his first time teaching, he is pretty good, but i always fell asleep. Test questions from him is weird. if its ez, its just too ez, if hard its just too hard, there is no middle range that wa i think. always late grading HWs. he uses slides to teach which that suxed, shows no examples of coding
Not bad for 1st time, gave out candy on Day 1. Tries to accomodate students. Easily contactable by email or blackboard forum (he actually responds here). The coding exam was a disaster; perhaps because he didn't explain certain code in detail. Actively keeps in touch with email messages.
pretty good for first time teaching. work well with student and try to give you the best grade possible, even changing his grading policies! very nice guy
If you just want to get the credit for the class, he's alright. Otherwise, he's extremely boring. The worst thing is that he doesn't seem to use any of his own material. The lecture slides were from a previous prof. Doesn't have a backbone and adjusts poorly. Doesn't know the material he teaches.
Mike Tashbook is great professor. His lectures are clear and concise. He posts all materials on blackboard! His grading policy is *more* than fair. My one complaint is that he gave too many second chances to bad students. if you can't pass that coding exam, try a different major! don't blame Mike!
He is very organized. The only one who is very communcative, friendly, helpful, passionate and extremely clear with his students.Never Read the textbook but with only his lecture I got a very high grade. The best professor I have ever seen in Stony Brook so far. Just beware from the TAs (:
He trys as hard as he can to keep students interst and is a very fair grader and will try to work with you if you just ask for the help
he is a great professor, he is new to teaching so he is trying his best, gives more grades than u deserve so dont even complain his grading, his lectures are boring but nobody is perfect, overall if u can put some effort in class it is an easy A or maybe A+ so it is all up to you.
Needs to learn the material better before you can teach it. All over the place. Lack of teaching skills. Is a shame that the CS deparment lets go of Cortina but hires this man to teach... cse 130 ... cse 114 and now *new* cse 308. Nice guy but shouldn't be teaching CS at Stony Brook.
Really good prof! He's a true geek and he really knows what he's doing. Thought it was funny that we did a network assignment, better than other stuff in other classes. Can be a little dry sometimes, but very good.
I think he is a very good prof. Always give us extra credit and curves if we did bad on the exams. Extend our HW time if we request. Only the exams materials are too hard. But overall, he is a good prof. He is trying to make things easy for us.

Very nice guy, gives ample extra credit. Just make sure you do as much programming as you can. It helps.
This professor is the best cse professor I have so far. The only way you can fail his class is not doing any works at all. He is always in his office if you need help.Alot of extra credit on exams and hw. You can even ask him for help when you move on to CSE214 or other courses. This guy should teach ALL the CSE courses.
Clear, helpful, funny. Great Instructor.
Great professor. Always ready to help you out unlike some other professors.
HE IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW PROFESSORS I'VE EVER HAD. HE'S THE BEST TEACHER.ALWAYS THERE TO HELP, GIVE LOTS AND LOTS OF EXTRA CREDITS.IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FAIL THIS CLASS.HE MAKES THE CLASS SO EASIER AND GIVE SO MUCH OTHER MATERIAL TO STUDY FOR BETTER LEARNING. HE'S VERY GENEROUS ABOUT GRADING AND GIVES AS MUCH AS PARTAIL CREDIT MORE THAN YOU DESERVE.
I only had him for ITS102, but he is really a great guy and seems to be not a tough prick. Hes really into what he does and hell allways be willing to help you.
Lectures can easily put you to sleep. However I suggest you strongly resist that urge because the man knows what he is talking about, and paying attention will help with those homework assignments. He's really accommodating in regard to helping with the work, especially if you show interest. Don't worry if you do bad on a test, tons of extra credit
Great instructor, makes himself very available, gives lots of opprotunities for extra credit, puts notes online, I think he's pretty much the best it gets as far as it goes for college instructors.
very good professor, gives plenty of chances to raise your grade. very helpful during office hours. overall great class. the only thing is reading in text books is not assigned so you have to do it on your own, otherwise labs will be a little confusing. tests are also not too easy.
He definitely hates the summer weather. Smells funky and looks greasy. Sweats profusely. Besides appearance, he is an awesome professor. He talks in a deadpan manner in a way that you won't always catch his very funny sense of humor. His jokes are very bleak but are so funny yet hardly anyone catches it. He won't prepare you well for future course.
Tashbook is an easy professor to get along with. He teaches well but comes up with wierd analogies. You can easily ask him to explain something and help with your programming. P.S if you want a used CS book contact me.
cool teacher. Tests are easy, always some extra credit to do, hes always makin it easier for everyone to pass and he knows what hes teaching
This man is an awesome professor, despite a somewhat unchallenging assignment set. He's genuinely concerned about his students and is one of the few professors in the department who can be called a decent human being.
Mike is probably the nicest professor I've ever known. He gives you tonsof extra credits to get you points. He's very helpful during office hours. His exams are also a bit on the easy side, not to mention you get a cheat sheet.
great + generous professor, very helpful during office hour
CANDY! He's refreshingly quirky-- you're allowed to throw paper notes with questions on them, and he brings a battle axe to tests. He is genuinely interested in answering all of the student questions in class, very thoroughly. Test review time, though, students asked questions that WERENT about the exam. Someone should have stopped him.
Amazing. Such a source of sincerity. If you ever need anything he will help with the best of his ability. Outstanding philosophy. Definately take any and all classes he teaches.
very good professor, easy on the grades, alot of extra credit. He is also really nice. I recommand to his class to anyone who wishs to get an A and learn some computer science basics.
this guy is the coolest professor in all of stony brook! his work is easy (not always a good thing), but you also learn a lot in the process. you can throw paper balls at him with questions and he will occasionally use nerd jokes (they can be funny, you will know what i mean when you take him). overall i enjoyed this class and will take him again!
If you don't get an A in his class, change your major
this guy is a god among men
This guy was a good prof, yet was always unorganized, and my grade suffered by his fault. Getting the highest grade on every assignment and extra credit for the class somehow yielded an A-,though on the Blackboard grade listings I had a grade of over 106%. Turns out the TA's didn't grade some work, and he didn't bother to check. I'm sure others too **
If you know programming, you don't have to go to class. Tons of quick labs that take up your time. Helpful in office hours. Everyone does well. He'll bend for the class to be happy.
Very easy professor. Gives lot of extra credit. If you already have some knowledge about java then peice of cake for you you will feel waste of time taking this class. but If you dont know anything its ok to take with him.notes are good. labs help a lot.
He is the most patient professor in the CS department
Always helpful, very fair if you had problems, he would extend dates, and he always gave extra credit you learn a lot from him, even though the class is easy, and he is just an awesome guy. I have him for 114 right now, and he doesn't cease to amaze!
PROS: very nice & cool. Cares about students, & willing to help if you're stuck on assignments. Also very generous in letting ppl borrow his textbooks. CONS: Comp sci in general is by far the hardest course type, so 114 was no bed of roses. Also, it was hard to have in-person office hours, since he only holds office hours online (thru AIM).
Tashbook is a "unique" professor. This isnt an easy A if you have no idea how to do Java, but its a good start on CS. The bad part of the semester was having to pay for Codelab, Goal, a CPS clicker, the book(which I never used), and still do labs on blackboard. His office hrs are online thru AIM and overall he is a very lenient, nice guy.
Didn't learn anything but got an A..... cool guy though....
this guy is a very patient professor who is willing to help anyone and everyone. the workload is little and even on his exams you're allowed to bring a cheat sheet! If you put a little effort into his class, you'll do well. overall, very nice professor, which i highly recommend having for a CSE class.
A very caring and patient professor. I respect his personality so much. He is willing to help you all the time. It's not likely to fail the class if you do spare some time on it. But it's not easy to get an A, since it's 94+. By the way, you can have a cheatsheet during the exams.
Well if you don't get A in his class then its time to change your major!
He is the sexiest beast alive. Careful during midterms he lets you use a cheatsheet but if you are caught cheating he will axe you
this dude is a beast. watch outt!
Going to his lecture is useless b/c he only rephrases what's on his slides, and his voice makes you sleep. He doesn't use the textbook, so don't buy it. Labs and codelabs can be infinitely MUCH HARDER than what he covers, so prepare to self-learn through 90% of his course, unless you already know everything beforehand. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
A great professor.
Easy A professor. I took his class during the afternoon, and that class became our famous nap taking time.
His class is a joke, i failed his midterm and his final but i still ended up with an A. He doesnt really care about his students. You can sleep in class or whatever, he just wants to get it done with.
Mtashbook, is probably one of the nicest teachers at SBU. Has online office hours via AOL Instant Messaging and is always available for help. The only downfall to his class is that lecture can be dry. Just pay attention and ask questions, a good grade is guaranteed.
Regular students will love this class as it is an easy A. Serious comp sci students should avoid his class. I had him for both 110 and 114 and I didn't learn a thing so when 214 came around with McKenna, I struggled immensely and failed. Any who takes this man seriously needs to get themselves checked.
he's soo hot!!!!
So easy! He's the best!
Honestly , this was the easiest class i have taken in my 3 years in college. Be aware you will not learn much. I got an easy A and came out with no knowledge in programming. So if you are a CSE major, i will suggest you avoid him at all cost.
tashbook is a real nice guy, but this class is a joke. it's insanely easy. about a quarter of the students in the class actually show up. you can just go over slides and easily get an A. hell, you can skip the final and have a great chance at an A. great professor, but speed up the class a little, we're in college, not elementary school!
One of the best ISe teachers on campus. He is very intelligent and willing to help you out with whatever you need. Attendance is not mandatory but it is excellent to go to.
What a great professor, teaches in a concise, detailed manner, unlike other professors at SBU he takes the time to EXPLAIN things to you. Another SBU Computer Science professor told me that I should dropped out of the CSE Program, if I had listened, I would never been a CSE Senior! Thanks to Tashbook teachings, I have become a better student.
I agree with the last comment, he will go out of his way to make sure that you understand something. I highly recommend that you take his class. SB needs more teachers like him he truly cares about his students. He's great!!
Professor Tashbook is the MAN! He gives the class extra credit all the time and is the MOST lenient grader. Plus, he's super helpful and doesn't expect any of us to be a computer wiz. Great guy!
Pretty cool fellow. His class was insanely boring and the labs were a little hard but it's a pretty easy class. Sometimes he tries to tell a joke but it's usually not very funny....
Very helpful, cares about his students, lots of extra credit, makes the class interesting. Easy A if you do the work. Only downfall is grading, he takes forever!
He was great (:
Easy interesting class; makes good, relevant analogies; much extra-credit and much help offered on labs; extra-credit offered is plentiful, which makes the course easy; however, very slow grader
He just types away at the computer going through the code so if you don't keep up, FORGET IT, you're left behind. I can honestly say that I barely learned anything from him. He knows what he's doing and is very helpful when you ask for help but his lectures are borderline useless...
One of the best teachers in SB. Extremely helpful. The class appears easy because his teaching methods makes it easy to learn. I learned so much in in class!! He is a role model for other teachers. Also, he provides extra credit, which comes in handy if you have an off day during a test. He is an overall great guy.
Very sweet guy; willing to work with you if you have any problems and even allows each student one chance during the semester to hand in something late without being penalized. Always made sure everybody understood the material before he went further through the lecture. I really appreciate professors who explain things like he did.
He is so sweet. His lectures are clear and to the point. I would recommend takin him.
SUPERRRRRR sweet! He is so clear,so helpfull, so nice. He really really wants you to learn. I would absolutely recommend taking him.I love his class
Great professor. Helps with any questions and makes it pretty interesting.
His lecture is really clear. He really helps students a lot and cares about us. He is one of the best professor I've ever met. Take this course with him if you want!!
This guy is the setup. Awesome.
He has to be one of the nicest professors at SBU. He cares a lot a about his students and wants them to do well. He is extremely helpful in and outside of class. If you are considering about taking his class, go for it! It'll be worth it. Also, you don't really need the textbook, it's more of a guide. GREAT PROFESSOR!
The best prof ever!!!!!!! Very patient and kind, and even thoughtful!! I would like to take his class again! Make his class very clear and always reply emails quickly.
Took CSE 110 with him. Easy class, every test you get the opportunity for 10 extra credit points, and the tests are easy to begin with. As long as you read the slides posted on the course webpage and aren't an idiot you'll get an A. Going to class DOES help too, so try to do that if possible.
He is a really good Professor. He really care about his students, and wants them to learn. I am not good at Programming,When I asked him questions many times, he was always patient and helped me a lot. I appreciate him:)
Very nice professor, extremely easy to pass with an A
One of the nicest professors in the ISE department. Attendance isn't taken, but its an interesting topic. Quizzes are straight forward, midterm/final are a breeze. Do the questions at the end of the chapter, really helps prepare you for the kind of questions you encounter on the tests. Extremely easy grader. Take 312 with him!
Very helpful professor. Never saw such a good professor in my academic life. He is patient with your questions, no matter how long it takes you to understand. He makes hard course easy. I have seen some professors who makes easy courses harder by not teaching students well. I don't have more words to put. But he is an excellent professor.
One of the best professors I ever had. He is really patient & helps everyone & really wants you to do good. Gives extra credit which really helps. Homeworks weren't extremely hard but you should give time and effort & study the examples. I'm new with programming so at times it was hard but he makes it pleasant and doable. Awesome professor ever!
He is a fantastic and very kind professor. Would recommend highly!
He is a very nice professor.
He is a very nice professor. you have any questions about anything, he will help you out. If you don't do well on an exam he provides enough extra credit to make up for it. He is very clear and very knowledgeable, definitely take him if you get the chance.
He is a very kind person. If there's anything that you don't understand, just email or go to his office hours. He understands how the students feel and so is very helpful. Make sure you go through the lectures and samples he does. He goes at a steady pace and doesn't stress us too much. I learned a lot from him. Very knowledgeable.
This. guy. was. EPIC.
Wow, I don't have him as a professor, but darn it. I went to his office hours and it took him 30 minutes to explain everything I was confused about and that was a whole bunch of topics. He makes sure you understand the things he says and wont be mad if you ask him to repeat them!
Really good professor! Being really helpful the whole time.
obviously a good professor. He carefully graded everything and left comments on your assignments. Really helpful and always replied your email. In one word: perfect.
Really really easy class. Just a presentation and a essay. I recommend Tashbook for any CSE class. Very lenient grader. If you feel that there is some unfairness in the grading of midterm, just talk to him. Overall, I enjoyed this class, and I put in minimal effort for an A.
REALLY great proffesor you learn a lot. Not as much coding as i would've liked but w/e. Extremely helpful and ridicuolously nice, he sparked my interest in comp sci to the point where i might make it my major. AMAZING PROFESSOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO sweet!! He really takes the time to break it down. He actually made this material really interesting. I actually learned something! He actually has funny jokes too, but you have to listen for them since his tone of voice doesn't change when he says them :P. I went to him during his office hours, very helpful!
I recommend Tashbook for any CSE class. Very lenient grader.
Tashbook is an SBU legend. One of the most helpful professors i've ever had, knows Java like the back of his hand. If you don't understand something don't hesitate to ask him questions, he's very approachable and has no problem explaining things over until you understand it.
The best. Easy on the eyes, and the grades!
Tashbook's lectures may be dry, but his class is definitely an easy A. Exams are based on lecture slide and he's really helpful in his office hours. I was a total rookie and actually learned things from his class. The only thing I find annoying is his zyBook assignments. They are extremely time consuming (but also helpful). Textbook not needed.
Really a great guy as well as a fantastic professor. He knows what he's talking about and if you show interest, he really takes the time to go in depth with his explanations. He genuinely wants to help you do well.
Easy A. If you don't get an A, then you probably didn't attend lectures at all or just suck at comp sci.
Really easy professor. Tests are simple. The guy hands out candy during exams, which should give you an idea of the kind of person he is.
His classes are easy and he goes over the very basic concepts of computer science very well. But he definitely needs to prepare you for the next level classes a bit better. You can pass this class with flying colors but, won't get you ready for object oriented and memory management concepts in the next level classes that you're expected to know.
Really really nice guy, go to his office and talk to him, he is more helpful than you think.
In the four years I have attended Stonybrook University, Professor Tashbook is by far the best Professor I have ever had. He is a very down to earth person who gives plenty of opportunities to excel in his class with extra credit, review sessions, and is open to questions. He definitely has a passion for teaching as he always seems happy to help.
Prof Tashbook saved me this semester. I thought I nearly failed his class, I did horrific on the midterms and final. Luckily, he passed me with a C and I am forever grateful. If you have to take CS for your major, take a class with him! The class is tough but he's so dedicated to his students. I love love love you Professor Tashbook!!!!
Best professor at Stony, gives insane amount of extra credit and always there for you if you need help or have a question. He gives candy on all exams so that gives you an idea of the kind of person he is.
great teacher, nice guy; gives candy out on first day and exams; compromising on reasonable issues. good homeworks, easy textbook. Great guy and great informative lectures. Tests were reasonable!
amazing prof!!! His lectures are easy to understand. he explains as he codes so you know what he is doing. Sometimes, he uses fodor's lecture notes. The class itself is pretty easy if you actually read the textbook. The test is hard but fair. it's easier than fodor's test;the average was higher in this class than fodor's. The project was hard af :/
He is a great teacher. I learned a lot from him. However, CSE 101 is not an easy class, you have to study a lot and get ready for lots of homework. Attendance is not mandatory but you wouldn't want to miss the classes.
Not an easy class. Do not take if you are here for a requirement or SBC. Leave this class to the compsci majors who already have a head start over you and will have the drive to keep up with the rigorous homework, tests, and project that will be assigned to you.
I took this class because I thought it was gonna be easy but let me tell you, this class was way too hard for a 101 class and the comments below are misleading. The test was harder than the practice test he gave us. There's labs due every week, and the homeworks that were due every two weeks were super hard. AVOID for the sake of your GPA!
Honestly one of my favorite professors of all time. He cares about his students and would answer any questions about the course - even when he seems like he has a lot on his plate. I took both CSE 110 and 102 with him and they were both the easiest classes on my schedule. I'd recommend any class with him.
He's not that bad but personally, I think he teaches too fast and cse 101 is the class that made me want to change majors just because it's super hard for an intro class.
Tashbook is a nice person but his class is way too hard for an intro CS class, and he isn't a good teacher. Considering many people don't know how to code before taking this class, he should properly teach us actually how to code rather than just typing code on his computer and expecting us to copy it. Exams are also hard. Nice person, Bad Teacher
Lectures make you want to sleep because of his monotone voice (not just me, I see a lot of people not paying attention). It is a hard class even if you pay attention, the slides and examples he puts up online don't really explain themselves - definitely will need to go to office hours and labs to understand if you are new to CSE. HARD TESTS!
Tashbook is a great professor! But if you're not a computer science major, and are just taking this class for SBC's, drop this class. This class is not easy what so ever. Try something like Mec 280. He is a very nice professor and will explain things a million times until you get it. Written exams are 80% of your grade!
Tests are 75 percent of your grade, while the hw, labs, and project are only 9, 10, and 6 percent respectively, you don't do well on the 2 midterms and 1 final, you won't do well in the class unless there's a miracle curve, which there better be praying hard to jesus that i can at least get a c omggg
Professor Tashbook was a really good professor for a introduction class and I did learn a lot from him. The class isn't too difficult even with no background knowledge in Processing, and his lectures really take the time to explain a lot of concepts. Make sure you take notes in your code so you know what to do for the exams, which are all open book
Great professor, very nice and dedicated. easy A for people who have some programming background plenty of extra credits tests are fairly easy
He is a nice human being. I went to many of his office hours, did review questions, but still his tests were so hard. For a 101 class, its very hard and barely any curve. Many other kids did really poorly.
I was taking this because of all those review. To be frankly, Prof Mike is nice guy and always willing to help. However, he made 101 very very very hard. Most of kids in my class did very poor. For midterm 1, average score is 52 for total 92. It's just 101. I do not understand why make this so difficult. And no curve.
I don't get why he doesn't curve the class, especially since he seems to be a nice guy otherwise. Most people are failing according to his grading scale, myself included. Good thing I GPNC'd it. I don't get the point of making most of the class fail. Sure CSE keeps getting more competitive at sbu but this class isnt even for cse major credit.
Worst professor i have ever had, grading scale unfair, if your not a computer science major you will fail
It's a nice prof but a tough grader
This teacher really cares about his students, staying way past his office hours to help his students. He is very lenient and understanding of your situation if you explain to him, but don't take advantage of that too much.
It was difficult not knowing any coding beforehand. I went to TA office hours and has no idea what was going on and the labs were not helpful. I bombed the first midterm due to the difficulty of writing the code and had to self-study hard for midterm 2. This year, he does not post the slides on time and assigns hw late. But, he is caring and nice.
WORST PROFESSOR, learned nothing. Cancelled >8 classes (majority within hour of class), cancelled/postponed at least 5 assignments, postponed midterm day of exam 5 times, didn't receive a single grade til last month of course. It has been 8 days since the end of class & Im still waiting on the final hw to be ASSIGNED. its finals week. DO NOT TAKE!!
Tashbook was very sick this entire semester. As a result of his sickness, he canceled and postponed a lot of classes and homework. The first midterm was pretty hard for a 101 class. He toned it down midterm 2 and final though. He hosted a review session a day before the finals. I recommend him because he is very caring towards his students.
Tougher class than past semesters, with midterm avg 55 and final avg of a 65, and no curve. That being said, Tashbook is a wonderful, clear lecturer, and quite literally the nicest professor you will ever find. The class is doable with a lot of work. Just know, he's pretty unreliable by email, and assignments don't always follow the date posted.
Lecture slides are essentially word for word the textbook, quizzes are given everyday for attendance and they do count, homework were delayed and instructions are not clear. Do not, I repeat do not think about working with a friend on the HW or final project you will get reported for academic dishonesty. Over 50+ people were reported this semester.
There's no curve, he makes the class very tough, everything seems to be academic dishonesty to him, cancels a lot of classes, and he takes forever to grade assignments.
He is a nice guy, but he will never respond your email questions or piazza questions. He may be a good professor, but he is absolute not a good instructor or a good teacher.
I don't know how's his 101 class, but he's definitely not a responsible professor for CSE 114. His lectures were not amazing, but not super bad. I would give him a 2.5 out of 5 for his lectures. However, he's NOT a responsible professor!!!!!!!! He NEVER get anything done in time (e.g. post hw, update final grade)!! He NEVER response to any email!!
I took the CSE 101 in 2016. In my experience, he was one of the most caring professors. For me, he was much better than Fodor (who read everything form slides). I heard he was going through some health issues. Seeing all these bad comments below makes me sad. I think the CS department needs to fix their themselve as they are a total mess right now.
He has never replied my email so far. And the is not responsible as a teacher.
Just amazing
Tashbook never gave any curve to his classes, he's a tough grader, if you want to get a good GPA, avoid him.
I took his CSE 114 in 2017. He is a really tough grader and give a lot of assignments. However, his lecture is really detailed. He made every difficult concepts easier to understand. You will spend a bunch of time on his course and his class is totally not a good choice if you want take it for credits.
He gives very detailed lectures but cancels classes and office hours very often. Always sending messages and assigning assignments past midnight. Not only does he assign homework late, but always grades labs and homework late. Though he is a pretty nice and caring person, just an irresponsible professor.
He cancelled class all the time, gave tests the ta's all said were too hard, gave 1 homework in october and the other 8 in the last week up to finals all at once, homeworks that the ta's said were more advanced then what they were doing in their current classes, the first exam was horrible and he apologized, and then made the second one even harder
The CS final has ended for almost three weeks, and he posted that I failed two labs. However, there's no time for me to revise my lab works. Even though the class is not that hard, but he always postpone to post the grades, and make you have no time to revise it.
Sometime he will cancel the class, but the slide for one to learn is clear. Be prepared to put your effort into this course, it is hard to get a good grade without working hard. I fail midterms and final but I receive an satisfied grade at the end because the curve is huge.
As a T.A. for this course, all the comments here are correct. But I think it's the department's fault for assigning material that's too hard, not his fault. Tashbook seems to care, but is just overloaded with work. As for the curve: if your avg. test score is 65%, your final grade will be 'A'. Only way to avoid this course: take the AP CS test.
He didn't take my year lightly. Beware!
Although I got an A in the class, it took him 3 weeks to post grades after the final exam. It was an easy class though: one homework, one paper, one final project...4 quizzes and an open book final exam.
Although there are complaints here about CSE 101 and 114, don't be afraid of Tashbook if you're taking CSE 312. He understands the material very well and is actually interested in teaching it. Unlike CSE101/114, Tashbook's expectations of us are reasonable. My only complaint is that he used pop quizzes to take attendance.
Made CSE 101, the ADVISORY PREREQUISITE to CSE114 so difficult that students were crowding his office hours in desperate attempts to complete the extremely difficult labs he assigned. He made this course so hard and it's the only other course for those hoping to major in CS without programming experience, destroying their dreams of majoring in CS.
This class is absolutely stupid, it is supposed to be an easy class but the content he teaches is not represented in the tests or hws, like the hws tests are much harder
unorganized
Tashbook's scoring standards are very strict, avoid him or your GPA will die.
Tashbook's courses are unorganized, his exams are very difficult, and he often gets sick for some reasons. I guess this may be related to his arrest for cruelty to animals (check news title: Couple faces charges after Suffolk SPCA finds cats living in filth).
He was pretty bad guys, sick everyday and give the grade randomly.
