned.
He is a nice guy himself however is very monotone and his tests are around 23% of your overall grade and there 4 of them and 50 trick question multiple choice questions.
Very nice guy. He has a good heart, but lord are his exams brutal. There's a lot of material on there that doesn't get covered in class, and the questions and answers are worded in a tricky way. Your majority grade will be the 4 exams and the essay. There are smaller assignments like case study responses and other types of responses. It's hard.
Stasio is a VERY intelligent person and has plenty of background knowledge on the subject matter. I really enjoyed this class, however if you are not a PSY major, I could see this course being a bit difficult. It is lecture heavy, but you do get a break after the first hour or so and he is always willing to stop and help you before moving forward.
Dr. Stasio is very friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable about psychology. He is always willing to answer questions in class and via email. You have to go into this class understanding that you MUST read the textbook; if you are not willing or prepared to read then you will struggle. Overall an easy A as long as you put in the necessary work.
stasio is an amazing professor. he is so smart and well spoken. he KNOWS what he's talking about. pay attention in class and you'll do just fine. lectures are fun, always have a lil class discussion and takes 10 min break in the middle of class. exams are hard if you don't study. take good notes in class.
I enjoy this professor's teaching style and communication, it is always clear what is expected of you. My only complaint is that he speaks in a monotone voice so lecture can get pretty boring.
we were only graded but 3 exams, so if you fail one you arent going to do so well. i had "extra help" with exams ;) since they were online at the time, and still couldnt do the best... and im an A student usually.
Mr. Stasio is a solid teacher but nothing crazy. His class is similar every time where he will give notes for one half and talk about something relating to it for the other. It is an easy class to pass but you have to make sure you prepare for tests as if you don't then you will 100% NOT PASS. But as long as you study and get work done you'll pass
Professor Stasio is a decent professor. There is a lot of reading to do. A lot of exams and if you want to pass them MAKE SURE YOU READ THE TEXTBOOK. Class is very boring and long lectures. He reads off of the PowerPoints. Sometimes makes you stay for the entire class. Gives one 10 minute break.
You need the original text book to do assignments so trying to rent or buy a cheaper one ends up being a waste of time. Reading the textbook is essential to do well on tests, but if you do youll be fine. He also curves every test and theres 8 easy assignments total, just a lot of textbook reading.
Professor Stasio based his lectures on the powerpoints and the textbook. Would provide a study guide for the exams so you have to go read the textbook. Curves almost every test. He's not very helpful and not a caring person. The class was very boring but there was a minimal amount of homework.
TAKE STASIO! He is so knowledgeable in his field and REALLY knows what he's talking about. Lectures are interesting, show up and take notes are the exams will be breezy. Discussion posts weekly and short podcasts to listen to periodically. Exams are online thru proctorio. I love this man so much PLEASE take this class.
Stasio is very passionate & enthusiastic. Though, you sit in your seat and take notes for 2 hours straight. His lectures are long and include a lot of information. Half of the notes we take in class are not even asked on the exams. Expect to read every chapter you learn because more than 80% of the question's come from material in the textbook.
Really cool guy, lectures can be a little boring but if you read the textbook you'll do well on exams.
Stasio is a remarkable teacher who cares greatly about his students. Always initiated class discussions and made sure all questions were answered. He made class interesting and straight-forward. If you actually read the textbook, you will pass with flying colors. Exams were difficult, but almost everything is from the textbook.
pretty nice
I love Stasio, he truly cares about his students. There are a lot of lectures but if you take notes and read the textbook you should be fine. No cumulative final either which is great.
Really caring, class requires effort but isnt too bad. He's really reassuring and is just a great professor. Wants students to do good. No study guides for exams but does practice questions which help. also no cumulative final. Pretty fair course, lectures can be a little boring at times. Was nervous to take this class but really was not that bad
Stasio's class was great!! It has a very organized structure and the work was never overwhelming. It is very lecture heavy but 95% of the lecture comes right from the book and it will be on exams. I do recommend you read because on very few occasion he will put something on an exam that was in the book but not the lecture. It's a great class.
I loved Dr. Stasio, he is very caring and understanding and truly wants his students to succeed and be interested in the topic. The class is easy if you take notes. The exams are very straight forward and as long as you study, you will do well.
he is truly the best! he wants all his students to suceed
Stasio is really nice as a person, but his teaching is so bad. The class was so boring, long, and hard. It would be literally two hours of just reading off of a powerpoint. It was not a fun or interesting class and the exams were the worst part. If you want to take an interesting psychology class, do not at all take this one.
Good dude, class wasn't too hard
Stasio is a genuine and funny professor. His lectures rarely last the full length, and he gives a break midway. He gives a study guide for each test, if you study, you should get at least a B. He also does a test review in class before the exam. He's extremely caring about his students and genuinely wants them to succeed. He's so sweet; take him.
Nice guy who makes long lectures bearable. You can tell he loves what he does and is super determined to have the class do good. Gives study guides before every test but make sure you still take notes in class. Exams are a breeze if you just pay attention and do the assigned study modules. All hw is an automatic 100. Gives lots of grade boosters.
Such a great professor. Take him if you are able. He is very understanding and wants all of his students to succeed. The class is always a lecture and minimal homework. I definitely recommend this class!!
He is super nice his lectures can be long and his tests can be alittle challenging also this class requires you to be apart of students studies outside of class.
Stasio is so sweet and caring and was a fantastic teacher. He made the lectures interesting and often lets you out early. The test were so straight forward so as long as you do the assignments and study a little you will be fine. People who do bad in this class must have not put in any effort. He also gives extra credit.
Nice guy always willing to help with anything. 4 non-cumulative exams are majority of your grade since there's no paper or project assignment, but theres easy stuff to boost grade. As long as you come to class and pay attention you'll do good. Get online copy of textbook (I've never actually read it) to look up stuff on study guide you don't know.
amazing. such a sweet guy and really cares about you. classes are lecture heavy and can be a little boring but the class is easy so it's worth it. extra credit options at the end of the semester. take him!!!
He is the nicest teacher I have met. Always willing to help you, but you do have to study hard for this class and pay attention throughout each lecture. He is lecture-heavy, but sometimes your notes in class don't help on tests at all. He gives grade study guides that do help alot when studying for his class.
Professor Stasio is a great guy. Attendance is not mandatory, but his class is VERY lecture-heavy. Overall, I recommend taking him.
His lectures are engaging & interesting. He's very clear about what to expect on exams & assignments. The class has around 4 homework assignments per unit, so it's very exam heavy. Exams are difficult, but psych isn't an easy class. Some exams I prepared myself well & performed well. Others I winged & did mid. If you put effort in, you'll be fine.
Dr. Stasio is super kind and intelligent. You definitely have to read textbooks for tests as most of the MC on exams aren't content from class. Unfortunately his lectures are really boring but attendance doesn't count. I do recommend going to class as he doesn't post slides. There is a few extra credit opportunities and some online quizzes.
Dr. Stasio is a very intelligent man and very knowledgable. Attendance isn't mandatory but he doesn't post the slides so you have to go to get the notes. His exams are not hard if you study and he does in class activities once a week which really helps with comprehension. You can't really miss those days or you lose the grade for the activity.
He is such a sweet guy whose super passionate about what he does. He makes lectures engaging and really wants the best for his students!
Transferred out of TPA, but he convinced me to pursue psy, leading me to pursue pre-med. Wish he knew how good he was at teaching. Now I'm a junior, and he is still the best professor I have ever had. He is so good at explaining every term or concept. He made it enjoyable to be in class.I genuinely looked forward to the lecture
