She is such a good lecturer, keeps us focussed with good engagement and question asking. Very stimulating, awesome person.
Michele is awesome!
Michele is a great instructor, she is very passionate about what she does, and is always sharing stuff about her research in the classes. Going to class is pretty essential since her notes are posted with many blanks, plus iclicker marks. She replies pretty quickly to email, which is always nice. The class itself is pretty easy for a science course
She is engaging and helps apply the concepts to real life. She tell stories and tells us about her research. She has passion in her work and her teaching. Her tests are very fair. Most of the stuff can be learned from her notes. She gives us slides with blanks to fill them in to help us engaged and she uses iClickers and makes them fun.
Michele is very helpful and she makes a 400 person lecture interesting which is not an easy feat. Also very friendly!
She's actually interested in the topic and makes the topic interesting. Has a true passion for psychology and loves sharing it with people. Is incredibly nice and easy to talk and ask questions to. Replies to emails ASAP. Going to miss having this prof, one of the best ones I've ever had.
To be honest, even though she is super nice and her class is really easy, her teaching style is a little bit condescending and it seems like she thinks her students aren't very smart. I don't think it's intentional, but it's frustrating to be sitting in a class where you are treated like you need a popular culture reference for everything.
Great prof! Posts powerpoint slides to eclass that have fill in the blanks which keep you interested. All textbook material is basically covered in her notes. Really friendly and makes the course interesting! iClicker questions included for bonus marks which is also nice. Tests are easy enough if you study! Overall, really impressed.
I highly recommend this prof
She is very passionate about the subject. Examples of this are: she goes above and beyond to talk about additional extra facts when her lecture slides are up. Most of it is to direct your interest about the concept but some of them do help you understand the concept. Sometimes, it's too much info though. Read the textbook if you're a selfstudyindiv
This class was excellent, Michele was so passionate and genuinely knowledgable about everything she taught. She made everything relatable and provided as many examples as she could to further our understandings. I would recommend her class to anyone! Loved it!
Michele was a very good prof. She gave great real life examples to help her students understand the concepts more and is always willing to answer any questions. Her exams were a little long but they were fair and came straight from the notes/textbook. She is very passionate about her research and likes to tell stories about it. Highly recommend her
My best university prof by far so far
Very Helpful prof! She uses specific, kind of weird examples to help explain/ remember each concept that really help. Going to the lectures is not necessary if you can get the notes, but it is highly recommended as she does go more in depth in each concept to really understand, plus they are actually interesting and really funny, boring.
My best prof so far. It's useful (And fun) to go to the lectures. Bonus marks worth 5% for answering iclicker questions. Interesting material and very fun prof. If you want to take 104, take it with Michele.
Best prof I had this semester by far. Michele speaks clearly, interacts with the class, cracks jokes and actually makes the lecture enjoyable. Bonus marks for iClicker answers and blanks in lecture slides make it a good idea to attend every lecture, not to mention the fact that she drops some really nice hints for exams.
My best prof this semester BY FAR!!! Michelle is relateable, funny, super friendly and a great instructor. I would highly recommend her.
Tests are long and she doesn't let you take them home when they're graded, which is a minus. If you're not an auditory or visual learner, you may struggle in this class. I found it very enjoyable, though a lot of studying is needed to get a (really) good grade!
Great personality keeps material interesting and easy to remember. Tests a fair bit on lecture material rather than textbook material so good note taking skills are required.
Fantastic prof. Everything was well paced and intereseting, highly recommended
First year in University and she made me love Psychology! She was by far my favorite prof/instructor this semester! She is very passionate and hope to have her teaching me again! She made my experience very memorable! Always wanted to come to class and learn since she made the class seem so enjoyable! Thank You Michele for the wonderful experience!
She is a great prof. This was the only class I ACTUALLY wanted to go to on a regular basis. She kept it fun, and interesting. Highly Recommend!
Attendance is not mandatory but is recommended because of iClickers
Amazing prof! Not super super easy but still not hard at all and very helpful. One of the few classes that buying the textbook proved to be useful. Exams were fairly easy, make sure to study for any possible matching questions, they're harder than they seem. Final exam was great and included many Survivor references.
really good and even raised money for charity
She is awesome! It is a very good idea to go to class because she gives you slides with blanks so you need to fill them in as you go. Also the examples she gives in class aren't always on the slides and you still are tested on some. Overall great teacher!!!
Awesome Prof! Super enthusiastic and helpful! Used many good examples and stories to help you understand and remember the material. Gave lots of hints and tips for midterms and final. Class attendance is not mandatory (but you can get an extra 5% for participation). Did an excellent job teaching her first class. Would recommend to everyone!
she was wonderful, loves the stuff she is talking about so class is interesting! i barely cracked the textbook but still was pleased with my marks. my friend never went to her class and did good just by reading textbook so either works. she also loves the iclicker so if you want those marks class is necessary
She was a fantastic prof! Always had some interesting story to tell, and made things really easy to understand. I enjoyed that she related some of the concepts to real life. Bringing your iclicker to class was a must. By far my favourite prof so far, and would recommend her to anyone!
Michelle is an awesome prof! She is very passionate about the subject and explains everything well. Being in her lectures were a pleasure, and they held my interest almost all the time. I would recommend her to anyone looking to take a psych class! When it came to textbook use, I only used it for studying; her notes are great.
BEST PROF EVER! She was my favourite professor this semester. Going to class is necessary because she has fll in the blank notes that are very helpful for studying. She mad class very interesting and great stories to tell. She was very clear in the concepts and she loved what she was doing. I totally reccomend her for PSYCH 104!
Michele was an awesome prof!
She is a good prof. Explain everything well. For those of students who likes reading, this is a great class. But if you are not so like reading and felt hard to memorize many things, don't take this class.
Really easy prof! Makes class interesting with examples and jokes. Make sure you go to class and remember the iClicker questions, she puts a lot of them on her exams!
Amazing prof. Really made the class exciting and worthwhile. With a little bit of effort, an A is very very possible with her. She's a prof that truly cares about your well-being and will help if you ask. I had her for PSYCO 372 as well, and she was just, if not more, as exemplary. Easy recommendation for anyone interested in anything.
Michele was an amazing prof! Her class is interesting and she is very helpful and understanding. If you pay attention in class and do the work you will do well in this course!
Michele is awesome. I took the night class for 302, it was a lot of work (many assignments and projects), but it ends up raising your grade in the end. Tests are long and are MC, SR and matching. All in all, she is funny and makes the class enjoyable. Expect a high average though. She doesn't curve or scale.
I absolutely love her. She tries hard to motivate students and is passionate in teaching. Many assignments for this course (PSYCO 302 Biology of Stress and Coping). As long as you pace yourself, it is doable. She gives a lot of bonus marks as well. Her exams were half MC, matching, and long answer - you NEED to be specific for long answer Qs.
This was my first night class and I thought I would hate it but it ended up being my favourite. I'm taking a class next semester just because she is teaching it. She explains concepts clearly and gives you lots of hints for her tests which are easy and a mix of MC, matching, and short answer. There are a lot of assignments but they raise your grade
What can I say that has not been said already? She is amazing: as a person, as a teacher, as a mentor. I have never had a prof who was so keen on helping her students succeed. From her, you learn not only about the class, but also about being a better student and person. Honestly the best there is, at least at the UofA.
The textbook is not essential but it makes the concepts even easier to understand. Great instructor! Made the 3 hour evening classes fly by!
She honestly makes learning fun! If you get the chance, choose her.
the syllabus scared me but I think that its all just part of michele's plan to weed out the weak. If you go to class and can operate an iclicker youll get the bonus marks. The assignments are fun, unique & really help you learn. Just dont stress about them hahahahaha anyways great prof great course Im glad beartracks crashed so i couldnt bail
Michele is the most down to earth, easy-going and helpful professor I've ever met.
Best prof ever. Makes psychology super interesting. Tests are somewhat difficult as she tests on her notes and the textbook. Notes are crystal clear and make sure you attend as she mentions that certain examples will be on the test. You get a bonus 4% if you do iclicker examples in class.
Most of her tests are based on the notes in class. Tests are tough but fair. Her stories are entertaining and her analogies help understand the material. Would take again. Its not an easy mark, you have to work for it.
Honestly, her classes were dry. It was boring and I always fell asleep. The powerpoints she uses are VERY vague. Reading through the textbook was so much better for insight. I hated sitting in her class because I didn't learn much. Reading the book helped me more than she ever did. If you want to do well, USE THE TEXTBOOK!
She's a great prof!! Go to lectures for iclickers and notes.
Michele is very young, down-to-earth, and super helpful. That said, you really have to come to class. Her notes are EXTREMELY vague, and the examples used in class WILL BE ON THE EXAMS. Her exams are difficult (even the TAs struggled on some of the questions), so come to class! The lecture room is always full cause she really keeps you engaged.
This course would have been brutal if another prof had taught it, but Moscicki was very good at reinforcing difficult concepts through assignments, which were only worth 5%. Her exams were very straightforward and she gave many in-class hints for the SA questions which were based off of assignments. You can definitely get 100% if you work for it!
Easy Prof to listen to for over an hour. She uses a lot of videos and stuff which is nice! Easy class to get a solid B, but higher than that takes work. Always answers questions after class! 2 midterms but not too bad. Uses the iClicker and counts the participation ONLY if the answer is right (was only worth 4% though). I'd say she's a solid Prof!
Has notes that directly relate to what will be on the test, go to class and pass simple as that.
She was honestly the most clear and concise prof Ive had all my undergrad. I enjoyed her teach style and her tests (I know, she was that good). Really fair tests if you understand things shes said in class and review once or twice. An A+ is definitely possible. She has in-class assignments that are fairly graded as well, and show up on exams.
Great prof! 90 minute lectures are usually pretty brutal to me but Michele keeps you engaged and explains things in detail so you don't need to open the textbook (textbook is optional for this course). The course itself is pretty dense so be ready to study extra hard and take detailed notes if you want an A in this class.
If you're a very good note taker, you'll be fine without the textbook because she touches upon it, though she goes through it very fast. If you're the type that can't continuously focus, I recommend paying attention to the fill in the blanks (of course) and the examples in class, and reading the rest of the extra info in the textbook.
Nothing bad to say about Michele. Great prof who puts time into making sure students understand. Slackers will get bad grades, it makes sense. Study before tests and make sure you understand things she stresses in class and there is no reason to get below an B+. Put in the time to get a good grade and you will. Don't need textbook, do get iclicker.
This class is definitely more biology than psych so be prepared to learn a lot about the body! Michele was an amazing prof and the three hours fly by. There's one midterm, one final, assignments and oral presentation, but she's an easy marker so don't let that scare you. TIP!! She puts up reviews day before the midterm/final so LOOK AT IT!!!
great prof, had her the first semester she taught, she got pie'd in the face. lots of fun and very engaging
She uploads powerpoint notes with blanks before class and you fill them in during class. She also uses iClicker's for a potential 4% bonus added to you overall mark. She is by far one of my favourite professor's and is very clear. Her notes are sufficient for the exams and her exams are extremely fair. Study and you can ace her class. :)
Great prof, She actually made the material interesting, and I passed the class with a relatively good mark considering I hate psychology. She posts the slides before class, and you fill in the blanks in class, and she also includes and extra 4% for iclickers which saved my butt. Her exams were good as long as you studied. Textbook isn't needed.
Moscicki is the best prof ever! She has a great vibe and creates a very engaging environment. Textbook is a good idea for studying but could probably get by without it. She made it clear what she was testing and stressing what is important to make sure you understand. If you try you can get a decent grade. Very helpful, clear, and concise.
Enjoyable class but the content can be dry at times. She makes it interactive by having students participate in polls. Her notes are detailed and cover what you need for midterms/exams.
Awesome prof! She teaches the material well and will be there if you need any help or clarification. Just be prepared to study for the course since the course is pretty challenging but if you put in the work you will be rewarded.
Michele is beyond amazing! She's the best prof I've had in my 5 years of university. Psyco 302 is one of those courses you can go home and tell your family/friends what you learned because it's all so interesting and relatable to real life! I'd reccommend her in a heartbeat. Her teaching style is phenomenal. Take a course with her if you can!!
Moscicki is amazing. She teaches the material well and manages to keep even the boring parts of psych interesting. Her clicker questions also help to liven up class and counted as bonus marks for the final. The test format is MC, Fill in the Blank and 1-2 short answer(midterms) or 4-5 short answer (final). She talks a bit fast though.
Made dry material interesting through iclicker participation which was counted as bonus marks! Straightforward and enjoyable class.
She is the perfect balance between challenge and fairness. I took this course just because she taught it, but it actually turned out to be one of the best courses I've taken. She made it from scratch and teaches about stress, which is super relevant! The syllabus looks scary but the projects are marked very fairly and are actually really fun to do!
Even me as an international student, found her lecture quite easy to understand, give iclicker bonus marks. Overall, great professor that I would recommend.
She didn't even finish the course . She was all over the place . Tests on random presentations of ppl she brings in. Tests about what she says in class and text book . If u dnt show up . Ur failing . If u show up ur still failing . U never kno w this chick
Michele really makes an effort to explain course material in a way that ensures all the students walk away completely understanding what was taught. Her in class examples help you remember important information and her lectures are very enjoyable.
Class was incredibly boring. Michele was funny but the material was dry and it gets boring to copy down word-for-word what she's saying (you won't pass if you don't pay attention). Tests are hard. You have to know little examples she gave in class plus memorize all the terms. Plus she didn't even finish the material, so. I wouldn't take it again.
Clearly conveys all concepts and has incredible control of the class. In a class of 444 students she was able to effectively address individual questions mid lecture. Her enthusiasm and sense of humour really helps keep the class interesting. Very helpful during office hours. Highly recommend this prof.
Michelle is very nice, as well as clear and interesting in lectures. Marks for participation through iClicker and things that are said in class and not on the notes, are test- worthy. Textbook is useful for when you miss a blank. Would take again, though tests do have written and matching and require some extra effort vs. Other psych 104 profs.
I loved every second of her class. She is funny so it makes going to lectures fun. Most of what she puts on the exams will be on what was discussed in class. Study hard for the midterms and do the participation.
Really knowledgeable and makes lectures easier to remember by relating them to interesting things. The i-clicker bonus marks are really helpful. Great prof!
I loved Michele's class!! Her lectures were really interesting with real life examples. Go to class, you need to fill in blanks and class specific examples will be asked about on the midterm and final. Responds to emails usually in less than a half hour and very comprehensible. Would take her again for any psych class! Textbook not necessary
This is the first time that Rate my Prof has let me down. The amount of effort you put in is not proportional to the grade received. Look forward to writing a 15 page workbook project and giving an oral presentation that she marks very strictly. If you're looking for the easy A, look away. Maybe her pedagogy doesn't match my learning style?
Dr. Moscicki was insightful, easy to listen to, and funny. Tells great stories that make learning easy and brings it guest lecturers to keep material interesting. She gives multiple opportunities for bonus marks and goes out of her way to make sure you get the mark you deserve. Tests are manageable, examples in class are used on tests - so show up!
Dr. Moscicki's lectures were interesting so it was easy to pay attention and motivated me to attend. Her examples and stories really helped me remember concepts. She gave hints for the final and up to 4% bonus on our mark with iClicker questions. I've learned so much from her and would definitely take her again. One of my favourite profs so far!
Fill in the blank lecture slides. I didn't use the txtbk except for the 20 pgs she specified we should read. MC and written for midterm and final. iClicker free marks. Easy 10% research participation.
Michele is such a nice person! She truly wants her students to pass and succeed, she fought for her entire class this year to receive the marks they did because they were higher than normal and the university wanted to lower them. She has fill in the blank notes and tests only on those. There is a 4% bonus for iClicker questions.
First time teaching this course and Michele did a good job. Is a 300 level course so you will need to put in the effort. Assignments get you ready for exams and the textbook helps. Up to 3% bonus for iClicker participation through the term. Final is cumulative so don't forget the early lectures. I found the later material more difficult.
She's a nice lady, but teaches so slowly. It took ages to get through the first 3 chapters then she had to rush through the rest of the course. The tests are easy with the exception of the written portion. Fill in the blank notes and iclicker participation was annoying.
I enjoyed having this prof! You have to come to class in order to get iClicker participation marks and to fill in the blanks in her slides, so if you miss a class and don't have anyone to contact to get the notes, you're out of luck. But she is very nice and gives good examples to help make sense of everything!
I found myself excited to go to class on a Monday morning because her class was that interesting. She tests on lecture material and makes it very clear what will be on exams if you are paying attention. Uses iclicker for bonus marks. GREAT class. Honestly she made a boring intro class into something fun and engaging. Easy to do well in this class.
Michele was such an awesome prof! She had amazing slides, all you had to do was fill in the blanks and take any extra notes you wanted. She used super easy iclicker questions for class participation marks which was nice. She wasn't boring at all and you could tell she really cared about the class and its content. Would take again!
Genuinely interesting. Very passionate prof who can make class interesting. Currently considering changing my major because of her. Exams are very fair, go to class and take notes and you'll do fine. Textbook not required but do get an iClicker for 4% bonus increase. Second midterm is a bit harder than the first but overall, manageable.
amazing real life examples used. use connect e book - very useful for picking key concepts. lectures organized. however, behind schedule often. read textbook first, as she may not cover all info in class before test if behind. test on guest lectures. participation not neccessary. very accessible outside of class. funny. would recommend!
Michele is the best! She genuinely cares that her students do well. In fact, she incorporated 6 SUPER easy assignments and iClicker questions as a way to boost your grade in this class. The material can be difficult but she is very accessible outside of class and more than willing to answer any questions. Don't take this class with anyone but her!
You do not receive feedback from assignments until after the exams, so you might make the same mistakes. 4 written questions on the exams are more like 20 questions. Class notes are fill in the blank so you're too busy filling in blank spots that you miss the explanations and examples because you can't write everything all at once. Need 92 for an A
The class is always engaging and the exams are FAIR. Anyone who complains just didn't study enough. Great prof. Highly recommend!
There are many many many experiments that she will go over during the course. It is extremely important that you keep building up from each one. Otherwise, you might feel lost when it comes to the end of the term. I would suggest a timeline or something similar. Her lessons are very engaging.
Exams are unreasonably hard. Incredibly hard marking. Her lecture style was great, lots of amazing examples, but get ready to memorize little details and enormous lists. Her "short answer" questions all usually have multiple parts. An A- is 88%! Exams are MC, short answer, and matching. Avoid if you need a high GPA.
Michele is amazing. She is always willing to go the extra mile to help you understand. She does her best to incorporate a whole bunch of different things to satisfy different learning styles. Oral presentation, stress workbook, in class assignments, midterm & final plus 2% bonus for iClicker participation.. which was super fun. Really inspirational
Michele was an excellent prof. Fair exams and useful class assignments! I learned so much in this class that I can actually apply to the real world. If you put the work into the class, a high grade is attainable. I ended with an A+ and class average was a B-. Exams were not tricky and questions came straight out of the notes - no textbook needed.
AVOID! exams were unreasonably difficult and long for a 200 level course. Take this class with someone with a more reasonable grading scale and expectations. A- was an 88%. There are profs that have easier exams and better grading scales. I will say this, though, you WILL learn a lot! Michele gave great examples, but if you need a high GPA, avoid.
Easy A if you pay attention to her hints in class, and participate via iclicker (adds 2% to your final grade). The lectures were engaging and Michele genuinely cared about her students. There are lists to memorize, but that is just the nature of the course- its honestly not hard if you understand the big concepts. Very FAIR exams- AMAZING prof :)
Not sure what she was thinking this year but her preposterous grade boundaries are very overwhelming. What 100 level class requires a 92+ for an A??? Her midterm questions were worded poorly, had ambiguity and lacked validity as she taught us. Do not take it with her if you goal was to have a GPA booster because with her, its not.
Um yeah her questions on the midterm was stupid. Some of them were out of pure memorization, or a weird application that almost seems like she forcibly tried to make the connection. Not a GPA booster at all and other psych courses are easier. Regret taking with her
Easy midterms that are based on her lectures(which are amazing), just pay attention and take note of the examples she gives and you'll do great on midterms, don't even need to read the textbook. Easiest class I have and best professor as well. Only class I like in uni so far. My only complaint is that you need a 92+ for an A.
she's really nice but she taught the first 3 chapters so slow because she invited lots of irrelevant guest speakers at the beginning. so she rushed to teach us the rest and it has become exhausting to keep up. she also doesn't seem to give fair exams, the class average reassured me that i was not the only one to barely pass this course.
Her lectures were pretty good, but the midterm was brutal. A lot of the questions were based on things that had only been discussed in class for about two minutes - that was fun :/
No idea where all the negative comments are coming from. Michele is HILARIOUS! I've never been a science person and thought I was gonna dread it, but Michele made it the most interesting course I've ever taken. Her i-clicker questions really tie in with lecture material, and I love how she was able to connect personally with such a huge class.
Michele is wonderful. Yes, her tests are brutally difficult, BUT, you take so much more away from her lectures and tests than you would in any other class. You learn more than just definitions- you learn how to actually apply knowledge to real life situations. Going to class is a must- as she tests on in class examples.
She really knows what she's doing. Her tests are heavily based on lectures, especially examples from the lectures. Recording would be extremely helpful.
Great prof, really cares to make sure you learn a lot about psych and how it applies. Unfortunately, her tests do tend towards having questions about very specific concepts you briefly discussed in class. If you want an A, you need to take thorough, excellent notes and study them.
Michele is incredible! If you pay attention in class and take thorough notes, which isn't hard because she's an engaging lecturer, studying for the test will be a breeze. She wants us to succeed & makes sure the information applies to daily life. This is my second class with her, and I will definitely try and take more!
The G.O.A.T.
Only post 8-9 questions for midterm practice and midterms are ridiculous. And NO practice exam for FINAL! PLUS You need to get at least 92 to get an A! Her class is okay, and she is nice as a person, but exams are way too ridiculous. This course is not a GPA booster! It's a GPA destroyer!!! If you just want to boost your GPA, don't take this one!
Michele is a wonderful prof! You can absolutely tell she really cares about the course and the success of the students. Her lectures are very engaging and she gives great examples! Only negative is that her tests were difficult and had a short answer component, which other classes did not have. Super interesting class and a very dedicated prof!
Michele was an amazing prof, her lectures were engaging and she was very accommodating to students. Attending class is a MUST because her exams are difficult, and based heavily on lectures. The textbook is testable as well so make sure not to fall behind on readings. Exams have a short answer component, so beware of that as well.
I enjoyed Michelle's class. The tests are based mostly on her lecture slides, so if you don't do well it's probably your own fault. Her Clicker questions were relevant. There weren't many guest lecturers: only 1, and also a presentation from the sexual assault center. She gives hints about what is important to remember. Would take another class
I went to all lectures, didn't even take that many notes and did minimal studying. Still did great on exams. Michele gives real-life examples in her lectures and cares about her students. I've taken classes 10 times more brutal than this one so if you're gonna whine about such an easy 100-level course then how are you gonna survive the rest of uni?
This is my second class with Michele and the second time I received an A+ in her class! Michele's exams are VERY fair, there are no tricky questions and everything tested was either said in class or on the slides. Plus she gives BONUS MARKS on exams, assignments, and iclicker questions. Very clear rubrics for assignments and great feedback!
One of the best professors I've ever had. Learned so much from her course!
She is a great lecturer that is clearly passionate about what she does. The only downside to Moscicki's teaching is that she is very slow. She makes sure what she teaches is clear but the class was behind. Due to time constraints, she wasnt able to teach the last chapter. She is very relatable. I would highly recommend.
Dr. Moscicki is clearly very passionate about what she does. She is very engaging and uses various techniques to keep students engaged. Notes are fill in the blank so make sure you go to class.
Her lecture is so dry its hard to pay attention but you have to because her iclicker questions count for marks and she tests on examples she talks about. Plus her notes are fill in the blank which is super annoying. She tries to make the class more engaging with these notes but its honestly just dumb.
She clearly heard Psyco 104 was suppose to be an easy A and decided to make it impossible for her students i mean 31 people dropped out for a reason
Nice person but wasn't able to use lecture time wisely as we were very behind. And you have to attend class or know someone in the class or you will not be able to get the blanks for the slides.
Michele was amazing! Her lectures were super engaging and thought provoking, and she was always readily available outside of class. With that said, her tests were very very difficult. I got a good mark because I studied my butt off. She tests on very specific examples from class, so don't miss any. Overall, I enjoyed her class- would take again.
Michele is hilarious and makes PSYCO104 more enjoyable. Her exams were easy but very specific to things she says in lectures. You actually have to show up to her lectures and take decent notes to do well. There's no assignments, just two midterms and a final as well as a chance to receive up to an extra 3.0% via iclicker and connect.
Her exams are entirely based on her lectures so skipping class isn't an option since she does not post her filled in notes online- she also uses examples that definitely make the concepts easier to learn. Her tests also have extensive written response questions. Overall if you study the lectures and her examples thoroughly you should be fine!
The sweetest prof ever! You do have to do attend class to do well on the tests, but her lectures are interesting and she gives hints as to what is important to remember and her iclicker questions are easy marks. She says that the textbook is fair game for tests but she focuses heavily on lecture material - pay attention to all her examples. Do it!!
There was 2 midterms and a final. She also gives bonus marks for the iClicker questions in class and she genuinely tries to make sure you understand the material. Questions (multiple choice, written response, and match) on the test will be based on the material talked about in class including videos, so just make sure to go to class and review.
Her notes are all fill in the blanks which means you must go to class. As well, she tests on specific examples that are not even in the notes. She says the textbook is testable and yet there are no questions that you couldn't reason through if you didn't read it. Highly recommend going to every class and taking detailed notes and you'll do great.
Probably one of my favorite professors so far. Her notes are good, and she explains concepts using analogies for better understanding. Go to her office hours for questions, and make sure to do iclicker questions, could boost you to the next letter grade. Exams were easy if you memorize her notes, the connect questions for the textbook helpful too!
Michele is a great instructor. She gives great examples of the topics and tests mostly on those. I did not even touch the textbook and relied solely on her lecture notes. She gives the opportunity for an up to 3% bonus to your grade with iclicker participation and makes her tests challenging. If you know her lectures well, you should do well.
the best prof ive ever had, so passionate and interesting. Her tests were all in class covered material, don't buy the textbook!! listen to her lectures and no homework needed. got an A- and put very little effort in other than paying attention
Loved her lectures and found her genuinely funny. Her midterms and final were harder compared to other profs but the short answer, matching and MC was definitely fair and better than pure MC exams. Dont need the textbook, show up, print off her skeleton notes, fill them in and youll do fine.
Michele is amazing! Her notes are fill in the blank because she wants you to come to class, but this means that her notes are all you need to study and her tests are easy. She doesn't use the textbook, but make sure to pay attention during class because she uses examples from class on her tests (easy examples, though, don't worry).
Michele made everything interesting and fun, even the most boring parts of the course, and made coming to class enjoyable. Her notes are easy to study from and straightforward, so that made the tests easy. She genuinely cares about her students and is available to help with any questions. If you get the chance to have her as a prof, take it!
Super passionate and good at clarification of all topics. If you don't go to class you'll likely be very confused and not do too well. iClicker bonus points.
Don't buy the textbook. 28% MT (x2), 32% Final, 12% assignments and up to 2% BONUS for iClicker which is nice. Fantastic lecturer, but tests are TOO LONG! Majority of class was still there at the end of each exam (final was 3 hours...). Take her if you are interested in truly learning because she presents the material in an enjoyable way.
Just had my first midterm from Michele. She truly is an amazing prof and cares about what she is teaching, but the exam was terrible. The MC and matching questions are easy - if you study and know your stuff. The hardest part is the short answer. SA questions are SUPER SPECIFIC and LONG!!!! 4 parts to each etc. plus you only get an hour 20 min.
I love Michele, too bad she's leaving. 1 midterm and a final, all non cumulative, a written project and oral presentation + participation marks. Great lecturer overall and will be missed at the u of a.
shes really interesting, nice and overall good prof!! the class was just really hard, harder than i felt it needed to be. she tested on specific discussions from lectures and specific examples that may have only been briefly discussed. you literally cannot zone out or miss a class at all. also wasnt a fan of her fill in the blank note style
Michele is a nice person and very knowledgeable. She cares about the subject material and it shows in her lectures. Unfortunately she is a brutal marker and her tests focus heavily on memorizing specific details rather than understanding the whole picture. The class I took was on stress and coping. It definitely lived up to the first word.
I thought exams were very fair. The textbook was a great supplement, it's not required that you read the text but it does help clarify solidify certain concepts. I thought she was very well spoken and explained things in a way that was easy to understand. Midterm, oral presentation, written assignment etc. lots of opportunities to do well.
Psych itself was a boring class, one lecture a week, teaching yourself the materials. Michele was a super nice lady, but that didn't make the class interesting. The way that the class is run needs to be changed. I didn't pay money to teach myself an entire class.
