I completely agree with the person below.
Dr. Z made the best of our 7 hour class. His analogies and anecdotes were very helpful. He gives helpful hints that apply to daily life. The reviews that he gave for tests were extremely helpful. Definitely would take class with him again!
I learned so much from this class. The content was difficult at times, but Dr. Z reinforced every topic with humor, sarcasm, and real-life examples. His teaching style made it easy to remember complicated concepts. Expect to do a lot of studying if you want to do well (as with any anatomy class at any college).
Dr. Zdilla was extremely helpful through the entire course, and would go out of his way to help you learn. He would relate the topics to examples each student was interested in, to assist them in the learning process. His real life experience as a chiropractor was helpful to the class, as he would use examples based on his experience in the field!
I really enjoyed this class. Although 7 hours is really long I felt that Dr. Zdilla was very enthuastic about what he was teaching which made the class very interesting. Also, he does not set you up to fail, if at any time you don't understand something he will gladly take the time to better explain it so you do understand.
I am currently in his class... Great teacher, very funny, relates material to every day life. He gives great reviews before quizzes nothing should come as a surprise unless you don't pay attention.
He's honestly the best prof I had in college, expanding beyond CCAC! He's concerned about his students success, which is demonstrated by his thorough reviews. I appreciate that his syllabus is organized so there isnt a lot of guessing on due dates. His teaching method is “humerus” (ha!)& relates to his field, which makes the class more interesting.
I really enjoyed this class! I learned so much from him I wish I would have taken him for my other anatomy course. He really wants his students to succeed and gives plenty of examples, and some corny jokes, so the information really sticks. There's never any surprises on his exams and he grades very fairly. Definitely a great professor!
Dr. Zdilla shows an animated way of teaching. He doesn't talk over our heads, he teaches us at our level which enables us to learn better. Reviews upcoming tests and quizes and wll go above and beyond in helping if you can't understand a subject. We need more teachers just like him
Dr. Z is extremely relatable and makes the material interesting and memorable. He uses powerpoints (which I love) because the amount of information is crazy and the slides make it organized. He makes each of our classes interesting and uses relatable examples and sometimes humor to help us remember the lessons.
He is amazing! Super helpful in class and outside of class. The notes he gave us were extremely helpful and he made anatomy interesting!
Dr. Z is a wonderful teacher. He does everything he can to make sure students get the material. I took his class over the summer & felt I learned so much more & did so much better in that 6wk class than my last full semester class!!! He makes the learning experience fun. I would highly recommend him!
Dr. Zdilla is a great professor. I looked forward to the class and didn't mind the out of class work and study time. If you pay attention in class you will do well in this class. He explains the material well and cares about the general well being of his students. If I was grading him I'd give him an A+!
Dr Z is an awesome teacher. He really makes learning interesting. If you attended class and listen, you will do well. Defiantly not a boring class. I felt that I learned so much from him. Excellent!
Dr. Zdilla is a wonderful teacher. His class is very funny because he makes it easy for you to understand the topics. He is also a chiropractor and he knows his stuff. I would recommend taking one of his classes.
Dr. Z is a wonderful professor! It makes the hard concepts easy to understand. He is very animated and keeps your attention in a fun way. Highly recommend!!!
Great Professor. Makes learning interesting and fun.
Great Teacher! Learned a lot about the body. Wish I would have taken him for BIO-161, because i really feel that would have helped because he constantly referring back to things my BIO-161 did not teach me.
Dr. Zdilla knows his material. He trys to make class fun. BUT after HOURS of listeing to his jokes, they become very annoying. he randomly posts a lot of online quizzes and homework. his class time is STRICTLY by the schedule. you never leave early, EVER.
If pursuing a Nursing degree, I would highly recommend Mr. Z I am a first year nursing student and I am utilizing the information he taught literally EVERYDAY! Yea some of his rhymes/jokes are real corny but you know what I REMEMBER THEM ALL! Thanks Dr. Z
Good instructor. Tries to keep class interesting. Strict with lecture time/schedule. I would recommend his course!
Hands down the best professor I've ever had! The only people who don't like him are the ones that are not interested in the course. He uses clinical examples from his practice and gives great study tips/ways to remember material. Pay attention, study a little and participate and you'll get an A
Dr. Zdilla is a GREAT professor! I had anatomy at a different university and struggled. When I took Dr.Z, I got a much better understanding of the subject matter and he explains everything thoroughly. He explains it till you understand. I made sure I got Dr.Z for A&P2 this semester. I wouldn't want any other teacher for this class! Makes class fun!
Dr. Z is a great teacher! He uses real life examples and humor to make you remember the topics. Definitely take his classes if you have the chance!
If you have to take an A&P class take it with Dr. Z. He is by far the best professor I have ever had. He makes the material easy to remember by relating it to the world. I took A&P 1 at Boyce and dropped it because the professors were horrible. I am so thankful that I did. Thanks for everything Dr Z!!!
Dr. Z is awesome!! Loved the class and found fun ways to remember the material! Take his class if you can!
Dr. Z is by far the most helpful Professor I've had in my 4 years attending. He takes time to explain topics and has a very unique style/ way of teaching the material. Even though he is by the book when it comes to the class time, I truly didn't mind sitting through his 5 + hour class every week.. He is the best!!
If you are taking Anatomy & Physiology 1 or 2.. Take it with Dr. Z!! Dr. Z was defiantly the best professor I have ever had at any ccac campus. He really cares about his students and he knows his stuff. The class is difficult but you will learn so much! He also hilarious as a plus .. "thanks for coming :)!"
Awesome! Dr. Z is one of the best Professors I’ve taken in a long while. He made learning a very difficult course attainable with understanding the concepts of the material. Dr. Z implements the material in an enthusiastic way that engages the class. In my opinion he should model his teachings to the other science professors.
Zdilla was the best teacher I've ever had, hands down. He was clear, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable of the course subject (and beyond). His class atmosphere was friendly, and his jokes helped remember the material. You just need to make sure you study.
Great Prof! Loved the class! Highly recommend!
I took his Nutrition class this semester online. There are weekly assignments and tests but if you read the material you will pass. He responds right away to emails and is very helpful absolutely loved this class.
I really liked Zdilla as a person, but this was deff a tough class! He's funny and interesting to listen too, but he teaches very broadly and doesn't pin point the important criteria to study, which means you need to study ALOT, so don't take this class unless your prepared to work hard. I would certainly take a class from him again though!
If you are going for nursing, Dr. Zdilla's classes are THE most helpful throughout your courses. I am a currently half way through nursing school and I use the material he taught me all the time. Would totally retake his courses if I had the time! It's a tough class but if you work for it you'll do great. Your summer of 2014 A&P class misses ya!
Dr. Z is one of the best professors I have ever had. I took A&P 1&2 over the summer and it was really hard, but he is very clear on what you need to do to pass. Lots of studying, no homework except a lab book and mastering online. He is very funny and knows material very well.
Dr. Zdilla is pretty cut and dry. You will have a test or quiz everyday. Although it is ridiculous, you cannot get behind. All tests are multiple choice and scantron. There is no hand holding. There is a lot of work outside of class, but anything important is emphasized several times. Do your work, you will pass.
Dr Z is hands down THE best professor I have had. He makes learning complex material understandable. He is very clear in his grading scale, there is absolutely no gray area. As each semester goes on, I Find myself comparing my other teachers to him. Some could learn from his teaching style. To top it off, he's pretty funny, "Thanks for coming!"
Worst class ever. 300 pts of homework and a quiz every week and it's all pointless busy work. Didn't learn a thing. Not to mention half of it contradicts itself. Never again
I've never taken a harder class. I have been a straight A student all my life, I study at least 1 hour everyday starting when the material is given, I get a low C at best on tests. Nearly impossible, the tests are NOT like the material given. Do yourself a favor and choose another professor.
Dr. Z is tough, but fair. He lays out what is expected, when assignments are due, and the points for the entire semester on the first day of class. There is no curve, attendance is a MUST. If you have great time management, time to study, enjoy A&P, and really want to learn Dr. Zdilla is the guy for you. Laziness F
Dr Z is fair and funny. Too many people just don't want to do the work to actually get an education! He presents very entertaining lectures and provides you electronic versions of the lectures as well. He tries his hardest to ensure everyone learns. He is thorough and looks at the body in its totality when teaching A and P. You can't get better.
If you plan to take Zdilla make sure you study and read your text book. His PowerPoints are mostly right out of the book. He is a tough grader but fair. The survey monkeys that he makes are good guidelines but DO NOT study just the stuff on the survey monkey because you will fail the test. His class is enjoyable but you will have to work for it.
Knowledgeable & funny! You'll learn a lot! Sadly his class avg exam grades are 67-72% based 100's of pg's of reading. You're crushed w/ HOURS of homework (it's easy but you'll spend a lot of time for 0.25 pt's) & worst part he makes them due way before whats necessary! Did I mention tons of lab book work? Don't attempt if you work! He expects A LOT
Pay attention to the hints he gives in class about what will be on the upcoming exams. His lectures are straight from the textbook. Make sure you understand general concepts, do not just rely on memorizing the notes, (although, that is very helpful too). Keep up with homework or you will end up with a B instead of an A.
HW is crazy. Due every two days online. He blows through chapters. prepare to learn on your own. He tries to teach by referring to adolescent esque stories instead of just explaining a concept. Maybe he thinks were 12. Trying to be funny he doesn't get the concept acrossed. Wish I could drop the class but it's too late.
Dr. Z, is a great professor. He does expect alot from you, but he is always available to ask questions or to go over something you don't understand. He is very clear on what is expected and does not make acceptions. If you do the work and use your time wisely, you will pass. He is a wonderful professor and really cares about his students.
Study and do all assignments and if possible do them twice! Do the extra credit, you will need it! Very Knowledgable.
Absolute worst teacher Ive ever had. Every test we took more people failed then passed. He doesnt care about his students and is in on a power trip. Do yourself a favor and save yourself your money.
Dr. Z is the best. His AP1 and AP2 have helped me immensely throughout my nursing school experience. Studying is a must. If you take the class seriously, do your homework and pay attention there will be no doubt that you will pass. If you don't do well in his class, you either are not studying at all, or have flawed study practices. GOOD LUCK .
If you enjoy teaching yourself, this is the class for you. The lectures he gives are so lengthy. So lengthy you never know what to study for so you end up cramming so much information in your brain that you never quite grasp the important details of each chapter. He's a great guy and very funny. Just not quite my learning style. Do not recommend.
This class is hard and you wont pass if you dont keep up with your lab book/homework. I passed 2/5 Exams and slid past with a C. Make sure you are reading the book and focusing on all of the fine details.
These courses are difficult; however Dr. Zdilla does what he can to help his students pass. There is a lot of outside work including online assignments and labs. You HAVE to study, but he will tell you what to focus on. I really enjoyed these classes, and I would recommend to anyone who is willing to put the work into the class.
Though I didn't get A, to me this is my best class so far. Dr Z. is always willing to help and answer any question. I had to put in extra effort to get the B which I'm proud of myself. I will always recommend his class to anyone who want to learn and not just pass the class
Took A&P with Dr. Zdilla last semester. He seems like a caring professor but he acts insecure and petty. Better laugh at his jokes! He talks about things that aren't necessarily inappropriate, but they have no application to the lecture, which makes it weird. For instance, he talked about menstruation of young women in nearly every lecture.
Worst teacher I've ever experienced, I don't know why he has good reviews don't listen to them. Taught myself all semester and barely passed. Offers no help at all and just expects you to know everything. Takes all lecture and lab to lecture his 150 slide powerpoint every chapter. Better know everything or you will not pass, so save yourself.
The worst professor I have ever had. I dont understand how he has any good reviews on here. I reached out for help and put the time in and still struggled. I never fail any class and his class was nearly impossible. Be prepared to teach yourself. I passed 2/5 tests and did all of the homeworks, labs and little quizzes and still ended with a D.
Does not teach just expects you to watch his recorded lectures before class and know everything. Due dates for homework every other day, do not take this class with another science class. The average grade for test will be around 70 because you never know what to focus on before the test. Absolute worst teacher I have ever had
Dr. Zdilla s class was by far the worst class I had ever taken. I am typically an A/B+ student and I ended with a D, %69.94 he said there was nothing he could do to help me get a 70% to pass. Tons of homework/ busy work due every other day that did not help me at all with learning the material. The tests were nearly impossible, not enough time.
Im just waiting for his class to be over so i can ask why is he still allowed to be a professor. His whole style scream power trip. Lots of busy work for barely any credit. You'll be working on an assignment for hours for 3 points. CCAC should be ashamed to keep him on as a professor, feels like they don't care about their students.
I have a 3.95 gpa and have only gotten 1 B through college (the rest A's). This class is so hard and the professor doesn't teach, he just expects you to know. I had to withdrawal so I didn't jeopardize my GPA. Theres homework due every day so if you end up in his class, don't take any other classes with it. He's not clear on what's on tests either
Zdilla is disorganized, and class time is the most unproductive waste of time that could be studying. He isn't very helpful when you email him questions. He repeats the same stories over and over, doesn't know how to engage students, and gets very side-tracked. The homework, and book are good and the subject matter is great.
Be prepared to teach yourself.
I am shocked that he can still "teach" a class. He expects you to just know the material, live streams are 4-6 hours long and cover the slides which were 140+ pages. He sometimes "offers" a study guide, which is a literal joke. A small list of what is needed to study. Tests are populated out of so many hundreds of questions. 10/10.. NO! JUST NO!
Professor Zdilla is awesome. He tells you what to study on the test. Although, the class was four hours long, he made it fun and interesting. I was super nervous to take A&P but having him as a teacher made it a good experience. I took the summer course. There was a lot of homework assignments, but the repetition of the assignments helped me learn.
I liked Mr. Zdilla's class, it was completely online, and he gave plenty of warning via his syllabus about the workload. As long as you make time and set a schedule, you'll pass easily.
Zdilla was a good teacher. He used analogies that helped explain physiological processes that were easier to understand. His tests were hard. Despite the study guides we were given I felt key points were not reiterated as thoroughly as they couldve.I felt i focused the wrong material while studying. do all of your homework it matters in the end.
Homework and Labs made my grade better. Having taken his A&P1 I knew what to expect for A&P2 and loved it. I studied and did all the homework and learned so much from his class. He is a great professor and very knowledgeable. Just be ready to work for your grade and ask questions.
Professor Zdilla was great. If you want to do well prepare to put in extra time in. He wants all his students to do well and teaches A&P very well. He tells funny stories that relate to the lecture and always wants everyone to be positive and think anatomy. He is always available on office hours and gives plenty of homework to help your grade.
Dr. Zdilla was great, very helpful and supportive, available for an insane amount of time outside of class. Your grade in his class is very reliant on his tests as the homework is not very weighted but if you study the material regularly you should be fine.
I have noticed that even though Dr. Z is always available, the time we spend with him seems to be pointless. During his lectures in our lab, he goes off-topic and doesn't elaborate much on what is in the lectures. He will tell us what is supposedly going to be on the test, but only a portion of it shows up on the actual test. DO NOT TAKE!
Don't do it if you have any kind of life. Crap ton of homework for very little points. Uncertain of what's on tests even with his reviews. New info introduced which overlaps studying for previous chapter. Be prepared to sift through very long PowerPoints and lectures that are prerecorded. Be prepared to teach yourself. No curves either. Good luck
I have always gotten straight A's my WHOLE life. This class changed that for me. You basically teach yourself and when you ask him how to study he tells you to read the power points, which were 90+ slides long PER CHAPTER. Each exam is up to 3 chapters, so in order to study you would have to read three chapters of power points and pages in the book
To start, CCAC should be ashamed that this man is even a professor. He expects too much out of his students, and I understand that you might say that Anatomy is a hard class to teach, but one class should never outweigh my 40 hour per week job. If you would like to stress about a class so hard that you dream about it, this class is for you.TERRIBLE
Dr z is by far the best, most hilarious, teacher I have ever had. The class is hard he makes it interesting. He uses off-the-wall ways to remember things he is clear about what is on tests you must study 8 to 12 hours per week for this class. Have fun and ask questions! Forget your high school grades this is college stuff up and study.
Dr. Zdilla is the best professor I've ever had. His class is difficult if you don't put in work. He makes himself abundantly available if you're struggling with a topic. Studying is intense you need to build good habits. It's probably a good idea regardless but delete all your socials. A few hours of studying the night before a test won't cut it.
Took his A&P 1 class twice and had to withdraw twice. Thought he was just difficult because I chose his accelerated 6-week summer class but he was just as difficult in the 16-week class. Came to find out that >half the students from both of my classes also either dropped it or failed as well. I chose a different prof. and now have a B+ in A&P 1.
Dr. Zdilla is a great professor. I enjoyed taking his class. The material itself is challenging but he gives you so many resources to succeed. You have to put the work in and study. He makes himself available to students through office hours and email if you have questions. He is a very fair grader. Overall, he makes his class fun and enjoyable.
Dr.Zdilla is good at teaching. I recommend him.
No. Run.
- Off-topic and long lectures that don't make sense - Snarky/Full of himself - Claims anatomy is easy (it is not) - Makes me question my sanity and intelligence - Random questions on exams that have nothing to do with the lecture material - Homework takes hours and is worth 1-3 points If you value your sanity, DO NOT schedule with him.
So much homework. All bubble tests- some questions are A,B,C,D,E,1,2,3,4,5 possible answers. He doesnt give enough time for his tests and quizzes. You will be rushing and definitely run out of time for nearly every test. He is a hardcore Right Winger and very political. During office hours dont expect much. Felt like i was pulling teeth for help
Do not recommend this professor to anyone. lots of information tests, with around 300 slides plus online book and online homework included in just a 50 question test every couple weeks, plus lab quizzes and practicals. if someone asks about clarifying in class, he looks at them like they're crazy and dumb. have never had a hard time in a class.
Zdilla is a very nice person, but his lectures were too much, your tests were on 3 chapters, and before the tests you'd move on and learn new material for the next exam. Homework was pages long for VERY little points. No study guides and he makes you feel like you're expected to know everything already and if you don't he makes you feel uneducated.
Dr. Zdilla is one of the best professors I have had. His course is very challenging; you have to work for your grade and put in the effort. I would have received a better grade in this course if I had put more time into it. He has a lot of office hours and is always willing to help his students. I have never learned as much as I did in a class.
Many have said he is a horrible professor, but he is very easy to work with and genuinely cares about his students. Yes there is a lot of work and it's difficult but if you want to be good at what you do you have to be disciplined. Just study and take notes when he speaks and you'll be fine. He is very nice and funny and makes sure he's available.
If you actually want to learn, take this class. This is not an easy A. You will have to do your work, participate, and study. That being said, I really enjoyed being in Dr. Z's class and learning from him. His is very passionate about what he does and that makes the material easier to learn. Instructions clear and straight forward from day one.
His tough sometimes can be unrealistic especially when it comes to McGraw Hill homework and Submission. Loved his material and lab but too bulky and overloaded with all kinds of assignments. Can affect other classes if you are a full time student taking 12 credits or more.
Wish I could take him for all my future classes. People said AP was hard; he made us go through it like a breeze. He's not there to fail you. Gives many opportunities to earn extra points, makes learning enjoyable. Made me want to aim for A's instead of barely making it and proved it is more than possible. But of course, you have to do the work.
I loved Anatomy and Physiology 2 with Dr. Z! I will be 100% honest if you want an easy A this is not the class for you,in this class you will have to put the work in to pass! Dr. Z expresses and explains his syllabus thoroughly, both at the beginning of the semester and any time we had major events upcoming. Study go to office hours, you'll pass!
