We had 6 speeches at 5 minutes each except for our intro and impromptu speeches which were 1 minute. Extremely clear feedback, and obviously passionate about the subject. She makes sure everyone is comfortable in her classroom which makes speaking so much easier. Great class, even though I despise public speaking.

Super Easy A. Homework is laid out on Canvas on day 1. Post in online forum, reply to 2 people and write a short 1 page essay. Done in 30 minutes for the entire week. Classes were packed with info, so show up. Was a public speaker before teaching, so lectures aren't boring. She can talk clearly, concisely. Do the homework, show up, easy A.

I was a senior in high school when I took this class. I passed with a 106%. I absolutely loved the class and it inspired me to continue in the communications major.

A professor that cares about her students doing well. Respects opinions of everyone and asks for them during class discussion, which there are many. She is funny and lightens the class with humor. I liked going to her class and I learned a lot of skills I can take with me in the real world. The Service Learning Project was very cool.

She is funny, inspirational and caring. She backs her lectures with class discussions and activities. I enjoyed going to class ! You can tell she loves teaching communication and is passionate about it. Make sure you start the final early it's a class lesson you must teach. She does prepare you with lots of information. Awesome professor!

I've had 2 classes from Professor Tenney. Both were fantastic. I'm signing up for her third class. Public speaking was a great class. The professor makes you feel very comfortable to get out of your comfort zone. I left with a new skill set I can use. It's obvious the professor cares a lot about her students and what she teaches.

Had her class last winter. Interesting subjects each week. I love the way she teaches! You can tell she loves communication. She teaches skills you can use anywhere. Class is very comfortable and friendly. You tend to make friends in class through group projects. I enjoyed coming to this class, which is not the case for all my classes! A+ Class !

Lots of variety each week! FUN Knowledgeable TEACHER! Loved all the class discussions, Cool group project and inspirational lectures. Show up, finish homework, easy A. I just signed up for another of her classes ! A class like no other. You'll LOVE her class!

Prof. Tenney is super nice and loves communications! Her class is a super easy A if you do the work. She offers extra credit in addition to giving really high scores on assignments if you answer all the questions and have a long enough paper. Super easy and surprisingly fun, but be ready to talk to your classmates and give speeches a lot!

I was nervous before class began because I don't like public speaking! But once class started and I met Ms. Tenney , the butterflies left. You do have to speak but it's not that bad and the prof. makes it comfortable for you. She gives you lots of info on how to present and encourages you to relax and just "talk". Class discussions are GREAT!

I DISAGREE with the student below. The prof had a Clear Grading Rubric for speeches. The class was very organized. The syllabus was clear and provided additional info. She was a VERY Fair grader AND gave the class the opportunity to improve one speech with a Re-Do. Most of the people made an A in class. Plus, she's fun, passionate and caring.

I had Tenney for public speaking and I thought it was a great class. She does care that you do well in class. She even stayed after class to help some of us. She loves communication, you can tell. I thought she was a fair grader and friendly to everyone. She even cracks a few jokes now and again. The class environment was very welcoming.

LOVED this class !! Ms. Tenney is very down to earth and friendly. Her class is very imformative. I learned stuff I can take into the real world. Professor Tenney is one of the most friendly profs I've had. She is very understanding and seems like she loves what she does. She is refreshing and wants you to conquer the world!

Her class is very easy to follow. Everything is written out including a rubric for each assignment. She is easy to get along with and funny.I loved her in-class assignments and her lectures were amazing. She really cares about taking the skill set you have learned into the real world. I am already looking into taking another one of her classes!

I have taken 2 classes from prof. Tenney. I love the fact that we get to meet our fellow classmates in group discussions. That is not the case in any of my other classes. Her class is pretty easy if you show up and do your homework. Super simple syllabus, everything's the same requirement each week. Every week you learn something new! She's a Gem

Professor Tenney was one of my favorite teachers at TCC. I enjoyed learning the aspects of communication which I think will be good in my job. She was high energy which kept us all awake. Some of the activities were out of my comfort zone because I don't like Public speaking or group activities. But she made It very comfortable. Great class!!

This was my 1st online class and I was nervous,but, it went well. Prof Tenney has an easy to understand class and has a "Zoom gathering" at beginning of every week to explain assignments and answer Qs. Prof encouraged us to communicate with other classmates for some assignments, which was cool. She answers Canvas email quickly and is understanding

Great professor. Grades a little harsh but if you follow her rubrics to a T youll be okay. Has optional weekly class. And she has many opportunities for extra credit. She also provides great feedback to every assignment. I would take her class again and recommend her!!

Class is easy IF you get your work in on time and do all the assignments. Super chill prof. Down to earth, not pretentious at all and very understanding. Have to say, one of my fav TCC professors ! The stuff we learned I feel I can use anywhere. Got to know my other classmates, which is unusual compared to my other classes. Prof. Tenney is a gem.

Superb organization in this class, which I need. It was easy to follow each weeks assignments and the subjects were interesting. Prof Tenney had a Zoom meeting every week to go over any questions we had about the class or homework. She was fun and I enjoyed the class. I would take another class with Professor Tenney , Great class!!

Probably one of my fav professors. She was very understanding and caring. The class is super easy to understand. Each week is set up the same way and she doesn't over-load you with homework. The class is set up & easy to understand. She gives GREAT feedback on each assignment and how you can do better on future assignments. She held a Zoom gathering each week to answer any questions and talk about why we are learning the current topic. I can tell she loves teaching and cares a lot about her students! Prof Tenney saved my butt! I was having personal issues and she worked with me so that I could still get a good grade. Which means, she had to go back and re grade a lot of my previous homework. She cared, and I appreciated that! She must love teaching because she got quite excited about non-verbals at zoom meetings. LoL Fair prof !

Well, it seems if you dont homework on time, she takes points off. Besides that, I liked her. She has a funny sense of humor. I also liked that she was not pretentious. I have had some professors who thought they were God! Her Zoom meetings were actually fun !! I would probably take another class with her.

A class I had to take. Dont really like comm classes but the prof was friendly and that helps. Class pretty easy, just get work in. Learned some cool things.

Prof. Tenney is a good teacher. I really liked her weekly Zoom meetings. Each week a student got to ask the class a question . It let us feel connected. This was a fully online class.

Great Class! Variety of topics for life. Professor Tenney was excited about each weeks info and seems to love what she teaches, unlike some profs who act like they are bored with class and frustrated with students. Tenney is NOT like that. She was very responsive and would answer emails within a day. I appreciate that being an online class. Class had clear syllabus and each week the same. 1 discussion group question and 1 regular homework (5 questions). She was friendly and answered any question. She had a Zoom meeting each week and she is fun.

My 1st online class! Went well. Tenney was quick to answer questions and I had ALOT. She was good at explaining the process. I liked the discussion boards, nice to communicate with classmates. The topics were really interesting, and she graded easy. If you get the work done, you make an A. Great experience. I would take Tenney again.

This class was super easy to navigate. Tenney was quick to respond to questions and seems very nice, funny too! Assignments were easy, only 2 per wk. Grading was easy, just follow details and due date. I came away actually learning something. So, I'm happy. I would take another class with Tenney.

This class, I really liked. We have a lot of class discussions with cool topics. Tenney felt like one of us. Seemes like a lot of reading, but 1/2 you don't need for homework. Every week was something new. 5 page paper for final, yuck, but not that bad if you start early. I like Tenney and class, 2 thumbs up!

I thought she was a great. I felt very comfortable in her class, a safe place that you could say anything. I learned a lot that I can use in the real world. I actually looked forward to coming to class. Anyway, she's pretty chill and nice and sometimes funny. I recommend taking her class.

We had a class activity (no grade) each week, which was educational and fun. Class laid out well. Grading and class easy, if you complete work on time. I made friends in this class, a first. She has a way of making the class feel like a family. We are all working together on this, kind feeling. One of fav classes for sure.

Class is set up really easy. Same schedule each week. Loved class activities, met some nice students. Prof grades easy and fair. Just need to turn stuff in on time! two assignments a week, with reading maybe 3 hours a week of work. I enjoyed the topics, new each week. Pizza party last day and we are working on final in groups. This was my fav class and professor at the college. She was very chill, loved the class activities. Easy grader, if turned in on time. Caring prof, she will help you succeed. I looked forward to this class, not all are that way. No test or quiz, and fun class each week. I would take any of her classes. Previous student, have fun.

This class was simple to understand. She had every week the same, 2 assignments. There is a final paper, no big deal. easy grader (tougher on final). Loved the in-class activities, fun and met other students, made a few friends. Prof is a great lecturer and funny. Pizza party the last week. Great class, would take prof again.

A no nonsense professor. Funny with her lectures. 6 speeches, but 2 are very easy and that is most of the grading along with self evaluations. She is a fair grader and caring prof always said hello to everyone.The class environment was very friendly.The only advice is read assignment instructions and follow completely and turn in things ON TIME.

Prof explains topics well and does class activities. Only thing, you must turn assignments in on time. She closes postings 4 days after due date, I'm a procrastinator. Otherwise, I liked her and class. She returned my emails within a day, and she graded assignments within 4 days. I am going to enroll in her other class. Two thumbs up!

Never had a class like this, I made so many friends. The silly activities in class bonded us all and helped with understanding the material. Prof is very down to earth, talks normal. She is funny too. Learned stuff I can really use in the real world. I will have to say she is my fav prof so far. Make sure you read directions & turn in on time!

My first fully online class. Class was very well laid out and easy to understand, I appreciated that. Prof replied to emails within 2 days and graded assignments (2 per week) between 2 and 4 days. I liked the topics and the assignment were interesting. Would take her again.

For an online class, Prof Tenney produced modules for easy understanding. Each week we learned something new. but same set up (2 task per week). She was quick to answer questions and cared about including all students in discussions, very welcoming. Up to 4 days for late work (10% deduction per day) which is fair. She gives great feedback and funny

One of the best professors I've taken! Has clear grading criteria, replies fast to any questions, and is accessible outside class. Tries her best to make the class fun, and the homework assignments she gives makes you think and use critical thinking. Taught me some new communication concepts. Would recommend 10/10

This summer class was shorter than most, But,I learned so much I didn't know. Prof Tenney taught with passion for the subject. Refreshing. She replies quickly and greets everyone with a smile. Very welcoming and inclusive with all students. Fun class, not over-whelming. Tip: Work on final early & add word count. Would highly recommend Ms.Tenney.

I really enjoyed this professor. She has interesting no credit in class activities that I will remember for a long time. She is very responsive and gives great feedback. BUT, she closes assignments 4 days AFTER due date. So get work in on time. She was flexible in other areas. Learned many things I can use in the future. Recommended.

What a great experience having her as a professor. She taught my college success course and although I felt like it was more focused towards running start students, that wasn't her fault. She made going to class fun and engaging. She is an awesome professor!

Great online class. Each week made simple, easy to understand. Prof. Tenney was quick to answer any of my questions. I liked that we had interaction with our classmates in discussions and collaboration assignments. She seems to know the class material very well and could explain further to me so I understood. Online small group 230- Super clear lay out of class, which is good. Great topics each week. Even tho online, the class was brought together with some collaboration assignments. I did not feel intimidated with asking questions and Tenney was quick to respond. Would enroll with this prof again.

Summer class, which is shorter, but, I stilled learned a lot. Loved Prof Tenney! Super funny and easy to work with, very laid back. I was surprised how much I learned about communication, didn't realize what all goes on when trying to understand and produce an intended message. Great class and prof!

This summer course was amazing. A skill set I can use in life. Prof. Tenney was attentive, communicative, produced interesting classes, and cared about helping. Prof. Tenney is now my fav at TCC. Every week was something new and fun w/ unique activity to support that topic. My fav things learned: STAR interviewing method, the power of non-verbal, and word choice. Super friendly, said hello to all who entered the class. She cracked me up, funny. I really hate public speaking to the point of wanting to book it out the door if we even have to do personal intros. I showed up early on the first day told dr tenney about my anxiety and she helped me out so i could feel more comfortable. A few more days &I felt so much better speaking in class.class is easy and prof is SUPER cool and funny.

I took College success (Col 101) w/ Prof. Tenney. I thought she was great. Easy to talk to, quick email responses ,was very nice. I learned about many college resources, how to navigation college experience. Clear class set up. FUN activities, Take a seat, meet a friend, was my Fav. I am signing up for another of her classes. I have had 5 professors so far at TCC. I would say Professor Tenney ranks toward the top. She was understanding with me, listened, and helped me out with understanding the material. I would enroll with her again. Her class was interesting also, learned some stuff I can actually use in the real world.

Ms. Tenney is probably one of my best profs I have had so far. Class is set up to understand even for intl students, like me. She was understanding with me and explained after class. She was quick to respond and answer questions. Her classes are full of activities and she is funny. Grading was fair, work was manageable, I will take her again.

This a great professor who isn't a harsh grader. Her lectures are kinda pointless cause we don't do any in class work so not going to the class wouldn't affect your grades unless she's doing an extra credit assignment. sometimes the assignments can be a lot but those type of assignments were rare. I would definitely recommend her for an easy A!

Great class, very organized. Ms.Tenney was very approachable, which was important to me. The class has 2 assignments a week, not bad. I really thought the skills taught were essential. I will remember the GREAT class activities! Which helped better understand the topic & connected the class This was the only class I made good friends.

Tenney's class is a breath of fresh air. I'm not bogged down with extensive homework. She is friendly, helpful, and explains theories in many ways so I understand, which not all teachers do. Only complaint would be she takes 10% off per day for late work. However, it motivated me to get my work in. Would take her again. Fun class activities!!

Im already looking for other Prof. Tenny classes. One of my fav profs so far. Class is set up very easy to understand. She gives very detailed feedback on assignments. Her class activities are engaging. She is quick to respond to my many emails. She helped me when I was having troubles, she cares. Easy "A" class. Prof gets an "A" in my book!

Actually had this prof COL 101 college success. Great teacher! Easy to talk to. This was a mandatory class But learned a lot of new skills. I would take another class of hers.

Great teacher....explains theory well, modules are neat and organized, easy to grasp. She is funny and does many class activities that help explain topics. Lots of interaction among students doing interesting tasks together, helping each other to understand the material. Going to take another of her classes.

I loved Prof. Tenney's class.The assignments are intriguing, the modules are organized, easy to understand, and you can complete things on time. She helped me get out of my comfort zone and engage more, due to her amazing personality. She provides multiple ways of teaching so everyone has a chance to learn, which helped me. Great teacher.

Classes were a little boring, but it was COL 101 (No course option for COL 101 on this stupid site). Barely any assignments and offers a lot of extra credit. She was super nice and funny. Definitely helped with navigating college.

For an online class, Prof. Tenney had quick email return and really great feedback on assignments. I missed one of the extra credits deadlines so I emailed her the assignment and she gave me full points. Seems very nice and sends announcements to the whole class every week to explain the upcoming assignments and what we will learn. I liked her!

I had professor Tenney last fall and had so much fun in her course. She's very straightforward and is understanding. The syllabus was clear and I learned so much in this class. This is a fast paced course, thankfully she is very kind and understanding. She does get back to you on canvas in a timely manner.

COLLEGE 101 Great teacher, hands down—super understanding, helpful lectures, clear grading criteria, and an average amount of work. The only thing is she's very eccentric and encourages participation, I'm a little shy, but she has helped me get out of my shell.

I took the college success class COL 101, Prof. Tenney is very nice and understanding. She grades & answers emails very quickly. The class has a lot of topics to help you with college. I spend appox 3 hrs/wk on this class, not bad. Class well organized. Prof explains well, the concepts and lectures, class has good interaction.

Some teachers' instructions lack enough direction, but this class was very easy to follow, well structured, and clear grading. Every assignment had great feedback! The class topics I could apply to daily life. Some good collaborations. Very quick to answer email. Favorite professor so far.

I took COL 101 with this professor and she was super sweet and accommodating, She didn't require much from anyone and the work was all online. You may need to go in for lectures and extra credit but other than that it is a very easy class and I highly recommend you take Professor Tenney.
