Great Professor! The paper is a major part of your grade and is about 12 pages. If you don't like talking in class about the subject this class is not for you. Class discussion is also part of your grade. Make sure you can back up your argument with facts

He is a great professor. Will keep you interested and involved all the time. He will help you in any way that you can. But...he only has three tests--no daily grades or participation or quizes. If you do bad on one or two of them...like I did...you will be screwed on the last test. But a great guy.

This man is very passionate about his job. He will make you reconsider on what your major may be. Hearing him speak makes you want to be in his shoes. There is zero homework. Take notes every day but not many. Read your book here and there on parts you are unclear about or talk to him. TAKE IT!!!!!!

Professor Tkacik is one of the best teachers at SFA. His class is very interesting and you are never bored. You have 3 test but if you just read the book and take notes in class you will make a good grade. TAKE THIS MAN, HE IS A GREAT TEACHER. HE IS SO GOOD I THOUGHT ABOUT CHANGING MY MAJOR TO POLY.

Tkacik is a great teacher. He is willing to help all students. Tkacik left a high paying job (lawyer) to become a professor. He makes class very fun and interesting. I had him for 141 and 142 and it was always enjoyable. Take this teacher.

Tkacik keeps things interesting. if he notices that the class is bored or falling asleep, he will change the subject and talk about some random thing. He is a lot of fun.

The person who wrote that this was a hard class must either not pay attention or didn't go to class. You do actually have to study the material, but it isn't a hard course. He is a wonderful guy, very funny and will get to your level to make sure you understand it. Just study a little bit, it's not that hard.

This guy was awesome, even though I skipped a bunch of class at the beginning and got in trouble, he still didn't hold a grudge against me as I brought my grade from an F to a B+ the last 6 weeks. You can learn alot from this man and he relates things well.

Tkacik is hillarious! He is a great teacher and when he feels the class is bored he talks about random stuff to get you interested again. I had to study a lot for his tests and he DOES take questions from the book to make sure your reading. He doesnt give a review but will give a little extra credit. He likes class participation!

Dr. Tkacik is a really great lecturer. I usually tend to doze off during lectures, but he really kept my interest. He gives credit for participation in class, meaning speak at every chance you get. His tests are hard, but i think a little reading and studying would solve that. His tests are about concepts and actually understanding the material.

Dr. Tkacik is a very entertaining man. Today, he knocked over the podium to prove a point, spilling his tea everywhere. He does his best to make it an interesting class and knows his stuff. His tests are all multiple choice and he gives about five extra credit opportunities. His final is also not cumulative:) The tests are hard but it's worth it.

HE IS THE MAN!!!! Never met a guy like Tkacik before. He taught me alot about the school and how to make it in college. I was honored to have him as an SFA 101 instructor. I wouls also recommed him for PSC 141 or 142 or any other class he teaches.

Yes test are pretty hard. Good teacher..bad subject. Take good notes is about all you can do to be ready for test and ask questions. Just me but i also took history with this class this semester and found it easier to understand a bit. The history class kept me refreshed on important names, dates, and events.

He is the best teacher you could ever have. He does crazy stuff like throwing the poduem over in the middle of lecture. You must read the book and study for his tests but he gives lots of extra credit and he is just a blast.

Dr. Tkacik is an excellent teacher. I highly recommend taking him for this class. He knows his stuff, his lectures are very interesting, and he makes his class non-threatening so you won't feel afraid to participate in discussion. His tests are not to be taken lightly, you must read the text and study your notes. He does some give extra credit.

I highly recommend him to all students. Hes funny, witty, knows his sh*t, entertaining and fun, understanding, cute and over all superiffic! Most of the time you will leave his class with a smile on your face and/or talking about his lectures for the rest of the day.

I miraculously made a B in this class. If you are struggling you should DEFINITELY go talk to him and he will help a bunch. I would've gladly taken a C in this class and still would take him again because even though I did not understand the material, he was just so dang entertaining and hilarious!!! This is a great professor. The material in this class can be confusing, but he'll help you through it. He's got an SI to help too. And he's so hilarious that you'll never fall asleep in class. I'd recommend him to anyone who needs to take political science.

Political science 142 is rough--the material's boring as the day is long. But Dr. Tkacik made it bearable. He was full of good examples and stories to ease understanding, and it doesn't hurt that he's a nice fellow. There's no homework and attendance isn't mandatory. The four tests aren't curved and come mainly from lecture, but read the chapters.

I took him for 141 and 142 and I wouldn't have chosen anyone else. I waited a year just so I could take him for 142. His class isn't a blow off class and his tests aren't easy but he is A GREAT person and loves what he does. You don't find many professors at SFA that do a good job and love what they do at the same time. TAKE HIM!!

Probably one of my favourite teachers. I absolutely DESPISE Political Science but he actually makes it very interesting. If you don't enjoy the subject I guarantee you will enjoy him at least.

Tkacik (pronounce Kay-sic) is an interesting professor. Although he seems vulgar, he actually puts an interesting (satiric) take on the government. I would recommend this teacher for someone who is wants to laugh and learn at the same time

Tkacik is honestly a really great teacher. He cut down on the vulgarity, but he understands that it helps some people stay interested. He always has a smile on his face and practically begs the class to come by his office t review tests. He only has 3 tests including the final. Yes, you have to study and read, but that's what college is about.

Dr. T is one of the finest profs on campus! More than any other person I know, he is a thinker. His material is challenging, but rich. If you want to improve your mind, dive into his class.

i absolutely loved tkacik. he makes the material interesting, and always has a story to tell. attendance isnt mandatory, but i went to class to take notes anyway. i would wait until the night before to study for the tests, wouldnt read all the material and would make a high C. ended up with a B in the class. if you just read, youll do great.

Great professor! LOVED this class, always kept me laughing. Political Science is a boring course but Dr. Tkacik does his best to keep the students intrigued. He does tend to use profanity and over the top comparisons but it gets the point across. What helps if you record his lecture, take good notes, and read the chapters you should do great.

I absolutely love Tkacik. He is probably not only my favorite professor, but one of my favorite people. He is so genuinely nice and so funny. You can tell he is really passionate about teaching and makes political science easy to understand. I highly recommend him.

Tkacik is very funny and very intriguing. He brings a different pov to government. However, this course is lecture only;no powerpoints, only your hand written notes. Go to S.I. especially on review days, do the extra credit, and READ THE BOOK. There's only 3 tests and 20 points worth of extra credit, so the grade is dependent on your work ethic!

Best professor at SFASU. Hard tie with Lee Payne. If you get a chance to take his Foreign Policy or Terrorism class, DO IT. Do not take his class if you are not prepared to devote time to the class. You wont regret it. You will never look at altoids the same ever again. Ever.

He does lock the door when he lectures, when we have a test it's unlocked. Take notes in his class, write almost everything he says because it might be on the test. Read the book too, daily because that too will be on the test. Ask questions if confused, he'll answer it.

Dr. Tkacik is a good professor, but he only lectures. There is no visual aid to go with his lectures and if you don't typically learn just by listening, he is not for you. That was the only thing I did not like about him, but other than that he is a good professor. Attend SI's and read the book in order to do good in this class.

I am honestly thoroughly impressed with his teaching! This has always been a hard subject for me to understand, but he really breaks it down and makes sure it's comprehensible. He uses profanity, and some obscenities, but I think it's in a respectful manner. This guy is a really respectable, and intelligent man. I would totally recommend him!

He's an amazing guy/engaging and I took him because this site said to, and I regret it. He only gives 3 tests the whole semester so fail one and you probably won't get an A. It's mostly ALL LECTURE BASED, so even though he doesn't count attendance, if you skip you will miss material. He includes specific details from lecture on test questions.

I didn't think I was going to like this class but he was a great professor. With the way he lectures if you miss class you will be behind. He cares that you understand the material and will take time to re-explain if some don't understand. He's a wonderful person super funny! His class was so hard for me. I sat in the very front row and still didn't understand his lecture. I went to office hours which helped me a little but did not get the grade I wanted in the class. If you are a freshmen I would not recommend. We even had an Student Instructor for the class and that did not help.

Foreign Policy was the BEST class ever! So glad I took it. It's a grad level course but graded like any other undergrad course. If you plan on pursuing your education, this is a must take class. I'm getting my master's in IA currently and my International Affairs graduate course is so easy thanks to the lectures and readings in this class.

Dr. Tkacik (pronounced "case-ick", just trust me) is a great professor. His lectures are funny, he cares a lot about his students, and he explains things well. Personally I was in an honors section, but in my class the exams were essay tests (my only dislike of the course). He makes you read Catch-22, and the tests are just about all that's graded.

LOVE Dr. Tkacik! Participate in class for a good grade, but make sure it is on topic and constructive. There are only three grades in this class- I took it as an honors class. Pay attention to the small details because the exams are written. Tkacik is always willing to meet outside of class and office hours. Course is a tad difficult but worth it.

As long as you pay attention during his lectures and read over your notes before the test you will pass with a high grade. His lectures are funny and easy to follow. He stops to answer questions, re-explain, and summarize key points. Your only assignments are 4 tests that are 50 questions each. He has a text book, but you don't need it.
