Don't allow Professor Vivian's laid back demeanor fool you. He is what is wrong with our educational system, it is astonishing to me that he is 'qualified' to be an instructor, it's truly sad. Seriously, I learned absolutely nothing, yet was expected to pass ridiculously insane exams. Save your self of this torture; you'll learn more from you-tube.

Dr. Vivian is a very smart man and a good teacher when he isn't scattered. His courses take a lot of independent work and studying and if you're not devoted to the class or interested enough in the subject to do outside studying, you shouldn't take a course taught by him. Otherwise he's an easy grader on papers. Tests are tedious and not very clear
