I loved this class. Professor has personality, knows her stuff, and cares about her class. She goes out of her way to make sure you understand it, and gives extra credit on each test. Tests are not extremely difficult. Take good notes, ask questions, you will do fine. I had text anxiety on the final, or I would have gotten an A instead of a B

She allows students to discuss issues instead of dominating the floor. Her tests cover only that which she has assigned for reading and class discussions. She makes the class interesting. I enjoy attending the lectures she tells us about. She wants her students to learn and is very helpful. I recommend her class.

I went to class just about all the time, studied her notes and RARELY used the book. I made A's on all of my exams becasue of extra credit assignments and i was able to exempt the final. She is an awesome teacher and she made a required class really fun. I will definately take another class of hers even if i dont have to.

I love McDaniel, I took her for intro to sociology- and wish that i could take her for everything else. As long as you are interested in the class, then you will do well- but here is a big hint: read the chapters at the end of the semester!!

She is amazing,her classes are powerpoint notes with an open discussion over them as your taking them down. She is extremely nice and on most of her tests we got to use our notes which made students come to class instead of forcing them to by taking it out directly from your grades.

What a great teacher...just read the chapters and look over the notes she gives you. She tries to break things down in the notes that she gives you, that way when you read the chapters it is easier.

McDaniel is a great professor. Attendance isnt mandatory but she gives random extra credit sometimes for the people who are there. Online tests make it alot simpler to pass. I loved this class and even at 8am I still found a way to get out of bed and come! Take her if you want a good experience for Sociology.

She is knowledgeable in the area she teaches. She has great stories related to the subject. While attendance isn't required, it is helpful because some class discussions are on her tests and it is a "have to be there" moment for those questions. She is very laid back, gives extra credit opportunities, and has a great personality!

awesome teacher. keeps the class interesting. everything is online...tests, study guides, outlines. dont have class the day of test. she tells funny stories that correlate with what you're learning and leaves room for discussion among the students. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and would definitely take her again if i had to take another SOCI class.

This class is very easy you have a few tests and a poster you have to make by not present. All the information you need comes from your notes and some what from your book. This class can be kind of a downer especially at 8 am because it is about family violence... Dr. McDaniel does a great job of not making it as depressing as it can be.

Dr. McDaniel is a wonderful professor. Her class is very simple you do some readings from the book and have some discussions on them, watch a film and respond, write a paper about yourself, and your final is a group diversity paper.

She cares about what she is teaching. You can tell by her lectures. She is available outside of class. All you have to do is schedule time. While there is class assignments, the majority of grade is on two papers and a presentation. So, be prepared.

The class was a 2nd session during the summer, so things went by quickly. Be prepared to do read a lot. Quizzes come from reading and understanding the reading. There is class discussion. She makes the class time enjoyable. The topics are current and be ready to watch a few movies. Excellent class.

Dr. McDaniel is my all time favorite Professor. I've taken several of her classes. She has a teaching style that connects with her students greatly. She is one of the most caring Professors you will find anywhere and UNG is lucky to have her. I absolutely love her. I highly recommend her to every student who is able to take any of her classes.

Lots of readings with open book quizzes, films, and two papers. Be prepared for discussions about readings; the more you discuss the more exciting the class becomes. The readings are super interesting and Dr. McDaniel has done a great job of pairing them with the films. Organized class, papers arent difficult because topic is so interesting.

Most of the class is sitting and listening to her interactive lectures. We watched lots of videos and read a few passages in the textbook. She is not great at responding to emails or grading things quickly, so if you have a question, ask her in person. Easy A if you show up and participate a little. Take her if you can!

Such a sweet professor! Lecture heavy but she keeps it interesting. There's only a few tests and writing assignments with flexible due dates and plenty of time to complete. She does take attendance occasionally but I feel like I was able to skip a few times if I didn't feel like going to class.

She does give long lectures, but she makes it interesting. You don't have hw every week. I think like 3 tests overall with 2 assignments on 2 different movies. I recommend her and this class.

The course consists of reading articles and watching movies during class. There are quizzes over the articles, and 2 papers in which you connect concepts from a movie to an article. Dr. McDaniel covered a wide variety of issues regarding sex and society, and is very passionate about what she teaches.

Easy class and interesting lectures. Class is mostly discussion based and exams are all online with no proctoring. Final exam is NOT cumulative and online as well. 4 exams total with one easy online assignment based on a movie we watch in class. 100% recommend her for any sociology class you may have to take at UNG.
