His tests aren't too bad if you study hard and go to the SI sessions for review-it helps! When doing the modules take in your essay to him and he will proofread it and you'll get a better grade on it.

Goes off on tangents all the time- won't stay on topic. Semi-interesting topics, but I slept about 1/4 the time. Do the work and you'll do ok, but he wants you to read 1-2 chapters a week, which gets exhausting.

awesome teacher, had him in a summer class, but it was very entertaining, and I learned alot. He really knows his stuff, and the little tangents he goes on add entertainment to the lectures!

Tests are tough, hard questions come from the reading. Not bad to listen to in class though.

Funny guy, easy to listen to. But has a supplement book with 4-6 pg. paper. Quizes over book material you're supposed to have read. Tests are easy if you go to last couple SI's. Lectures don't really help with passing the course.

He's a funny guy, especially when he gives his opinion of the government. However, the SIs are a MUST. ESPECIALLY the last one. The books are hard to read. You'll do fine if you go to all SIs and study! It also helps to find someone who has his old tests

This class sucked. If you don't like history, it's hard. I went to the SIs religously. You have to study or you won't make it. The supplimentary reading is also really hard to understand. You have to read it over and over. I got a C but I studied

Good guy, very hard teacher. He knows his stuff and gives interesting lectures most of the time. SI's are a must if you want to pass, esp. the last one over the essays. Must study hard before the test too, but he's a great teacher.

Great teacher. A good guy. Fairly easy class. Pulled a B with very minimal effort. Never went to SIs or read the book. Lectures can get boring tho.

Since no one else has rated him as hot, especially for a history professor, I will! He's a great guy! If you are in band, especially if you play the trumpet, take him! That is a great way to get him off topic, and to "bond" with him! Overall, a great guy!

You have to do a lot of reading and make sure to fill out the study guide if you want to get a good grade in this class. Reading the book is a must. He's pretty funny and he makes history interesting.

I think his class was fairly easy, but maybe not so if you don't already like history. He pretty much tells you what he expects and the beginning, so it's really not that hard. I recommend taking the class.

Ok, a couple of people have said they would rate him as hot but he still doesn't have any chili peppers. Let me see if this works. Awesome teacher. Very helpful if you ever ask for it.

Most interesting History teacher that I have ever had. Stays on track and is very informative. Tests are over the lectures so just make sure and be there. He is great!!!

Mr. Steiner is a great teacher. He made the class fairly easy and his lectures were interesting. The tests are kind of hard but if you go to class and read you will be fine. It also helps if you can find someone who has already taken his class. He is also pretty hot for a history teacher.

Dr. Steiner is a GREAT professor! He is so down to earth and puts things in such a way that EVERYONE gets it. Other professors may be far out there, but he's grounded and very understandable, interesting and fun. After taking his American History course, I changed my major-he's THAT good! And no, I didn't change it because he was hot.

He is amazing! He made the class interesting and fun (which is very difficult to do during the summer). Be sure to study the terms on the Study Guide, and review the possible essay prompts, and you will do just fine.

Steiner is way hard! He basically takes attendence and didn't really use that or extra credit into consideration; the grade was the grade. You can type a million miles an hour and still not get everything he says. Not that he talks fast, he just never repeats himself for the important points. If you want to do well study for 3 hours every night

This guy is a good teacher and keeps you interested the whole time. I studied the night before the tests and got high Bs and As. I wrote the paper the night before and got an 89%. However, if you DONT go to class your probably screwed. But his lectures are very interesting and he has some jokes that are actually kinda funny. Great teacher.

Dr. Steiner is a very good professor. His class is EXTREMELY hard, especially if you are bad at history. He will help you in every way possible, but if someone else is easier, just take them and save yourself the trouble.

I have him for freshmen seminar. He is the best teacher that I have ever had, and look forward to being able to see how all he teaches me helps in my future career as a college student. If you are a Poli Sci major then youwill love having him for fresh sem and meny more classes!

This semester's America Historical Survey class with Dr. Steiner was an enjoyable experience. His lectures were always helpful, informative, and interesting. Three exams (no cumulative final), nine online quizzes, and 36 bonus points. I would definitely take him again for a higher-level history quiz. One of the best in the department.
