It's the second time I have him as a prof, and he's the best. His classes are really fast-paced, and you have little time to spare sharpening your pencil, so I recommend using a pen. He's very knowledgable, explains extremely well and is really interesting.

What a genious. His notes are structured perfectly and everything flows from macrostructure to microstructure. He was available all the time after class, at his office, and especially through email. A very dedicated, knowledgeable, and funny professor. Cavit-ay!

By far the BEST teacher I've had at Ottawa U! He know his stuff, and then some! You can ask him any question regarding anatomy, physiology, pathology, imunology, etc... and he knows the answer. (Not a lot of profs have knowlledge beyond their reaseach interest or what's in you course textbook) AMAZING TEACHER!!! :D

Best teacher! He's really clear when he explains. Only study the power points. Extra details in the book are useless. Start studying right away since there's so much so learn. Most interesting class ever to attend!!

Great prof, tough exams. Be sure to study in advance because there really is way too much to learn a few days prior to the exams. Oh and if he says "dernière chose" or anything of that sort, that only means its the last thing that's currently on his mind. It absolutely does not mean last thing to know on the slide, or last thing for the class.

I had him for ANP1505 and ANP1506 and Desilet is the best anatomy prof you can have. He knows everything about the human body. I loved going to his classes, he had my attention the whole time. He explains very clearly and tells you what is going to be on the exams. 2 midterms and one final with multiple choices. You have to study a lot to do good!!

Best professor at U of Ottawa. He is funny, somehow makes an anatomy class interesting. The exams are hard if you don't study, but if you study and pay attention to the wording of his multiple choice, you can easily get a good grade. You should really go because he gives hints of questions that could be on exam.

Mister Desilets is an incredible teacher. He truly makes anatomy fun. During lectures, he will tell you what parts will be on the midterms or final exam. You absolutely need to study for his exams. This is an anatomy class after all, and studying prior to the exams is a must !

Ok so I'm not a by heart person so this class was a challenge for me. But it is CLEAR what is expected of you. Everything is multiple choice question, which is tricky at times but better than having to memorize every word. You get what you studied for. MUST study ahead if you want a good grade. This class is needy lol

Le prof est clair dans ses explications et rend le cours intéressant, il a bon sens d'humour. Les examens (choix multiples) ne sont pas difficiles mais plutôt très précis. Étudie chaque mots dans ses PowerPoint et tu peux avoir une note excellente. Aussi, il répond aux questions posés sur blackboard rapidement. Je le recommande.

Class material is heavy, but not impossible to learn even if it seems overwhelming at first. You have to study to get good grades. Attending class is very helpful. He gives good tips to study and explains things thoroughly. He is funny and makes class very interesting. However, he likes to talk and rushes at the end to present all the material.

One of my fave profs. His explanations clear, & tries his best to make ANP fun. His expectations are 100% clear, as he tells you every slide he wants you to learn & gives useful practice tests. Don't get me wrong, it's a tough class. If you put the time and effort to learn everything by heart, you'll get an A+. Recommended!(if you have to take ANP)

Amazing prof. Made anatomy even more enjoyable than it already is. PP's are very organized and detailed but take notes on the answers to the added questions. Hilarious and enthusiastic as well as extremely knowledgeable. Fair grader and exams reflect the material 100% so basically memorize the PP's and you'll do great.

Best anatomy prof out there! Gives you all the notes/info necessary to get a good grade in his class. Topic is really interesting! ALL MC questions on exams which makes the class that much better.

The lectures were very well organized, the material was presented clearly and the main concepts were emphasized. The exams covered the material we have discussed in class so there were no surprises on the tests. However, the group assignment was a nightmare.

This is an overall good prof. His class is hard but I think if would have been even harder without this teacher. He is really nice and his power points are well organized. The class itself is pretty hard though.

Very good lectures and notes, but I found his exams very hard because of the way they were worded, even if they were all multiple choice. Very nice guy as well. Make sure you go to class and know small details and you'll do well.

Knows the material very well so he has a great ability to explain it during lectures. Attending class will really help you in this case even if all the information is in the notes because the material is complex and his questions are very specific on exams.

Awesome teacher but his exams are tough. GO TO CLASS !! He gives examples of exam questions and they are usually in the actual exam. Down side is that you have to do Virtual Labs that take way too much time and are worth like 2%. He's always super nice and happy to answer any questions you may have. I strongly recommend this teacher.

He is by far my favourite prof as he is very passionate about his work. Is often available to meet after class. Exams are hard and very detailed but the teacher makes the class as fun as he can. Love his sense of humour.

One of the good teachers, clearly loves to teach. He's trying really hard to make sure everyone has a great time in class. He's criteria are clear, you know what to expect in the exams. Frequently, he'll tell you the exact questions in the exams. The textbook is mandatory, however, I would recommend you to buy it 'cause he often refers to the book.

Des trois profs que j'ai eu pour ANP1505, M. Désilets est le meilleur de loin! Ses slides sont complètes, sauf pour des encadrés avec des questions auxquelles il répond en cours (elles sont à l'exam donc ne manque pas!) Les exams sont des QCM très (TRÈS) précis donc étudie bien la matière (bcp de par coeur) Manuel utile si tes notes sont incomplète

He's a really good prof, BUT, this course is honestly something you can teach yourself. If you're not a morning person and you have morning classes, I strongly recommend you stay home and study and you'll do just as good as those who actually showed up...

Dr. Désilets is really a great teacher, he is passionate about what he teaches and he's really funny! You have to learn LOTS of informations so prepare your brain. Also, the course has too much content for the time we have. The prof explained the respiratory system in 30 minutes and expected us to know everything. Let's say that it's impossible.

Anatomy is hard regardless! Dr Désilet really wants his students to succeed and he explains concepts in many different ways. You do however need to make good reviews and use te book to understands. Exams are quite hard, so know your stuff!

Great prof! He answers emails very quickly, and is clear on what he wants you to know for the exams. He is very passionate with what he's teaching and even incorporated virtual anatomy labs into the course, which was beneficial to our grades.

He is a gem of a teacher. Gives out clear powerpoints with everything you need to know for the class. If you're bad at learning by heart I still recommend this teacher because there are no suprises in the exams. He's adorable and makes a lot of funny jokes in class. Beware of one thing and that is that he tends to talk alot about random stuff.

He's very passionate about his subject, which makes it even more interesting. It's important to go to class even if it isn't mandatory because he adds a lot of important stuff to his notes that usually come back on the exam, as well as his red box questions (questions he puts on the powerpoint but only gives out the answers in class). Great prof.

Like I never attend class cause all his notes are on his powerpoint but he does have questions on some slides that he only answers in class and could be on the exam so I suggest to go to class. Desilets is an amazing prof. He really takes the time to explain each concept and his exam questions are fair. He eliminates questions that weren't well done on the exams which is great. Plus, there were 2 bonus questions on the final exam, the possibility of getting an extra 2 percent with the labs and a 1 % bonus for going to the Miroir Magique.

The course itself isnt that hard but has a lot of info to know for MT and final. Only one MT and final both MC. Good idea to go to class since the explanations really help to understand which helps you memorize later. Ive had him as a prof for 3 classes now and he's definitely one of my fav uOttawa profs, no surprises on exams.

Would 100% recommend. But, ANP1505 is a really hard class and the midterms are really hard. Make sure you study every little detail.

This prof is interesting and teaches very well, the content of the class is just really hard. He screenshares his powerpoints during Zoom lectures and makes fun examples to help understand. Average for the midterm for my class was 64% though... Make sure to study hard.

THE BEST. Really cares about his students and the subject matter. Explanations are amazing but the material is heavy and hard. His voice is a little monotone but he's still very good. You really need to keep up with the course and review if you want to get a good grade. Tests are a little on the harder side. Overall the an amazing prof.

The average for the midterms were about 65% and 70%, but I studied his powerpoints and got an 100% on each exam. His exams are very honest and representative of the material on the powerpoints; there are absolutely NO SURPRISES. A+

Dr. Desilets really knows what he's talking about. His powerpoints are quite long and he rambles but he is super funny. Zoom calls aren't necessary because all the info is on the slides. He pretty much just reads what's on them. If you study well you'll do good. His exams have tricky questions so you need to understand the material.

Awesome prof and passionate about anatomy, take him if you can. Very knowledgeable and links what we learn to medical cases which is interesting. His exams reflect what we learn on his slides, but its a bonus if you have the Marieb textbook. Memorization and visualisation are key to understanding because his questions are extremely specific.

The exams were all multiple choice, open book, unproctored and covered only the stuff on his slides/lecture notes, which were always posted. Most people stopped showing up to the lectures and would just study the slides. If you study the slides then the exams are free.

This prof is so passionate about anatomy, which makes the course so interesting. Stay up to date and study frequently to get a good grade. The exams are based on the slides he put online, so a lot of memorization. Other than that, great course!

Very organized professor who knows what he expects from his students. All of the answers to his tests can be found in the slides, and are explained clearly in class. He likes to test students based on little details in the slides, so make sure you know your stuff heading in to his exams. The exams are non-cumulative, which makes studying easier.

There is a lot to memorize for his exams which are all multiple choice and open book. All of the answers can be found in his lecture notes but he tends to ask about the little details so be sure to know your material. Most of the questions are like "Which of the following is true/false?" so you can't not study and expect to get a good grade.

He teaches hard classes but he is a great professor, even though he is a tough grader. Attending the classes is definitely important to keep up but he makes the lectures go by fast. Definitely recommend this prof!

Great teacher and is super passionate about what he teaches. He covers a large amount of material in his course (which all needs to be memorized) but if you attend lectures and study often, you should do fine.

Loved this prof so much! We switched to a different prof for the final sections and I genuinely would've preferred this prof teaching it to us. He was very understanding about the midterm results and decided to count the best grade as 32% of your grade and your worst for 20%. Seriously don't know how I would've made it through it without him

Dr. Desilets is crazy passionate about physiology, and it comes across in his animated and engaging teaching style. We fell behind in his section of the course, but he wasn't willing to compromise his lecture style to make up time. He's a bit old-school, but he sets you up well to succeed if you put the work in.

Great professor, he is very passionate about what he teaches and does a great job at explaining it. However, the material is very heavy and his exams are quite difficult, so get ready to study hard.

I love this professor due to his fun teaching style, yet he has the tendency of going on long tangents before realizing he's out of time, thus flying over the last 30 slides out of 42. My class was incredibly late in the material for both midterms and the final (he had to remove entire chapters). If you study the PowerPoints, you'll be fine.

Very passionate, an expert in his field and an overall nice professor. However, he goes on a lot of tangents without noticing time flying by. Took his class 2 times and we were behind for both. Had to watch many videos outside of class to catch up on the material. Even though all the exams are multiple choice, they are extremely hard.

This professor is passionate about the material, though the course involves a lot of content to memorize. Attend lectures, study the slides, and use tools like Unstuckstudy to prepare - you'll do well.

Took multiple classes from this teacher (ANP 1505, PHS 3700). He is very passionate about medicine and what he teaches. He always has a smile and good attitude. Be careful though, his exams are very specific and hard. You will need to study his powerpoint and know them by heart. His exams test your reading skills more than your comprehension.

Though I certainly enjoyed the class, I did find that Dr. Desilets was quite unorganized, which led to us being behind on many things. However, we were not penalized for this, leading to all three of the exams (2 midterms, 1 final) containing less information than was planned. Learn from the mistake of many and do NOT buy the textbook.

Classes are content heavy but he is such a nice and funny prof. He enjoys detailing his slides well so we didn't finish all of the chapters. When questions on exams were unsuccessful, he would put them as bonus questions. Really great prof for such a content heavy course.

Great lecturer, goes on tangents sometimes but they're fun to listen to, anything not covered in class is not on the test. He is extremely passionate about what he teaches. His quizzes have 2 attempts and are very similar to the type of questions you would find on the test (also gives many formative quizzes). Doesn't mean you don't have to study.

Michel is my idol. That man has been around forever and really mastered how to teach this course. If you like A&P and are passionate about it. These will be the best lectures ever because he goes so deep (sometimes too much). The exams are pretty tough and can trip you up a little bit but he is always there to help and overall a super sweet guy.

The best teacher ever!

Literally the GOAT. He is super knowledgeable about the subject to the point where sometimes he runs out of time because he adds so much detail about one thing. He is a very fair grader and the tests are very similar to the quizzes. Such a nice guy too, omg love him 10/10.
