Mike T. is the best professor I've had. There is no one who is more helpful and willing to spend time with students encouraging them. He can always make you feel good about yourself and your work, and I learned more from him then anyone else.

Most amazing teacher I have ever had! Made me the great writer that I am today. Very helpful and continues to help even after classes are over. I still have him look over papers for other classes. So good I'm taking Reseach Writing with him!

Mike Williamson is one of my favorite teachers. He is fun, enthusiastic, and caring. I left both college and research writing feeling I had really attained important knowledge.

very fun teacher for research writing, very enthusiastic about teaching, though the paper had to be quite LONG, gave a lot of one-on-one help in my class. sometimes incorporated bigotry into his lectures which i found offensive at times.

I can't express my love for this man enough. He is sweet, caring, and loves to help students with anything, personal or school related. He has an aura of energy around him that gives the class liveliness. I'd marry him if he wasn't already. I LOVE HIM

Had him for 2 courses and plan to take him again. Never loved a prof more. I'm not in his class this semister but he still spends him time helping me work throught projects for other classes. No one else I know would care enough to do that. I LOVE HIM!!

He has not only inspired me to be a better writer, but a better person as well. Always makes time to help and honestly seems not to mind. Can't wait to have him again next semister. Wonderful Man. Can't recommend highly enough.

He is a very nice professor, always willing to help his students. He can be very narrow minded and is never really clear on what the assignment is. There is a lot of writing that goes along with this class, you are always going to be working on an essay.

There is something about Mike T that makes me want to be a better person. Love him to death. Very helpful, kind and generous. Loves to help no matter what. He is also really hot which doesn't hurt ;) Loves his work. Could not recommend anyone higher.

He is a very nice guy who wants each student to do well in his class. Understanding when it comes to papers being late cuz he realizes u have other classes. He does need to be more clear on what he wants out of his assignments though & when they are due..

I had Mike 3 or 4 times in college- I LOVE HIM. He's one of the nicest guys I know and a brilliant teacher. You do have to read a lot for his classes but I learned more from him in brit. lit than anyone. Very very sweet & cute.

Never met a prof that cares so much and he's so kind and understanding with students. Yes, lots of reading, but not a lot of writing at all so I feel it's better that way. He makes class fun and entertaing, but we stil learn...uncommon! MT is great.

although he gives a lot of homework, he is an excellent prof. very opinionated, but also very intelligent and knows what he's talking about. don't take class for easy A, but take to learn something usefull.

Take him at least once before you graduate. Mike will offer you ways to read and write about literature in very innovative and unique ways. If you don't take him, you will definately have big gaps in your education that you will have to try and deal with later.

If you like to LEARN and THINK, then you'll like MTW. He isn't easy, but he challenges you in a wonderful way and he doesn't make you feel stupid at all. Just stop by his office if you don't understand, he WILL help, and loves it. He loves his job and it shows. I have a very high respect for him

Like others, I think he is sometimes difficult to understand, but I have never met a professor more willing to help. JUST ASK. He is friendly, sweet, kind, and most of all, loves his job and loves literature. Get to know him before you bash him.

I thought he was great. I think he is a true English professor who is very enthusiatic about literature. I think he is a prof. who honestly respects students opinions, and loves to hear what students think about text.His class takes effort but hey we're in college! i would def. take him again.

Think about yourself and the other..you have to cross borders and boundaries..he actually taught me how to think differently and to write like a professional

One of the few classes I've taken at IUP that was actually valuable. His teaching style may be hard to follow, but I'll take it over the generic methods our other lame profs have hammered into the ground year after year. If you are dumb, don't take the class. Simple as that. The effort is worth it.

He's very enthusiastic all the time, but he looks like Peter Gallagher so he's good to look at. Lets you write about whatever you want basically. Gives alot of feedback on your papers to help you. I missed some classes and still got an A. I think he is a real nice guy, a great prof. and would definitely take him again.

He's a decent teacher - very enthusiastic, but is a big pushover and never sticks to the syllabus. He expects you to read, so if you hate to read, don't take his class. On average, we read a book a week.

as long as you do what you are supposed to do, the class is easy. the man has a great passion for the subject.

I took him 3 times in undergrad...he is one of the best profs I've ever had..he really helped me understand the material, and even gave me some confidence in myself. Even compared to my profs in grad school--I still think I learned the most from him. He's exactly what I aspire to be as a prof some day. M.T. kicks it.

In the beginning i was so lost but as the class went on i began to understand and learn. He helped me learn how to understand what it is i am reading. He is a very nice guy that will help you any way he can.

Looking at the bad comments, I'm laughing. I love Williamson. You have to be able to think the way he does and talk in class, that's all.

I'm laughing at the bad reviews. He's a chill guy, very into literature. Easy grader. People don't like him because he asks you to think. Talk a lot about what you think, and he'll love you. Hell of a guy. Leniant on due dates. Very avant-guard but very good and insightful. Take him if you want to have fun.

These comments are ridiculous. Belittling students? That never happened once. He was always VERY encouraging to his students, he adored them. Everyone's writing was beautiful to him, just needed revising. I sent him an email saying I couldn't come to class, but I went anyway and after that he emailed me and said thank you for coming.

absolutely lovely man. he was the one professor that i was always afraid to disappoint. he believes in every student and will gently prod you to get your best work out. he appreciates every student's opinion and remembers your interests. mtw will always help you-even if it's not something for his class. excellent prof, excellent at advising. lovely

loved his class! he is very helpful. going into my 2nd yr best prof. by far..he truly cares about his students and can relate to what you say. had a situation of my own talked to him and he helped me. class is a bit tough but its worth it you will learn something from this man!! if i can i will take him again!

That is absurd and literally impossible professor Williamson is a brilliant teacher and a wonderful person. He would never belittle his students he always cares for them and as for his assignments its true they could be challenging but thats how you really really learn

One of the best professors I've had. His respect for the students is amazing, and he appreciates everyone's input and opinions. This was the last class I needed to complete my BA in Psych, and I could not have chosen a better class or professor. He is interesting funny, and a wonderful teacher. I would highly recommend taking his class.

I liked him fine at the start of the term..as the semester progressed I became less and less patient with his off the wall theories and liberalist attitude. Alot of the texts were religiously based and I felt that he really bashed Christianity. He kept adding up the assignments as we got closer and closer to the end of the semester, and his finals

Great professor! The class was great with discussion and you could always tell your own view on things. Yes there was a lot of reading and writing papers but he always gave you a lot of time to get things done and always was there if you needed help! Definitely recommend if you enjoy writing!

I had him my freshman year and he was totally awesome. He respects most writing styles and loves hearing different opinions. He's very willing to help. Just be sure to re-clarify when things are due, because he does change the syllabus a lot. Yes you read a lot and write a lot but that's college writing for ya!

Very passionate about what he teaches. Teaches college students to read, write, and think critically. Could use more clarity on assignments given, but is always willing to work with the student to complete assignments. Over all, a great teacher.

Probably the best prof I've ever had. He is challenging, which is a good thing. He is always helpful and understanding. If he disagreed with you on something it was for a reason and should be considered. I've learned more in his classes than most others that I have taken. If you're not ready for this prof then you're not ready for college.

He's a good teacher. Expect to write and read a lot. But it's about very interesting subjects that you've never really thought about before. He's a very open person. One of my favorite prof's at IUP

He's a very eccentric guy, but he knows what he is talking about. Read up on Deconstructionist Theory if you plan to take his class; authors like Derrida. He'll love you. Talk in his class and be creative. He has a passion for his students and their work and really wants to see them succeed as well as publish their work. All around fun guy!

I had him at the beginning of the year so he understandably had some organizational issues and he was difficult to understand. He talks very quickly and is a little quirky, but in a nice, funny way. Even though he was difficult to understand at the beginning, I was eventually able to understand him. Very approachable and helpful outside of class.

Very happy to have studied with Dr Williamson. Her is very kind and make you proud of yourself and that you excel in anything.

I really liked Dr. W when I had him for English. His class is mostly discussions but he really wants his students to interact. About 3-4 papers with 3 books. He is very caring for his students and wants to see them succeed. Very nice professor, would recommend him.
