He must have canged, becuase hes much better now.
Great teacher. Go to class and review notes. He makes the class easy.
Apparently his English has improved because I was able to easily understand him. The way that he presents the material left me under prepared for the exams. The exams are written by someone else so the way that the material appeared on the test and he presented it are different. I think Newman is a much better prof. Also a new text is startingsoon
I had Yampuler for acct 2 and he was a great teacher!!!!! He goes out of his way to help you with the material. I would recommend him to other students anytime. He curves well and does not try to trick you on the material of the test.....Great professor
Dr.Yampuler is a great professor, his test is easy and he is helpful.
good instructor, doesn't really teach in class, just lectures over the power point slides but you have to read the book and do the homework problems. curves REALLY well on exams, group project and homework assignments help boost your grade up. gives exam reviews which are similar and helpful to prep for exams,
The subject is hard but he is a good teacher. Attendance is a must, there is a weekly sign in sheet. Keep up with all the homework due dates. Lectures consist of him teaching from power points.
Ok he has an accent but it is no big deal you can understand. Sit in the front of the class as he writes really small! He is helpful and does examples, to get an A read the chapters and STAY ON TOP OF THEM, DO NOT FALL BEHIND! Towards the last test he does a daily sign in sheet, the second test is the hardest. Stay on top of the homeworks, he is no
Had him for managerial. Exams were hard but the professor in most cases helped us prepare. Clear explanations, though sometimes repetitious. Very accessible when I needed it (in email, I didn't go to office hours). Good professor!
Great professor! intermediate II is the toughest course ever but Yampuler is very helpful. Made up a lot of new material you cannot find in the book. Had some mistakes in the review material for the exam though. Exams are hard, but the curve is big! I recently graduated and took an accounting job and this class is still veryuseful.
The IFRS class was the best class I had in the MS program. Yampuler is so knowledgeable and current. I sometimes lost him with the difficult topics, but he always brought real companies as examples which was very interesting. You do not have a choice with IFRS, he is the only one, but it is a great choice!
Attendence is not necessary to make a good grade on the tests. He reads the slides and doesn't offer additional information. You could read slides yourself, take the test and easily pass. Real world examples are interesting in class, but mostly the class moves slowly and drags on. Tests are easy if you study. HW and group project easy too. No book.
(Honors section) Prof. Yampuler isn't the best accounting professor I've had, but he's certainly not terrible. He's a methodical lecturer and doesn't tend to deviate from the slides much. The real disappointment is that he doesn't try to engage the class, which makes a dull subject like managerial accounting even duller.
I actually like the way Yampuler teaches. Very organized. He could post the slides more than a day before class, but the slides are good. I felt very prepared for the exam. No thrills in the classroom, but a good teacher.
Good class. Big curves on exams (more on first midterm). With homework, project and coming to class you can easily get a B. Nice prof.
He is a good teacher, very nice and goes through all problems on the board. But the class it self is really boring. There is homework online, 1 easy project, 2 tests, 1 final. If you actually read the accounting book it will help you a lot.
Good methodical teacher. He has deep knowledge of accounting and really tries to make you understand. Sometimes repeats himself too much which is not useful. Class is not interesting but not really prof fault. hey, its accounting...easy exams, clear syllabus, OK curves.
(summer class) This was a hard class, but the professor was very helpful. I especially liked the review questions for the exam. They resembled the real exam questions. Grades for homework and attendance really boosted my grade. I got an A-. Big curves in all three exams also. I was a satisfied customer. I heard the other professor is much tougher.
Quite boring. Though Accounting isnt very exciting to begin with, His quiet voice and timid demeanor make for a very long class. Tests and HW arent bad at all, but sitting in class (mandatory) is an exceptionally dull experience. Dont take if you get bored easily.
Yampuler is a serious professor with deep knowledge. I found him available 24/7. He is not entertaining in class but I prefer that to a clown that doesn't know his stuff. He will make sure you understand everything. He is super respectful when answering students questions in class. My kind of prof. I recommend Yamp!
Interesting lectures, makes up examples and throws in nerdy jokes. Cute personality. Very good notes and very helpful reviews. Class participation points by signing in.
my god this class was blah...he knows the stuff and explains very weell, but the subject is so depressing, study study study, first exam easy, second hare then fianl, one project(hit the lab they will help) on never miss class trust me on that. overall a good but not fun class
This course had too much in it, but the professor was good. Exams were departmental and Yampuler wrote only half of it. I wish the course would focus on less topics but this is not prof fault. He was always available and gave great reviews before the exams. Clear notes. sense of humor.
He is punctual, responds to emails almost instantly, and posts grades for tests (even the final!) on blackboard within 4 hours (sometimes quicker). I really enjoyed his class. I think he only teachers Intermediate 2 in the summer. It's nice to get this class out of the way. I also think he is very very fair with grading and everything. Good guy!
He's a very nice professor and teaches the main points well, but unless you've had your morning coffee prepare to fall asleep as he's not the most engaging lecturer (although it must be hard to make cost accounting exciting). Curves on exams and grades reasonably. Would take him again.
This class isn't too bad, if you practice the problems he does in class before an exam and you go through the lecture slides you should be fine. Homeworks aren't as helpful as working the in class problems.
Great professor! Knows what he is talking about and is current; no textbook. Nice, genuine guy. Slides are great. He prepares you very well for exams. Class is curved. If you study slides, in class problems, and HW, you will do well. Classes are a bit boring though. Class is pretty straight forward.
He is such a boring teacher like legit it is impossible to stay awake. He doesn't post up written solutions to the problems so you need to go to class to get the solutions. Tests are ok, hw is easy, project is time consuming but easy, clickers are easy. Just need to understand everything and work the problems. Can make a B with average amt of work.
If you have to take an accounting class and if he's teaching, look no further and take his class! Not being an accounting major, I was worried about taking this class but he's really awesome. He breaks everything down to where people like me could understand. I think he's the best amongst all the accounting professors currently teaching.
I don't like accounting that much but I liked professor Yampuler. He was so clear that the course really looked easy. He also helps with reviews before the exams. I got a B+ without a lot of effort. He is also a nice guy and makes quirky jokes.
Prof. Yampuler is my favorite accounting teacher. He explains things so clearly and is not harsh. He's kind of quiet, but is quick to smile. I felt like a friend was teaching me, versus being belittled and made to feel stupid like some of the others (talkin to you, Harris). Excellent teacher who tests what he teaches. Fair grader, too.
Best teacher of all time! Don't look further, take him, u have my word, u won't regret it! He is so easy. Am a slacker by the way, but I managed to get A's.
Overall he is a decent professor. Class consists of homework and 3 tests. He gives you all the answers to the homework all you need to do is fill in the answers and submit online. Test material comes directly from in class practice problems, they are sometimes almost exactly the same , maybe different numbers. Review HW and examples for the tests.
Great Professor. Helps and details a lot with examples written on board. great for the visual learner! Class is very detailed and has a lot of formulas to remember. He tries to help. Practicing is a must.
I really didn't do well in Acct 2332 so I was scared for this class. professor Yampuler is by far a great professor. The class lectures are long ,but if you attend every class the exams should be a piece of cake. Everything he lectures is on the exam. he also reminds you one week before in what to study and prepare. most easiest Accounting!!
Overall the course was interesting. There were 5 homework assignments which were time consuming but not difficult. Only complaint is usually one of the assignments was due the day of exams and feedback was provided the week after exams even though the homework material was also on the exam. There were two exams consisting of MC. Group project.
solid choice for managerial
Dr Yampuler is a great professor! He'll actually take time to explain things which is really important especially for this specific class. Accounting 2 is harder than Accounting 1 but if you come to class every week, read and practice with the homework, an A is attainable.
He's the best accounting professor I've had so far. Prof Yampuler really explains each chapter and gives very detailed notes. Do the homework each week, study for the tests, go to accounting lab if you need to ensure you make an A. His power points are very organized and his notes are perfect to look back on when studying. Would take again
Mr. Yampuler is a great dude. I am not the smartest tool in the shed, but have managed to make an A in both of his courses. All you must do is go to class. Whatever he works out on the board is going to be on the test so take note of it. Easy as that. I would also like to say that he is there to help you. He has an accent but nothing problematic.
Prof Yampuler is one of those professors that are just so helpful, you can't help but appreciate him. I hear he's teaching intermediate 2 this summer; I hope he's just as great. Def. taking him again. Also, congrats on your new baby, professor!
Very nice professor, He very understandable and tries to help you as much as he can. Highly recommend!!
Professor Yampuler is a very helpful professor and is very clear in terms of what he wants. I can say from personal experience, professor Yampuler wants nothing more than for his students to succeed and do well. His class is very easy, however this man graduated with masters from Harvard and U Tel Aviv, definitely someone you want to know!
Yampuler was such a great professor and the tests were basically the in-class examples that he goes over from the slides. He replaces your lowest test grade with your second highest and will let you miss 3 classes before starting to deduct points from your overall grade. I highly recommend taking him!
Yampuler is hands down the best professor for accounting. Go to class and follow his examples, take really good notes (it will help). For the test he will let you know on what to study make sure to go over the slides to get a good grip of definitions and concepts, and practice redoing the problems in class along with book and it will help you.
Professor Yampuler was an outstanding professor and it was an honor to have sat in his lectures. He simplifies the material and makes it extremely easy to follow along and understand. I wish I could take him for more courses. Simply show up to class and take notes, you'll be fine. Overall, he is a great dude that wants you to succeed. Good luck fam
Dr Yampuler is the best teacher in the University of Houston. He doesn't even look like is an Accounting Professor after coming from Frameworks. He just make it so easy taking the pressure off. Accounting is not easy as people think but when the professor make the students feel like they can ask questions without make you feel bad that's awesome.
Professor Yampuler is great. He explains the material well and gives relevant examples. If you have a question, he makes sure you understand his response. He walks you through this course as much as he possibly can--very smart guy and cares about his students.
Prof. Yampuler is an amazing professor and literally makes managerial accounting a walk in the park. Goes over the book examples and shows every step. The only drawback is the few clicker questions that were given. Other than that, he is a solid choice. Reviews before the exams are great to go over the examples that will be covered by the exam.
Professor Yampuler knows the subject well and does a good job of explaining ambiguous concepts. The lectures can be long and at times boring, but the information was good. He takes attendance for a grade. His exams are not difficult, and he provided a guide for topics that would be on the exam. The group project can be difficult but not impossible.
It was a privilege to sit in his lectures. Write down everything he does and study from that along with his power points and review and you'll be fine. I didn't use the book once because his teaching method is truly flawless. Not "easy" per say but extremely fair grading, format, and structure. Take him!
Love Professor Yampuler's teaching. This was my second class with him and will actually take him for Intermediate 2 in the summer because he's such a good professor. One of the easiest A's I've ever gotten by showing up to class and taking notes, doing hw, and he tells you exactly what to study. Highly recommend!
Great professor, would definitely take again. He goes over everything and makes everything very clear. Half of the HW is basically guessing and you get full credit. The other half takes an hour or maybe two. Project is easy. Im not a hard worker yet I did very well and he cracks a few jokes (they're not funny) but is entertaining. Highly recommend!
A very effective teacher with great notes and lectures. He's one of the very few professors that actually knows how to teach and then provide the right type of homework that tests your ability on what he taught. Great teacher, take him for any course if you can, he's great!
Everything you read below my post is true! He is the best Accounting professor I ever had. Most people say that ACCT 2332 is harder than ACCT 2331, but I disagree. ACCT 2332 made much more sense when Professor Yampuler explain the concepts. He gives great examples. He does a lot of practice problems in class. I wish I had more professor like him!
If you're looking for a managerial acct prof to take look no further! I went to every lecture because the practice problems he goes over is pertinent for the test and homeworks. He teaches in a way that it makes sense. He's also very sweet and always trying to crack jokes. I actually got an A in 2332 and a B in 2331 so I believe this was easier imo
Great professor! explains the material really well and is genuinely kind to his students. the material is dry but he tries to lighten things up. The assignments are a bit challenging if you start them at the last minute. Attend class because there are no text books so you need the examples he does in class, they are not all in the powerpoint.
Dr. Yampuler gives good lectures and defines his expectations well, he is a bit monotone, so drink caffeine in class. I took him for cost accounting and IFRA and he expects for you to put in the work and understand the material. He is compassionate and helpful during office hours. He grades IFRA hw hard and wants detail.
So easy to get a good grade on this class because everything you need to know for the exam is in the examples he does in class so take clear notes of everything he writes on the board. The exams are split 40/64 MC and FR with 4 bonus points you could earn. Go to class because attendance and notes. He is a nice guy and cares that you do well.
Professor Yampuler is great! The problems that we went over in class are simialar to the questions on the exam therefore attendance is a must! He also gives a grade based on attendance so why not show up? The class overall has easy to understand material and is pretty straightforward and Professor Yampuler does a great job helping us understand it.
3 exams. 10-13 questions long. 60% of the grade comes in from Free response which is usually 3 questions. 40% from the multiple choice. He truly cares about his students. He's powerpoints mimic the exam. Attendance is mandatory. Took him for Managerial and Cost and made a A on both.
3 tests, 60% is made up of free response questions (usually 3) and the other 40% is multiple choice (11). Each test has 4 points as extra credit. Attendance is part of your grade & his lectures mimic exactly what is on the test so going to class is super helpful if you want to get an easy A. He's a nice and caring guy!
Took the class during the summer so it was very tough. Great professor but I think he's made his test more difficult and curves way less. No curve on the first test, 3 point curve on the second test, not sure about the final yet. Go to class! The written questions on exams are much tougher than even the most difficult examples in lecture.
Simple really - what you see in class in his slideshow lectures, is what you get on his exams. I studied the slideshows and did the add'l practice problems he posted on his Blackboard several times through a few days before the exams. It's a summer course, so don't completely let yourself go, but know Yampuler has your back.
Professor Yampuler is very knowledgeable and tries to make the class fun with jokes sometimes. His lectures help clarify what you read in the prechapter assignments and hw. He's not boring, just somewhat of a soft spoken person but you can hear what he is saying clearly. I would recommend him because he definitely understands the concept.
Best accounting professor at the University. Always entertaining and really devoted to his work. Show up to class and practice to get an easy A
Nice professor, try and sit on the first row since he is somewhat soft spoken. Just do your work and you should get an A. You have 3 attempts to take quizzes which are not difficult. Online assignments are mostly vocab, and those are easy too. You get out what you put in just like in any other class. Would definitely take him again.
Make sure you do all the homework. Do the readings and attend class for clicker points and in class examples! Hes a really great teacher and breaks concepts down for you. Test are curved . He also gives test reviews ! Tough class but not impossible to make a good grade.
Professor Yampuler is amazing! You have prechapter readings, homework, clickers, along with really helpful exam reviews. He welcomes questions and understand the world of accounting. Do all your work and the class will be a breeze.
He's super helpful, explains things clearly, make sure to go to class for attendance points. Really does care whether you understand something or not.
He's arguably one of the best accounting professors @ UH. He presents the information very cleanly and there are plenty of examples done in class to reinforce what you learned. 2 tests & 1 final w/ curves. Connect assignments online aren't too bad. Go to class, participate in clickers, ask lots of questions, and do the test reviews for an easy A.
Great professor! Takes lectures @ reasonable pace & allows you to absorb info. Tests are tedious, 10 MC & 3 FR w/ subparts. For FR Q's you must remember small details over info learned in class. Do HW assignments early and study them well for the exam, that's how I got an A. 3 tests, HW, attendance grade. Not time-consuming. Take good notes!
Professor Yampuler was a solid choice for Cost. I messed up towards the beginning and had to play catch up, but if I would have started strong this class would have been much easier. Graded on homework, attendance, and exams. Exams make up a significant portion of your grade, but he tells you exactly what to study.
Very smart and kind professor, knows what he is talking about. Takes time to explain concepts/problems. The material can be a little difficult to understand so show up to class (attendance points), and do practice problems.
Took Prof. Yampuler for Int2. Although this course is really difficult he made the concepts more easy and understandable. Exams were pretty hard but not too much (I still received an A). I didn't like the homework on Wiley plus, but we also had that in Frameworks. Yampuler is a great professor. I wish I had more professors like him in Bauer.
Intermediate 2 is a hard class. You need to do all the work you can outside of class in order to prepare you. He does a good job of simplifying the subject, but it is difficult. He makes his exams much harder than the workout problem in class. If you are expecting to the like his cost class, it isn't. If you can maybe take the class, not in summer.
Great teacher, he's the best of all the Accounting 2 professors. Go to class and pay attention and you'll pass with at least a B easily. He helps a lot with everything.
It is a hard course, especially condensed in the summer. Exams are similar to problems in class, only material covered in class are expected to be on exams. Don't slack off over the summer; there's no time to play catch up. 2 midterms, a final, homework, and attendance.
take him right away if you can. He is super nice and helpful teacher
Yampuler is such an amazing professor and makes accounting so simple. Attendance is mandatory for clicker points but his lectures are incredibly helpful regardless. He is the best professor to teach this class by far. Exams are tough but study the slides and you can make an A. Definitely take him if you can!
Professor Yampuler was an amazing professor. Really goes into detail every lecture. Attendance isn't mandatory however he does do clicker points which count toward your grade. Exams are not easy, I studied off the ppts & the digital book and was able to get a B. Two exams, final replaces your lowest grade. A handful of homeworks, but they are easy.
I took the summer session and at first I was worried because intermediate 2 is not the easiest class. However, Professor Yampuler is amazing! His notes makes it so easy to understand the material and the test were exactly what you learned in class. Hes not one to try and trick you. Hes very helpful and by far one of the best ACCT Professors at UH
uses textbook, has weekly lecture videos uploaded which helps in understanding the chapter more. Homework thru connect, test are easy if you keep up with the units and do the review.
I took him asynchronous online all semester and his class was pretty easy. If Im being honest I did not actually look at any lectures , I just played it on silent because its a grade to watch them. The only ones you need to watch are his test review videos which are really helpful for you to understand the test. He is a great professor! Do take!
Great Professor, clear, informational and helpful. His lectures and examples are helpful when it comes to doing your assignments and hes available to help. Take him!
best professor ever. all acct professors at UH (especially Professor Mohan Kuruvilla) need to learn from him. tests are very doable because his recorded lectures only focused on what will be on the test and nothing else. if he does not talk about it, you wont be tested on it. watch his lectures and look through the ppt and you can make an A-B grade
