Great professor, explains things thoroughly, lot of funny stories
Worst course I ever took
Nice and easy w/ funny stories. But he has a strong accent.
wish he'd stick to economics
great professor, explains clearly, exams are not hard, and he is a good grader.

Awful class; same exams as last semester
Great teacher, interesting lectures. Exams are straight forward miltiple choice.
This course was less rigorous than the economics course that I took in high school
Excellent porfessor. Talks about everything in class, but really cares about the students
Students like him because he's easy. But he can't teach.
I don't think he reads any of the papers. The final is 50 multiple choice questions, but very tough. It's worth 1/3 of your grade and can bring your average down if you don't do well.
Very nice teacher, fair, considerate. I enjoyed the class as well as the independent studies he assigned me. Treats students with respect and always has time to listen.
His lectures make no sense. He is always busy when you go to his office. Fortunately, his exam this year was pretty much the same as last year and students from last year saved me a lot of questions.
He loves to be flattered. Say nice things to him and you'll get a good grade.
If this is what professors at Pace are like, I'm transferring.
Nice guy with a healthy humor in class.Makes all comfortable, explains well.Gives "take home exams."
The best at what he does.
Fair grader. Really likes his students. Old and very wise. I really liked his class!
Best Professor
Not a good course
He is a wonderful professor.
Very nice man, great prof. take home mid-term, and very easy multiple choice final..you would have to be crazy not to take econ with him
Very nice guy....really cares about the students...not too difficult of a grader.
Great professor! Very wise. You learn a lot listening to his experiences. Takes the time to explain all concepts clearly. Take good notes in class and you'll do well.
Even though he has heavy accent, you can understand him very well. Excellent professor, very good grades and you learn a lot too.
Doesn't really grade any of the assignments other than to check it off and give it an A or an A-. The final is multiple choice and common sense. There is no reason to study for the final since it is common sense. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK..
Very lenient grader. Take home midterm and easy final. A couple of papers, but fairly easy. Tells a lot of stories. Overall an easy A professor.
I did not learn anything, except about his acquaintance with many Nobel prize winners. Reminds me of a 'Gilderoy Lokhart' character. Easy grader.
great professor! wise, kind & easy
Didn't learn a thing but got a good grade. My paper was incoherent dribble at best yet I still got an A. Nice guy though.
I finally understood the Law of Demand and Supply, he taught it so easily. He tells the stories only because it helps students to feel free to communicate with him and helps engage in discussions. He is very experienced in his field and knows how to teach.
I just didn't learn anything. The multiple choice exam was easy though.
Didn't learn much from the class. He wastes lot of time with irrelevant stories.
The class was really easy but it would have been just as easy for a college freshman. I did not find his stories useful. Perhaps if he did not tell so many, he would be able to make his course more interesting. All things considered, I'm sorry that I took this course.
Dr. Szenberg did not keep his appointment with me the first time I asked for help and seemed anxious to rush me out of his office when I came back. I really would have been better off with a more helpful professor. His stories contributed nothing to my learning.
Professor is a nice person, but his grading procedure is irrelevant. Overall i didnt learn anything from his course
Easy class. Does anyone knows how he teaches in regards to his Project classes; you only do one project the whole semester???
Pretty much the same as the economics course I took as a freshman, except Szenberg just didn't teach anything. His exam was really easy.
Pros: incredible person, cares a lot, tells many relevant stories, nice explanations, easy final, easy grader. Cons: several boring papers. Take him, you won't regret it!
Likable, material is low level, always helpful, but not sure I learned much of anything.
His exam was really easy. But he clearly has some students that he favors and others that he just doesn't want to bother with.
The exams were really easy. The lectures made no sense. Why not just let students take an exam to opt out of the course?
Doesn't teach much of economics. Did not understand his grading style. He keeps on telling irrelevant stories. He also favors some students and that is really irritating. He even favors gals more than guys. Dint much learn about economics from him. A definite NO.
Travel course to Germany and Poland. I learned nothing. Professor Szenberg did nothing but act friendly. It was an expensive way to see some very uninteresting things in Poland and Germany. I would have learned more and enjoyed myself more had I booked my own trip and simply did independent research with another professor. I did like Eric Kessler.
The international finance trip to Poland/Germany was a once in a lifetime experience. The trip was AWESOME. Prof. Szenberg is a genuine professor who cares about all of his students. What an excellent learning experience.
AWESOME!! TAKE HIM!! LEARN A LOT!
He is a very good professor and I highly recommend taking his classes. He is excellent in making you understand the basic economic concepts, with examples, stories and gives a great historic perspective to the concepts. Easy grades based on mid-term, final and case studies. Very interesting lectures. One of the best professors in New York City.
Good for an easy A, but you won't learn anything. You'd better off watching Fox News.
Spittin' image of Arthur Spooner (King of Queens). Talks just like Arthur Spooner with a German accent. Probably doesn't know any more economics than Arthur, either. You'd at least be entertained better by Arthur - their times conflict.
I've always had hard times with economics but this professor made me understand the basic concepts and notions of economics. Fair grader for the midterm and the papers. Study in both notes and books for the final. For the book review, don't wait until the last minute to start ;-). I really learned with him
if u want to be good in final, read the text book if u are not eco major in under grad.exam is easy, leaned little from his class.writing the essays is too much boring and time consuming.u'd better talk with him frequently so that he can remember you and give u a good grade.
Pretty terrible course. Not a nice man - unless you butter him up.
Incredible waste of time. Learned nothing. I think I know more economics than he does. Nasty and sarcastic. Better off taking basket weaving.
I took an economics course in high school where I learned more than in this MBA level course. It was my first semester. Other students were getting papers from people who had already taken the course. It was just a waste. But, the exam was really easy.
The class was a waste of time. An easy A, but still a waste.
Just a waste of time. This class should not be required.
As a person - terribly sweet and charming, couldn't be nicer. As a prof - would stay away. You won't learn anything and will be bored to tears during long-winded stories of yesteryear. No textbook use, just takes notes in between his stories to add fluff to final. Insane amount of book reviews, and be careful with analysis as he edited all of them!
I LOVE him!! he is so nice and thoughtful. I wish there were more people like him. He really tries to teach and help out the students. Just come to class and participate. Everythign is straight forward!
I really looked forward to learning economics. I didn't. I heard stories about all his economics buddies instead. I didn't care for all his stories. I could have just watched tv instead - and learned more economics in the process.
His stories do help explain the economics he is teaching. However he can be a bit vague on exams and when explaining assignments. Definitely study the textbook and notes for final and midterm. Book reviews are boring.
He is a very good professor. He trys to explain every concept clearly. He is a knowledgable and thoughtful pro. He cares about students and really help students out. Take his class. At least, You have to be in his class and feel the way he tought. It's worth it.
The first day of class I thought of gosh...I should drop this class. But once we got into stuff, he really isnt that bad. It's an extremely easy class and his stories are entertaining. Did NOT learn much so if you're interested in learning take someone else. We went over very basics of economics. Take home midterm, easy papers, multichoice fina
My first course at Pace. I learned nothing. The exam was trivial; I got an A for the course. I can see why Pace is not well-regarded.
The Prof. exhibits great passion and knowledge. However sometimes its difficult to understand him. He takes great interest in story telling to emphasize his point and I believe they are relevant. All in al did learn but could have been better.
Far and away the worst course I ever took. His lectures are just a complete waste of time.
Previous entries either slept through class or failed. He goes into the basics of economics and has the perfect examples. Makes you actually think outside the box. If you pay attention you can learn quite a bit. If you come to class and make an effort you will do well. Txt not needed if you take good notes. Take home midtr, final, some 1 pg essays.
The class lectures were boring, the take home exams were easy, Mr. Szenberg was uninterested in all but a few of his pet students and the course was a waste of time.
This professor always tries to show that he cares about students, tries to make everything easier. BUT, he only does this to get more students next semester. Because, at Pace students like easy profs. and professors know this. But it is waste of time and money. No wonder why Pace is not highly ranked. Avoid this prof. if you wanna learn something
The material was easy. The lectures were not the least bit helpful. This professor is a one-man argument for mandatory retirement at age 75.
Old school professor who gives you a broader perspective on what economics actually is and his lectures are truly those that you will remember even after you leave Pace. Knowledge is not only in textbooks. I would definitely recommend this course.
worst class i have ever taken....complete waste of money
DISAPPOINTMENT....DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH THIS "PROFESSOR"
Awesome guy! you will learn a lot from his experience and his stories. Very good person and easy grader.NEVER BE LATE. DON'T NEED TEXTBOOK. Take home midterm and multiple choice final.
1. class is a waste of time, u learn more about him than economics 2. loves women 3. he is a reflection of the finance dept at pace - disappointment 4. class syllabus is the notes for the class which is embarrassing 5. take another professor who actually teaches
hard final, no textbook but i wish there was one since he does not know how to teach, will learn nothing, favors women
u have to be a complete idiot to say this man has even an ounce of teaching capability...just an idiot !!!! disgrace....should be fired asap !
Awesome teacher! He teaches you about life as well! Really cares about this students!
H O R R I B L E ! I am embarrassed to say I go to pace with profs like this 1 teaching.....just awful....not worth ur $$$$ n time.....u r better off takin this course at a community college...probably better suited profs there.
terrible! do not take
I learned more in undergrad economics.....makes one wonder what the qualifications standards were when he was hired 10,000 yrs ago ....not a fair grader and hard exams n does not teach....
Nothing exciting. But easy to get A. Textbook not needed.
This guy does not teach. The final will screw you over big time. Be prepared to have an A average in the beginning and then drop down at least 2 letter grades
Taking economic class with him and he's great. No need for textbook, he teaches from his material. Make sure you take note and aware of what's going on in the world. He's focus more on what you need to do to join the real world, not just textbook and theory. He's very nice with helping if you don't understand. Speak up in class and ask questions.
Easy A. Lousy course. He has a knack for taking the easiest material and bungling so that it's challenging to decipher. This guy should have retured 30 years ago.
Brilliant professor. Very informative- talks about material and real world. Will always help you. Def. take
One of the worst and useless professors at Pace. Highly knowledgeable but has definitely no interest in making the students learn. PS: You will surely be well informed by the end of semester about his wonderful family. Do not take him if you want quality for your money.
nice guy! Loves all people and will help them out. additionally, he is very funny and of course he knows his stuff
Show up, participate, ask questions etc and you will do great!
