I thought that this class would be dreadful but it turned out not to be. Mr. Wintz is a great teacher; he really gets into his lectures and really knows the material. With this combination I really enjoyed the class and actually learned alot. It is a tough class, but definately worth it.

I never thought I could have that much fun in a class. Even though it's a lot of work, he gives you so many opportunities to earn extra credit. He has completely changed my perspective on other religions.

This professor is excellent. He really makes the class interesting. He makes it seem as he is a follower of every religion. It is just a suberb class and it is an experiance that every one sould have.

The material for this course can be a little difficult but he offers TONS of extra credit. Sometimes lectures can be a little dull but overall it's a very interesting class. He's not at all an intimidating teacher and is always open to help if a student is having problems with the class.

Mr. Wintz is such a cool guy, he really does enjoy teaching and wants to entertain his students. The 13-page packets are kind of annoying, but its really the only way to learn and cover all of the material for the course, plus if you do good on them they can help your grade out and he offers lots of extra credit take his class you be dissapointed!

Lots of worksheet packets (8). plus other assignments like articles and worship visits. but if you really do the work which is not that hard you can do well easily i think. and that is because he give so much extra credit. i half assed the packets had a 83 and did extra credit pulled a 95, plus he is the greatest teacher ever.

He is good, he required some work, he gave you the credit you deserved for your hard work put in the and outside the class. Great Professor

Mr. Wintz is a great teacher! He's funny and puts things into lterms understandable. He tells funny stories. If you need extra credit there's plenty of it. A word of advice: when you do the packets try to do them with someone, much easier!

This guy really is an amazing teacher. Such an interesting topic, and he makes it even better. Everyone should take this class w/ Mr. Wintz. The packets are thick, but actually pretty easy. Only a fews tests and those are easy too, especially if you did the packets throughout the semester. Take 243 w/ Wintz, you will not regret it!

He is a very good teacher, but he does seem to focus a lot on the packets. I think he needs to switch up how he presents the notes. But it is a very intersting class and he made it as fun as he possibly could. This is not an easy "A" class but if you work hard he will give you the grade you deserve.

he teaches all the religions from a completely unbiased point of view. that is very hard to do! he is very cool! very understanding, there are 7 pretty good sized packets that you HAVE TO DO! and extra credit is a good thing. i didnt take the final because i had such a good grade. :)

This class is awesome! Though people complain about the packets being long and difficult they really are not. They are time consuming but you have weeks to complete each one. You MUST literally try to get anything other than an A in this class. Very fun, great class!

This teacher is probably the best teacher you can get. His stories/lectures are extremely interesting, and as long as you do that work it's probably the easiest class to go to. I recommend anybody who's looking for a class that's not a waste of money to take this one.

If you're taking this course as a requirement or if you are really interested in religious studies Wintz is the way to go. He's amazing! His stories are so interesting and he's very passionate about what he teaches. He's hilarious, extremely helpful, and probably the best teacher you'll have at MCC. You'll get a lot out of every class meeting!

Wintz is an engaging and fair teacher. He is one of my best and favorite teachers to date. Do all of the extra credit and you probably won't have to take the final!

One of the most enjoyable professors I've ever had. He's constantly engaging, fun, and gets you thinking. You don't just sit there and he lectures while having a monotone voice. Mr.Wintz is awesome!!! His class is super easy as long as you do the work. The midterm and final are super fair. Basically your grade will reflect how much of the work you did not your ability to understand it or the professors inability to teach it. Mr. Wintz is clearly very passionate about what he does and it shows. TAKE THIS COURSE!!!

He is VERY organized and definitely grades EVERY part of your homework. There is a lot of work (8, 12 page packets, 150 questions), and only a midterm on the first half of the packets, and a final on the last half. Tests are very fair, he lets you see the tests a week before. He has a lot of work, but if you just do it you will be fine!!

Awesome teacher, very interesting lectures and a good story teller. very straight forward assignments, but he does grade and look at everything in detail. a lot of work with at least 8 packets, each one takes about 10 hours but they help you learn the material. very good teacher and willing to help any student. Learned so much!

Really great teacher. He really makes you empathize and understand other religions and cultures. Hes careful about explaining the differences between the culture and the religion of certain people. Did a great job of explaining all the different religions in an interesting and informative way. Really long HW assignments, but really not that hard.

He is very passionate about what he teaches. Lets you know exactly what to expect 1st day of class. There is quite a bit of HW, but if you just do a 1page/day its easy Projects can usually be completed the night before due, aside from the midterm. This class actually made me aware of world traditions that I was unaware of. This class does require time and effort. There is ample extra credit available! Passing with an A and not having to take the final is highly likely if you put in the effort. I even now know more of my own traditions that I didn't know before. Great Professor!

Professor Wintz is amazing! The class was always interesting. He presented each religion fairly and without prejudice. The class was fairly easy although you do have work to do. The lectures have humor mixed into them. The class comes with lots of extra credit chances. Professor Wintz runs on chocolate and coffee so don't forget to bring some in.

Loved this class! Mr. Wintz is a truly amazing person and professor. This course will change your life and how you view others. The packets are extensive and laborious, but there is so much extra credit throughout the course! Not easy, but 100% worth it. HIGHLY recommended!

He's a funny teacher, but you need to show up to class! You can find easy extra credit points everywhere, and as long as you do your work, you'll pass just fine. Lectures are long but interesting!

This is a very interesting class. His lectures are great and he gives A LOT of extra credit. I had a high enough grade due to extra credit to not have to take the final. Overall, it is an easy class and he has a good sense of humor. I recommend this class for those who need a Humanities course.

Mr. Wintz is an amazing teacher! He's extremely helpful, and he truly cares for his students. The class is very easy, as long as you do your work. He gives out 2 tests and 7 packets throughout the semester, which are pretty extensive, 150 questions each, but you can easily find all the answers in the course book. Excellent class and easy A!

Amazing instructor. Clear grading and you know the extra opportunities the first day. Classes are lectures, but even if you don't usually like them he is a great storyteller and very informative. Passionate and it is infectious. Not many assignments, but they are all important! You will need to take notes, read, and research. If you do its an A!

Mr. Wintz is an excellent teacher who really has a fiery passion for his job he loves teaching and really shows it by giving you a very insightful look into religion. I would highly recommend his class. The only slightly negative thing is he has incredibly long packets to fill out that do take work but If you complete them you will easily get an A!

He is an amazing teacher! Both knowledgeable and funny! The assignments are quite easy as long as you either pay attention in class andor do the reading in the book. Only two tests the entire semester. I would really recommend you sign up for his class!

The class is very clear cut and consistent. The packets are easy because all the answers come directly from the book or website. He offers a lot of extra credit so you can get exempt from the final. His lectures are great and he writes everything on the board. My only complaints are that lectures ran over and commonly didn't help with the packets.

Wintz is such an awesome professor. He lectures in a way that he "is" every religion he teaches about. The homework packets are long but they're easy. He also doesn't give tests except midterm and final. He has so many opportunities for extra credit that it's almost impossible to fail his class. I definitely recommend!

One of the best teachers I've ever had. His enthusiasm for teaching is incredible. You can tell he has passion for the subject. He's hilarious too. I really benefited from this course because he presents each religion with respect and clarity.

I'm always exited to be in his class. This guy is funny af and extremely interesting, he knows what he talks about, one second in that class is not boring. You will have to read a lot though, tons of extra credits, no tests and NO CELLPHONE. He gives great advises, and might let you go away with late assignments if you are nice.

I had to take this class as a substitute for another class that got cancelled but I DON'T REGRET IT AT ALL!!! He is one of THE best professors. His lectures are inspiring and he is respectful of all religions. He speaks so passionately and you can tell he loves what he does. He is SO nice and funny and all around just a good person. Professor Wintz is by far my favorite professor in college so far. If you need or want humanities this is definitely the class to take. He is very unbiased and objective. He makes you think and the time flies in class because you are just so into his lectures. He gives a significant amount of homework, but it's easy homework. You LEARN from him!

My favorite teacher this semester. His lectures are A+. He's really energetic, and he gets so into teaching the material that it's pretty impossible not to be interested in it. Your grade in the class is pretty dependent on doing homework (there's one take home midterm and one exam), but he gives a ton of extra credit opportunities. Love this class

Great teacher no doubt, but the packets he gives out are a lot of work. Most packets I ever did were done the night before, do not even try with these ones. There is really no way you can finish them the night before. I kinda regret taking this class because I do not need towards my degree and is somewhat of a waste of time for me.

Mr. Wintz is one of the BEST instructors I've ever had. He is passionate about what he teaches and this makes him so proficient and influential. You will have to work for your grade, but won't regret a single second. I would highly recommend him and any of his classes. Simply, The BEST!

By far the best professor I have had. Amazing lectures and stories. Attendance is mandatory. He hands out packets to be done, as well as tones and tones of extra credit so this is the easiest A you can get. Also if you do well in this packets which are open book, you do not to take the final exam. Would recommend this class to everyone. Best class!

GREAT teacher that cares about his students! There are lots of packets that are fairly long but they are not very hard. Also he gives TONS of extra credit! Many students in my class didnt have to take the final because they did the Xtra Credit!

There would be to much for me to type about Michael Wintz. So I will keep it simple. Be prepared to do work. Is the work easy? Yes. Does it take time? Yes. This is college. The test given are reviewed before taking that includes the final. So guess what? You know what's on the test and I mean you know!!!!

Hands down one of the greatest teachers I have ever had the opportunity to learn from. For a time period in this life where religion is found everywhere, Mr. Wintz manages to teach the students as if that was his religion, aka, no biased views. Passion is the main word to describe the way he teaches. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the class.

He is honestly one of the greatest teachers I have ever had and you would be a fool not to take his class. The packets that he gives are easy if you actually read the corresponding chapters, so don't try to make it easy by skimming the chapter for answers, just read it. The book itself isn't a dry read so I promise it's not torture.

Professor Wintz is spectacular. He keeps the lectures interesting and is passionate about what he teaches. The homework packets are time consuming but if you plan ahead and avoid procrastinating, you will be just fine. I also had an honors contract through this class and I thoroughly enjoyed the projects I did for that. Extra tip: do Extra Cred!

Great professor. This class wasn't mandatory for my degree, but I've always been interested in religion and this class was a great opportunity for me to expand my mind. His lectures are awesome. I took an 8:00 class which was difficult, but I always showed up because I love listening to what he has to say. I would take this class again.

Professor Wintz is a great professor. His course is clear cut, the packets can be time consuming, so you'll need to be able to manage your them. Start early on projects! Each religion is presented, as if it is his own.I liked that I was introduced to new concepts outside the ideas of my own faith. I think he practices his jokes in the mirror! Ha!

I took professor Wintz's world religion class because I wanted to find a better understanding of the various religions and all I can say is that there is no better person to teach this class then him. He makes lectures more interesting then any other professor that I have had. I highly recommend taking any of his classes. EXCELLENT

Awesome class to take. This professor really knows his religions. But be prepared to make time for the packets given, which are about 12-14 pages long. He gives lots of extra credit opportunities so take advantage of that. You will also need to attend class to pass. Highly recommended, I would take his class again.

Mr. Wintz is a great instructor. The packets you have to do for this class are a bit lengthy and some are tough but most of the answers are easily found in the textbook, but I'd recommend getting the online book. He likes chocolate and coffee a lot, so if you give him chocolate, you'll be on his good side and there definitely are benefits to that.

This was my second time taking Professor Wintz, he is by far my favorite professor! I enjoy his lectures and he's just an overall good guy. There are 3 packets in this class, a presentation and 2 lengthy papers. But that's it! It really isn't that much work if you don't procrastinate. This class has been one of my favorites. He clearly loves what he is teaching and he teaches this class by &quot;telling the story of religion.&quot; This class only had 3 packets, all answers are found in the textbook, a research paper, and paper on an interview from a congregation around or in Mesa. Overall, very interesting and informative honors class!

Amazing lectures! The only problem that i had was that COVID-19 ruinned the second half of the semester and i couldn't listen to Mr. Wintz' storytelling. If you aren't willing to put in the time to do the weekly packets (10-15 pages each and about 3-6 hours to complete), this isnt the class for you. PS- impossible to fail if you do the work/EC

I really enjoyed taking Wintz's class. There's work you've got to do, but if you to the work you will definitely get an A. He grades pretty nice on papers and when he offers extra credit, do it! Attending class is important because after a certain number of absences, he will drop you. Great teacher and all around a great guy!

Enjoyed his class but Packets are SO LONG FOR EACH RELIGION . IF YOUR NOT THE TYPPE THAT has the patients to read the whole chapter and dig for the answer this isn't the class for you.
