Mr. Oliver is awesome! He started out shy but came right out o fhis shell once he got to know the class. He also likes to give you credit for anything he can give you credit for. He is definately interested in his students grades. Take him for lab!!!

Awesome instructor. Very helpful and is interested in everyone getting the best grade possible. He is very fair and will help you as much as he can and doesn't give you trick questions, unlike other instructors.

Mr. Oliver was shy at first, it was his first semester teaching. But after a few weeks he got to know everyone and came around. He is funny and willing to help you anytime.

He was a little shy and nervous but he got more comfortable as teh semester went on. He is funny and nice. He will help you with anything you need help on!

At first I was waiting for him to call Buehler, Buehler...but after a couple times in the class I figured out he just has a dry sense of humor that I found hilarious. He is helpful and is always there to answer questions without talking down to you.

For a summer class, he makes it not bad. I love that he can laugh at himself and realizes many of us are there to graduate, a gen ed. His downfall is that reads from his slides, word for word. He's like a Robert Redford, hot!

I second the hilarious dry sense of humor. Very nice, helpful, and wants you to do well. Realizes the subject is difficult and does what he can to make tests easier, but studying is still important to do well. I'd recommend him for sure.

I found this class pretty easy to get through. Read the chapter study the notes. You have to work hard for the A and a B is very doable.

Good teacher. Not exactly my favorite subject but he will help you get through it. Tries to make tests as easy as possible. Lectures are a little dry. Study end of the chapter summary and questions. I would recommend him.

Biology is by far my worst subject. It doesn't matter how hard I work to understand, I never can. He puts on the test what was on the lab quiz. It might just be me, this this class was hard. He changes words around on the tests and says "well, it sounded like the other one, so you should have been able to figure it out." He is always there to help.

I absolutely loved this class because of the teacher. Mr. Oliver has this dry sense of humor and just makes it great. He really cares that you pass and will help make it understandable material for people who aren't majoring in Biology. Highly recommend this teacher!!!

I had him for lab in bio 145 and 146 and he was awesome! Funny, nice, and actually cares about helping you pass the class. He makes things easier and he is easy on the grading so you can get a better grade if he likes you and thinks you can do well. I highly recommend him!

BIO145 was difficult, not going to lie there, but taking it with Mr. Oliver made things a lot more enjoyable. He has a very open door policy, always willing to answer questions. If you take his 8am class, be prepared for him to be a bit monotone (he's not a morning person), but he's still great & has a sense of humor! Taking him for BIO146, too!

Mr. Oliver is a wonderful professor. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. He was never pretentious or arrogant. Mr. Oliver had a keen sense of logic yet could easily describe abstract schools of thought. I considered him to be a great professor and a mentor in life.

I loved having Mr. Oliver this summer,one of my favorite ICC teachers yet! I thought the material was pretty tough but he always made sure to go out of his way to help you understand it,informed us of his office hours each week if we needed extra help and he had a good sense of humor which made the class go by faster. Would definitely recommend. :)

i think he is the easiest anatomy teacher. this is hard class for sure. but mr.olive keeps everything easy and clear, even though he repeated the same things again and again, which is also good if you really hear. those things he repeated usually will be on tests. I like this teacher except the super monotone. make sure you have enough caffeine

Had him for Lab, not lecture. Very dry person to listen to, but otherwise, a really good Anatomy teacher. I learned more in his class than I did from my lecturer during that semester. Teaches it like it is, and does not teach irrelevant information. Very amiable man who honestly cares about your success.

A must take instructor!! He is genuinely concerned about his student's success, and will go out of his way to help you succeed in the class! But, you have to do your part and attend class and study!

The Bad: Monotone! The Good: He is an awesome teacher that really wants his students to pass! If you want an A, be prepared to study many MANY hours outside of class. Not an easy subject, but he will go out of his way to help you. Very approachable! There is homework, but it counts for very little of overall grade. Highly recommend!

Caring teacher. Always willing to spend extra time individually. Demonstrates tough ideas well. Since the biology ideas are so fascinating, the monotone is not a hinderance. You won't regret taking Mr. Oliver.

He is a bit monotone but has a deep voice that you want to listen to. Really does want you to do well! Honestly go to his office and he will go over EVERYTHING with you.

HOT!!!! But also soooo helpful. He will go out of his way to help you understand material. He is willing to explain things several times so you understand them. NEVER makes you feel stupid. Every class gives you your current grade which is AWESOME! I would recommend him to anyone. Great office hours and no problem spending them with his students!

Awesome Teacher! He is very helpful and wants you to pass your class. Kind of monotone but makes the class interesting. He will do all he can to help you pass this class. If he was teaching Biology 146 next semester I would take him for sure I would deffinately recommend him over all the other professors that teach this class

He replies very quickly. He always tries to help and wants you to pass the class. The homework and quiz are good, not very much but helpful! Take his class!!!

He is a wonderful teacher and the best teacher I have had in the three years of attending ICC. I would highly recommend him. He is always available to answer any of your questions and really cares about his students. He has regular office hours and is also there at other times which was super great.

Fairly easy teacher and always available to help if you want help!! He is very monotone, however, and his class often made me want to fall asleep. Quizzes are easy points because he tells you exactly what to memorize.

Very Helpful! I would def. recommend. He is ALWAYS there to help! Down side, he is a little monotone and reads off of slides, but his helpfulness makes up for it!

Mr. Oliver and the SI leaders are very helpful! He puts up study guides for his exams early and does not want to see you fail.

I apsolutely loved him! Anyone who has something bad to say about him did not do well in the course. He is so willing to help and wants everyone to succeed. His jokes are so bad that it's entertaining. HIGHLY RECCOMEND

Mr.Oliver is def there for his students. I wanted to drop this class b/c I was taking it in 8wks. BUT he would not let me he knew how mad I was about my first test and knew that I would push through. He has been so helpful with any and all questions. He is boring to listen to BUT his SI leader has been a GOD SEND and really knows her stuff.

Mike is a great guy and very knowledgeable teacher. He is always helpful and available and genuinely cares about the success of his students. If he has any faults, it would be that his lecture delivery is rather monotonous and can be boring, but he's aware of this and is trying to improve. He makes up for it in many other ways. Great teacher!

One of the best teachers at ICC! He really wants his students to do well, and does whatever he can to help. I emailed him numerous times, and he is always prompt. Also his office hours are awesome, and he is always willing to make appointments to fit your schedule. This is a tough class, so don't think you're just going to be handed a good grade!

Professor Oliver is the best teacher I've had in years. He made an extremely difficult subject come alive. Not only was I able to grasp difficult concepts but with him as a teacher it was actually really fun learning.

Mr. Oliver was the funniest and most pleasant biology teacher's at ICC. The class is tough but he is a very thorough professor and will spend extra time explaining concepts or ANY questions that you might have. He was so fun and helpful I got an A in the class

Mr. Oliver goal is to succeed students in his class. He is very patient to help student to give clear explanation until students completely understand his lecture. Mr. Oliver is by far my favorite teacher at ICC. He does a great job explaining difficult concepts and I always walked away feeling like I will do great. He gives awesome printouts of his notes, and they are basically all you need to pass. Just study study study those notes.

The best thing about Professor Oliver is that he doesn't "play games" or try to trick you out of a grade. He tells you what you will need to study, and if you really study it, then you're golden. He has a dry sense of humor, which is entertaining if you're not already asleep. Class is kindof a snoozefest.

Mr. Oliver lets you know he is available for any questions you have if you need to go to his office, although I never did. He tries really hard, but he repeats words and mumbles during lectures. I never used my book, just studied the PowerPoints and handouts and received an A. Very good looking so I didn't mind sitting through the boring lectures.

There is no midterm and the final was kind of tough. He teaches exactly what is on the power point and in the text book. His teaching style is somewhat dry. I found it more beneficial to use my time during his lectures to study on my own with the materials he had given us. It is possible to get an A in his class, but he will make you work for it.

Mr. Oliver gives good lectures and plenty of extra credit options. I started the class with a low C but now have a high B. That is because he gives clear instruction, and if you pay attention when reviewing for an exam and during lecture you know what to study for the exam.

He's an overall great teacher and is always there when you need him!

Mr. Oliver is a very easy going and intelligent professor who is there to help you learn the material rather than just lecture it to you. He attempts to be as hands on as possible and create test questions that are designed to test your knowledge rather than trick you or pull the rug out from under your studying. Micheal is a very caring professor. He is there for you for any questions at any time. He has dry humor and a monotone voice, but those are his only bad qualities. His classes consist of powerpoint notes and quizzes. Although, there are quizzes only halfway through the semester. Attendance is mandatory, but if you miss a few days that's okay.

Professor Ollie is one of the best I've had at icc! Yes his voice is more monotone but he's super funny and makes up for it. He gives clear instructions on what will be on test and what you should study for. Let's you do the mastering homework for extra credit which really helps since the material is hard it would be a mistake to not take him!!!!!!

This class isn't difficult if you put the work into it. Studying matters, don't miss if you can help it sometimes gives extra credit for showing up. Do the homework it's long and worth few points but they add up.

The book is necessary and I recommend doing the learnsmart assignments he assigns. Theyre only worth 1 point, but helpful on tests!

I had much anxiety when it came to taking bio111, but professor Oliver made it much easier to understand than I expected. He is great at simplifying the material so it is easier to understand and helping those who need it move on to higher level classes. Expect plenty of dry humor, show up to class and print the PowerPoint.

He's an awesome teacher to take and wants you to succeed. anything bolded or underlined in his powerpoints is word for word what is on his tests and quizes. He is so awkward its funny and makes lectures funny too. I begged him to teacher 205 and 206 so I could have him again.

Mr. Oliver is one of the best I have ever taken a class from. A&P is tough enough, but he really cares about his students and is very happy to answer questions or stay after class if needed. He was clear about what you needed to study and pay attention to in order to help you out for a test. If you study and put in effort you will pass this class.

I took Bio 111 as a mini semester. He was very talkative and gave you the information you needed. He didn't teach to the test but, he tried his best to help you out. I would highly recommend taking his class!

I had him for lab and he was pretty good! It seemed more lecture than lab at times, but as a result, we all did better because we focused on what we were going to be tested over. He does kinda talk and talk, but in a good way though. He is also very willing and happy to help you whenever you need it. Overall, a very solid choice, I recommend!

Professor Oliver is a good guy. He answer questions Outside the office hours most of the times as laste at 11pm or as early as 4am and he is answering questions at 430am,which i truly appreciated.

I took an online class in Summer. He is an excellent teacher and he is very kind. He does everything to make sure students succeed in the course. He draws and explains the lessons well. The exams and quizzes are based on his powerpoints, videos, and what he talks about. Highly recommend him to everyone.

I had his class for a hybrid online lecture and in-person lab. Very nice and always answers questions. He ended up lecturing a lot in lab, but that's a positive imo because it was helpful. Study, do your homework, show up to class and you'll pass.

Loved this class! Oliver was awesome, he truly wants everyone to do well. He is always providing ways to earn extra points and lectures helped me retain information easily. There was one homework & quiz due online every week along with prelabs and in-class quizzes, all to help earn extra points. I loved his teaching style and wish he taught 205!!

Total Godsend! He reached out to me to give me extensions, and when asked to he gave them no questions asked, even the night before. So caring and an easy grader. He really looks out for you. Available by email 24/7 and responds very fast. If I would've actually studied I would've got an A, easily with him.

Oliver clearly cares about his students and helping them pass. He's more lenient than other professors without sacrificing educational value. As long as you read through the slides and do the homework (which doesn't take long), you'll do pretty well.

If you struggle with bio he is the perfect professor. He gives you every chance to help you and cares about his students. He answers emails so fast.

Great teacher! onlu struggled with the class cause i am not very good at test nor bio. Grades will mainly be based off tests and quizzes, use the notes the answers are there! Got offered several opportunities towards the end to help our grades. Truly wants the best for his students. I would say that everyone in the class enjoyed having him.
