This guy is the shizzz. A real nice, helpful, personable teacher. He helps students with our needs and he knows how to make math fun. He is also good at helping students lighten the first day nerves of class. One thing he could improve on is allowing the students to finish the example problems before he does when in class.
Look no further, this is your teacher! He is the best math teacher ever! You will not be disappointed when you take his class. He takes his time teaching you the criteria and you actually learn. He will stop mid lecture if you don't understand. Highly recommended and don't even bother looking for another teacher, he is the one you need to take!
Mike's the best math prof. out there. He's very educated in the subject and teaches with enthusiasm. He's very accessible outside of class for help with problems, even through email. Tests can be tricky but studying helps. Always lets class out early. Get's alot done in class. There for you when you need him. Not too much homework. Best math class.
Great teacher! Super easy going. Encourageous students with positivity even if they're doing poorly in the class. If you have any questions feel free to ask! He doesn't mind answering questions when youre stuck during the lecture/homework. There are random quizzes so strategize when you're going to ditch however make sure you know the chapter a lil
Take Mike's class! You won't regret it. He is an amazing teacher, a super cool guy, and a ton of fun. He is 100% there to help you out and he'll probably make you laugh in the process.
I highly RECOMMEND this professor. He makes the class fun and he's always willing to help students succeed . He's the only professor I've ever had who doesn't only care for the letter grade you get on your test or homework but he also cares for the effort you put into understanding the material. And he won't ignore your effort. TAKE HIM!!!!
AMAZING PROFESSOR! Not every professor will surprise the class with donuts on test day. Mike loves what he does and he truly wants his students to succeed. He will go out of his way to help you! Easily the most approachable professor out there and any other student would agree. His tests will challenge you but hey Calc is hard. Take Mike!
Wonderful teacher! He truly cares about his students, and wants them to succeed. He recognizes hard work and effort. Always has practice exams, which are incredibly helpful. His teaching style is pretty relaxed, and I found his classes enjoyable. He was always available to help his students. Work hard, show up, study, and you will do well.
Honestly such an amazing teacher! He is very enthusiastic about math and does a great job breaking things down for students that struggle, but allows the acheivers to continue on. He does practice tests that are similar to the test. And he is always wants to help everyone in his class. Show up and do the homework and the class with be great!
Never thought that I can like a maths professor as much. 100% would take again.
Mike is hands down the best professor I have had so far at Sierra College. He is an incredible professor and makes math make sense, while keeping it interesting and entertaining. Mike wants all of his students to succeed and will put in as much effort to help you, as long as you are putting forth effort. Truly an amazing person and professor!!
Mike is an amazing teacher. He treats his students as adults, and will not hold your hand through his class. Mike provides an environment that allows you to ask any question. There is no shaming, and he is always willing to answer anything. As someone who failed nearly every math class, Mike has been the best instructor.
I had Mike for Math31 (Calc II) and he was awesome. You didn't have to do the homework, but he highly recommended it in order to understand the problems on the test, since he tweaks ones from the book. Amazing professor, could not recommend anyone else! It is a tough class, but if you have any questions he's more than happy to work with you on them
He's a really cool dude and a pretty good professor. He makes a point of teaching what you need to pass future courses and forcing you to apply knowledge from previous courses (especially College Algebra). He gave out practice tests and let us retake our lowest scored exam. Exams aren't too hard if you mostly pay attention. Final was open book.
I really enjoyed Mike's Trig. class. He is a little informal compared to the other math teachers but in a good way. The lectures were both entertaining and informative, he understands his audience and communicates accordingly making it easy comprehend. Would definitely recommend to others.
I liked Mike so much for MATH12 I am now taking him for Trig. Great professor in both. Always available for questions, very personable. Casual approach and makes you feel okay to ask any question. I can't say enough good things about him. If you struggle, take Mike. You won't regret it. If you try, he will work with you. 10/10 would take again.
Mike Waterson is a phenomenal professor. He's hilarious during lectures, welcomes question during class and he understands the topics that students often struggle with. He also expects a lot from his students. If you're putting in the effort, he will know it and he will work with you if necessary. I highly recommend Mike, really great guy.
Mike is probably the best prof I've ever had. Where he shines is in class participation. He has a very good pulse on the class and he will adjust the pace accordingly. If you ask him any question, he will put in 110% to make sure you understand. His grading is always reasonable and he communicates what he wants. 10/10 would take again
He saved our math29 when Balaguy dropped our class and will be forever grateful, because I wasn't sure how well I was going to do in the class before. He's very caring and really easy to talk to. He is always available over the canvas app. Wish I could take him for math30 but his class was full before I could even sign up!
WIthout a doubt the best professor I've had at Sierra. He is such a wonderful person, on top of being a fantastic educator. No matter the class, math is hard, and it's important to have a teacher that cares about seeing their students succeed. I put in countless hours and still didn't get an A, but the class itself was incredible and rewarding!
He took over our class when another professor dropped. I don't think math teachers get any better than this. Very down to earth guy who makes a 2 hour lecture full of energy somehow. He's very real with his students and lets you know what is expected of you. Can reach through canvas and office hours, and often makes appearances in the math lab.
Michael Waterson is the professor who is going to help you through all of your academic career. Extremely down to earth and most importantly a realist. Ask any questions you want and he makes sure that you understand in multiple ways. You can always reach him and is a pillar of support for students who struggle. Would recommend him to anyone.
AMAZING. Definitely in my top 2 maybe even #1. He has so much energy it makes it easier. Also so funny! He cares about you passing-if you go to tutoring a lot he'll notice & give a deserving grade. He told me he saw the effort i put in & gave me a B instead of a C. Most my time was spent in math lab where he'd always tell me good job. Awesome guy!!
Awesome man, really helped me starting calculus. Only regret is that I can't take him for the next semester because he always fills up.
Mike is caring, energetic, funny, and also a little twitchy (in a good way). He tries his best to help his students succeed, and hes always accessible either during his office hours, or at the math center. He doesnt do pop-quizzes, and the questions on his in-class-quizzes are pulled straight from the homework, as are 1/4 of his test questions.
This guy is LEGIT. My favorite professor of all time. He's chill, funny, passionate, smart, and caring. He makes math something that I don't dread every day. How much more can you ask for? THE IDEAL PROFESSOR. I'm sooooo pissed that I missed my chance to take him again this semester. :///
He is nice and is willing to help all students. BUT the grade is based 85% ON EXAMS, which can be really tough. Hard to keep an A.
He truly wants his students to Succeed. Don't miss lecture, do the homework and show up to office hours and you'll do fine. you'll never get bored during lectures and hes more than willing to help if you ask and put in work. His quizzes and tests are straight out of the homework and worksheets. Awesome Professor, its impossible to fail his class.
Mike is one of the best teachers i have ever had. His lectures are never boring and he is always there to help. Calculus is a hard subject and mike doesn't make his class super easy, but if you do the homework and test prep materials you'll do fine. The grading is 10-15% on quizzes and the rest from exams and finals. I would highly recommend him.
It was hard to choose only 3 tags. Clear grading criteria, do not underestimate the first exam you have the chance to not take the final. Honestly one of the best professors I've had, especially for a math course. Is this class an easy A? Obviously not. But you have someone on your side if you take Waterson
Calc is hard but he makes it bearable. Wants you to learn and has a good time teaching it. Close with all his students. Only problem with him is refuses to teach calc 2 and 3 :P
He took things very easy, genuinely a nice guy.
Waterson is the best. He is caring, funny and very inspirational. He took care of everyone in our class and gave us the best grade possible based on ones work and abilities. Take him if you want to succeed.
Mike is an outstanding teacher, he was able to respark my love for mathematics and inspire me to go further and accomplish what I believed was out of reach for me. He is very funny and energetic in class and goes way out of his way for the students as long as they show him they care. Highly recommended especially for trig and up!
If Coolmathgames was a person, it would be Mike.
Best Math teacher I've ever had. Incredibly understanding and helpful for students of all knowledge levels. Has a great sense of humor in lectures. Will make you work and think hard, but he only does it to help you in the long run.
Ive taken Mike for Trig as well as Calc 1 now and he is such an attentive but challenging professor. If you put in the work and show passion he will give back the same enthusiasm. He is by no means an easy professor and will make you work for your grade but it pays off when you put in the time and work.
Single-handedly the best professor I've ever had at Sierra College. I had Mike for College Algebra, Trig, and Calculus 1 and I gotta say, before taking him I never knew I could have that much fun in a math class (or retain this much info 2 years later). He is inspiring, energetic, and actually cares about the learning outcome of individual students
Calculus is a pretty discouraging class to take, but Mike did his best to help us learn the material. After Covid-19 shut down on-campus classes, Mike did his best to make things work with online video lectures and class meetings. He also takes feedback with high regard and WANTS to be corrected. He is like a diamond in the rough; treasure him.
Helped me out with some grade issues, Hes a G
I took an online summer course in Trig and it was difficult. Im not the best at math Ill admit but I feel as though the structure of the lectures didnt prepare someone like me for tests and homework. I wouldve liked to see more in depth steps and more rigorous examples in lectures that were similar to test material.
Awesome guy! He has short but helpful videos and the homework load is reasonable. His exams are a bit difficult, but if you understand the topics covered then you will most likely make silly mistakes. I don't know what else to say except to take Mike's class if you get the chance! Don't think that this is an easy class, it's just better with Mike.
He's a hilarious math teacher and doesn't assign homework that's due for a grade so SERIOUSLY PRACTICE!!! Exams will make or break your grade so if you don't do the practice problems he assigns you'll fail
My only complaint is that he's a slow grader. Great professor and even better person. Works with students, answers questions, good lectures, reasonable homework, makes it fun, has useful office hours and pass peers with office hours, open note quizzes. Absolutely would take again. Side note: makes his own tests, exams are worth 75% of your grade.
Great guy overall! Must take! Lots of HW (Through Cengage; Expensive!). Lectures are solid and to the point, helps students get over Math anxiety by acknowledging tough topics as well as sharing personal stories of his struggles. Little Quizzes here and there. Grades WORK but answers r cool! Exams are tough but grading is fair! Excellent Professor!
He is hands down one of the best professors I have had, if he likes and respects you, he will make sure to help you out. He is very understanding, although there is such a thing as a stupid question, so I would pay attention to lectures. He gives you plenty of opportunities to succeed, and I would take them if I were you.
This class was actually decent. I am not a numbers-person so I knew this class would be difficult. While this class might be my first B, it was a hard earned grade- whatever it may be. Seriously, ask him questions, go to his zoom classes, watch his lectures, take the work SERIOUSLY. This is not a joke class. Test heavy, stress heavy. But rewarding.
Mike WANTS you to succeed. I took him in Spring 2020 and he was just amazing. He always makes the classroom feel positive and energetic. He designs quizzes and exams so they're similar to the homework. All other Calc professors at Sierra College should strive to be more like Mike. My only wish is that he taught Calc 2.
Really nice, funny, caring guy! Theres 3 exams, and a good handful of quizzes usually every other week or so. With 1-2 homework assignments a week.
Mike is one of the most caring professors you'll meet. He wants you to succeed in all future endeavors, BUT you gotta put the effort in. He's made all sorts of avenues for you to get help with what you're having trouble on. It is a calc class though, so expect to spend a good amount of time working through problems. You cheat, the dean you meet.
Why does this professor require a webcam for the online class but no test proctoring software for the webcam? He does however have a couple sections of the class that have optional online meetings so that's probably why. He wants to see your face. He is a pretty nice teacher.
What a great professor! Very funny, caring, relaxed, but makes you work to truly understand the concepts presented. Showing him that you care about the class matters a lot to him as he will reciprocate that same attention and effort. Loved taking him and feel so much more solid in my understanding of trig after this class. 100% recommend!
I was looking forward to taking Waterson's class (until I got in the class) cuz I heard great things. He may be a good on campus teacher but not online. There was no where near enough teaching or explanation to learn anything or do well on tests. In his short vids he only works out simple probs and then tests you on hard probs you've never seen.
I took this class as my first one on the Rocklin campus, so I had no clue what to expect, but this professor was not only very nice, he was very funny and would make us all laugh during class which was nice because math is not easy. I am taking a class with him again because he's a great professor. Definitely recommend!
His online course is a joke. In his zoom meetings he only goes over 1 or 2 problems for 30 min twice a week, when the classes are supposed to be 4 hours total. He does not often return emails either. He needs to stop cruising and actually start teaching.
Hes helpful, relates to his students, and is always understanding. Hes strict when he needs to be with tests, quizzes, etc, but hes very willing to help when students need it. Dont be afraid to reach out to him outside of class, or to even have a little fun! The subjects can be difficult but he makes it way better.
Do NOT take his online class. Asleep at the wheel, unresponsive, rude, dismissive, if you have any little technical problems its over. Acts nice in lecture and funny but when it comes to interacting with students his actions do not match his words, and he assumes youre a lazy cheater. Ive never had a teacher so disrespectful.
I took mike for an on campus class, great class.I am taking him for an online calculus class, all he does is post a couple videos and that is it. He needs to stop vacationing and actually teach class.
I took Mike for Trig and now Calc. He is extremely approachable if you need help, but be prepared to work hard! His tests are challenging, but he drops tons of hints and tips during zoom, and even gives out exam answers if you're paying attention. He offers extra credit if you catch errors in his videos, which has seriously helped my grade.
Dudes a beast. I took him for trig and calculus and his teaching style meshed with me incredibly well. His test are hard and he definitely makes you work for your grade but overall I feel pretty solid on the concepts for future classes.
Funniest teacher I've had so far. He is an amazing human. He will give you the tools to succeed in this class, but it is solely up to you to make it happen. So don't expect handholding. This is a HARD subject but is made easy by Mike's videos and class instruction. Fair and understanding person. Easy A if you put the effort in.
Michael is the best Calculus 1 teacher on the campus. He really cares for all of his students, and he basically tells you what will be on the test. His class is tough, but he does his best to make it go as smoothly as possible. Mike is hilarious and his lectures are typically pretty entertaining. Overall an amazing teacher and not much homework.
Mike is one of the best teachers/professors I've ever had. He will listen to you and talk to you like a human being and not just a grade. He is also very funny and his lectures are as engaging as math can be. I went into calculus sure I was going to have to re-take it and I am now going into the final with a B. If you put in the work you can do it.
Waterson made statistics easy to understand as a first-year. He tried his best to get everyone to understand the concept and brought life to the class with his humor and passion. Super down-to-earth and caring professor. Homework due once a week, with tests and quizzes pretty much being from the homework. Overall great professor. Highly recommend.
Mike is honestly a homie. He's super great at teaching and makes coming to class super fun. The class itself is pretty hard but that's standard with calculus. He loves kids who participate during class and he tends to help them out on quizzes and such so PARTICIPATE!
Took him for Trig, he's very reasonable and wants to help you succeed. Everything he teaches in class, for the most part, can be used to do your homework online. Loved having him and hope to see him around campus.
If given the opportunity, I would take Mike's class over any other professor. The guy genuinely cares about his students, and wants you to do well. Take advantage of his office hours in the math lab, he'll do everything he can to help you pass if you put in the effort. Don't miss class though, he moves FAST and you don't want to fall behind
I LOVED Mike. Best teacher by far. He cares so much about his students and really wants you to succeed. Calculus 1 is not an easy class so be ready to work hard for it. Would take him for all my math classes at Sierra if I could. Was on campus.
This man will do everything within his power to help you succeed but you must put in the effort or he won't help you. Very easy class to ace or at the very least pass. He is also a very genuine person and real. He will teach you about the school system or just a different method of thinking about things. Very little ego as well and he is very nice.
If you take his online class, be sure to be the perfect student, because otherwise, you will get zero sympathy. Very inconsiderate. He moves very very fast in lectures, even recorded ones. Homework differs greatly from quizzes and exams, as his methods are different from the actual curriculum. Unprofessional and cusses like a sailor.
Professor Waterson is the kind of professor that will go above and beyond to help you as long as you put in the effort. His lectures weren't too fast paced but kept me engaged. This is a class you want to take in-person if at all possible. By far my favorite professor I've had.
Very great teacher, but be ready to put in the time it takes to learn a new math class. Plenty of homework is given to help pad your grade for exams. Teaching style is not for everyone though, he is very casual in lecture (makes it more enjoyable). Teaches awesome tricks to help you remember processes for exams Would 100% take for any math class
Mike is an excellent guy. His lectures are funny to watch. He is down to do 1 on 1 meeting anytime, even at 5 am (can relate). As long as you are active and putting the effort in, you will succeed. If you want to learn and have fun, take Mike. If you are going to cheat your way through, take a different professor because online helpers won't help.
Mike is an amazing professor. He will go out of his way to help you succeed. Calc 1 isn't easy, but as long as you're putting in effort, he will reciprocate and a good grade is achievable.
Appreciates people when they speak up and ask questions. Is very hard to read and doesnt give us a clear idea of what the test looks like. Gets off task easily and grades his tests hard. Dont take his class online and is very condensing to people who are quiet. Wants you do good and the homework assignments will help you pass his exams.
I hope youre proficient at math, sit in the front, do ALL your hw, are a talker, LOVE asking ?s, and have similar interests as Mike. If not, good luck. Wants his students to do well but grades like a mf, teaches so fast, hella sarcastic and SO condescending. Katy Perty wrote Hot N Cold about him. MUST take this class in person & show up to pass
Mike does a good job. Answers questions effectively. Assigns work on a reliable schedule with enough time to complete it. For online section, you can't rely on the online homework, alone. Watch videos, start quizzes early, attend online lectures, and pose questions. His problems are totally different than the online homework. Calls out copycats.
As always, an amazing teacher. I wish I could take all of my math classes with him. Pay no attention to the one-star review, this guy was a offended by everything and a disrespectful pos. Everyone was relieved when he left :) Mike makes math literally the easiest it can be while ensuring you know the material for future classes. 10/10
Waterson is an incredibly fair professor. Calculus isn't easy, but he makes it fair and provides all the resources for you to do well. The grade you get is likely the grade you deserved. 4 exams, a final in 2 parts, weekly homework, and quizzes containing 1-2 problems from homework or problems he's shown in class.
Very helpful professor. Willing to help anytime, as long as you communicated properly and weren't afraid to ask for help/questions. Always looks out for the best in anyone. Very understanding when it comes to tests and text anxiety.
Calc 2 is a hard class, but Mike tries to make it as enjoyable as possible. I didn't get the best grade in the class, but he saw the work I put in to pass this class and made me feel comfortable in the class. Super funny and genuinely cares.
This was my second time taking calc after a miserable fail last semester, Mike's class was a CLEAR difference in terms of how well he explained the material and how much he cared about his students. He makes it his priority to balance the class between being passable and also preparing you for the next class accordingly. Also, he's just a cool guy.
Mike's class is by no means simple. His tests are challenging and he loves to throw curveball questions to stump students. That being said, he genuinely cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Plus, he is hilarious and is just an all around great guy. The grade that you receive in his class is absolutely the grade you deserve.
Mike is an awesome instructor. His tests are difficult, but he will generally give you a summary of what's going to be on them. (Example: 2 Differentiation, 1 analyze the graph, etc.) He moves fast during lectures but as long as you ask questions he is happy to explain concepts or process. Be prepared to take a lot of notes.
Waterson is amazing, he is caring & hilarious. He focuses on your understanding of the material rather than your grades and you can pass the course even if you do poorly on an exam. He doesn't grade attendance and has materials posted if you miss but it's highly recommended to attend class. He is very responsive and the best math teacher I've had.
This man is all about helping you to understand Calculus. 10 times better than any other professor at Sierra College.
Math methods used are accessible; shows and explains steps. Exams make up most of your grade & are hard & questions are pulled from lecture, hw, and textbook. No curve. Most need to pour hours of studying because of the nature of this course, but he provides plenty of support and resources. Talk to him! He is on your team for success!
We all have so much more to learn from Mike than math. He comes off as very easy and chill, but you will not get through his course if you don't put in the appropriate amount of work. Truly one of the best professors you will have in your lifetime. Don't miss the opportunity to take him
Genuinely the nicest professor I had from Trigonometry up to Calculus 2. Definitely try taking his classes.
What an amazing person. He truly cares about his students, responds to emails, and makes time for you if you need it. He's extremely forgiving with grading and actually rounded up all HW and practice assignments to 100% as long as we showed proof of completion. The grading weight split was 40% midterm and 40% final. The other 20% was practice. LOVE
THE GOAT calculus teacher. Mike is super caring, funny, very clear with what to expect on exams, and overall just a great person. He could teach calculus to everyone. Do not get it mistaken, I put in MANY HOURS into this class. If you dont ask questions, are actively engaged, and taking it serious, you wont pass, period. Take Mike, he's the best.
Amazing professor, if you love maths he will make you love maths more!! expect to put in some effort because it is not high school. he is the best at explaining everything. take his class, do not hesitate to ask questions because if u ask it will help u get good grades.
Great professor. He really cares about his students and he made YT videos on every topic in the course in case you need to miss class. I took an 8 week course, missed 2 weeks due to getting covid, and still passed with a B (it did take a lot of hard work to catch up). He has office hours and he provided 4 tutors which was very helpful.
best math teacher I've ever had. first day when he stood on a table, I knew I liked him, and over time, I really grew to appreciate his teaching style. he explains everything in such a helpful way, and the homework he gives makes you understand and you can always get 100%. he gives practice tests and he'll love you as long as you put in the effort.
Great teacher, very engaged with students
Great teacher. Always encouraging. Retook a math class I took in high school that was difficult for me, and he made it way easier to understand. First teacher I ever liked enough and was comfortable enough with to refer to by his first name. Doesn't have enough good ratings!
Mike is the best professor I have ever had. He cares about all His students and their growth, encouraging students to learn the material and not stress out about their grade. Beware the easiest pop quizzes of your life rounded up to buffer your grade, and the most engaging lectures you will ever have. Professor Waterson made math actually enjoyable
Mike was the best teacher I ever had while at Sierra College. I had him for both Calculus 1 and Calculus 2 and he soared beyond any expectations I would of had for a professor. He is very down to earth and gets straight to the point in his teaching and on top of that, he cares about what grade you will get. Also, will help in any way he can.
Waterson is the best professor I have ever had. Hilarious lectures and very informative, loves to encourage students.
Mike was hands down the best teacher/professor I have ever had in my academic career. Very easy to understand, will do anything in order for you to succeed, and is super funny. Take his class if you have the opportunity. There is not a lot of homework and no surprises on tests. The tests are the study guides with different numbers.
Mike is the best professor I could have at Sierra College. He cares about students and loves to encourage them. He responds to every email we send and answers our questions patiently. He is very funny and makes the class enjoyable for everyone. He gives perfect lectures and has YouTube videos available if you miss a class.
I love Mike! He's amazing! I put 4 for difficulty because Calc is difficult, not because he made it difficult. In addition to being a hilarious and engaging lecturer, the entirety of his lectures are also available on his YouTube channel. If you're not a math wizard (like me), you'll find his videos extremely helpful for reviewing and studying.
best professor ever. helpful, funny, clear, and wants you to succeed so badly. show him you care and he will do everything he can to help. provides lots of practice exams that are almost identical to the real thing. love Mike.
I took Mike for Calc 1 and 2 and he makes math make sense. All these new concepts are intimidating to grasp at first but Mike makes it seem not so unattainable. He's passionate about his class and makes you want to learn calculus. He is very involved with his students and wants us to succeed. Best professor I've ever taken.
Mike remains my favorite professor at Sierra. He is funny, caring, and makes Calc 1 super digestable. He even sent me 10+ personal videos on how to solve problems I struggled with. His exams are some of the fairest I have taken and his quizzes are good practice. If you ever get the chance to take any Calc class with Mike you won't regret it.
Mike knows his math. There are 3 exams and a final. Fully understanding the topics of Exams 1 and 2 is CRUCIAL not just for grades but your future in math. Exam 2 is the hardest. If you have an 'A' after Exam 3 and do the last homework, you can skip the final + last week of class (verify this with Mike though). Final can replace a lower exam score.
BEST PROFESSOR! He has amazing lectures that make the class easy to understand. He really cares about his students and makes learning fun. He is quick to respond to emails and always willing to help. His teaching style keeps you engaged, and you'll enjoy math with him. Highly recommend taking his class!
he's the best. easiest math professor at sierra and such a great teacher. he wants you to succeed so badly and will do his best to get you there. he will lie, but only in your favor.
Mike is an amazing professor, and his lectures are so easy to understand! He cares for his hardworking students, and provides videos for homework questions when you ask him. If you want a good grade make sure to do all the homework, they are for your best:) Take him!!!
grade based on 4 tests and final no hw. assigns it and will send videos to help. wasn't my learning style so it was extremely hard. said he didn't care if we passed the class. he's the most charismatic person ever but his lectures were him j showing off, scribbling long problems, and not explaining anything. imo should be a history teacher instead.
Professor Waterson is truly an amazing math teacher. He's super caring, makes the material engaging, and provides great support. Just be ready to put in many hours - this class is challenging, but with Waterson's help and resources like Unstuckstudy, you can succeed.
Mike is one of those professors you would never forget. He's a really nice guy. Always greeted me when I came into class. It's clear he's passionate and willing to help you with anything. Took him in Calc 1 and now I'm in his Calc 2 class. He makes things pretty simple to follow and understand. Just practice a lot and you'll do fine.
This was the best class that I have taken at Sierra College. Mike's teching methods made me enjoy math again. And as long as you show up to lectures, do your homework, and go to office hours when you need help, you will an A in this class because his tests are exactly like the homework, and he tells you exactly what will be on the exam.
hands down the best prof at sierra, ive had him for 4 math classes now and he is so easy to understand and funny and approachable, he will stop the class on a dime if you raise your hand with a question, and loves when people do so.
You guys should definitely take him. He's legit an amazing professor. He's so much better than my AP Calc AB teacher. Loved taking every class with him. So straightforward. Do all the work and you will earn that A!
Mike is the best professor at Sierra. His lectures are funny, clear, and easy to follow. He truly cares about students' success. Exams match the homework, and he helps outside of class. If you show up and try, you'll pass. Highly recommend taking him!
His lectures are fun, clear, and helpful. He really cares about students and wants you to succeed. Tests match homework, and he responds fast. Take him if you want to enjoy math again!
Wow. Words cannot describe just how awesome Mike is. First of all, he just has so much positivity, energy, and enthusiasm for calculus when he is teaching. Second, his exams are NOT full of out-of-the-blue questions. That said, Calc 2 is inherently a hard class. You have to work HARD to get an A on any Calc 2 exam, and Mike is no exception.
Love this class. I gave him a 5 because there's no higher score than that. I've had him for three semesters, and I enjoy his classes. He is always encouraging, caring, and thoughtful with his students. His lectures are the best, full of energy. The exams are not tough if you attend class and do the homework. Highly recommend!
The GOAT. Hilarious dude and really cares about his students (especially that french genius). YOU HAVE TO DO THE HOMEWORK. If you do the homework then you shouldn't expect anything less than an A.
I love Professor Mike. I started Calc with him, and I finished it with him too. He is the best! He really cares about his students. He answers emails on time and is very patient when you ask questions. He always has a positive attitude and makes you feel supported. I highly recommend him!
Mike is an amazing teacher, it doesn't matter if you're a decent student or a genius he will do his best to teach you. The very rare occasion he does make mistakes, he will own up to it and compensate you for them fairly. Overall extremely good professor and is probably one of the friendliest teachers at Sierra College.
Very good professor. Study and do the homework and you'll get a good grade. He is amazing.
Mike is honestly the best teacher I've ever had for any academic class ever. He made calculus 2 enjoyable. Entertaining Lectures, hints at what's going to be on the test, and is a genuinely friendly person and cares about all of his students. I'm not a person who ever really enjoyed math, but Mike changed that and I will remember that forever.
His classes are so nice and he was so kind to me. I don't know why I gave him this rating.
His classes were always engaging, and he explained concepts in a clear and concise manner that made them easy to understand. He was very kind and respectful to me, and I felt comfortable asking questions.
Great professor who is always willing to help, and work with his students. Highly recommend.
Never had a professor quite like this. He's one of the best people I've ever met. He's super funny and cares for his students. Will respond to emails every morning about any questions and is super approachable. He's one of a kind and too good for Sierra, take him if you can you won't regret it
Grades based off 4 exams and final, but the questions on there are just the homework problems or easier than that. Hilarious and chaotic but still an amazing teacher. Just do some of your homework and you'll get an A if you remember it well. Also very approachable and kind, so use that to your advantage.
4 exams and a final is your grade basically. Do your homework and you'll be perfectly set up for tests. Don't do the homework and procrastinate on studying like me and it'll be a little sketchy but fine if you follow along in class. Hard grader if you're perfect. Ask questions if you need. Super approachable, hilarious, and caring about your grade.
This is the greatest professors on the planet. He genuinely changed my life and altered my brain chemistry. He has such a kind heart and will bend over backwards to ensure EVERYONE gets the best possible grade. The only reason anyone would review him badly is that he cusses a bit too much, or they're just salty bc they didn't do well in the class.
I absolutely loved Mike's class. He is such a caring man and as long as you show him that you are a hard worker he will so everything he can to get you the best grade possible. He really cares about his students, enough to teach calc 3 even though he has never taught it before because we all begged him to. 1000/10 would take his class again.
Mike is the GOAT, plain and simple. He's an amazing teacher, he keeps things simple and entertaining. He makes you a deal at the beginning of class that if you get above a 95%, you don't have to take the final. I studied hard and ended with a 97%, and Mike stuck to his word.
The best professor in Sierra. He's a very amusing and funny in his lectures and explains calculus in a simple way. I also like that you can email him homework problems you're stuck on and he sends you personalized videos of him solving them. Obviously you have to put the work in since calculus is a hard course, just do your hw and you're good.
My math teacher is truly amazing and always so thoughtful. He takes time to help each student and makes learning fun. His clear explanations help me pick up new math skills quickly. I feel lucky to have such a supportive and inspiring teacher. He is my favorite math professor . He is super kind and caring for all student. I take all Cal with him.
He puts problems from homework in the tests and tells you were exactly he got them from so for most problems if you did the homework you are going to get them right
