Although it's been well over 10 years since I've taken his class, Dr. Tatum made a positive lasting impression on me.

He was an awesome teacher, really has some wonderful stories. If he wrote a book I would definetly buy it! Bery fascinating man!

He's a nut and has more tangetns than any one else I've taken a class from, but he gets the job done. His aprioach is often roudn about to the subject, but he tries and does a great job. don't take offence he lieks to joke around and you'll be fine.

Bro. Tatum is an awesome teacher. My class was at 8 in the morning, and i was actually motivated to go! Be prepared for a lot of discussion. He often goes off on tangents, but he makes learning and being aware of social problems really fun and interesting. Probably my favorite teacher here!!!!

Classes were interesting. Really cares about his student-is friends with everyone outside of class. Tells some crazy stories. His tests are really easy and it's very clear what will be on the tests. Not much homework. Great teacher.

This is the first class that I have taken that is fun. There is never a dull moment in Bro Tatums classses. He is psyched about his topics and teaches in exciting and fun ways. His style makes you want to learn. One problem - He seldom lets class out on time.

Really great teacher. Attendance is not required but I would recommend you go to class. Has lots experience and knows what he's talking about. Test aren't bad because he lets you know everything that will be on it. A few outside assignments and the only homework he requires is to read your textbook.

My favorite professor! He is very "user friendly" and interested in success of students, however he doesn't give free passes. You'll get as much from class as you put into it. He is very knowledgeable and definately gives you your money's worth! I've had him for soc 112 & 120, and plan to have him again. His office door is usually open!

Dr. T is my advisor and my favorite teacher. He has an open door policy and is always there for his students. His classes are jam-packed with helpful info for life and his classes keep you thinking and have prepared me for moving on to grad school. He is one of the best.

Hilarious and enthusiastic. Has a textbook but you can get by using it very little. Not a difficult class at all but you can learn a lot. He gives you exactly what will be on the test it's just up to you to look it up in detail. Take notes and you'll be fine. He's very student friendly. Always willing to help. I'd recommend him anyday.

Tatum has lots of stories that are interesting. I wouldn't buy the textbook if I took it again. Only gave us one test in class. Make sure your cell phone is on silent! Tatum appears to be tough, but he is really a puppy dog.

In four years this is the best class I have ever taken. I wish I had taken it earlier because it gave me clarity in what I wanted to do with my life. The life planning modules and exercises and introspection on the important things of life gave me direction that no other class or teacher has ever given me. This class should be a requirement.

Great class. Assignments were meaningful and fun. He expects you to be responsible, and treats you as such. Most classes you come in and listen to stories and take notes. A book report is required at end of class. I learned about a lot of great leaders.

At first Brother Tatum was really intimidating, but he really isn't scary at all! He's extremely kind and cares a lot about how you're doing in the class. I saw an article in the university newspaper so checked this site out. The last review waS from someone in needI cranial enema. THIS class comeS alive wiht real life examples and from current events. Althouhg it is an early morning class I can't wait to get to it. Tatum uses real life examples to make his points. He expects you to come to class and be prepared and if you do you will be successful..The guy really cares about his students and if you show you care you will learn lots. This guy is the best! I was a communication major and bored until I took his SOC 357 class and converted over to sociology and criminal justice. Dr. Tatum knows his stuff and presents it with real life experiences and examples and such. He is also hilariously funny and makes learning very enjoyable.

This class is a real life class that I'm taking along with the 120 class. Dr. Tatum is tough in tersm of the number of assignments, but I can see that it will prepare me for the real world and to be successful in my career and life. I'm taking this class at the same time as the intro to criminal justice class and I've loved both classes. He is a very good teacher and I recommend the class.

Tatum is one of my favorite teachers on this campus. All you have to do is ask for help and he's really easy to work with. Attendance usually isn't required, but if you miss class you will fail it. Everything on the test he says in class. He gives real life experience in his lessons. Those of you who don't like him are crazy. He's funny too!

Amazing class. Very experienced teacher. I've learned so much and Dr Tatem made the class fun and enjoyable.

Very caring teacher, very knowledgeable about the subject. That being said if you don't like to write a lot don't take this class. Gives "GONGS" instead of tests, a very repetitive writing assignment ending up at between 5-8 pages if done correctly (not including articles). We had three of these to due in a week and a half.

If u want to learn anything in his class share ur opinion, and ask questions. Participation for him is very important. Brother Tatum is an easy going teacher and will tell you if your on the right track or he'll guide you in a new direction and you won't even know it. He makes you think about stuff. He'll tell you the truth if your wrong or right.

My favorite professor. He makes the class useful for life and practical, but he has rules and you don't want to cross him. If you want to learn he is the best, but stay away if you have an attitude. He is a moral and political conservative which is rare in this department. Come to class, take notes and you will do great.

Hes not really hot - actually fat and balding, but he is a great teacher. I took the class to fill my schedule, but now i'm considering having a career in corrections. Good class and a top teacher. There is lots of analysis by class discussion and writeups.

Excellent Teacher, loves the material, expects a lot from students. One of the most time consuming and informative classes for coursework. It's hard but you learn a ton. Teacher willing to work with any student on any assignment. Teacher meets during any office hours, will work around any family or medical emergencies you may have.

If you want to work in the justice system, especially as a cop, this is a great class. Tatem cares and he even wrote a couple of great letters of recommentation and helped me find a good paying job. This guy is the very best.

Looking back ,Taterman was my favorite because he really cared about me and the rest of the students. Because of his background he brought the stuff we talked about in class to life and made it real and applicable to real life. He treats his students life adults and not his "pal" life some of the other teachers do and he doesn't play mind games

Of all the classes at BYU-Idaho Brother Tatum was the best! He inspired me to go on a mission and now 10 years later I'm going to graduate school. Tatem qas my favorite professor. I just got promoted to Sgt and made detectives. I owe so ,much to him and his insights. I still use the notebook that we made in class. he always told us to keep a prayer in our heart and stay true to the Gospel. CTR. That advice has helped me in my career.
