She is a great professor. She has fun teaching, she enjoys her students. Her class is fairly easy, not ALOT of speeches, a good amount but not overwhelming amount. She emphaisizes alot on student to student relationships. First few weeks of class is basically centered around getting to know everyone. VERY GOOD CLASS, WITH A GREAT PROFESSOR!

You have no need for the textbook at all which is great and she doesn't have any tests your whole grade is four speeches and a random impromtu every now and then but all you have to do is try for the impromtu and you get full credit. I would def. recomend

I really like having Lima for speech. You never have to use the book, so i wouldn't bother buying it.. she doesn't give any tests.. just make sure you don't miss too many classes. she's pretty funny so it keeps your interested.. i totally recommend taking her

I would definately recomend Professor Lima. Her class is really easy and she is a really fun teacher. You dont even need the book she just tells you that its a good reference, but really you need to buy it. The class consists of 4 speeches, two of them are outlined but thats it. GREAT TEACHER!!!!!!!

MS Lima is really good NO NEED TO BUY THE TEXTBOOK, because you don't really use it but overall she is really good professor. You can learn a lot and do really nothing.

This Teacher actually made speech fun. Iam sad that this class is over. This is the second time I have taken speech and I highly recomend her. She makes you feel very comfortable on speech days. I had alto of fun.

Loved her class! I was really afraid to take this class, but her classroom style is an extremely laid back one. I eventually looked forward to her class. No book, no mid-term, no final.We did four speeches and only turned in two outlines. Did some impromptus but they were always fun. Take her shes and easy A.

Ms. Lima was very helpful and nice. She is willing to work around your problems that you may have with speaking, if you are not comfortable speaking in front of the class. At the end of the semester, I feel that this class is well worth it. You will enjoy her soooo much.

The speech class was simple. She overly expresses her liberal ideas, but none seem to be offended because she does it well. I didnt like to hear them. I asked for extra credit, anything to aid my journey into medical school, but she quickly refused. She should be more lenient in the beginning of classes, as some need time to adjust to stage fright.

loved this class! the speeches were pretty easy. but the best part is that if you have a fear of public speaking, she does everything possible to help you. by the end of the semester, you will know everyone in the class and feel completely comfortable standing up in front of them giving your farewell/ceremonial speech. definately recommend this pro

Awesome teacher! Really makes everyone feel comfortable with each other. (important for speech) Funny in her own way. No book needed. Go to class and give your speech and you will get an A or B. Just giving your speech will get you a lot of points, so don't worry about feeling wierd speaking, it is not that bad.

I have the worst fear of public speaking but somehow I loved this class. Im not volunteering to go speak in front of people anytime soon but Prof Lima made everything as comfortable as possible which is important. Even though you still have a fear of public speaking, take this class & I guarantee that you will walk away w/ something. Shes the best!

Didn't want to take this class but it's required. Glad I selected Ms. Lima. Gives lots of extra credit. No tests or HW or book for this class. Just show up (extra credit for coming to every class) & give your speeches. I was nervous for the 1st speech but everyone else is too, by the middle of the semester it was no big deal. Laid back teacher.

This is truly the best professor on campus. Take her because most of the majors require a speech class. No text book needed as mentioned before already. 4 Easy easy speeches throughout the semester. The only way anyone can get a B is because they are either they get nervous or they were unorganized.

Amazing Teacher. Makes giving speeches easy. There is no Pressure given off by her or the classroom. Grades easily, just make sure you do the outline good the first time around. There is no book needed so that's a plus. She is easy to talk to and get a hold of if you need help with anything. I Highly recommend taking her.

Four speeches, two that require research. No exams/quizzes. No textbook is used. Not too sure on how she grades.. some people speak very well and end up getting a low A or B. Clear on her requirements for speeches. She creates a very laid back atmosphere that helps keep people calm about public speaking. She does not require you to dress up. :)

Attend class because it is fun and you have impromptu speeches. Also, there are four planned speeches through out the semester. Lima makes the class enjoyable and has a great sense of humor. I recommend taking her!

She made the class fun and easy; I never felt over whelmed or stressed knowing that I had a speech coming up. And a bonus is that she does not require a textbook and there is no exam. =)

Anyone who doesn't think Prof. Lima is amazing is impossible to please. She is funny and creates a very comfortable atmosphere for her class. You can deliver your speech in sweats while sitting on a table if that helps you. She is very laid back and tries to make everyone comfortable. No book and no surprises in this class. Take her.

Ms Lima is a great teacher! I never knew I would enjoy her class as much as I did. 4 major speeches, 3 impromptu! Speech topics are of your choice and impromptu are always fun and interesting. She dresses formal and does not have a dress code for speeches. Highly recommend her, No books need! Just remain in your time frame! Have fun speaking

She doesn't require a book! She's very easy-going, making speech very fun! Helps you practice with impromptu exercises. Her door is always open if you need help brainstorming. No written exams or final.

I dread public speaking but with the fun impromptu's it makes it fun. Like everyone has said she is a great teacher. 3 impromptu's, 4 speeches 2 needing outlines. Great class and I feel much better about speaking in front of people.

I love Professor Lima. This is the second class I've had her for. I took it because I enjoyed her speech class so much. She is a fantastic professor. She teaches extremely well and keeps things interesting by throwing in fun activities. In the Fall, this will be an option to substitute for Speech. If you're shy, take this instead.

Prof Lima is a good teacher. She is very open minded and makes everyone feel accepted. It's important to come to class, and ON TIME!!!! But she does talk about a lot of inappropriate and unnecessary stuff. Overall shes a good teacher and a great experience because I had a classroom full of awesome classmates! She's a great teacher, I enjoyed coming to her class everyday, 10 min earlier. She's clear and concise. If you're a bit shy and want to learn why some people are the way they are and why they communicate, this is the class. Uses the book a lot, not pricey ($80 something) considering others are more. 3 papers, 2 projects, lots of extra credit. FUN!

This was the best speech class I've ever taken, and I have taken my fair share due to my fear of public speaking. Rrof. Lima makes you feel very relaxed and every speech is fun. My class seemed to bond by the end of it. Also, she has the best impromptus ever!

I was terrified to take this class, but it's required for my degree. Prof Lima gets students to feel comfortable. Plus she gives lots of good feedback and shares real world examples that are helpful if you are intersted in communicationsPR.

The best Speech Professor at Valencia College! I have to admit that I was afraid to begin this class, but with Lima that was gone very quickly. She makes the class environment comfortable. Dressing uptextbook are not required! Gives extra credit! Just try on the impromptus, follow the grading criteria and practice for your speeches! :)

Super chill professor. She does not grade harsh on speeches as long as you get up there and try. My classmates were also really great so it wasn't hard to give speeches in front of everyone. No homework or anything. Your grade is based on the speeches and like I said, try your best and she'll give you an A.

Class was super easy! She is so funny and nice, very approachable. Class had few tests, but they were easy. TB is used only for definitions and such. No group projects, but there is group congregation in class. Almost no hw. Few papers that are like 11.5 pgs avg. Love her and would definitely take again!

Best speech teacher! 4 Speeches clean/clear criteria, she IS there to help if you are confused about the guidelines or is a nervous public speaker. I had fun in my class, and will learn about different styles of public speeches. Cool thing is that you learn about yourself when doing the speeches and hearing the other students talk about theirs.

I love this prof. I learned so much in her class. She does make us read the textbook but the textbook is actually interesting so it's not so bad. Exam is all about the textbook

You should definitely take professor Lima! She's the most laid back professor, and keeps her class interesting with every lecture! I took her during the summer course and she told us we weren't gonna have tests, it was awesome! Had a couple of papers (reflections) 1 page long and a class discussion which was really easy. she's honestly awesome!

Overall a great teacher! Assignments besides quizzes/tests cannot be made up, at all. A bit of writing is required (1-2 page papers,) but it's all opinion based anyway. Easy A!

Shes one of the most wonderful professors Ive ever had. Her lectures are interactive and entertaining. This is a speech class, so youll have to participate in class discussions.

Professor Lima is great, she truly cares about their students and ensures to help you whenever you need it. She gets back to you very quickly when emailed. She is understanding of your personal situations and does whatever she can to help and accommodate you. No textbook is needed, all the material needed is provided in the assignments.

Overall the class was beneficial for learning about me but oh my it was so much work. All of the assignments had 3 parts mind you it was a summer flex class but there were 3 assignments every week. I never used Quizlet the quizzes were based on readings and I just used Ctrl F. There are a lot of articles and videos use transcripts to make it easy.

Professor Lima was a nice teacher who didn't have very many assignments. Her lectures were very informative and quite enjoyable.
