Ok-this guy can't teach. He should not be a teacher at all. I think he's pretty smart in the math field, but he could care less about being a teacher and helping his students. He's very unclear in class and can't even follow his own thoughts. Tests are difficult and too long to finish in a 50 min. class. Good luck to you!

two words: HORRIBLE TEACHER. he really doesn't care if you learn or not, and he really doesn't want to help u if u ask. he speaks like you are already supposed to know everything about the material. just don't take his class, its a waste of time and effort.

Worst teacher I have ever had. I could not understand him half the time because he has a terrible speech impediment. He rambles on until you get confused and then he gets frustrated when he has to go over something more than once. He learns the names of the people that make good grades in his class--everyone else is just wasting his time.

An aweful teacher, not good at explaining, keeps you after class everyday, doesn't really care if you learn or not, his tests are extremely long, and are mildly difficult, he counts a lot of points for small mistakes such as not have a dollar sign or percent sign in your answer, I would definately recommend changing teachers for this course.

WORST TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD. he is not helpful at all, his lectures are awful, quizzes are hard, tests are impossible, and on top of all this the teacher is the biggest jerk alive. i had the second highest grade at 68, the highest grade in the class was a 71. nobody passes

the hardest class i've taken in college. only one person out of my class passed. he goes way too fast and it is hard to understand him.

He made me cry and called me a failure in front of the entire class. He has no soul. He is the reason some of my friends dropped out. He wouldn't even stay after class to explain problems. I had to miss a quiz because I had to take my mom to surgery and he didn't believe me and gave me a 0. Stay away

If you have to take unseren i would recommend just dropping out of school. He is probably the most confusing teacher i have ever had. If you have him all i can say is i hope your great at math.

He says useless comments like "its for the birds" and talks about his mother instead of math. He does not answer your questions directly and does not give examples.

The WORST teacher I have EVER had. He was so rude, did not help with anything, did not teach us, and never answered questions. He gets very off topic, is unbearably awkward, and he does not know how to talk to students.

He is extremely awkward and is not very helpful when explaining. He really tries but it just doesn't work for him. I would highly suggest getting another teacher.

I took Pre-Calculus thinking this is a good to take to get some knowledge before Calculus. Well that didn't happen. In fact the man made things I had already learned previously confusing. Has weekly 5 question quizzes that are hard, and the final is a cumaltive exam. I'm just glad that it was an A,B,C, no credit or I would have withdrawn.

I feel bad for the guy because he is nice but I believe Ut is doing its student body an injustice by letting him teach. He scribbled pages of notes like a mad man and I don't know that I ever understood one thing he taught. Always busy in the class 10 min late out of breath and frantic. He is a very poor teacher. Yes, I'm sure he knows his math very well, but his ability to teach it is terrible. Not only are you required to teach the information to yourself through videos, but he also will not answer questions. When he does, he speaks in a manner that is impossible to follow. It's painful and tiresome to try to learn in his class.

When it comes to a list of the worst professors I've had, this one tops the cake. Avoid this man, he is unclear, monotoned, and makes easy math harder than it needs to be. He is old so he can't work technology right, and he also uses weird sayings... you'll see if you have him. This guy means well, but he shouldn't be teaching.

He is very smart, but because of that, he can easily confuse people. If the class did not have videos I probably would not have done as well. He is a confusing teacher. You do lots of work sheets, but will get out of class early often.

On the first day of class I knew that it would not work out. Dr. Unseren seems likes a nice man but is not capable of teaching, much less in modern society. Waited 25 for tech support to get the projector to work. Spent the last 4 minutes of class cramming in a 15 minute problem. SAVE YOURSELF AND DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! I dropped it ASAP

I'm sure he is a math genius, but he's no genius when it comes to teaching. He came to class at least five minutes late almost every day. He always seemed anxious, and extremely socially awkward. He didn't do much for the class. He never actually graded anything. He didn't teach us much of anything either. I definitely wouldn't call him a "teacher"

Dr. Unseren is a nice man I believe. However, he does not know ANYTHING about technology, and he is a nightmare when it comes to asking for help. I would avoid him at all costs. He is so all over the place and cannot explain anything or help you with anything for that matter. It is very nerve racking to be in his class.

Unseren is nice but is unable to teach this generation. He is not able to use technology the way he expects his students to and never teaches anything himself. Be prepared to have to teach it to yourself. He also never replies to emails or comes to office hours. Please stay away from this professor unless you want to drop it and get no help.

Nice guy but bad professor. My first ever calculus class so I obviously needed help to understand the material, some people are acting like it's not his job to teach when it really is. When you go into any class, you expect the professor to provide help when you need it. While the class shouldn't be hard, it's not an "Easy A."

There goes my 4.0 GPA. Thanks Unseren. He doesn't even teach the class because we're supposed to watch our lectures. And when you ask him a question, you'll be even more confused than before. Absolutely avoid, don't make the same mistake we did. Idk why some people think it's his NOT job to teach us the material.

Unseren's class time consisted of break out rooms with mandatory google classroom assignments due 5 minutes after the end of class time. He is not accessible out of class and comes across very rude and unwilling to help when you do receive an email. He threatened to fail me on the first exam even when I turned in the necessary work. AVOID.

While the class was review for me from high school, and wasn't taught by him (REACT course) I would not take him again. He lost 4 of my groups papers and made us redo them on our own time. He won't notify you if he loses them. Not accessible outside of class . He also talks way too much about nothing that pertains to the course. Wouldn't recommend.

It was so bad I wanted to give it a zero but thats not possible. Therefore, Ill give it a 1/5.

Very unclear over expectations. Will not answer emails. Very tough grader not much partial credit. Tests are unnecessarily difficult. Will give out random canvas quizzes late at night, and make them due early the next day. He does not create the notes, gets them pre filled in from another professor. Impossible to take notes in the class, either covering the paper, doesn't have the paper centered on the camera, or moves on too fast. Doesn't answer questions in class well. Do not take Unseren with this course. He is constantly talking about birds and Isaac Newton instead of teaching. He is always late to class then keeps you ten minutes over. He messes up solving problems a lot, so student have to correct him. He is a very nice person but never responds to emails and loses assignments.

Hardest class I have ever taken in my life and it wasn't even because of the material. Unseren literally just does not know how to teach, and the class suffered for it. His notes are more focused on how not to do problems than how to do them so you never actually learn. Most of the "learning" is in the 5 minutes he holds the class over everyday.

He is rough. Don't take him. He just simply reads off the department lecture notes and rewrites them. He is extremely difficult to understand. He is basically a talking textbook. Tests and Quizzes are hard and the homework load is ridiculous. I honestly lost him about 3 chapters ago and have had to teach myself the material. Pick another professor.

This class was horrible. Unseren is scattered, always late to class, and asking for help is like pulling teeth. I dropped this class with only three weeks left in the class. While he is nice enough and cares about you as an individual, he is probably the worst teacher I've ever had in my life. Do yourself a favor. AVOID HIM.

His tests are extremely hard and the homework assignments are extremely long. If you take this course with him you have to have time to teach yourself.

Unseren is a nice guy, but a horrible teacher. He read off other teacher's notes, wouldn't explain anything, couldn't answer/understand our questions, spent half the class rewriting what he did the day before OR skipped a few examples because he didn't know where he left off, and showed up/let us out late daily. My friends dropped. I taught myself.

It is so difficult to understand his lectures I learned most of the material on Youtube. He shows up late almost every class. He never posts lecture notes, always goes over on time, never posts practice exams, rarely does review before exams, or explains what we did wrong on the returned exams. If you have any chance, take another professor.

This guy is the worst teacher I have ever had. He is a sorry excuse of a professor, and I have learned nothing from him. He just clearly does not know how to teach. He doesn't even make his own notes and can't explain anything - even when we ask questions. I would rather drop out of college than have to take this man's class ever again.

Don't take Michal Unseren unless you like feeling confused and frustrated 24/7. You won't do good on the tests unless you teach yourself the material that should have been taught in class. I learned more calculus II from my calculus III class than I did in my calculus II class.

Yeah definitely listen to the other reviews for this professor. He is a nice man and he seems to have a passion for math, but it seems like he is on a different wavelength than literally everyone else. It feels like he expects everyone to just get what he is writing without actually explaining any of it. If you can, swap to someone else.

Dr. Unseren is a kind man, but he is a terrible teacher. He rambles in lectures and his notes are always a mess. He just confuses you more when you ask him to explain something. He very rarely gives partial credit on tests. He will count off points for correct answers if you don't solve it they way he wants. The only pro is he is funny sometimes.

Generally nice guy, but really needs to work on how to make a lecture coherent. Will write in a way to where you can't see what is actually written until he lifts up his hand so you have to write fast. Was so behind in course material that there were no quizzes before the last exams. Now have to spend even more money to retake 142. Not recommended

Beware of this professor! He is not well-respected and his lectures can be a torture of seventh degree. If you do take him, consider dropping the class. He is a kind person and doesn't want anyone to fail. On the other hand, he grades harshly and the amount of homework will keep you constantly behind. Avoid if at all possible!
