Very good teacher. Says "huh?" alot!! Attendance is not mandatory. Loves nursing and physical therapy students. Come to class to get notes from lectures though!! Test is easy, he reviews book questions on the test before hand. Your choice to take final. I enhoyed this class and him teaching alot. VERY ENERGETIC for his age!!

Misha Thackery was and continues to be a great teacher. I took this class out of necessity but I've enjoyed every moment. Attendance isn't mandatory but he does use them for half of the test material. The other half is Text reading. Very entertaining and energetic fellow. This is deffinately his calling! Great class!!

He has umm.. lots of energy. =) You'll almost never get bored from his lectures, they are quite interesting 98% of the time. His tests are easy he gives a study guide the class before and you just have to find the answers in the book! I highly recommend this course!

Thackery is a very animated lecturer...his tests can be a little hard but it was not a bad class. I would recommend it to someone else.

HARD teacher. assigns 3 essays but knows nothing on due dates/grading refers you to other teacher. on essays you have to have perfect grammar.just come 4 test review days and get a friend who has the class the day b4 to give you the tests and you'll pass. misha HATES students who try to ask Q's or make comments. He also will brag all about himself.

Thackrey is an energetic professor and is very clear. Like he always says, "My class is not a Calculus class where it's hard. If you do the work and receive passing grades, you'll pass." He's also very nice & helpful. Overall, I enjoyed his class with satisfaction. If you want to take Psych 10, I recommend that you all take it with Thackrey! :-)

Anyone with an average I.Q will find his intro class relatively easy. Attending his class is a must. His test are not bad. Class is interesting and so are the videos. He is a Martial Arts Master (like a 6th degree) so make sure not to mess with him lollol.

This teacher is CRAZY lol. hes very energetic and fun but does some crazy stuff sometimes. his lectures are mostly cool i hardly ever got bored but i hated the book! and you HAVE to read it. his tests are hard if you dont read the book! this class also requires 5 out of class experiments and 4 Papers (2 rough, 2 final) which are annoying.

This teacher is SUPER fun!! His lectures are great. You have to go to class to take notes because what he says is on the test. You also have to READ the book!! That is also a big part of the test. Other than that you should be fine!

This class is such an easy class and I recommend taking it! While he seems a little crazy sometimes the tests are very easy and so are the essays. Don't buy the book I didn't and I'm doing fine in the class!

Great professor. I really learned alot from his teaching. He is very nice, doesn't care what you do in his class (other hw) as long as you keep quiet and listen to his lecture. Very understanding and is willing to help in any way.

This guy enjoys teaching. Sometimes he gets a little racy, but just go into it with an open mind and you'll be fine. His classes are really fun to go to and the tests are very easy. You don't have to read the book, just the summaries of each chapter and you're fine.

This professor is my all time favorite. He is very energetic and fun to listen to. his lectures are interesting and actually useful. the hw is min including two simple essays and being involved in psych experiments. the tests are easy as long as you pay attention which you will enjoy doing. don't listen to anyone who says something bad about him.

My favorite class yet. Easy. loved going and i had it for three hours at a time. Tests are easy straight from lecture and the questions from the book are usually from the summary and trail markers. Definately recommend. oh and hes CRAZY but fun!

Final exam was a compilation of previous tests. Required to participate in 5 psych experiments and write 2 3-pg papers. I looked forward to going to class.

He is a really entertaining teacher. This is a really easy class and I definitely recommend everyone to take Psych 10 with him. His lectures are so interesting. Overall, he's awesome!

He is so funny. He entertains you like crazy, I could listen to him for hours. We never used the book in class. He seems as if he was attractive while young.

Thackery is a great person. He knows so much more than you may think. He loves telling stories of his past and also talking about his Martial Arts School. Tests are easy, no quizes, no papers, no homework. Just show up to tests/class ON TIME. Perfect attendance means 10% added to your final grade. TAKE HIM!!!

Misha Thackrey is AMAZING. Super entertaining. I never read the textbook, you do however need to read the summaries at the end of the chapters before all tests because he pulls questions out of his lectures and the summaries of the textbook chapters. He is awesome and super intelligent.

Very funny and entertaining. Reading textbook is a must if you want to score high on exams. I didn't read the book and didn't take advantage of his extra credit, so I got a high B in that class. If only I had done the extra credit!!

Fun class. Definitely need to read the textbook. At least the chapter summaries. Go to class and pay attention the exams aren't too bad as long as you do. For the final he pulls questions from past exams

This professor is great! He tells wild stories to keep you interested, but everything he says is relevant to his lecture and he is very smart. He is strict on testing (like having an ID and being on time) but that's reasonable.

Very smart professor. He is a great professor with a good sense of humor and interesting stories that sometimes are not true lol I think sometimes he just make stories lol Anyways, gives 4 test throughout the semester. He gives you a chance to use a cheat sheet by writing all the things you want to write on a page of paper. So you'll be fine.

I wouldn't recommend him.. His lectures are bull.. most of it is his opinion. You could read and study the let me stress this LONG chapters and still get a bad grad on the test and the WRC is annoying the grade papers way to hard..

Easy "A". Misha is a great instructor. A bit off the wall, but extremely intelligent. You can use 1 page of notes on every test except the final-but those questions are pulled from previous exams verbatim. This class will help steer you in the right career direction. His Tae Kwan Do school is great, too! Only downfall is he monitors attendance.

Dr. Thackrey knows his stuff. He may not be an easy professor but I learned alot from him. Half of each exam comes from the textbook and the final comes from the previous exams.

Misha appears to be high every class lecture,but he knows what he is talking about.Read the book, take your own notes. He lets you use a page of notes(of any size) for evry test including the final which you can just copy previous test Q&A.Be early for exams make up tests are hard and he closes the doors. Good Luck.

EVERYTHING he talks about in class is on the test. It could be a stupid story, a dumb opinion, or something actually from the textbook, its all on the test. Write down pretty much everything he says on notes and thats most of the test.

Excellent teacher, best I've had so far because I learned so much. Not only did he deliver the information well and keep it interesting but he was able to justify the things he was teaching, as he had lots of experience in the psych field. Definantly take this class!

He is really fun! He knows what he talks about he loves Psychology and karate, so you always see him in his lounge wear. Test are easy, he lets you use a page of notes !Test are always 1/2 from the book and half from lecture. Attendance isn't mandatory, but the are fun to attend. There is an online "lab" you have to earn credits for the course.

Really fun professor. Very active, moves around a lot. Makes it hard to look at him if you're a visual learner. Tests are easy, and like the comment said, you get to use a page of notes. The page of notes could be as long as you want it, but it has to be 1 page. I recommend this professor.

Misha is great! He makes the subject very interesting, and he doesn't care if you sleep in class, eat, or text as long as you are quiet. His tests are 50% lecture and 50% book questions. The reading material is interesting most of the time, and the material isn't very difficult. I highly recommend if you're considering Psych, you take it with Misha

Not afraid to tell about his past LSD use and how little its affected his professional life (Dr./ Counselor/ med device inventor)[whether tru or not, definately got everyone's full attention lol]. I had no interest in Psych10 before he put his spin on it, now fav class

Attendance not required but half of the test is off lecture and the other half is off readings assigned in the book. Simple tests. Only 3 multiple choice tests and 1 final with the questions pulled from previous tests. He's pretty chill, makes class interesting and fun to go to, wakes morning classes up! Recommend him!

Fun class, funny teacher. Lots of amusing stories and experience in the field. His exams are based half on lecture, half on notes, so you MUST attend class (or copy good notes) and read the book. His final was just a bunch of questions from previous exams, so easy to pass. He takes student volunteers to proctor other exams, good for resumes.

First of all if people wrote bad things about Thackrey that is because they were dumb not to follow directions or read the text book. Professor Thackrey is really cool, funny, and intelligent. He makes class super fun; I was never bored in his class it was my favorite class! He is an inspirational professor and I have nothing negative to say.

Michael and Misha= same person. Prof Thackery is a fair prof. His lectures are very interesting. Attendance is not mandatory but I wouldn't want to miss it. Exams are based on lectures & book. I got D's on my exams but passed the class with a B because of the writing class online & extra credit. Do extra credit, so worth it. final is super easy!

If you have a mind for psychology, this class is a breeze! Attendance is not required but lecture questions are half of the tests. The final is the EASIEST, it is based on the questions from the 3 midterms. This class is simple: Go to class, read the book, even if you suck at psych you can pull a B!

Great guy and interesting lecture. To pass his class you MUST read the book. No HW just all 4 tests. No enough points to get the grade you wish. If you fail on of his test then you probably wont get an A. Tests are unfair because you dont know what could be on the test from the book. Take a different Psych teacher.

Great professor! 3 midterms 1 final. The 3 midterms are 40 questions (half from lecture/half from the book) Just read and get familiar with the txt. Attendance is not mandatory but you should at least get notes from a friend if you miss class. He's hilarious. One thing though, DO THAT EXTRA CREDIT. It's worth 1% and you can do as much as you want.

Write down everything he says in class. can retake exam if you fail it the first time at the testing center durin' your own time. read the text book and take good notes though. can use a 5X8 note card only now, which is enough. he's very fun and crazy. the writing portion is easy. do at least 5 experiments (surveys) online or at school.

Easy class, if you let it be. I made the mistake of not taking the book seriously and not reading it. He lectures in an understandable, and fun way. But a lot of questions are from the textbook reading. SO READ! Final is a mash up of the 3 tests it's easy to Ace that. But the reading is important.

I took this class my first freshmen semester which was a semi-good idea. Honestly: he is a funny guy, passionate about his subject, and attendance is not mandatory but I do suggest you come so you can have notes.Read the book! Use your resources/outside help when doing the writing part. There's optional xtra credit too. Makes class very interesting

Honestly, this is college. If you can't read a book you shouldn't even be there. The actual wording on the test is straightforward. The book questions are sometimes hard, but they are not impossible. read the damn book and stop complaining that he doesn't hold your hand.

Very knowledgeable, very entertaining, very quirky. However, if you value your high GPA I wouldn't take a chance on this class. His tests are half lecture (the easy part) and half book questions (not at all easy) If you can read 200 pages and remember random arbitrary details, go for it. It is VERY hard to get an A on his tests.

I have really loved his lectures. he's interesting, funny and very knowledgeable and this class is super informative if you are thinking of going into the field. The great shame is that his tests are hard. I have a 4.0 and I'm getting my first EVER B in his class. This makes me sad:(

Great professor, very knowledgeable. If your childish and not devoted to your studies than I can guarantee you will not do well in any of this man's classes. You will have to read through a few chapters per test, nothing unreasonable. Psych 10 was designed to weed out all the casual psych majors, this class is designed to give career direction.

He is the most entertaining professor around. But you have to read! Lots of reading and listening. Also he is super picky about how you write your name on your scantron. He has no problem failing you if he can't read your name.

Professor Thackrey gives amazing lectures but his tests are killer. He doesn't go over anything from the book, you must do it on your own and it is very very crucial for tests. He gives extra credit opportunities. If you want a passing grade I recommend attending lectures. Very entertaining and enjoyable class.

4 exams + paper. Research points very easy, sign up in time and turn in each draft of the paper in on time. For exams, make sure you read the book. Read each chapter more than once to understand. He offers extra credit by going to his martial arts studio,i recommend doing so. If i didn't attend extra credit i wouldn't have gotten a B, good luck.

It's not hard. You just have to read basically. If you do bad on the exams, there's always a makeup exam which is way easier and I honestly feel that it's a complete joke. LOL. But he's a great teacher but his exams are pretty hard if you don't read.

I really enjoyed taking this course with Thackery. Reading is a must and it will help you with his tough exam. Did bad on the exam? Take the make up that he offer its easier! I enjoyed this class. He laid out systems of learning while we learned, that was very helpful. You can take this information with you to other courses. Appeared to be assessing student body (he is psychologist) and I believe this should have been consented to before hand.

If you've taken Psych 10 from Thackrey then this class will be a huge review. There is no study guide for the tests but the tests are set up the exact same as his Psych 10 class. Attendance is huge though and can really help your grade. Answer questions in class and you have a chance of extra credit. Also VISIT his Martial Arts School!

I really enjoyed it, he never really plans what he's going to say which makes it fun to hear but you do have to pay attention to distinguish between class notes and regular conversation. Just make sure you stay on top of reading for the exams and do the extra assignments needed for your overall grade(essay, and experiments).

Weird but really smart hippie. Doesn't take attendance but attending class is important b/c his exams are 50% based off his lecture and 50% based off the book that you have to read on your own time. Sign up for extra credit and don't be late to it! I attended 2 extra credits and it brought my grade from a mid B to an A. Class based on 4 exams.

REALLY QUIRKY GUY. Hes nice; however, lectures are off topic most time but definitely still take notes bc exams are 1/2 from lectures and 1/2 from book. There are diagrams and summaries in the textbook so note taking should be easy. You get 10 points extra credit if you go to his taekwando academy and write a response about it. (Free for students)

If you want an easy A with minimal work, this is not the class for you. If you actually WANT to learn about Psychology, you need to take Misha's class. His class prepared me for grad school more than any other class I took at FSU. He is also VERY well known in the Psych community, so his recommendation means A LOT. By far the best professor at FSU

Prof Thackrey gave great lectures and was very funny, although his lectures do not directly correlate with the textbook but more with applying them to real life. Super interesting, relaxed, funny guy, lecture super interesting, accessible & practical. Lots of EC, which involves his martial arts dojo. Tests are STRICT. Has an extremely strict set of rules for them, a page or so in the syll, which he enforces literally. Some ways you WILL fail an exam: being late, forgetting a pencil, writing your name wrong.

You are basically writing down what he says in lecture as his exams are based on lecture material and from the textbook. He does not take attendance but it is recommended to go to pass the exams. Hilarious professor, but did not feel engaged.

Misha is such an amazing professor, hes nice, and lectures were quite funny. Exams were half lecture/half textbook. Read and though attendance isnt mandatory, you need to know what he talks about in lecture for the exams. Offers lots of extra credit opportunities, take them. 3 exams, 1 final, & the WRC. Not super easy, but doable A. I recommend

Dr. Thakery is a straightforward prof. His lectures are very informative and interesting. 4 exams, one final, and WRC (another portion of this psych class). In each exam, there will be 40 questions, 20 from lec and 20 from textbook. Read textbook on your own, he doesnt cover any text info in class. Take good notes in lec as it will be on the test.

He's extremely funny and makes the class very interesting and enjoyable. His lectures are live but he also posts them on youtube if you missed the class. Theres a quiz every 2 weeks but it's open note. You also have to take a WRC class with it, requires 1 essay and 9 research "credits" , it's not hard at all.

Misha is an amazing professor! Since it was online he had a bit of trouble figuring out zoom and screen sharing but he got the hang of it in my opinion! His lectures were relatively light, he just went over the chapters you were suppose to read. There was a quiz every other week and they were all open notes & multiple choice.

This class was pretty easy and he's a funny Prof.! You do not need the book. He holds zoom at class time but uploads them on youtube. 8 quizzes, one final, One paper (two drafts and final draft), and you also have to participate in studies which were just surveys since its all online.

I honestly liked this class because he made the lectures interesting. He wouldn't just read off the PowerPoint as other teachers would. He gave his input which is why you need to attend class because he discusses things that aren't in the PowerPoints but they will be on the quizzes. Although you do have to do the reading he breaks it into chunks.

Thackrey is a great professor that always makes lectures engaging. I highly recommend taking him if you get the chance. There is a quiz every other week(easy). There is no homework. I took Prof. Misha Fall 2020. He had a synchronous class, but attendance was not mandatory. But literally whatever he taught was on the weekly quizzes. His lectures are fascinating and helpful. The Final was basically questions from all the quizzes you had taken. I recommend you take him, an amazing professor.

I thought I would have a hard time with this class but genuinely this is the nicest and funniest professor I have taken so far. He can relate to the students and his lectures are very interesting. 7 quizzes and a final. The final has questions that are from previous quizzes, very easy. Definitely would take again in the future 10/10 would recommend

He is super laid back and never really forced you to attend his lectures. He always sent the slides he would read off which is just info from the textbook. His lectures are definitely worth going to he provides useful videos related to the chapter. The grades mostly came from quizzes. Definitely would take one of his classes again

During his nonmandatory zoom lectures, he is super funny! Every lecture he curses about struggling on how to use zoom and posts them after he is done. This is a shocking change since I am taking it in my first semester and in HS, teachers had to keep it PG. Quizzes and exams are all open notes, so there is no reason to not get an A.

This man is insane first off, but in a good way. I absolutely loved this class because he makes the topic of psychology interesting and hilarious. He lectures and discusses the content and wants you to read the book. Then he quizzes you on the content and then the cycle continues. He loves psych and you can hear it when he speaks. Take him.

Professor Thackrey is a great professor! His lectures are interesting and he has a humorous personality. The Zoom meetings arent mandatory but Id recommend attending as the material he talks about are on quizzes. He posts videos of the zoom meetings to Canvas so you can rewatch on your own time. There are 7 quizzes but theyre easy and open note.

Got an A. There is 7 quizzes and a final exam that have 20 questions each. The final is easy since its based off of questions from the quizzes. They have no time limit, are open notes, and no lockdown browser. There is a wrc portion, I would suggest to reach out to your reader and seek for advice and guidance and follow the rubric and steps!

Professor Misha was such a good professor. No homework, only some quizzes but are easy if you attend zoom and read the ppts he posts. Only thing this class comes with a WRC course, which is a lot of writing. Overall, I recommend taking him, easy A.

He has long lectures mainly because he goes off on tangents. He is very passionate about PSYCH, therefore if you pay attention it will all make sense to you because of how he explains it. If you skip class, quizzes will be difficult to take.

Take Professor Thackrey's class!! I loved his class, not only is the course material interesting but he also tells stories about his experience as well. His class is very easy, only 7 quizzes every other week and a final. No papers and attendance is optional. He also gives out lots of extra credit if you're participating in class. Passing is easy.

I took Dr. Thackrey for psych 10 and abnormal psych. He's a great lecturer and he's is always happy. He wants his students to learn and to pass. He bases all his test on his lectures and the reading from the books. I wish he has more courses! I would recommend him to all!

This class is super easy. He's funny, pretty easygoing. There is a quiz every other Friday, open book, open note, no time limit. He posts notes for his lectures, so you can scan those and the book for answers for the quizzes. I would recommend going to his classes for entertainment and because it can be helpful for the quizzes.

Best class ever! attendance not mandatory he goes through books and posts slides that goes over his lectures it's so helpful for the quizzes that you take every other thursday (tues/thurs class) and on quiz days he doesn't hold class so this is an amazing class with a busy schedule.

I took Psych 10, it was an easy class. As long as you pay attention in the lecture and take notes, the weekly quizzes are a breeze. The only thing that was difficult was the WRC portion of the class. The peer reviewers are ruthless and will grade harshly. Also if you're taking this course, set reminders for the essay times for WR!

Loved this class. I took it early and missed multiple classes and it didnt even affect my grade. He posted the notes for all chapters incase u had missed any lectures and is very helpful. There is an essay component with another professor, so beware of the due dates. Only 2 rough drafts, final essay, and maybe 8 quizzes. Highly reccomend!

Tests are easy as long as you pay attention or read the textbook. Cancels class on test days. Shows lots of videos during his lectures related to the topic.

Super Easy!! Gives extra credit for simple things like finding his pen or answering questions! No class on test days. Attendance was optional he posts his notes online also don't buy the text book its accessible online or he'll send a link to it for free. There's a final but its like any other tests 20 questions no time limit 20 points.

Professor Thackery slowly but surely became one of my favorite lecturers I have ever had. He has fun with his lectures, but at the same time explains things pretty good. All the quizzes are online and based on what is discussed in lecture. Extra credit is offered if you participate in lecture. Easy A.

Amazing professor! Attendance is not mandatory, the class does come with a research component that needs to be done in order to pass the class. All test are online, class is canceled on test days, textbook is mandatory BUT you can find it online for free.

Super easy class. The only thing thats in the grade book are 5 quizzes and the final but they are open notes and online on your own time. Theres a writing component to the class so you need to write a essay in 3 drafts and also have 9 research credits. Easy to do these things and you will do great as long as you turn your essay and credits on time.

Attendance is mandatory bc gives you a paper in the beginning to sign and return back to him at the end of class. His lectures are funny he explains abnormal psychology with his own personal experience as well as videos. Exams are online and are open book! He is funny & keeps it interesting! he's really laid back and funny it's a huge class and he makes lectures interesting did take roll in the beginning but then changed it to online, 7 quizzes, 1 final exam all online, 1 written paper for WRC 3 drafts of it not bad at all, 9 research credits just take a bunch of online surveys they offer a pretty chill class.

He is one of the best professors ever! He is so hilarious and kindhearted. His lectures were amazing, always enjoyed every morning session. His tests were open book and notes. One WRC writing & psych. research credits which were easy, clear in criteria. If I can turn back in time to retake his class, I would.

Dr. Thackrey is an eccentric individual, in a good way. His lectures are always interesting. He has bi-weekly quizzes that are taken outside of class, these are based entirely on lecture notes. Homework assignments are unrelated to lecture. If you want a funny and passionate professor, he's your guy. My one piece of advice is take good notes.

He is the best psychology professor I've had at Fresno State. He makes learning enjoyable. For attendance, you need an iClicker remote, which is 25% of your grade and can greatly impact your score. Homework also accounts for 25% and is manageable with the textbook. Quizzes are based on lectures and should be easy if you attend regularly.

Professor made lectures really interesting and funny but was also really passionate. An iclicker is needed for attendance and homework was based on the readings. Every other Friday there is no class and you have a quiz, but they weren't hard. There was also a paper and research credits which were easy as long you remember due dates.

Go to lectures and take good notes, all quizzes will be based solely on lecture. Will iClick in/out of class so you need to be on time. About every third Friday you will have off for online quiz at home. Final exam is 40 questions pulled straight from these quizzes. Weekly textbook hw assignments that are not difficult. One of the best psych profs at Fresno State! Only negative is that attendance is worth 60% of your grade, but he's so funny and his lectures are so interesting that you'll want to come to class! HW is based on the book, and quizzes/exams are open note and based on the lectures, so make sure to take notes!

Attendance is absolutely mandatory but doesn't care if you sleep or are on your phone the whole time. Lectures are really interesting/understandable if you just listen. He's funny and fair on grading. Gives you lots of extra credit opportunities. ex: raising your hand and trying to answer, or wiping his whiteboard when class ends.

Attendance is mandatory but very very crucial if you want to get a good grade. To get a good grade all you need to do is to take good notes during lectures, do the quiz every other Friday (very easy and based on lectures), do the online textbook homework (just answering questions), the essays and research critiques. around 20 min outside class.

Very very easy, over half your grade is on attendance with clicker but you just need to be there, every other Friday there are timed quizzes that are solely based on lectures so take good notes. Offers extra credit every single day by just answering his questions. Taking this class will not stress you out whatsoever, just take good notes!!!

His class was easy, the only hard part is the iclicker for attendance bc he only gives u 15s to check in or else ur cooked. My grade went from a 95% to a 80% all because I missed one day, so yeah pretty harsh. WRC and research credits are the main projects for this class. You'll get it done tho. Pretty sure other psych classes do the same as well.

This is a good class and entertaining but I want to put some tips so you know what to expect: don't miss class ever (attendance=60% of grade), 8 quizzes & final from them (all info's from lecture so listen). DONT FORGET ICLICKER. Have physical one on 1st day and don't let it die it counts as absence. If you can do all this you'll get an A!

Literally such an easy A if you just attend class. He does have an online quiz every week based on the textbook, but it isn't difficult at all. The one thing I will say, if you take this professor, another part of your grade will have to do with separate WRC professors, where you write 3 heavily graded papers within the course, but overall easy!

Easiest class you could ever take. All he does is talk the whole class. You have online quizzes every other week so you don't have to go to class. Hw every fridays but it's only worth a point. You'll never discuss the textbook material, you'll only use it for hw, but even then you still don't use it that much. Grade is mostly made up of attendance.
