Very intelligent man with a good sense of humor
Good teacher, good sense of humor, interesting.
repeats himself over and over, and he gives out too much work.
He was a good teacher as long as you read the book, but he was really boring in class
We had take 3 TAKE HOME EXAMS. There was a lot of reading, but for me being African American, it was the most beneficial class I have had so far. Dr. Wynne is an excellent teacher, who keeps it real, and tells it like it is.
Good teacher, but you are on your own. Lectures can be both interesting and boring. Nice enough, but don't ask stupid questions. Just don't.
boring boring boring
He is the most boring professor out there, really vauge, makes you feel like an idot. Lots of essays, if you can put up with it stay. I got a B.
very sarcastic, not very understanding, not good at giving notes, way too hard
As long as you rewrite the whole book for the take home essays, you'll get an A. You really don't have to read it. Just copy it.
The worst teacher I ever had. He sounds like a robot. He is not nice, not hepful and don't care about students he seems to be there just for the money. He don't care about your opinion and he makes every body feel stuped he don't let u write down hes notes
Very clear and explicit about the assignments. Has a good sense of humor and expects the normal out of his students. His comments keep the class focused in on what the topic of study is about.
He talks very slow and his tone is deliberately condescending when addressing the entire class. You're expected to read the book before he lectures on it. Then read more for essays. Lots of reading to do in this class.
he looks like he's homelss. lectures in a monotone voice, and is very sarcastic. just be alert in class. easy to pass if you pass his tests. study!
Would not recommend, pretty sleepy with his style of lecturing on powerpoint, which is like reading straight out from the textbook, does not explain a lot
Can be sometimes boring, but also very clever at times. Must read a lot to stay in class, and never, ever fall asleep or look dead.
SUCH an ****, SO full of himself. This was definately one of the most mind-numbingly boring, intellectually insulting classes that I have ever had to suffer through. I wish that I could save the students who unknowingly sign up for his class. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!
4 tests, hard but you have extra credit every day that can bring you up whole grade. must read book on your own cause he doesn't lecture well. He helps you a lot if you se him in his office. He'll tell you exactly what to look for. pretty boring class if psych doesn't interest you.I got a B+
Wynne is very condescending. He does NOT know how to teach. His lectures are on powerpoint. I didn't have to write notes, everything was in the textbook. 4 exams and final: hard. Do not consider him at all. No joke.
OK THIS TEACHER CAN PUT YOU TO SLEEP RATHER QUICKLY AND HE WILL WAKE YOU UP EVEN FASTER HIS LECTURES ARE SO BORING AND HIS TEST ARE VERY HARD BUT HE IS VERY SMART BE READY TO DO LOTS OF READING
Absolutely terrible. Wynne plegurises directly from the textbook into his Powerpoint program, where he reads it to you in his Ben Stein voice. He doesnt explain a thing, he reads the book to you. This class made me contemplate suicide. Save yourself a hernia and take an online class.
He can be boring at times, but if you read the book you will understand him. the thing in this course is that you have to read the book because if you don't do it, it will be very hard and you won't like him. He gives extra credit and 4 tests. He is not very hard; it is the course that is.He is nice
HORRIBLE! the most horrible teacher i've ever taken. doesnt even explains the work, he just copies it straight out of the book, might as well read the book and not go to class because the attendance isnt important to him. a suggestion, never take him during a 5 week session
He sucks! I got an A,but I fought with him the whole time.
If you read the book you can succed in his class. He is good at explaining the confusing subjets.
this is a tough class and he is not very helpfull
this teacher is hard. at least he let us out of class somewhat early, but there were some ignorant people in this class that also made it bad for me. do not repeat do not take this man unless the other classes are to full, one mad student.
This guy is a women hater, i hated his class, really boring and he had us writing 7 to 10 page essays every other week, i did almost every essay and i failed, while all my guy friends in the class got A's HORRIBLE!!!!!!
He is such an angry person. He has ridiculous rules and he will lecture a student about being late, for example, in front of everyone. He is rude and not understanding. I do not understand how he grades.I studied for every test and when I finished I thought I had b's and I had F's and I am not dumb! He is soooo unhelpful. Please don't take him!!!!
he is not a very good teacher. he is a bitter old man that that makes a person feel worthless. he really needs to be a happier person. i think that he should take the books advice and get help.
He is a bitter old man that does nothing but read Powerpoint slides all class long. He doesnt do much to help the student attain a clear understanding of what hes talking about. He makes you feel stupid.
He is very boring serious unfriendly old man. He thinks he knows what he is talking about but all he does is read the power point the whole clas and if u are taking notes he clicks off so students won't copy his notes. He makes lame jokes. His test are hard and he never communicates w/ students and he thinks no body could out smart him.Dont take it
absolutely horrible. He made the class immensely boring. It's unbelievable how he just reads directly from the text, which if you do not read, you won't do well. The assignments are as tedious as his lectures. Definitely keep the powerpoint handout & w
absolutely horrible, immensely boring. Unbelievable how he just reads directly from the text, which if you do not read, you won't do well. The assignments are as tedious as his lectures. Definitely keep the daily handout & write down the answers from th
I think he's a very fair teacher, but I don't think he's a great teacher. He gives you what you need, gets to the point and doesn't hide anything. He's very sarcastic but I've been through worse teachers. It's only my 3rd week in his class but so far it's not that bad. Oh yea, there's a hot asian chick in my class. He he
Regardless of what everyone says, i think he is very reasonable. Even though i just F'ed up my last bonus quiz. I've seen way worse professors than him.
An excellent Professor who tell's it like's it is in our american culture and some afra american's can't handle the truth . I did say afra ,just read it's in the book. He get's a #15 from me .
I am probably one person who is going to defend Dr. Wynne. I think he is an excellant teacher regardless what all of the people saying negative things about him. I had him for African Amer psyc,Lifespan psyc, and critical thinking psych and I must admit when I first came to his class I thought he was so mean and rude. But now I think he is great.
i don't know what the hell everyones talking about this guy sucks at teaching. he acts like we're in grade school or something.
Dr. Wynne knows his material. I like psychology, it's just his deliverance in that monotone voice... I just have four words for future students: DO NOT FALL ASLEEP! He will embarass you terribly!
Do not take Dr. Wynne. Just don't take him. You would get a better education listening to lectures by a roll of paper towels.
A very boring professor and he does not teach at all. If you think teaching students from reading out of the book then we could just buy the book ourselves and get an A without paying for his usless teaching services. He is rude, mean and boring. Take him with caution! You have been warned! If you are not African American he wont like u. Good luck!
By far the worst professor I have had in college. All he did was read his powerpoint presentations which is basically the text summarized, and give some hand outs. Horrible multiple choice tests (5 choice) will infuriate you, requiring to completely memorize minute details. Usually a g.e. class ends with 15 students, we ended with 7 or 8...
interesting class.maybe many people don't like him but u ve got to read the book and work MC tests to be ready for the exam and then the exam will be easy.he's weird but sometimes funny.if u don't wanna study then it's not his fault
This guy was so incredibly rude to the students. He wouldn't help any of them if they had any questions instead he would tell them that "this is a critical thinking class" and that they should "figure it out themselves." These comments just don't justify his exsistence as an instructor.
This guy sucks all the way around. He was very rude and unhelpful. Undoubtely he was the worst professor I've ever had. I ended up having to drop and I am an "A" student on average. Don't take him I think he's mad about life.
I thought he was a good teacher. He isn't interest in personal problems or things that affector work. Just as long as you get it in, then there is no problem. I got a A :)
If you are a serious psychology student, I highly recommend him. Yes, he uses lots of powerpoint but you can ask him any psyc questions, you may have. His instruction is very organized and very easy to follow. To get an "A" from him, you just need to work hard and be serious!!!
you will have to work in Dr Wynne's class. there's isn't an easy "A" there. he is very knowlegable of his subjects and he doesn't play games. in his class you are there for one reason to learn. and he is there to teach not to answer ?s about personal and family problems.
The most boring class I've ever taken, I would definitely recommend NOT taking this class unless you absolutely LOVE to read uninteresting material.
This clown is terrible! He is extremely bitter about his lonely life. Skip this joker's class! He has got to be the most boring professor.
WOW. I thought i faced some worse teachers in the past, but this pushes the line. I had a tear in my eye the first day of class. If you have a death wish then go ahead and take this class.
BOOOOO-ring.
He is not a hard teacher if you come to class prepared. His test come straight out of the book and lecture notes. The only thing is that he teaches the class on the basis that you have read and outline the previous chapters, basically the class lecture is like a review session. So if you read ahead of the assigned lecture and outline the chapters
Awful, just awful! He treats his students like they're children! I made the mistake of not checking this site beforehand, now all the Pysch classes are full! Don't take him!
Boring to the point of tears. You would be treated with more respect, learn more, and stay awake longer in a kindergarden class.
Clear, organized and good at herding cats. Very reasonable on deadlines, attendance and homework. Gives clear guidlines for papers and due dates. No surprises on tests.
Very helpful with questions [visit him in his office or call him], gives an enormous amount of extra credit [it brought me up 1 letter grade],though his classes are dull[teaches with powerpoints] he does have a good sense of humor. Do the homework[he accepts late work at any time] and study GradeAid and companion website. Tests are straightforward.
POWERPOINT! all he does is sit in his chair and click on his remote, he only uses powerpoint that has all the info is in the book so if u read it his lectures are pretty useless. but thats not the worst part he so dull n boring and alot of times is RUDE i suggest you dont take him and his tests are extra hard n tricky so if your lazy expcet an F
He is a bit boring, but ALL of his tests come directly from the book. I recommend using the companion websites and taking the practice tests to study. Passed with a B+. He wasn't that bad. =)
He's a good teacher and fun just don't miss class because you will definitely fall behind. He lets you work on worksheets with other classmates and he reviews the material before every quiz. Just pay attention, do the reading and extra credit (this is college not high school), if you do all the readings you will get an A
I am not surprised to see these type of comments, but I do not agree with them. He is straight-forward and doesn't play games. I like him. Classes are discussion based with written take home exams, three questions, three pages each. All you do is rephrase the articles. I learned a great deal and I am glad I took the class. Slackers beware!!
ALMOST LIKE AN INDEPENDENT COURSE, ONLY YOU HAVE TO ATTEND CLASS EVERYDAY. HE USES THE TEXTBOOK ALL THE TIME! PAGE BY PAGE.
He is an ok teacher....everything on the test is like 80% in the book so you cant really wing it in his class.....the best advice i can give is take notes in your book and read the chapters he assigns before you get to class....use the study guide too its really helpful
ended up getting a B, but it was hard cuz it was during winter. hes great, just read, and all he does is review the day after. go wynne go!!!!!
I took his psyc 5 and psyc 3 class. Dr. Wynne is a great teacher. Just pay attention and keep up with the readings, and ask lots of questions and you should do fine.
Very intelligent psychologist but not a very intelligent teacher.he teaches this class like you are in grad school or have a BA in psych His exams are extremely tricky for a lower division class. he is obsessed with his rules. he makes everyone talk so you would stay awake in his BORING class. like said he is a good psychologist but not a good prof
He is a good psych teacher overall, just boring. His test are based mainly on the book. On the test day you have to turn in a paper on one chapter of the four chapters covered in a week. If you are not a morning person, do not take his class you will fall asleep. He gives study guides, do the study guides & you will pass. Grade based on tests!
Everyone who said he's a bad teacher doesn't know what they're talking about. We read the book. He lectures from the book. The tests are from the book. The study guide is based on the book. No confusion. All the information you need is right in front of you. And the daily quizzes (for extra credit!) definitely will boost you from a B to an A.
For intro (5):pure lecture, if you attend class reading the book is not vital, studying for tests are a must! Fair amount of extra credit. Kind of boring, but straightforward. For Critical Thinking: SO much fun. Part lecture, part group activity. Easy. One of my favorite classes. Wynne is hilarious if you like deadpan comedy!
A bit of a boring teacher. He's funny sometimes, but other than that the lectures are pretty dry. The class is not hard, just expect to write A LOT of essays and the final exam is nothing but an essay too. I'd only recommend him if you're interested in learning about African American Psychology.
damn hard teacher. no matter how long i study it never pays off.
READ THE BOOK!! no need to take notes because he lectures straight out of the book so just pay attention in class to help you retain the material. papers are easy; it's always best to write MORE than too little. no group work=good. come to class every day because he gives out 3 pt extra credit vocab quizzes which REALLY help to boost your grade.
Horrible teacher. We barely have anytime to write notes before he is on the next slide. Always scared the crap out of me when he would slam his on his book, just to make sure we are listening.
I do agree, READ THE BOOK!However, I also encourage you to take notes on concepts rather then copying the powerpoint slides word by word. Its not going to happen. he quickly goes over each slide. Also, read the chapter he is going to go over class before going to class.study vocab. do this and you will be fine. Trust me, I got an A last semester.
A little obnoxious and strict. He's an ok teacher. When students ask questions, he doesn't really directly answer the question. He is helpful if you go to his office. Test are very hard. He offers extra credit through daily quizes. You need to read daily or else you'll fall behind. I took him in winter also so it was very fast pace.
Racist teacher! He thinks he can call african americans the n word because he's african american. When I told him I was offended, he told me to stop "chimping out". I dropped this class fast! And this is my favorite subject.
he could care less about attendance, the papers are easy so don't stress, you have to read the articles to understand the quizzes at the end, and his voice is pretty annoying. thats pretty much it, only take if your interested in black psychology
His questions come from some teacher website for the book. THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO answer all the questions in the STUDY GUIDE with out looking in the book. and KEEP PRACTICING.
It's fairly easy to pass if you do all the reading(It's a lot). There are 4 behavioral explanations, make sure you write at length the behavior description(There are 3 parts). There are reading quizes at the end of class worth 3pts extra credit and usually are the key terms in the beginning of the chapter. Come to class for the quizes, they help.
Good straightforward way of teaching. I loved how he gave an outline of what was to be expected and followed through with it. He also made himself available for make-up tests and questions. The only reason I got a B is because I slacked off in the beginning. The book is a must, but class isn't. Those 6 pt. extra credit definitions sure do pay off!
DR. WYNNE IS AN GREAT TEACHER. WHEN YOU FIRST MEET HIM HE WAS STRICT, BUT ONCE THE SEMESTER GOES BY HE IS REALLY FUNNY, AND HELPFUL. I WOULD TAKE THIS CLASS VERY EARLY ON AT ELCO B/C IT TEACHES U A LOT ON HOW TO STUDY PROPERLY YOU HAVE 4 ESSAYS TO WRITE BUT THEY ARE EASY AND HE DOESNT READ THEM, HE GRADES IF U SET THEM UP HOW HE TEACHES YOU,TAKE IT
WORST TEACHER EVER! first off, he treats his students like middle school kids! I am questioning his qualifications to teach this course at this point. His examples are dumb and his test is ridiculous. His voice is annoying and he has made me less interested in psychology. He needs to get his tests elsewhere bc his test is so poorly written
ughhh. boring powerpoint lectures, monotone voice, and very hard tests! 3 very long chapters for one 50 question test. it doesnt add up how all that info can be put into such small amount of questions! i only got a high grade bc of all the extra credit. take him if you're good at reading extensively and understanding complex questions.
All we do is read from the book. You have to read 3 chapters in like one week and a half. requires 6 hours of studying just for this course. not a fun teacher and not helpful at all. regretted taking him...even though i passed
There is a quiz every single class so attendance is mandatory. Aside from quizzes there are 3 exams, all take-home essays. You must read the book in order to do well. As a class I found this to be an easy A. But the teacher is very old school and can sometimes be a jerk.
ok so he is not the most entertaining teacher, but he is "by the book". just READ! its simple.the grade aid is like half the test. if you just literally read and read and test yourself w/practice problems. guaranteed A. and show up every day b/c the extra credit almost adds up to a whole test. if you do well in the beginning, no stress on the final
Not the kind of teacher you feel comfortable asking questions. The class itself is easy if you're good at memorizing terminology. Scantron tests, 2 papers, xtra credit..Felt like he wasted a lot of time asking the same Q 3X if he didnt get a response from everyone..so, not the best teacher but easy class IMO.
All he does it talk and talk and talk. He assigns so much reading and doesn't give examples, or do anything to help you retain the information. His tests are hard and long. You basically have to have the text memorized to do well. Good luck.
THIS DUDE IS REALLY WACK... I'VE NEVER FAILED A CLASS UNTIL I GOT IN HIS...HE'S SUPER BORING AND HIS TEST ARE HARD... I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE FAILING UNTIL I SEEN THIS WEBSITE
This class requires a ton of time and energy. He goes over the text in class, but he doesn't do it slow enough to take notes. Tests are pretty easy if you study, and he does give extra credit.
good teacher. gives you a quiz every class but they'r easy. you know if your doing well in class. goes through the notes fast but thats why you need to do your homework. easy class as long as you read. he does answer your questions. not a good class for someone looking to slack off and pass.
His class is purely memorization from the book. Overall the class was hard, but with the quizes given daily it brings up my grade in the end significantly. The tests were hard but can be made up once for up to 70%. He expects the WHOLE class to answer him on every question he asks and I suggest drinking coffee before going to this class. Good luck!
Old school professor that uses a lecture style of teaching straight from powerpoint. He gives a daily one question quiz that is worth 3 extra credit points. I found the class to be an easy A. Just do the practice tests in the grade aid that comes with the book and you'll know all you need to for the exams. He's not for everyone, but he's decent
Many people ended up dropping his class due to the daily tests and papers due every week... so attendance is mandatory but at least you knew what to expect, so no surprises. He's a very dull teacher tho' but he's very knowable so dont take him for granted. Its only hard if you dont do your work but for those who dont want to be stressed out skip.
You don't have a choice, but to take him. He is the only teaching psy 16. He's is okay..but doesn't give a damn about you. He goes over reading assignment. Test is hard because of situational questions. You have four essays. He's cold blooded teacher since you have to answer your own questions if you got one.
Epic fail. He enjoys, even laughs when students fail. Does not answer questions, only repeats what he just said or says to look it up online.Very condesending and mean. If you only have him as a choice, wait until next semester and take a teacher who teaches instead of reading straight off of powerpoint. This class would be better strictly online.
I have never worked so hard to fail a class in my life. His tests are easy but even if you know the answers, you fail anyway. If he doesnt like you (and that goes for most students) it appears that you fail for some reason. Very biased and comes off to hate all students. Doesn't answer questions. If you care about your GPA, don't take him.
I took him in the fall. To be honest, the test are based on the vocab, powerpoint and the book. I managed to get an A but you need to memorize vocab to get extra credit, it helps alot and DO NOT go on mypsych lab until the last day before the test. the questions are based on mypsychlab. they are very similar. n the 2 explanations are easy too.
kinda boring. just uses power point, but if you use mypsychlab, and know the vocab word at the end of class its an easy A. I get Cs on test but i have an A in the class cause of extra credit! take him if you arent lazy!!!
THE TEST ARE KIND'VE HARD BUT AS LONG AS YOU READ THE CHAPTER PRIOR TO GOING TO CLASS AND YOU TAKE NOTES YOU'LL PASS WITH NO PROBLEM. THERES TOOONS OF EXTRA CREDIT SO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT.!!!! I LOVE THIS TEACHER. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME TAKING HIM. WILL BE TAKING AGAIN.
BEST CLASS EVER!!! KEEP THE TEXTBOOK FOR REFERENCE.
Prof Wynne offers a LOT of extra credit so take advantage of it. I know I didn't and deeply regret it. Even so, I def recommend him. If you fail one of his tests he lets you retake it except for the final. Basically if you read the book and know the vocal and do all the extra credit you should get your A.
he is a very strait forward teacher, is class is ally boring, and his tests are very confusing. i do not reccomend him at all.
He's a VERY NOT NICE person on day one. Makes sure you know that he's a doctor, he knows better than you, and tells you that you will fail if you don't do things his way (which is NOT true at all). He said you HAD to use the MyPsychLab to pass. I didn't use it at all and got a B. Read the book; class is pointless since he puts the book on a ppt.
this teacher has a very rude way of speaking to students. instead of direct ans to students who are there to learn, he takes his responses to a different level. i took his class in winter, and failed with a d . i don't recommend his class.cares nothing for students in my opinion
You are better off taking an online class. Aside from the extra credit he offers, you could just read the text by yourself.
He thinks we're all stupid or something. After every test, he always asks us why we're not doing the extra credit. The lectures are so boring! I wouldn't even go to class if it wasn't for the extra credit at the end.. He really hates on his students--one time he called us fat. Get a different teacher, seriously.
As long as you read the book, retain the information, do what he asks you to do on the essay and turn it in on time, you will get an A. The essays are not difficult because as long as you follow the rubric, you will get full credit. Also, he offers PLENTY of extra credit. An A in my opinion is not that hard to get in this class :)
He is crystal clear. Just do what he says. The extra credit quizzes online are key. Very similar to the tests. 3 pts extra credit quizzes are offered at the end of each class. 3 pts! And he did say half of the class is fat. It wasn't so much mean as it was just true. Ha. The easiest A I have ever earned.
Dr. Wynne is awesome, straight forward, and pretty funny. His personality may rub you the wrong way at first but don't take it personally. Easy A, if you read the chapters before class, show up to class, and do the extra credit on-line assignments. There's also an opportunity to get 3 extra credit points at the end of every class from his quizzes.
Didn't really like him, but his class was easy as hell so whatever. His lectures are directly from the book, so it's pointless to come to class. But he gives out extra credit every day, so it's good to come.. He's kinda mean.
Do not take this teacher if you don't have to, he sucks. He does not teach well. All he does is make power points straight from the book and reads right off of it. & he goes fast so you can't take notes. Class is a waste of time. This should be offered online! He is not engaging or interesting at all. & he'll call you out in class-no food or phones
Class is pretty much him repeating what was in the chapter and so the only reason for going to class was for the extra credit. Not hard to get an A especially with all the extra credit offered. The teacher has a personality not many may like but he can be funny and very wise.
He's got an interesting personality but isn't so great at teaching. Lectures straight from the book so if you read the text, you'll pass. Doesn't take attendance but if you show up, the extra credit quizzes at the end of the lecture will boost your grade. Isn't very helpful or clear even when asking for clarification on some points, though.
This class is simple read the book, pass the class. lots of extra credit to around. while he is not the most interesting professor he is an easy class if you do the reading. On occasion he will make you feel stupid if you ask questions to ask with caution. Not fun, but easy class.
All he does is read from the book, that's all the lecture is. He does offer a lot of extra credit by giving you a word to define after every class, and lectures usually end early as soon as he reads the chapter. But I wouldn't reccomend this teacher to anyone, His teaching methods don't help you learn.
Make yourself a favor and do not take this class!! Terrible teaching method and goes to fast you won't even have time to write down any notes. He does not go out of his way to apply what he is teaching, just reads from a power point.
He literally just reads from the book for class lectures. It is pointless to attend but he gives out extra credit quizzes that can help you grade in the end.
Do yourself a favor and don't take this class. His teaching methods do not help you understand the material. He reads right off the power points and goes through them fast. There is never any classwork involved so you don't even get to talk to the other people in your class.
You will have to read the book because his lectures are just "reviews" of what you should have read in the book. Only has 4 exams, and 4 written papers. There is extra credit at the end of every class, and for doing the practice tests online. This is an easy A, people who don't like to read will not do good in this class.
Read your textbook and do his extra credits because they are like gold. He gives lectures on powerpoints and skims pretty quickly. But he asks if any of us have any questions.
The entire semester consisted of Lectures, Exams and Quizzes. The class was literally a huge Socratic Seminar, everyone voicing opinions and personal experiences EVERY SINGLE DAY! Exams aren't as bad, he'll assign 4 different essay topics which have to be 3 pages each which equal a total of 12 pages. Not an Easy A but not that difficult either.
4 exams, tons of extra credit, and very informative lectures. If you do all the extra credit there is no way you'll get anything lower than an A.
4 exams, tons of extra credit, and very informative lectures. If you do all the extra credit there is no way you'll get anything lower than an A. :)
I took him this summer for first session & I can honestly say that he is a great professor. He gives a lot of extra credit just make sure you do the reading and STUDY otherwise you won't get the credit for that day. He frequently asks students if they have any questions so if you have any take advantage & ask away. Read, study, & pay attention.
He's not difficult once you figure out his system, but if you don't show up, or don't study you're screwed. I only read the book when I had to.
His lectures are reading the power point, and his power point is the definitions in the book. Going to class is a waste of time except he gives extra credit quizzes at the end of every class. If you want to learn psychology. Don't take him, If you want to get a GE out of the way without much effort, he is your guy.
As long as you read the textbook, listening to his lecture is like reviewing for your exam. Gives a lot of credit that would actually boost your grade. Just make sure you don't fall asleep and respond to him whenever he asks something. Great professor to talk to outside of class. He also knows a lot of psych stuff if you ask him question in class.
Terrible. Clear grading material. Don't procrastinate on essays- impossible to pass if you don't pace your projects.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! What no one says on here is that extra credit is worth .1% of your grade. All he does is read the definitions out of the book. Don't take this class if you aren't willing to read every night and not show up for the class. Theres 4 exams and a couple essays.
Absolutely horrible teacher. Super boring and reads straight from the book. The one thing that drove me crazy and made me want to drop the class is he would give a word and use the word to define the term. For example, what is brain surgery, surgery on the brain. Horrible class, do not take. Not worth the credit what so ever!
Really didn't enjoy his class, it isn't that he is a bad professor but all he does is read power points which for me isn't helpful. The exams are clear but not so much if you don't read every chapter. I've never failed a class until this one which really sucks. I don't recommend him if you are a student who does better with teacher interaction.
his teaching style wasn't for me all he did was open the book and project it on the screen & read straight out from the book. he told us to not ask him to stop & repeat something bc he wouldn't. there weren't any helpful worksheets so if you take his class be prepared to read a lot & basically do everything on your own.
Class is boring because he literally reads the textbook chapters out loud from a slideshow (disappointing, because he's a prepared professor and has interesting things to say). Gives a lot of extra points (quiz each class + online material). But he is not a good option if you can't study by yourself and read a LOT.
Very heavy reading, it is almost as if he just reads the slides to collect a pay check. He goes over the slides incredibly fast, often finishing a chapter in 45 mins, he does not slow down. DO NOT pick this teacher unless you would like to spend tremendous amounts of extra time learning the textbook yourself. He does not teach!!! He only recites.
Just do all the extra extra credit and study the tests in the back of the book and you should be fine. He gives 3 points extra credit every class and that does add up. I would take the class again now that i have figured out his style. The essay he makes you do, you'll get 100% as long as you turn it in.
This class isn't hard, but it isn't easy. The reading can be exhausting and stressful, but when it comes to the tests its pretty easy, as long as you thoroughly read the chapters and memorize the terms you should be good to go. Even though he reads dryly from power points, he does stop and ask if anyone has any questions so that does make up for it
This class is essentially a memory based class. You don't have to really show up to class but he gives extra credit quizzes at the end of most classes. He is not a bad professor but is not great . As long as you read the book you should pass his super easy tests. Plus his class has an online lab that gives you practice test for extra credit.
he literally just reads off of his projector. dont take this super early morn it will be the end of u. HOWEVER quizzes at the end of each class are SUPER helpful w/ final grade. you have 2 easy 2page essays, i got perfect scores on both. you have 5 big tests including final. took an ap psych class in hs so advantage but slides kinda help to study.
Class is useless. Only reads off of his notes. The only reason it is worth it is because he gives extra credit quizzes at the end of class. Does not round grades.
This a really good class, honestly one of the only ones I paid attention to this semester. He's funny and gives a deeper analysis of the information given in the book. Do the reading, but if not he discusses the whole chapter during class. 3 exams 12 pages each minimum; answer the EXACT question (Txtbk SECTION) asked for the exam and nothing more.
Straightforward professor. Clearly tells you what you need to do in order to pass. Reading is very important in order to pass exams as his lectures are not "discussion based" unless someone asks a question. I recommend you do all of the PLENTY of extra credit offered. Attendance not required, BUT the quizzes will help you out with (2-4) pts daily!
He has a way of making you feel stupid, but I enjoyed his humor. The class is easy to pass if you're great ready.
not a great teacher. there are no discussions he just reads off the powerpoint word for word. ALOT of reading, you can tell he doesnt care about the students only his paychecks.
He is a good teacher but just get ready to just listen to power points all semester. He just sits in his chair and lectures about the chapter you read. He gives extra credit quizzes at the end on a key term that was mentioned in the reading and those quizzes really help. His tests are average and gives 2 behavior explanation essays which are easy !
One of the best classes I've taken. He reviews everything but how well you do is on you, study the amount of hours he suggests, gives extra credit for the study plans that you complete and at the end of every class "Pop Quiz". Easy A if you read and study the material 2 hours a day and practice with the online study plans!
You can tell he HAS to be there;not very passionate. However, he makes the class laugh every once in a while. I'd say he gives "tough love". There are 4 nine page "essay/exams" to be written (36 total). Not as hard as it sounds though. The whole class you just read, discussions only if someone asks a specific question. Interesting subject overall.
He never teaches he just wants you to read everything and vaguely goes over it in class.
Professor Wynne has been teaching for years, so he knows his stuff. His class is heavy on lectures. Unfortunately, every class is him reading straight off the text book. Quizzes everyday (Luckily, for extra credit). 2 essays due throughout semester and about 5 major exams. Easy class if you attend everyday and study for his tests.
Prof Wynne is very straightforward in what he expects. He gives ppts based on the readings and the exams are straight from the text. Lecture can be boring at times but he knows how to make the class laugh. Every lecture ends with an extra credit pop quiz defining a key term. The end of a chapter includes that quiz + a 10 question non graded quiz.
The class was very chill and he doesnt expect much from you. We pretty much had open ended discussion post based on a question which I thought were interesting and it counts as extra credit which I thought was cool. He gives feedback on it and he knows when youre reading the book Do that and take the test every 2 weeks. Other than that, easy A
Says he gives 'tough love' but very much feels like you are a nuisance to him. First impression not good, he likes to single out students very often so keep your head down show up on time and do the readings. Classes are literally quick reviews of material and quizzes (not graded).Good thing is easy class work and lots of extra credit opportunities
This professor does not teach at all. It is a self taught class. I do not recommend his class. He just assigns a ton of modules and then expect you to know everything when the exam comes.
Professor Wynne is a chill professor. However, he doesn't explain the material needed in order for students to learn and pass the class. On a positive note, there are extra credit opportunities to bump your grade up. If you are taking Psychology with him, I recommend reading the textbook thoroughly and taking notes. Studying for hours is crucial.
Contrary to many reviews, I found Professor Wynne's class quite simple. I took Psych 110 and there were only three 12-page essays which he calls exams. You have a week to complete it and I did find it difficult at times to write so much. You will not do well if you do not answer the exam questions for the exam properly and from the textbook.
Dr.Wynne reads straight from the book, skips multiple sections and ask questions instead of actually telling us what is the next section to read. He gives us a week to finish a 12 page essay on material that is not explained in class. This class is not worth anything; might as well just buy the textbook and do independent study with it
Surprisingly easy to get a good grade, as long as you go to every class, skim the readings, and really try on the extra credit at the end of most classes. I liked that Dr. Wynne is about business, but he was extremely cold and would easily get upset and impatient with the class. If you take him, keep your head down and do the work.
isn't one to be very compassionate and caring, so i don't recommend him for those who want a more open and kind instructor. has somewhat of a temper and can be quite impatient, and has gotten upset at me for something insignificant. he also doesn't really teach, he just reads what he wrote down in powerpoints. rarely goes in depth about his lecture
Professor Wynne has a severe lack of compassion for his students, and little understanding of what may be going on in their lives. If you take any of his courses, be prepared to learn nothing in class, as you are expected to learn everything at home through research and reading the textbook. Heavy essays too, be prepared to learn on your own.
Dr. Wynne is pretty laid back and has boring lectures. The class is easy but not engaging at all and you will often leave the class learning literally nothing. If you are an independent learner you will love this class, but I generally didn't enjoy the class. I hated my experience in his class.
Professor Wynne is rather distant with his students; he does not engage with them when teaching and only reads from his own powerpoint notes. But students must read the modules he presented due to random questions in the exams. He will give you at least two weeks to retake them if you don't pass, but you are on your own.
He does not give white students A's. Made this very clear.
Dr. Wynne's PSYC-101 class is a bit hit-or-miss. He can come across as distant and impatient, but the material is surprisingly easy if you stay on top of the readings and attend every class. unstuck study was a lifesaver for quick review before exams.
Professor Wynne only read the slides. He didn't connect with the students. Most of your grade will be based on 4 test, they are not complicated, but you do need to read and understand everything mostly on your own time.
All he does is read from the slides and assigns 2 chapters every class. You basically have to teach yourself.
