Micro overall is a hard class. A lot of memorization & combining a lot of past sciences like anatomy and physiology. But stupy is a great teacher...not easy because the material overall is hard. His test are exactly like his notes.very funny and sarcastic

the class is hard overall. he makes alot jokes that many times they don't make sense. gives alot of personal stories that at the end he wont finished them. he flirts, and he picks favorites. his test and labs are hard, just be very to pay attention and ask questions...after all that is why they pay him.

Well, well Mr. Stupy is really a great guy, he is one of the best professors in ECC. He makes the Micro understandable, I would not say easy b'coz it was kinda hard b'coz of too much stuff. Mr. Stupy's teaching is just right for students who wanted to learn.

this class is hard since there is a lot of memorization. it's micro... it won't be easy. BUT just as long as you pay attention, take notes and do the labs, you should be fine. He is a really helpful teacher and explains the material in lamens terms. He's a GREAT teacher.

Take Stupy and remember microbiology forever. I took him many years ago, in fact it was during his first year teaching at El Camino College. He is a solid teacher, very logical in his teaching style, as one could easily follow his train of thought. Now and then i find myself recommending him to fellow students, years after i taking his class.

Go to every class (tape the lectures), follow his notes, go to extra labs, do all available extra credit (true he may not collect it, but you'll know it for the tests), study your a-- off, join/form a SERIOUS study group. I did all of the above and got an A. I wish he taught all my classes.

Wow, this one is a rare gem. Mr. Stupy is an incredible teacher. No surprises on the exams, just follow the lecture notes. He's funny too. Don't bother buying the textbook not only is it expensive, it's useless. I never opened it. All you need are notes. and you MUST go to open lab. You HAVE to study to pass this class.

I LOVE MR STUPY. You dont even have to buy the textbook. It's almost $300 and I never used it.I sold it back today at school and they only gave back $50.We only use the lab book.He gives out many handouts so don't buy the coloringbook either.Instead, buy the voicerecorder!It's only $40-$70!!

Mr. Stupy was overall a good teacher, he really loves what he does. He doesn't really help you out too much, and he does form pets which he treats them a little better than anyone else. He grades hard and is very, very specific. He does offer extra credit, so do it! His tests are hard and they don't really follow his lecture. The reviews don't help

He does require you to buy the lab and text book.Buy the lab book not the text book.He some times gives out notes but other times he does not.Always show up to class once you miss you will be lost.Really nice guy straight forward.

He is a good teacher but he is a computer illiterate. He should give full handouts instead he discuss and writes everything on the board while students are busy copying his lecture which burns time and some students would have trouble participating in the discussion if we are both writing and listening at the time. Also, He does not talk loud.

It's a challenging course, but Prof. Stupy makes our study objectives very clear and he uses stories to help us retain lecture material. the material itself is difficult, but he makes it easy with all of his stories and diagrams. he's big on having the student teach the class so you need to be hands-on with the material during lecture and lab. so glad i took anatomy with him. will definitely try to enroll in his microbio class.

Very well structured class, but VERY anal on grading sometimes. Only answer his questions and do his drawings WORD for WORD from his notes or he'll dock points. He's nice for the most part, tries to be funny and tells a lot of out of the world stories. He also definitely makes it obvious who he likes and plays favorites which is disappointing.

Everybody loves Stupy, and for very good reasons. Seriously the best teacher ever. He should be cloned so he can teach Physiology too (no one else seems to be able to do it well)! He is a really good teacher, the material is a lot though, so be sure to study and review his notes a lot. Mr. Stupy is not that DIFFICULT. I have no clue why at the end of the semester only 40-50% of the class is left. He says you have to hit the books hard EVERYDAY. DEFINITELY take this class if youre in the nursing program. only used the txtbk once, to look up a diagram- you dont really need to spend the money on it. buy the lab book though, you wont survive w/o it. gives some e.c., tests arent bad, super nice, hilarious teacher, relatable, very helpful. Took Prof. Stupy Summer 2014 for 6 weeks. Really helpful professor. Gives a lot of EC assignments. Wants students to pass the class. However, do not buy the textbook. Only the lab book. we never used the textbook during class. Will miss his teaching and the hot girls in class. LOL

I took his 5weeks course over the summer! I absolutely love him! He is a great teacher and gives you tons of notes! I'm not going to lie the class is not easy especially during the summer but all anatomy classes are a lot of work! If you put in the work you can get an A! He gives extra credit. He does only require you to have the lab book.

I'm taking him right now for Anatomy 30. Book is not optional but if you don't have it he will notice... Tests are not that hard, just do what he says like make flashcards, rewrite his notes, and draw things over and over again and you'll get a B at least. He is not hard!!!! Anatomy is a difficult subject and he knows how to teach it well.

He is super picky when it comes to grading tests one missing word or misspelling half a point here and there adds up. Tests are not as clear as the handouts and he says this is a good test question and its not even on the test. Test reviews are not much help but overall he's a good teacher and is very helpful. Labs are fun but class goes till 10pm.

As a current student of Professor Stupy's I have to say he is truly a great professor and likable guy. His lecture goes quick but he's giving you exactly what you need to know for the exam. One of the most challenging classes I have taken. He is a great teacher and loves his job but has high expectations from his students. You do not need a txtbook. Memorize all the info given on handouts/notes & you should do fine. Although it is mainly memorization, there is a lot of material you must know and there is NO study guide, anything goes!

It's a tough class but if you study his notes you'll be fine. You really cant cram for this class ! Study groups will help a lot ! I took his Anatomy 30 class in the summer. His lectures were very fascinating and I learned so much! It was very fast paced and so it's easy to fall behind. Getting an A is hard work but a B would be very attainable for most. Enjoyed his class. Would definitely recommend.

Warning: this is a really difficult class so BE prepared This class requires so much constant effort and you cannot slack off. There are lab quizzes every single week and he grades extremely hard so be as specific as you can. Memorize everything! But his lecture are fun and so are labs. Also he is such a nice guy and he has so many funny stories!

I am very grateful to have had Mr. Stupy as my professor. He's not the type to slack off on the lecture so you have to keep focus at all times! He gives out extra credit but make sure you hear it because none of what he offers is on the syllabus, but he's really tight with those points so make sure to make that xtra credit count! Hardest class I ever took but, it was amazing! Take pics of all the labs and upload it on a doc (labeling it will help). Finish the lab notebook early. Don't take physio with it. Study everyday and keep it up. You can not slack. Get a study partner. Participate. Bergeysnightmare but memorize it. although its a lot of work it will be fun!

You really can't slack off. You have quizzes, lab practicals exam, lab exams, lecture exams, lab notebook, and much more. There's extra credit, but you really have to work for it. You almost need to be perfect to get a high score. He's a tough grader. Don't need the book but memorize ALL his handouts. There's no study guide. Lots of work!!

This is definitely a tough class but by no means is it impossible to pass. It may seem like a lot of information but he writes all the notes down with you or gives you a packet and almost all his test questions will be from the notes. If you study the notes everyday a little bit at a time you will do good. Repetition of notes is key to memorizing.

Microbiology isn't an easy subject and taking this class with Professor Stupy isn't easy at all BUT he is so clear on what he wants exactly from students. He gives you most of the notes but you literally have to memorize every little detail (spelling counts!) Just study everyday so you won't cram the day before and you'll be fine.

Be prepared to put in work. Don't slack on the lab notebook. Do it as soon as you do that lab because they will pile up. Memorize everything! He's a tough trader. Buy colored pens/highlighters for notes. Will make life easier. Talk to him about fishing/fish and you'll get those brownie points. Don't miss class! Exam reviews don't help much.

All based on exams! Talks softly so sit closest to screen. Hes cool. Drawings terrible, messy writing. Labs and exams on same day and the day before he starts NEXT chapter?! No hws. All quizzes are extra credit. During labs he goes around and reexplains and you can record him so thats helpful. Very old school. basically make a bible 2 pass!!!

he was a hard teacher, alot of material to cover but over all he was a good teacher. be prepared to study alot and dont wait until the last minute to study. Class worth taking

I'm not a SCI major so the subject itself is difficult but he goes over everything, make sure to do voice/vid recording cause your brain won't absorb everything. I didn't take him seriously when he said you need to spend 15hr/week studying but BOII WAS I WRONG cause i failed my 1st test :) you're gonna hate him a bit but he's the best of a bad lot

I took his class during the summer and let me emphasize this: I HAVE NEVER STUDIED THIS MUCH IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I'm thankful that I took his class because it helped me to establish my effective study habits. Study and memorize by sections so you won't get overwhelmed by the amount of material. His handouts are very helpful too!

Best anatomy professor and he knows it. He wants you to do well, will work one on one with you during lab. He teaches a lot by drawing and it helps a ton. When he asks you a question and you're not sure, it looks like he gets personally offended but I think it's because he wants his students to be the best. You will have to work HARD!

Great professor! :) 3 lecture exams (multiitten) 1 comprehensive final, & 2 lab practicals that are written & walk around. Weekly lab quizzes. 1 lab binder due on day of practicals. Study study study! Will not pass if you dont put in time. Labs are interesting, dont plan on getting out of class early. DO NOT get behind on material, its a lot!

Mr. Stupy makes learning Microbiology a wonderful experience, in which you find out how much you love science. He is a one of a kind teacher who puts his students first. I will always remember how having Mr. Stupy helped me on my path to become a great RN.
