great teacher, very helpful. take his class
AWESOME TEACHER!!!
speaks to fast, very unclear, jumps around way too much, difficult to take notes from..... probably shouldn't be teaching
He has a problem controlling the tone of his voice, tends to ramble, incoherant at times. With that said, I would still reccomend taking him because he is funny and if you sit in front he will entertain you with his antics. Dont mention the "Voyages of Discovery"...he will talk you to death.
Frassetto is a nutball! He tends to talk really fast and soft and then just WHAM! Gets REALLY loud. It is humorous to sit in his class. Jumps around constantly, but he sends out an email of all the terms he covers that week, which is helpful. History is boring, Fressetto makes it tolerable.
Never fails to put me to sleep. The loud talking at times didnt help one bit. If you dont want to go to class, make sure you read and understand the textbook fully. He teaches right from it. Helpful and nice teacher though.
Follow shis passion and has volume issues but overall nice guy. Class attendence is unnecessary but be prepared for tough grading. TA influences tough grading also
This man grades papers like he is going to the chair and his students were members of the jury.
Very boring lectures; never failed to put me to sleep. Exams were graded pretty fuggin harsh for a 101 level class, and his lectures were incoherent and out of order. Hard to pay attention and keep efficient notes.
he does tend to ramble, and definitely a tough grader - but id still recommend him. he makes the class more interesting with his strange humor and he is one of the few teachers that does more then his paycheck demands.
Do not take this class. He will write a name on the board and then start rambling on about his daughter like somebody gives a shiit. Shouldn't be teaching. Three exams, no multiple choice or true/false.. all short answer and essays which are graded extremely tough. Unless you are satisfied with a C or worse in a 101 class, do not take Frassetto.
yeah he is a little crazy, funny but jumps around in his lecture, but he gives u study guides for the exam and it has all the possible terms and essay questions on it. So unless you are lazy and do not study that, there is no reason not to do well. if u go to class and sit in the front it did play a part in my final grade. Take him!!
youll either really like this guy or he will just get on your nerves. jumpy lecture doesnt follow his own outline but he is incredibly approachable and very helpful and welcomes distractions and questions to his lectures. a lot like an AP high school history class, just more difficult than usual.
Interesting guy. A li'l trouble with volume management, but he's lively and easy enough to listen to. He's a bit tough on proper grammar and spelling, esp on turned-in essays. Medium-tough grader. Lectures are worth going to, but Wikipedia is great -- especially since he sends out study guides a week before the exams.
GREAT Teacher, very lively and funny, one of the only teachers that made me WANT to go to every class. Very knowledgeable, gives out study guides before exams. Tough on papers, but always willing to help you out if necessary. Very interesting, very rarely far off topic (rambling about daughters? never happened) Would definately take again.
He is a very interesting character, funny at times, exams are essay but aren't graded too badly, gives out study guides before every test, a few essays and they are graded hard but still managed to get a B
nice guy, bad teacher, rambles on, tests consist of two essays and around 71 terms that u have to define and memorize, more like a 300 level class then a 100 level. Even if u love history class is still hard
Tends to ramble and speak too quickly, but he's funny and entertaining. Lectures are interesting, but Wikipedia and the companion site to the textbook are great. Gives study guides. Exams are essay, but I still managed a B. Worth taking.
A great professor--I learned a whole lot, and he made the subject matter interesting. This was my favorite class all semester, and I'm not even a history major! I found this to be an easy A, too, as long as I did the study guide and looked over my notes. No sweat! And a really good professor. It doesn't get any better!
Take this class. History more often than none can be very dry and he was able to keep my attention the entire class. He's very loud, funny, and pretty much all over the place - very VERY energetic. Because he lectures attendance is mandatory. Tests weren't to bad,he gives study guides before each one. Take his class, he makes it very enjoyable.
Hes a nice enough guy but not a very good teacher, he is all over the place so its impossible to take good notes, he speaks way to broadly and then wants specifics on test day. would not recommend taking him
He makes the class interesting and is very helpful. Three tests and one paper. Overall, a nice person and makes the material interesting. Can go off topic but not too bad
He's the sweetest guy. Difficult to follow because he's so energetic but he's so helpful outside class. Because he's so sweet and fun coming to class isn't bad at all. Really approachable and down to earth.
LOVE Frassetto. He's a really nice guy, genuinely cares about his students doing well. I never had a problem following his lectures, even though he does always seem like he's on a caffeine trip. His tests were difficult, though, because there were two essays and 4 IDs in 50 minutes. It was just too much information to get down.
GREAT professor! He made class very interesting and fun. He's always super hyper and always drinking coffee, but you can't help but love him. Exams were pretty easy once you study, grading was really lenient as well! You don't need the text, taking notes in class is all you'll need, so go to class! (Really go to class, you miss a lot in one day.)
Guy is hilarious. Hard class but he makes it worthwhile to go to class.
Amazing teacher. He really cares about what he teaches and it shows in his attitude and style. He even took the time during a summer session to learn everyones name and talk to you. Really enjoyed him and his class.
really nice guy but grades way harder than I thought. I thought I aced my 1st exam but got a C+ on it. Each exams is 4 ID terms and 2 full essays which he wants as much detail as possible and doesnt give out the questions prior. So you have 50 mins to think up two full blown essays plus write them w/ detail. Also drinks coffee too much and is wired
I did not like this class or this professor. I was expecting an easy multicultural requirement, however this class is quite the opposite. Thought I killed the first essay, but I got a low C. He grades way too hard and takes this class way too seriously. I don't recommend it at all.
Frassetto is the man!! One of the funniest and chillest professors i've ever had. His class consists of a midterm, a final and a paper - good class to take if you have a big general course load bc readings are not all absolutely necessary but they are worthwhile. He is always willing to help and his class is very enjoyable..take him!!
a great professor if you like someone with a lot of energy... he grades fairly hard, i studied a lot for his exams but got C's. what saved me was the paper. he wants wayy to much information for the 2 essays you have to write for the exams. i found it physically impossible to write enough for him to give me a good grade even though i pretty much knew everything.
This guy is all over the place. His lectures are extremely annoying, as he rambles on about meaningless facts with energy that a new born puppy wouldnt even have, and makes it nearly impossible to listen and follow the lecture. He gives incredibly hard and detailed essay questions, which you cannot find any information for in the textbook
He is all over the place! While his lectures are entertaining, they do not help at all in studying for the tests, which are impossible. He asks for a ridiculous amount of information in the essays on the test and no amount of information seems to be adequate. I took this class as an elective thinking it would be easy, but was clearly wrong.
Pretty easy class, not that hard of a grader. He is all over the place and hyper, but I really enjoyed that class and he makes the information interesting.
Not an easy A. Very energetic, but as other reviews have said, hes all over the place. You REALLY need to pay attention and copy down what hes saying in order to do well on the exams because he requires a lot of substance in his exams, which are ALL essays.
After reading some of the comments I had to come to the rescue. This prof is GREAT. His energy/personality are sorely needed in a survey class like HIST104. Yes there is a lot of info in lecture and in the book but they go together. And HE WILL HELP YOU;just ask! The nature of a course like 104 will deal you a ridic amt of material..don't be lazy.
This is all about personal preference, but he is all over the place. He flies through material, and then expects the students to know the whole of Hebrew, Indian, Mesopotamian, Egyptian and Chinese History, by the first exam. He isn't bad, really, but his style isnt for everyone. If you like your teachers over-caffinated, this is your guy.
Professor is EXTREMELY hyper and over the top. He flies through material in a very hyper and annoying way. It is often difficult to pay attention to his lectures because he is so spastic. He needs medication asap
Professor is great! Let me just say I HATED history before this class and he really kept me interested in the material. The tests are a lot of writing and involves a lot of work but his study guides sent through email are awesome and he wants to help in any way possible. He is super hyper and entertaining and deserves a good rate!
Love him! He's so funny and hyper, and makes everything really easy. Test are simple, just definitions and two short essays. Just take really good notes and you'll be fine. Love him so much <3
Really nice guy but pretty scatterbrained. Doesn't use slideshows and if he does its just pictures. You basically just have to guess what's important and write it down. Only 3 test though and he gives study guides.
Great guy, good sense of humor. Just take really good notes and the class will be simple. Only three exams, and one paper. Attendance is not mandatory, but going to class will make everything much easier.
This guy is entertaining but very hard to follow. I ended up NEVER going to class and just googling/wikipedia-ing all of the things on the study guides and got A's on all the tests. There's a book review on one of like three or four books which is super easy. Overall an easy class if you're willing to spend time googling.
He has a crazy amount of energy which can at times make his lectures a bit chaotic but he's a great professor. He knows his stuff, he teaches it well and he's perfectly happy to help you with course material or essays or really anything at any time. Definitely take one of his classes.
He is definitely an interesting teacher. He is very enthusiastic teacher with ALOT of energy. However, I feel like the grading is inconsistent because on the essay questions on the exams, i would have no red marks other than compliments but would get minus 8points. The grading is very different. Take notes on a computer because he speaks very fast
He is such a funny guy and you want to like him but he's all over the place. BRING YOUR COMPUTER! It's hard enough trying to keep up with him. He makes the information as interesting as he can and his tests are fair and he gives a study guide. Go to the TA if you're confused because she explained things so much more clear.
Really enthusiastic and excited about the subject. Has a ton of energy. Class is relatively easy, just a paper and a few exams. He speaks fast so you may miss something but he is more than willing to help. If you're ever unsure about a grade or topic he helps a lot if you just ask.
This class bores me to tears. However, he is a good enthusiastic teacher who really loves the subject matter. His grading makes absolutely no sense to me at all. The people I have talked to, as well as myself, have struggled getting anything above a C in this class. My friend took it with another teacher and their tests were a lot easier.
Prof Frassetto was great! I was always pretty indifferent about History, but I loved his class. He understood when I couldn't make it to class. He was always available for extra help. His lectures were interesting, he talked with us rather than to us. Highly recommend his class. Great guy & great prof.
Very energetic professor! Makes material interesting. Readings are a little annoying but hey, it’s a history course. Definitely recommend him! My favorite professor at UD and he inspired me to become a history major so I thank him.
Nice, entertaining guy, but for a 100-level class it's challenging. The textbook is completely useless and he doesn't do any Powerpoints or notes. You cannot afford to miss this class and he grades very harshly. Still worth taking as long as you take it with a friend or have someone you can compare notes with. Exams come entirely from his lectures.
Entertaining and laid back guy, but VERY tough grader. DO NOT take this class if you want an easy breadth requirement. I was expecting a GPA booster and what I got was stress and anger.
He is one of the best History professors at UD!! He loves to teach and his lectures are fast paced but he keeps your attention. I was always in office hours and he answers every question! I can't wait to take more classes with him!!
Frassetto has A LOT of energy and passion for history. You have to attend lectures because all of his tests come from his notes. Three tests and one paper each worth 25% each. Not too hard of a grader. Gives study guides. Have to definitely study for the exams- they are essay format. If you put the time in, definitely and attainable A.
The class is fairly straight forward. There are 3 exams and a book review and most of the exam comes from stuff covered during lectures. I met with him and his TA once this semester and they were both helpful. There isn't any homework and he doesn't take attendance but you should still come to class if you want to do well.
Attendance isn't mandatory but definitely go since his three tests are essay tests and everything comes from his lectures. Tests are hard because there's only so much time to write everything. Really interesting guy, easy to understand. Kind of a tough grader but the one essay can pull your grade up if you just write something pretty good.
He's hysterical, the lectures are never boring. We didn't really have a textbooks so if you didn't go to lecture you failed. Lots of reading quizzes and all the tests were essays, but he let you pick the questions you wanted to answer.
Professor Frassetto is a hilarious character. I was nervous to take his course at first, but it became easy. For HIST103 you have three exams, and one paper on a book choice given from three options. All easy. Didn't go to class often, he provided a study guide and as long as you knew the terms etc. you'd pass. Essay exams. Would take again
The heart he puts into his work is nothing short of inspirational. have been moments in lectures that are so heart felt that i have seen students cry in middle of his speeches. Every lecture fun and entertaining, and he is smart and passionate. Everyone clapped n cried on the last day of class. True role model. down to earth. incredible experience
I love Prof Frassetto. He is always all over the place, running up and down aisles, screaming, but he's just really enthusiastic and it makes the class so much more interesting. He gives a study guide and if you know it you'll do fine on the test. Attendance definitely isn't mandatory, even for doing well, but he looks out for the people he knows.
Extremely down to earth, funny, smart, and passionate. Honestly the best teacher i have ever had. Makes the class very entertaining, while being knowledgeable. tests are essays and graded strictly. other than that, class was an amazing experience. he is a true role model and it was an incredible experience. cant say enough good stuff about him!
ok frassetto is the best person ever. he's the cutest lecturer & he always makes me laugh. his lectures are like a performance. honestly told him the first day of class that i hate history and now we're bffs. please take him, you won't regret it. the class was not fun but he is so take it. :)))))))) must go to class but tbh you're gonna want to.
This is my favorite professor at Delaware so far. He is such an energetic and caring professor who clearly loves history. His enthusiasm comes through in each of his lectures and he is sure to make you laugh. When I looked for classes for the upcoming semester, I made sure to take another with him. The tests are straight-forward as well.
Prof. Frassetto is a firecracker. He loves teaching and is knowledgeable about history (Christian history for this class). The class was always enjoyable and he liked to involve students. Gives clear study guides for tests. My only issues come in his grading. Sometimes I feel as if it is arbitrary and idk how to improve sometimes.
Great guy. He tries his best to make a boring subject interesting in his lectures. My only complaints were he doesn't use any website for his class and he grades the essays on exams too harshly. He does send out a study guide before them however.
My second class with Frassetto! He is hilarious and enthusiastic during his lectures. He can be a tough grader and this course in particular had 6 pop quizzes. He also notices when you are in class. Professor Frassetto cares about students and accessible out of class. You have to work for your grade, but he is worth it. Prof. Frassetto is great!
Had Prof. Frassetto for Christian history, and he clearly knows his stuff. At times the lecture was difficult to follow. He doesnt use any website, which made things a little disorganized at times. Be sure to do the readings for the pop quizzes and pay attention to the study guide and you'll do fine.
Professor Frassetto is a great teacher. He loves the material so his lectures are very animated. Usually, he does not get through all the syllabus outlines (meaning the last couple weeks of content planned isn't taught). He is a fair grader and his tests are pretty easy as long as you use the study guide. 10/10 would recommend.
Dr. Frassetto is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is hilarious. I hate history and I find his lectures extremely entertaining. He is very clear about his grading policies and if you take good notes in class you will never need to open the textbook. He is also very knowledgeable about history. Take his class if you have the chance to.
It's not an easy breadth class. I got an 86 on all assignments even thought I have feel I have a great understanding of the material. They are extremely specific with what they want you to write. I hate the fact that they just give you a word and you have to explain it. I wish I didn't take this class, not hard he just grades too harshly.
He lectures without slides and just talks, so it's a bit hard to keep up with him, but he's generous with his office hours. I thought the tests were pretty hard and required quite a bit of studying. The content is boring but he makes it interesting, he is an awesome lecturer.
I enjoyed history with him, except the powerpoints used in class are solely pictures. He talks super fast, but is hilarious and keeps the class engaged in somewhat boring material. Posts study guides for every exam (3 including the final) and tells you exactly what you should know. Don't skip class because exams are based solely on lectures.
I really enjoyed Mr. Frassetto. Considering I am a history buff, his class was extremely interesting to me. His lectures typically consist of power point slides that are typically only pictures, so taking your own notes is a must, but he never makes the class boring and is always excitedly talking about each new concept. A real down to earth guy
This professor is awesome! He makes history a lot more interesting. The class is laid back and there is not a lot of work. All we were graded on was three exams and a 4-5 page book review. Attendance is not technically required but he does not post his slides online so you need to go to class regularly to pass. As long as you study you will pass.
Professor Frassetto is so energetic & enthusiastic about what he teaches, it really makes lectures fun. He does assign pretty lengthy readings though, but his quizzes on these readings are actually not bad. Attendance was recorded some days, not everyday. He does not post lecture slides, but everything is based off his lectures.
One of my favorite professors I've ever had. He is hilarious and obviously is interested in the subject he teaches. There are three exams and a paper but if you have a good enough grade he excuses you from the last exam. The only complaint I would have is that he sometimes grades erratically but overall exams are easy to pass if you attend class.
Frassetto is one of my favorite teachers. He loves to make corny jokes but definitely still knows his stuff. The exams are difficult (only 3 exams and a paper for grades) but definitely do-able if you study hard and read. I am a history major so I found this class to be awesome. Definitely is flexible with assignments and cares about the students.
Prof. Frassetto is a really good teacher and person. He is funny and keeps the lectures entertaining. Sometimes, his lectures are hard to follow but if you go to class and review your notes, you will do well in the class.
nice, funny guy!! makes lectures very interesting. no need to buy the book if you go to class. no slides, just him talking so you have to be able to take good notes on your own. tests are some identifications and essays, not bad if you studied and have a good memory. it was usually hard for me to finish in 50 mins tho.
He knows his stuff, is entertaining, and keeps class interesting. With that being said he (and the TA) are the hardest graders you will have for a history course. The three tests require a lot of studying to do well, and the paper prompt is unclear. Overall, if you want a structured clear course where you can earn the grade you deserve stay away.
Really knows his stuff and makes his 50 minute lectures interesting and funny. All of his lectures were on course capture so no need to go to all of the lectures. 3 tests with essays and people/event descriptions and 1 paper make up basically all of the grade but easy to do well on if you study a lot. Love this man
He stutters so much and speaks so fast that you either don't understand him or get so frustrated by his voice. He is constantly speaking during his lectures. The only break you get is when he drinks his coffee to make himself even more hyper. His tests are hard and require a lot of studying. A lot of memorization for tests. Only tests and essay.
class was really simple and straightforwards and his lectures were fun. But he expects too much in essays and exams and grades them way to harshly for a 300 level class. got As on all quizes and assignments but he would rip everyone apart in exams. thought I deserved an B in the class but he gave me a C-. Not worth its take another HIST300.
Frassetto's lectures are fun and engaging. He can sometimes ramble and go off on tangents but always finds his way back to the point. Lectures cannot be missed as you're tested on whatever material he covers in class (no slides either). His study guides do a good job preparing you and he's always willing to answer questions about any part of class.
THE WORST CLASS IVE TAKEN AT UD. DO NOT TAKE IT UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO OR YOU ENJOY WORLD HISTORY. THIS IS NOT AN "EASY A" BREADTH. EXAMS ARE IMPOSSIBLE AND HE'S A VERY TOUGH GRADER.
His lectures were really interesting and he had a lot of dad jokes that made hour long lectures more enjoyable. He is a tough grader and the class revolved around three essay-like open ended tests and a book review essay. It was a good class, but if you don't like history, this might not be the class for you.
Frass is the best. I have taken 5 classes with him (gotten an A in every one) and he never gets old. His lectures are amazingif you like bad Dad jokesand he is basically a walking encyclopedia of historical knowledge (and good music). Attendance isn't mandatory but tests are lecture heavy: show up, listen, take notes, and laugh at jokes.
He touches upon so many things way too quickly. His ADHD doesn't help either when you're trying to learn or take notes during lectures. He speaks too loud or too softly and gets easily distracted. I'm there for breadth satisfaction. If you give your 90% in class and get a "D" grade, something's wrong. Your grades and future shouldn't depend on that
Really really lecture heavy. Take notes on literally everything he says and study the study guide he gives out. He's a fun guy and pretty easy going but there are only 3 open ended tests and a book review paper that you're graded on. He makes the history interesting but you can probably find an easier breadth class to take instead of this.
A little tough, but if you pay attention you will do well. He gives a study guide for exams and there are 6 short quizzes. This is my second time taking his class. Great Professor.
Honestly this professor grades fine, its the TA that gives people low scores on exams when she grades them because he grades half and she grades the other half
As far as history classes go, it was not a surprise or an issue that all the grades are essay question quizzes. The only issue was that you REALLY need to pay attention to his lectures, but he has no words on his powerpoint slides and tended to ramble so he was hard to follow. If you're not an auditory learner you might have a hard time!!
I'm going to be honest he's a really funny guy, but if you don't go to class and write down every word, he says ever you will fail. He is the harshest grader I have ever come across in my years of schooling. If you like history this is probably a class for you, but this really sucked as a BREADTH requirement.
If you want an easy breadth or honors course don't take this course. The lectures provide no value as they are simply pictures with no words. You are graded on 5 quizzes 2 exams and a final paper. He is a nice guy but the way he teaches isn't appropriate for many.
Every exam was completely short answer so you legit have to write down everything he says in the lectures. He also grades really harshly. Maybe it's just the TA, but the grades I was getting made no sense to me. On top of that you have to do a book review and read a boring book, which was torture. Class in general was really boring and terrible
His lectures are... yes... just pictures on slides, making attendance pretty much mandatory. He's a really funny guy, had a lot of chuckles watching his lectures. This is definitely not an "easy breadth." Take this class if you're genuinely interested in the topic, and are ready to write, read, and listen.
Professor Frassetto is a good professor and a nice guy. His class is extremely lecture heavy but they can be very interesting. He's energetic to say the least but seems to stay on track for the most part. Exams aren't hard at all and he's a fair grader. The paper at the end of the semester was probably the hardest thing and it wasn't that bad.
Professor Frassettos lectures were always very engaging and I personally found his sense of humor a welcome part of lectures during my first class of the day. He is clearly passionate about what he is teaching and despite not having the best slides to show information, he will say everything that you need to know so just be ready to take notes!
He is very passionate about his lectures and is a great professor. He gives quizzes based on reading, so reading is a must. Exams use blue books so he is very old-fashioned. Take great notes and read the assigned reading and you'll succeed.
I do not enjoy history, but Dr. Frassetto made it as enjoyable as possible! His lectures feel like he is telling a story which makes it easy to follow along. Take notes and take advantage of the study guides he provides before exams. No homework besides one essay which is nice but make sure you prioritize studying, then you will be fine on exams.
Attendance isn't required but go anyway! Notes are posted but are mostly photos, so you need class for context. I love history, but this class is great even if you don't. 4 grades total, 3 tests and a book report. Tests are writing but easy if you review. He's a really fun/engaging speaker! If you sit in the front, class feels like a conversation
Frassetto is a really nice person, he is funny and quirky but his writing exams are very tedious. I also wasn't a fan of his lecture style of putting a picture on the slides and talking about various topics, it made it hard to pay attention. In my class, some characters wouldn't shut up and he did little to stop them which was annoying. Not bad tho
The GOAT! Loved him! Very good lecturer and very intelligent on the topics. The only thing I would say is that his slides don't contain any text on them so pay attention. Also there are only 4 grades in the entire class, the 2 midterms, an essay and the final, meaning that it's very test heavy.
Mr. Frassetto posts absolutely 0 notes or slides, and is very high energy in lecture, making it a little difficult to pay attention and take effective notes. He is sort of funny and is generally knowledgeable, so it wasn't the worst thing in the world. Exams are very writing heavy with not enough time book report isn't so bad if you work diligently
Great professor. Lectures were good and the tests were easy if you paid attention.
Dr. Frassetto is a highly knowledgeable and energetic professor. Although his lectures can be fast-paced at times, he is always willing to slow down if you ask. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you should go if you want to do well on the exams. The exams are a LOT. All written and essay questions, and can be challenging due to the time constraints.
Great, passionate professor who cares about his students and will go above and beyond to help them. I wish I could take another one of his classes next semester but his classes fill up quickly. He can be a tough grader, but it's worth it for the energy and inspiration he brings to the lectures.
Professor Frassetto's HIST103 class has its challenges, but his engaging lectures and helpful study resources make it worthwhile. The exams require detailed note-taking, but Unstuck AI's summary tools can streamline the prep process.
Very disorganized. Communicates as if he has hyper ADHD. Very old and reminds me of Biden. He is an easy A but you will have to listen to an old man yap for hours.
TAKE HIS CLASSES, he is an amazing professor, really engaging lecturer and knows so much about his classes. You can tell he really cares, his test are easy and he isn't a hard grader. Hes so funny and just a great guy. I messed up the exam times and acidentally came late, he still let me take it during his office hours. He's there to help you out!
