Study guides are helpful. She explains the lesson well.
Great Teacher, will work hard to help you do well
She's awesome.
Her outfits are interesting but she is an awesoem teacher.

She's a great teacher. If you do the homework and the study guides, you will do well in her class.
She explains the lessons well. I would definately recommend her.
very easy a if you just do your work
her class is pretty easy if you just do the simple work...she always is willing to help before tests too...goes beyond what most of my teachers do with her study guides and square dancing xtra credit.

I think she teaches waaaaaay to fast. It's hard to pay attention when i'm trying to write so fast. She's good about giving you practice tests and it's really not hard to do good in that class.
Very easy. Just keep up with the assignments, don't miss class unless you have to and you will have an easy A.
She is VERY easy. None of the grades are weighted at all. It is "pure points." It is very easy to have an A at the end and not take her 50 point final. Highly reccommend!!!
She ROCKS! Kinda out there at times though haha...Go square dancing!
Great teacher, very clear and makes it easy to understand! Group quizes, square dancing extra credit, and the answer manuel for homework makes getting an A easy if you want one! You just have to do the homework!
This coarse was really easy for me, it wouldn't matter if she was the teacher or not. Easy to get Extra Credit, but looks like a chipmunk.
Dr. Mallenby is such a sweet lady. I suck at math sooo much, and I have an A for once! Plus, square dancing isn't so bad. ;)
weird, very weird. odd dresser with an irritating voice...way too fast, but her worksheets are easy...irritated me so much in class that i wanted to walk out
I suck at Math, but this class was so easy that I didn't even have to take the final. Plus she maybe be a little odd, but still a very sweet lady!!
She is pretty boring to listen to and hard to here but if u do the homework and do her review sheet for the test you are almost gauranteed an A or B. Lots of Bonus Points!
GET THIS TEACHER! She's easy, nice, and very good at her job. Two thumbs up.
such a sweet lady. very motherly to all her students. beautiful red hair and always has a matching hairpiece for her outfit. just really sweet, really nice.
Whether you succeed in math or not, get Mallenby. She's a nice lady, she's very thorough, very just and an all around great teacher. I always struggled with calc but she gave me hope.
She always has office hours, and will meet with you on your scheduled time if you need it. There is always extra credit so if you do poorly on tests you will still pass the class with homework, quizes, and extra credit. Just make sure you do the work.
homework answers are given to you and the "group quiz" after the day's lesson both really boost up your grade. SQUARE DANCING for extra credit so you DONT HAVE TO TAKE THE FINAL. awesome sweet lady, who is a little soft-spoken but easy, and understandable.
Went very fast, when asked to slow down she would tell students to catch up while she erased the board. Homework was easy but some of the material on the tests wasnt covered in class. GO Squardancing for EASY extra credit.
Such a sweet lady! The first math class that I didn't want to pull my hair out in! Go Square dancing...easy extra credit and in a morbid way.. kinda fun!
Definitely goes very fast, but is a very nice lady. Not too difficult, just do the HW, Quizzes involve talking with those around you, and Tests. The only thing disliked was how there was a Quiz everyday, so basically you can never miss a class or you lost points. Take her - overall easy.
She is a very nice lady and it is hard to get anything but an A unless you just dont do anything. She gives extra credit for going square dancing which really helps you out and makes it so you dont have to take the final if you've done everything else.Tests are easy if you go over the pracitce test
she goes a little fast but the material is not hard if you pay attention. she is very nice and helpful. the exams are not hard b/c she gives you a practice one before the exam that just has different numbers, same problems!
Good teacher to take if you are not good in math because she makes math understandable. She gives practice tests beforehand that are very similar to the real test. The square dancing is fun, it is for extra credit for the class! Her outfits are really fun!
She moves extremely fast to the point where all you have time to do is take notes but other than that she makes the material comprehendable. Take it...you will not regret it...
Easiest math class ever if you took calc in high school. It is just a repeat of high school calc in the simpliest form. Take her if you have to take math. Little harder for people that haven't had calc but you can just ask the people around you. It takes longer to shower than to do the homework. A must for all students.
So Easy. Honestly, I don't know how you could struggle in this class unless you just don't go. She practically gives you the exam when you gives out the practice exam. Lectures move at a steady pace, but she presents the material in very easy way to understand. Plus you don't need to buy the book!!Take her.She is the best I have found for math
She is not a very hard teacher. You will get an A if you show up to class and complete your homework. You have a quiz at the end of each class and can use your notes and check with the people next to you. the only way to get an A due to the quizes and the fact that there is no book she writes everything on the board. tests arent to hard.
This class is soo easy. I fell asleep quite a few times, and I sit in the front row!!
Although I think Dr. Mallenby is overrated, it is NO question that her Applied Math class is EASY! If you do not get an A, there is something wrong. The only downside is you must show up to class every day. She gives "group" quizes at the end which actually just means free points. She is soft spoken which can get a little annoying.
Very easy class. Do your homework and show up for daily quizzes and you should be able to get an A. Practice tests handed out before exams are very similar to the test so they are a great study guide. She isnt the best at lecture, but covers most of what you need to know. She has some pretty wild clothing styles!

Mallenby is hilarious. She always has the craziest get ups and wild bows. Besides her unique wardrobe, she is a really nice person. She is so intellegent however that she does not explain the subject well. Easy to pass, hard to get an A unless you are gifted at Math. Daily homework, 7 tests, final (1/3 of grade), quizes every day! but group quizes!
She is a great woman..she is very nice and so cute she always has a fun outfit on everyday. The homework and quizzes are so easy! We get to work together on the quizzes and you can choose the amount of points its worth. Her tests can be hard only if you don't study the practice exams.
She is a nice teacher, she makes the material simple. Sometimes she rushes through class. There are quizzes at the end of each class, but they are easy and a good way to boost number of points and your grade. You don't need the textbook.
She's a really good teacher, seems fast and difficult at first but you get used to it. There are daily quizzes but you get to work with other people. The tests aren't bad at all. Overall she is a really nice lady and it isn't hard to get an A in the class.
easiest class in the WORLD!! you have a quiz at the end of every class and you can use all of your neighbors so you always get 100 and the test are just like the practice tests that she gives you. And you do not have to buy a book. She gives out alot of extra credit and the final is 50 points and optional I did not have to take and got an A
She's eccentric and fun - always cracking quiet jokes at the front of the room. The class moves extremely fast and there are several quizzes each class. However the quizzes are group quizzes and can be worked on by several people. Tests are not too difficult if you study - she gives out practice tests. Stick with the homework and you'll be fine
TAKE THIS CLASS. it is easy, and she will make sure you are prepared for the final. do your homework and go to class and you are guarenteed an A, it is an easy class without even trying excellent teacher
Sweet teacher. Really easy to pass...pretty easy to get an A. just go to class...cant mess up unless you are a total idiot. take her, its worth it.
Pretty easy prof. Group quizzes and homework account for a decent portion of the grade. Some tests harder than others, provides practice tests. Decent workload, maybe 1-2 hours of hw per class. Pretty easy for a calc 1 teacher, doesn't stand out, but then again no 245 prof does as far as I know. Pretty easy B+ or higher for anyone who works
Easy. You do have to sign in if you are late. Quizzes at end of each class covering material of that day. Get to use notes and people around you. HW is online along with the answers. The tests are basically the same as the practice tests, just different numbers.
amazing teacher. will go out of her way to help you! makes math (which is a foreign language to me) something i can not only understand, but use. take her! you won't regret it.
One of the better Calc teachers. She does go very fast, but as long as you show up for class and pay attention you will do fine. The in-class quizzes at the end of each class are over the notes you take the same day. Usually they are not hard and you get to work/check answers with your friends. Id like to reiterate that she is a great teacher!!!
She's not a bad teacher, but she can be very unclear in many ways. It doesn't help that the textbook is poorly written and quite vague.
The grade you get is exactly what you put into the class. This class isn't hard or easy. Just do the homework, learn the material and take the exams. There are many chances to raise your grade with bonus points. She's been teaching for a long time and it shows in how well structured her class is.
Dr. Mallenby is a great professor. She makes the material easy to understand, even for someone like me who is bad at math. Her lectures are always clear and she is super nice and helpful. She doesn't use a textbook; instead there are daily assignments with the answers posted online. These are a nice grade-booster. She also always wears fun outfits!
Good teacher. She talks and writes pretty fast and doesn't really slow down if you ask her but after a few classes you will get used to it. Gives a quiz everyday that is a great opportunity for easy points (you work on it with your classmates). Tests aren't too bad and the final is optional based on your grade.
Her classes are designed for you to do well. Homework due everyday and in class quizzes that must be worked on with others helps you accumulate a lot of points easily. She does write and talk incredibly fast, but if you get the notes down you can always look over them later.
So I read the reviews about her on this website before I took her class and thought it would be easy. Im in Calc 1 with her, and although she gives you the answers to the hw's, its the hardest class ive taken at Creighton. She does not slow down while doing problems, so students are extremely confused.THIS CLASS IS DECIEVING DO NOT TAKE EVER
Mallenby is overall a pretty bad teacher. She doesn't like to help her students because she seems very interested in just finishing the lesson and quizzing you on it. She doesn't ask if there are any questions and she likes marking points off. IF you have her: check your other options for teachers.
She is the cutest woman ever! her class is super easy and she gives you everything you need to do good. you have a practice exam online for every test and the actual test is exactly like it. Easy A.
REVIEWS ARE VERY DECEIVING. she goes very fast and unless you have taken calculus before her then you will be lost. daily quizzes are easy though because she lets you compare answers with everyone else. I will not be taking her ever again. Best part of the classes were the crazy outfits she wears every class.
If you have taken calculus before, easy A. If you haven't, you should still do very, very well! Prof. Mallenby gives you all the information that you need to do well in her class. Tests are very easy and the format is just like the practice test! As long as you do the put in a little effort and do the homework you will do great!
I have had Mallenby for Math 141 && Math 201. Easiest teacher ever. Must go to class & do homework. Group quizzes daily.
Easy! group quizzes everyday, which means attendance is a must. tests are easy because there are review sheets online before. i would recommend this class. she is incredibly helpful as well and really does care about her job. take this class!
Unless you had Calculus before taking her class you'll be fine. She goes over course work very fast, so not to miss anything go to class regularly. If you don't understand something, go in and see her,and if you can't meet her during her office hours, she will arrange for another time. Complete all classwork on time. A DIFFCULT TEACHER!!!!
I had her for both MTH 141 and 201. You really need to go to every class for the daily quiz but you get to take it with a group. She goes quick, but will help you with anything if you just ask. If you go to class, there is no way you will get lower than a B.
Great teacher, the class is really easy, just pay attention. The homework is easy. Tests are easy, just remember the material.
It was amazing. Mallenby is one of the sweetest teachers there is at Creighton!
She is a very easy teacher. Shes has quizzes almost everyday but they are open book and open class. Her review sheets are basically the same as the tests but shorter. However, if you ask questions shes not very good at explaining it. just do the homework and you will get an A.
Piece of cake class. She moves through the material fast and doesn't always clarify, but let's face it, she doesn't need to, it's easy and theres always an online practice test with the answers so you will be prepared. Easy material, super sweet lady. Show up to class, do the homework and you're golden. She basically throws you points at you.
Very easy! Quizzes almost everyday in class but they are open note and you can work together so they're easy points. She posts test reviews online and they're very similar to the actual test. She does check homework but all the answers are in the back of the book. Very easy A and very nice professor!
She moves very fast. If you do not like fast paced teachers then do not choose her. However, if you show up to class, do your homework, take the quizzes (they are all group quizzes), and do well on the tests, there is no reason for you not to get an A. Personally, I liked her because of all the ridiculously outdated out fits she wore.
If you don't like fast-paced teachers or haven't picked up a geometry book since the 10th grade, DO NOT take this teacher. If you finished off with pre-calc in high school, trust me, it will be much better to go ahead and take calc since it's the next most logical step.
I had to take this class for my accelerated degree program. She moves very fast and this class covers a wide variety of math. She was very helpful and always willing to help you prior to class or set up a time. Lots of quizes but you can check them with a group prior to turning them in and she put practice tests on line. Had to work for an A.
You will have to do the homework if you want an A, besides that, she collects homework for a grade. She teaches at a fairly fast pace, and quizzes you on the material afterword. I would not say her class is too bad. For the hard-working student, this class should not be too hard, and you should walk away with an A. For the lazy student, a B- or C+
Easy to get an A if you do homework.
Class isn't a walk in the park but is easy enough. In-class quizzes you can use your book, notes, and classmates. Tests every chapter so you don't have to remember as much. Definitely recommend her for this class.
I LOVE DR. MALLENBY! I would recommend her to anyone taking Applied Math. Math is not my strong suite and I really needed to get an A on my final so she made special offices hours before the final exam to help me review. She is not that hard and will help a student whenever you need her! Plus she wears the best outfits ever! Take Michel Mallenby!
Their is homework due and in class quizzes everyday, super annoying having to go to aneasy class everyday. Its a very straightforward class. The quizzes are with others and normally an automatic 100 percent. Normally the practice tests online are exactly the same as the actual test. Nice lady, annoying class.
Class gets harder as the semester goes on. You have daily homework and quizzes, which are annoying, but help out your grade. We ended up having around 1700 points. She moves very fast and speaks soft, so sit towards the front of the classroom. Has practice tests online, which are super helpful.
Easy homework due every class, group quizzes every class. Easy 100 in both of those categories. Do the practice test before each test and you'll get an A. Final is a little more challenging, but still not difficult. If you stay on top of the work each class there's not a whole lot of work to do. Definitely recommend
This class is a joke if you took calc in high school and need to conquer the measly CoBa math core. If you're a stranger to calc an A is still very feasible. Do the homework, go to class and take the practice tests.
Class is pretty easy if you do the homework. Either way, the homework comes with answers (you just have to turn it in; no late work). Her lectures are boring if you've already taken Calculus before. Otherwise, she is a really nice professor willing to help if you ask.
Dr. Mallenby is a really good teacher and a very kind lady. I am in no way a "math person" but due to her good instruction she made the class very easy. There is homework every day and all the answers are online, so if you do the homework you will do good on tests. She goes really fast but you will get used to it. No textbook either! An A is 90%!
Professor Mallenby is one of the best professors in the math department! She moves very fast in her lectures and is sometimes tough to follow, but will readily go over any topic you ask for help with. She gives a quiz every class so you cannot skip. Tests are easy, homework takes no effort, and it is a fairly easy class for most.
This class was interesting and Professor Mallenby made the material easy to understand. Her lectures were short but to the point. Homework was given daily, but it wasn't too bad as during class she showed examples of similar problems. Some exams were take home. Attendance is mandatory, you're only allowed two absences.
This class was very easy. Professor Mallenby isn't necessarily a "fun" professor, but she does her job very well. Her teaching style is very good, she uses lots of examples. It is a very easy, low work class, and there is no reason to get a low grade.
After reading these reviews, I decided to take Mallenby. huge mistake. Talks very quietly, is unclear about homework, quizzes, and papers. You never really know what's going to be on the exam as she does not tell you. I asked her for help one time and she talked to me like I was a child.
I would definitely take Mallenby again if I could! She was super clear in her lectures and her tests were super easy if you did the practice tests and the homework. Don't just sit in class without taking notes. She loves what she does and genuinely cares about her students. Loved having her as a professor and I definitely recommend her!
super easy and helpful teacher
Overall, she is a great teacher. She is very sweet and helpful. However, she moves FAST when explaining material. Her tests are easy.
I had the misfortune of taking Dr. Koffi for calculus last semester, and the difference between that awful, sad excuse for a math teacher and Dr. Mallenby is like night and day. Dr. Mallenby is probably one of the nicest people I've ever met! Not only is she a good teacher, but she is very understanding and knows all of her students.
Dr. Mallenby is amazing. No required textbook - all the assignments are uploaded online to print out - and she explains the material clearly. If you do and understand the study guide you will do well on the test. You have to do the homework and show up to class, as she has quizzes every class, but it's a very easy and engaging class.
Dr. Mallenby is a great lady. If you get to know her she tells a lot of really cool stories, but a lot of people don't get to know her it seems like because she's pretty quiet. The class moves pretty quick so as long as you go and take notes you should be fine. Also, make sure you do well on quizzes and homework, they're the majority the grade.
BEST Calculus teacher ever! Mallenby made it easy to understand and was so sweet to everyone. There's homework every class but is worth a lot of points and is graded off completion, it's a great cushion for tests. Quizzes almost every class but you are allowed to use your notes and other people in class. Would highly recommend her!
Mallenby really makes it easy to understand Calculus, bar none. It really filled the gaps up for me from when I struggled in Calc in high school. Highly recommend. She does go a little fast, and be ready for pop quizzes (that aren't hard at all), but other than that, she's amazing.
Worst professor I've had in college. Got an "A" in the class and have already taken calculus in high school, but she even confused me at times while she was teaching. Quiz everyday and you cannot make them up for any reason. Averaged like 99% on tests and got a 92 in the class for missing 3 or 4 days. Very unreasonable and passive aggressive.
Dr. Mallenby is one of the better math professors at Creighton. There are quizzes every class period, but she lets you use your notes. The tests aren't too bad as long as you've been paying attention. If you've taken calc before this class is incredibly easy, but if not you may struggle more. She's very nice and will help you if you ask.
I would not have passed math without Mallenby. She cares so much for her students and is willing to help all the time. You have homework every day but she gives you the answers. She also makes study guides for the tests that help so much. DO THEM. As long as you are willing to put in a lot of easy work, you WILL pass.
If you don't go to class you will have no idea what's going on because there is no textbook. Also quizzes at the end of every class over the material you just learned that add up to be a substantial portion of your grade. Overall a pretty easy class and good teacher. Would recommend.
I failed every calc test I took in high school but I got high A's on all of Mallenby's tests, and if I could do it, so can you. You just need to go to class because there's no book and she gives quizzes everyday. They're easy quizzes though because they're on what she just taught and you can talk to classmates.
Homework daily, and you need to go to class, because the class is all based off the lectures. Great teacher, goes fast, but covers all the topics in an easy-to-understand matter.
GREAT PROFESSOR! If you really want to learn you should take this class. She keeps by the syllabus. If you are bad at math then consider a tutor because she doesn't wait for anyone. Overall she is the best teacher you can have for math.
Dr. Mallenby is a fantastic teacher. She is super organized, sticks to the syllabus, and she grades very fairly. She moves through content quickly, so attending class and paying attention is essential. Points are not weighted, so exam scores count the same amount as homework in determining your final grade.
Mallenby truly cares about her students. she has been there for me through a lot of things that happened during the semester that caused me to drop her class for an incomplete and told me that she is available to me at any time for any help in math, although she wasn't my professor. if you ask for help, she is happy to help you.
Easiest and best choice for 201. If you excelled in math in high school, this should be a piece of cake. Homework daily, but it's not too bad. Quizzes are all open-class so they're easy to get 100% on. Each chapter has a test but if you go to class, do the homework, and look at the review problems she gives, they aren't very difficult.
Best choice for 201 at Creighton. Math department in my opinion at Creighton sucks, but she is your easiest choice for this class by far. VERY TEST HEAVY (7-8 tests). Participation mandatory with a pop quiz after each class (not impossible). I personally was not a fan of her, but others were. Will get an A if you study and do homework.
Mallenby is probably one of the better math professors at Creighton. She is a very caring professor and wants you to succeed. She takes notes very very quickly but will stop to help if you need it. Homework is due every class, there's a pop quiz every class and tests are about every other week. Go to class and you should be fine.
Dr. Mallenby is one of the best math professors in the department. Every class has a quiz at the end that is open note/open neighbor, but can't be made up. Homework is all or nothing. There is also a test at the end of every chapter. The class has so many points that extra credit doesn't help and the final is written by a different professor.
Dr. Mallenby speaks quickly and quietly so you will need to pay attention. She is always willing to help you outside of class (a little difficult to get questions answered well in class). Quiz every day, homework every day, and a test every few weeks. Do the homework until you understand material and you will get an A. Explains what is on tests.
For Math 141, we are required to buy the textbook that the professors wrote. The book is just wrong, Its literally wrong information. In terms of tests, the study guides are literally over different material than the tests. This class is not intended to be difficult, but the teachers make it so. Mistakes carry over so if everything is not perfect..
Mallenby is the best professor in Creighton's worst department. That's the equivalent of being an all star on the Cleveland Browns. She goes through class very fast, requires a paper that she fails everyone on, and purposely has high point quizzes when no-one is there. She is not very caring. I would take Carlson over here.
Very sweet person, best option (I think of) the math teachers. Homework is participation, she gives the answer key. Lots of tests, which can be sometimes annoying but it's good for grade boosts. "Pop" quiz after every class but she tells you the type of question it will be. Pay attention in class because she talks quietly sometimes
Homework every night. Every class day there are quizzes on the new material learned, but can leave once done. The final is tough. She ends EVERY class super early, sometimes only 20 minute classes.
If you ever get the chance to make small talk with Dr. Mallenby, you'll find out that she is very caring and dedicated to her students. Although she has many classes to teach, she tries to learn each of her students' names. She will also give you a sticker on your test if you get a good grade.
Had for MTH 161, took her again for calc. Best math prof for these classes. Lots of tests- just do the practice test, it's basically the same as the actual. Pay attention to lectures, examples, do the homework. You'll be fine, especially if you've taken calc in high school
