Not an extremely eaasy professor, but heis enjoyment of the material and his desire for you to enjoy the material was palpable. Nice as can be! Very detailed essays required, multiple choice & T or F questions on each test, also trick questions. 1 essay due in between each of the 4 tests. Grades hard on essays. Question of the day helps you if you are always right on time & hurts you if late or miss too many classes. Part of final consists of 2 essays & only counts as 1.

If you love to write essays, you are going to love this class. You write about ten total, and he gives you a choice of what topics to write about. Tests are not too bad. Very nice professor.

The best instructor I have ever had! I had no interest in psychology until his class. Now it is my favorite subject. Mr Vargo loves what he does and it shows. It is true that every test has an essay on it worth 30% of the test grade. Practice your essays and you'll be alright.

There is a lot of writing in his class. I took a 3 hour wed night class and he utilized the entire 3 hours and because of his quirkiness and personality my interest in lecture was never lost! He does make you do a research paper due and tests are half mult. choice and half 1 essay question with a long detailed response. Psychology 201 was cool.

Mr. Vargo is a wonderful teacher. He cares about his students, and enjoys teaching. I have had him for two classes and he makes psychology interesting. I took Abnormal Psy the 1st time he taught it and he does not baby students the way he does in Gen Psy, but it still was not a difficult class as long as you read the text. And he is hot!

Mr. Vargo was great. He gives you handouts with the terms for each test. BRING A TAPE RECORDER FOR TEST REVIEWS!! Only bad part was every test was half multiple choice and half essay. But he gives essay questions to you on first day of class and reviews each one for the test. Highly recomend to everyone!

Don't even think about taking this class in a summer condensed class. You have a paper due, and a test each week. It's a lot of writing. 4 papers and tests are half essay. The other half are multiple choice and are relatively easy, because he gives you the topics the day before the test. Loved the material, but had to work hard for my A.

He is very sexy, obviously worksout. He makes sure you know what is on each test. He gives you the essay topics at least a week in advance. He loves class participation and makes the class very interesting. Wish I had him for intro to psy. Strongly recommend Mr. Vargo for psy classes.

Great Teacher, but a lot of writing!!! Class is very interesting, but you have to do 3 or 4 papers (depending on if you do a class presentation) and each test has an essay question, the final has 2. Very time consuming especially during the 5 week class. Made an "A" but I had to work at it, luckily I can write well.

Mr. Vargo is a good teacher. This class was rough but I did a 5 week class. Tons of writing. I would not recommend a 5 week class with him unless you are extremely disciplined. Either way, he is a fair teacher and really nice.

I took 201 and 203 with Vargo. Both were very similar in requirements. As others have said, there's an essay portion to every test, but it's really not as bad as you think. Very clear instruction. 203 final has 2 essays 201 final is just 50 scantron. I made high A's in both classes fairly easily.

Vargo lectures alot. Pay attention on review days BRING A RECORDER he gives you the questions that'll be on the test and the answers. He also goes over EXACTLY what he wants on the essay. He also gives a review for the exam. Not a hard class, slightly boring on lecture days. Great teacher!

Good teacher. At first it seems the test will be hard because you have to write an essay for everyone, but he gives you EVERYTHING you need to know. No reason to not get an A.

This is a class you will have to study for, but he makes it extremely easy to understand by using applied examples for most of his lecture.

Vargo is flat out amazing. There's a lot of material to learn in class but he will prepare you for literally everything; papers, tests, exams..He tells you all that you need to know and is so helpful. if it tells you anything, his other class filled up so fast I couldn't get in it. he's popular for a reason: he's perfect.

He is a great teacher who gives review days before the test. He also gives you the essay questions before you start the chapter to give you time to think about which one you want to write. He lets you write your essays beforehand and then he edits them. Most people try to memorize what they wrote and his corrections for test day.

With still having the final exam to go & being back in school after 20 yrs...Mr Vargo's class is outstanding! Not only will you learn, you will retain a good bit of info. Love his style of teaching. Fun class and he goes the extra mile for your success. Just show up, listen and review your notes! EXCELLENT TEACHER & CLASS!!!!!

Good professor and likeable person. He spoonfeeds you everything, it's up to you to take advantage everything he gives you. One thing that is pretty hard about his class, are the test essays, I barely ever finished them on time. Get to his class 15 minutes early so you have plenty of time to do his essay. Other than that, pretty easy.

Mr Vargo is by far the best teacher I've had at tech. His lectures are interesting & he gives great examples. He has a review before the tests where he gives the essay questions & tells you how he wants you to answer them & then reviews all the questions that'll be on the test too. The only way to fail his class is to not go to class.

Professor Vargo really knows his stuff, so be prepared for some lengthy lectures where he will prove it. He keeps it interesting, though. He gives term lists and a choice of essay questions way in advance of tests, and also reviews beforehand. Be sure to read the chapters too. Applied questions on tests can be tricky if you haven't. Vargo is one of the BEST teachers!!! You really have to know your stuff for essays on tests to score high and that's not difficult given how well he presents the material and how fascinating this class is! I did extra credit presentation and I hate presenting but it was fun! I would take any and all classes he teaches. He shows real world examples.

Mr. Vargo was a pretty good teacher. He goes by the information and the definitions he tells you in class, not the definitions in the book. One long paper towards end of semester and he grades very harshly.

Great class and interesting lectures. If you show up on time everyday you get a grade for that and the work isn't too hard because he teaches and tells you almost exactly what you need, I plan on taking his 212 class

His class is a great class to start with if your a freshman. As long as you listen and take notes of some sort you will make a passing grade. He could make more opportunities to get extra credit because it's very rare. He is always in contact and you can email him when ever. Yes I would recommend this professor.

Every test he prepares you for, the hardest thing was the final exam. On the final exam I felt the least prepared out of all the tests we had taken and many questions/terms I had never seen (when I was doing the final I freaked out)Passed the final but my lowest grade I ever made in the class.

Vargo goes off of the book which is helpful. He has a bit of a monotone voice, but there is class discussion. He is a nice grader, and he's understanding. Just make sure you do the reading.

Mr. Vargo's class is very easy. Takes attendance through "question of the day" where he will tell you a page in the textbook and ask a question from that page and you can discuss with people around you, and you just have to write it down and then he collects it, and at the end of the course you get a test grade. He reads the tests on review day!!!

Mr Vargo was an excellent teacher. He used real life examples and terminology that was easy to understand. He was very organized, willing to help students & graded his assignments almost immediately every time. There were lots of written assignments, but it increased my writing skills that I didn't think I had in me. Come to class for an easy A

I never bought the book.), does not use powerpoints but does detailed lectures, gives you the essay prompt for his tests so you can prepare and tells you what exact topics will be on the test. Professor Vargo is without a doubt one of the best Professors at Greenville Tech. His lectures are solid and will keep you engaged throughout. Coming from someone who doesn't care much for Psychology and never truly cared to learn more about it, He left an impression on me and taught me concepts I once thought to be uninteresting. Practically gives you the answers to the test during the class period before the test. Theres an assignment called Question of the Day every day within a minute of class starting. The only grades in the class are an online quiz before the test, the test, 1 research paper, and the QOTD. The lectures are super easy to listen to and understand.

Great prof. Gives many test Qs class period before the test in review session. Textbook is only needed for Question of the Day (bellringer for class). The grades in the class are pre-test quizzes, tests, 1 research paper, and the QOTD. Overall an easy A, just do well and listen. He is kinda monotone and I found myself dozing off a couple times.

Had this class online for summer semester. Kind of difficult but interesting and I learned a lot. Piqued my interest in continuing to learn more about Psychology. Do not be deterred by the difficulty.

Mr. Vargo makes his expectations very clear and explains the content very well, however he is not very engaging at all. You do need to come to class everyday, as its a free 100 on the QOTD. Other than being a bit boring, he is very straightforward with what he wants from students.

My favorite teacher so far! He provides review days for tests and literally gives you the questions from the test. He is very helpful and responds to emails within a couple minutes or hours or until the next day. I suggest attending class to avoid falling behind.

He is pretty thorough with his lectures but if you miss a day you will not be able to catch up because they are fast-paced. He provides the essay prompts for tests ahead of time so you can prepare as well as a vocabulary list. There is no homework or classwork so you need to do well on the research essay and all of the tests.

Uses a lot of real-world examples to help you understand the material. Make sure to go to the exam reviews if you miss any of his lectures. He pulls questions directly (or at most slightly changed) from his exams and gives the essay questions at the beginning of the unit so you will know what will be on his exams.

BRING A VOICE RECORDER! Mr.Vargo uses primarily lectures to present info. Very intentional and personable. Wait to take notes until after class and focus on participation. Vargo is the best professor I have had to date. There's a few tips that you need to succeed. Record his lectures, pay attention, and read the textbook before each test. You can do really well on the tests and the research paper if you do those things. Vargo is also very kind, and respectful, so as long as you match his energy, it is smooth sailing.

He is a great teacher but doesn't assign any homework its just tests and a research paper so if your a bad test taker I wouldn't really recommend his class because its all lecture and tests thats it. But his lectures are great and he explains things pretty well.

I would not suggest this class if you need assignments to understand the material because all the assignments there were was the tests and the research paper. He's a great teacher and super caring but to truly understand the content there is a lot of reading.

Prof. Vargo only does lectures. There are five tests and one essay, which is all your grade. There are no other assignments. It is a relatively easy class if you pay attention and study. He goes over the test the class before test day. He also gives study guides. Being on time for class is essential. He is super cool and grades quickly.

Mr. Vargo is a great professor and I found all of his lectures very interesting! Just make sure you don't miss any classes because all of the crucial information is in class. There are only 5 tests and the final exam as grades, so study well, but he provides the question of the day as a buffer. Find the word in the textbook and write it, easy 100!
