A very interesting class, it made me think a lot. Great teacher!!
She is a great teacher. She is hilarious and easy to understand. Homework is easy and interesting. I highly recommend her!
She is very helpful and knows her subject very well. Homeworks are easy and useful. There are two tests and are both pretty easy. You have to talk notes during lecture though. This class will help you a lot regardless of your gender
Mrs. Wilson is awesome. If you really want to learn, take this class with her. She is so capable and helpful instructor.
She is a great teacher. I love her personality and the style of her teaching. Her class is useful and interesting.
I have taken several classes from Michele. I am not sure what teacher some of these students who are so disgruntled think they had, but I can find 10x as many who LOVE her. She is helpful, confident, and has 10 years experience in the field PRIOR to teaching, and continues to work while teaching. Some students (dudes with attitude in particular)
I was really stoked about Anthropology before I had this class. I didn't like Michele at all; what a boor. She's arrogant and doesn't seem to have much respect for others. I can't libel her, but...She did a lot of unProfessor-like things. Also, grading on tests was confusing.
I'm actually sitting in her class while typing this. Michelle is a magnificent example of what an instructor should be like. Although some find her "attitude" unprofessional, I would completely disagree. I enjoy her passionate honesty and couldn't expect more from her interesting women's studies class. She is also quite humorous as well.
Really fun class if you're into archaeology. Michele is an engaging instructor who cares alot about the topics. Easy A if you stay on top of the assignments and contribute to discussions.
Michele chooses whether she likes you the day you set foot in her class. Unfortunately for myself and my class friends, she despised us and gave us the grades to reflect that. She automatically cut all my classwork and homework credit in half with absolutely no reason, and gave me the wrong grade on my midterm. She is, in the best words, a b*tch.
I really enjoyed this class and am surprised by this thread. The major thing to remember with this class is to keep up on the reading and show up for the group discussions. Exam grading, in my experience, was on the generous side of fair.
Michele is an interesting, intelligent, and kind professor who expects you to have an open mind and values critical thinking. Effort means the world to her, and she is not fond of blank spaces on her tests. Participate fully in class and you will learn much, have fun, and do well. I would take any class she teaches without hesitation.
Michelle is hot, awesome, fun, funny, and makes every class so interesting. I love her!
I have to disagree with the people in this thread who had bad things to say about Michele. She is a GREAT teacher, she is patient, clear, makes the class fun and interesting an she is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. I am looking forward to taking more classes from her!
I'm very disappointed in Michele's teaching style and the how she is so judgemental. She says to keep an "open mind" but if you disagree with her, she will give you a horrible grade. I did ALL the homeworks, completed all the tests, attended all the class lectures (except for one because of being sick) and got a bad grade & im usually an A student.
She's very nice, there was never a dull moment in class! You need to be on time, complete ALL of the short summary for discussion, and DON'T FALL BEHIND ON READING (all the info you'll need for midterm&final will be from the chapter readings) i fell behind and had to read 7 chapters the night before finals but still got an A!
She is great super easy!!! Class activities are fun and helpful to what we are discussing!!! The reading is VERY important!!! If you do the study guided then you will do great on the test!!! I would recommend her a million times and more!!! Plus there is a field trip to the zoo!!! FUN!!!
Great instructor, comes across very casual, but don't let that fool you. This teacher is full of knowledge it proceeds her laid back personality at times. I'd recommend her in a heart beat. Great instructor, I'll remember her class forever!
I think Michele is a great instructor and remarkable human being. Consistently throughout ATH 102 course she brought a lot of passion to archaeology and infused her lectures and labs with really good energy. Every class experience I learned something interesting and new. Her course inspired me to seriously consider anthropology as my college major.
I loved having Michele as an instructor! She's articulate, funny, passionate, and knowledgeable about women's studies. I learned a lot and looked forward to coming to class every day. In lieu of a textbook, she had us read a list of internet articles pertaining to each section. Great way to save students money on books!
Michele is an awesome teacher! She has a creative and interactive teaching style; class participation and critical thinking is a must! She absolutely made learning fun. Come to class, participate, read & do the work (all no brainers)and you will have an amazing experience!
Wilson was intimidating at first but she's a nice person. She speaks her mind, she's sarcastic and funny. This class was SO interesting. Grades are based on tests, projects and in class activities. Activities were fun and reinforced what the information in the lectures. The study guides before the tests were helpful. Do not fall behind on reading!
Michele is awesome! She is nice and funny and not at all judgmental. Her tests can be difficult you just have to make sure to study. But other than that I love her class and it will always stick with me! She is my favorite teacher!
I really enjoyed her class. I found that I will remember everything. We had no text books, so it saved money. I would recommend her class to anyone. She is nonjudgemental and very accommodating. I found that she was easy to talk to. I enjoyed her as a professor and a person.
Super awesome person and instructor. She is very clear on what to expect and is very approachable. I have taken more than one class from her, she's the best.
Michelle is an amazing teacher. She is down to earth and tells it like it is. She comes from a feminist view and makes you think critically about a lot of things.
She forces you to think outside the box, and step outside your comfort level sometimes in order to help you learn.Sh's witty and funny. Dont hold back, I promise you she wont! She rocks!!!
I LOVED Michele's Women's Studies course! She makes the class fun and interesting and has a lot of great ways to relate the coursework to our everyday lives. I recommend her to anyone wanting to take Women's Studies or Anthropology. She knows her stuff!
One of the best teachers I have ever had. she's extremely helpful when you need it, and she can give you so many outlooks on the same issue. After taking this class I've decided to change my major, and a lot of our class has signed up to take her Anthropology class, just proving how great of a teacher she is.
Michele Wilson is a very interesting woman. She is very sarcastic and funny with a great personality. Her classes and the Labs are very fun and informative. My favorite class no question.
Michele is amazing! There was no text book used and no tests but the class was still challenging. There are a lot of readings and essays but they are mostly current and interesting. Her lectures and homework are fun to do. She is willing to help you with if you ask. I really recomend any of her classes.
Attendance mandatory, tons of homework for a 101 class. It has nothing to do with my major, so I did not appreciate how much effort I had to put into such a low-level course. However, I really did learn a lot and I was never bored! Hard A
Sarcastic, funny, makes lecture interesting. Her classes really opened my eyes. If you practice vocabulary & do the practice tests, guaranteed A.
I wish I would have taken this class earlier in my life. Michele is beyond amazing, and she loves to teach WS. She's brilliant, witty, funny, and will challenge you in a great way. No exams, no textbook. lots of article reading & essay writing-- which was a more effective way for me to learn. If you don't like to write, this may not be your class.
Michele changed the way I perceive the human race and the way I react to different cultures. She reaches her students on a basic human level. Smart, witty, informative, open to discussion, available, and fair. She's ruined every professor for me, as she sets the bar very high. Life changing class, if you're open minded and inquisitive.
This professor is the best teacher I have in the 2 years I have been attending college. I believe this class is a must for any student.
Michele is probably the best teacher I've ever had. I gave her a 4 for easiness not because she's "easy," but because she makes everything difficult easy to understand. She is extremely helpful, hysterical, fair, and taking her ATH 101 class convinced me to major in Anthropology when I was on the fence. She is everything a teacher should be.
All the homework we did was Labs. Mostly they were done in class, and the take home portion was a reflection of that days work. Tests required a lot of writing and defining terms and key points. Only 2 tests, and if you paid attention in class and read terms in the book you will do fine in the class. She is funny and makes class fun.
She amazing. Loved being in here class she really explains things with a passion.
Michele is literally the most amazing professor I have ever had. She changed my mind about what I wanted to do in life and now I am an archaeology major. I learned more from this one class than I have my entire year of college thus far.
This class opened my eyes to so many issues I have never thought about. It was so interesting and I really enjoyed coming to class, even in the summer! You have no text book but you HAVE to do the readings. They are all interesting as well. I highly recommend her as a teacher. Her passion about the subject is what makes this class amazing.
Michele is a great teacher and a fun person. I honestly didn't care about Archaeology prior to taking this class (only took it because it fit my schedule). This class did confirm that I don't want to be an Archaeologist but I have WAY more respect for the field now that I've taken it. The class is pretty easy(5 labs and 2 tests) and quite fun.
Before I took her Women's Studies class I was skeptical of the subject as a whole. She takes a whole new approach to it through an anthropological viewpoint and discusses feminism around the world and not just in the United States. Each lesson is invigorating and will help you become better informed as a human being.
Michele is probably the BEST teacher at PCC. If you are interested in the subject, willing to work, and focused on claiming your education (rather than just getting one), take Michele. She will help you grow as a student and as a person. Class activities are always ingeniously charming and pertinent. Couldn't recommend this professor more.
Michele literally changed my life. Taking her class is what inspired me to become an Archaeology major. She's super inspirational and probably the best teacher at PCC.
If you are thinking of taking another teacher just stop right now. Michele is 100% amazing. You won't regret taking her.
Signed up to meet some institutional requirements, now considering changing my major. Michele is no-nonsense, hilarious, incredibly smart, witty, and forced me to think about every aspect of my life and what I now know to be culture. This is the ONE class that I will remember for life. Take her, take her, take her.
It is a really great class if you want to learn about the world around you, it is very much cross-cultural. I really liked doing the field work projects because it gave me the opportunity to apply what I was learning. Michele is very good about explaining how the concepts influence each other and defines them clearly for you as well.
Not a ton of work, but really hard quizzes. Comes in late and keeps the class late every day so hope you don't have anywhere to be on time. Grades harshly if she doesn't think you put enough effort into it, but not the worst. Overall, informative class, but not my favorite. Make sure and always do the reading!
Michele is an excellent lecturer, she is organized, comprehensive, and always ready to take a detour to explain further or answer questions. Her grading is commensurate with the level of education you receive however, so don't expect an easy A. I'd still rather receive a C from someone with her standards than an A from a pushover though.
Wilson is amazing - the very definition of tough but fair. Knowledgable, passionate, and funny. You'll have to work for your grade but it's very worth it. Pay attention and you'll be a better person for it. One of the best teachers at PCC
Wilson is an excellent professor, and her lectures are engaging and inspirational. She's also organized and very helpful. There's not a lot of work, but the homework that you do counts a lot. The class isn't an easy A, but if you pay attention and participate, you'll get a good grade. Don't skip class unless necessary.
Michele is a great professor. I can't say enough good things about her. I'm also glad there were no midterms/ final tests in this class. Quizzes were manageable, fieldwork projects were eye-opening (and then some) and the whole class was great. I would take it again!
anyone who can make antiquities laws interesting, is a genius. seriously wish she could just teach all of my classes, she's just that amazing. Really do have to work for it though, taking notes is IMPERATIVE. you will NOT pass without taking notes. really engaging and extremely smart. my fave teacher EVER. MUST utilize the study guides for exams!
As an aspiring archeologist, I am proud to say that ive taken every anthro class with her! She is a remarkable person in addition to her teaching style. She is laid back and young at heart with an abundant understanding of the anthropological field. You will have trouble not paying attention, as she is passionate and energetic. Pareticipatekey
Michele gives her lectures in a laid back, conversational tone and explains what she's saying with stories from her experience (she has a lot). Attendance matters-especially with labs-and the lab evals must be detailed. She makes boring topics interesting. There were only 2 tests all term (test 2 was the "final").
Michele is awesome. Her teaching style is very relaxed, and uses examples from her personal life to better explain things. She is also HILARIOUS, her sense of humor is very dry but its just great. As far as grading, she is tough and looks for details, but in the end you get the grade you deserve. Overall, I would highly recommend taking her class.
I love Michele! She has so much knowledge and her lectures have taught me so much! The learning activities we do always make you dig deep into your brain. The take home quizzes are not exactly easy but as long as you think critically you will get a good grade.
MIchele is the best! She gives great lectures and really cares about what she does, and it shows. You have to read and write a lot, which I normally hate (more of a math person tbh), but for her I really didn't mind. She's effin funny, great person, genuine, engaging, and all around wonderful human fricking being. Yas QWEEN!
Michele always started class 10-15 min late but yet she grades you down if you are late. the first two weeks of class we spent the entire class going over the same two slides. She is very unclear with what she wants you to do. Worst teacher I have ever had at PCC, avoid taking class with her.
I personally had a great experience with this teacher. A lot of class is PowerPoints, but she is like a storyteller with her lectures. She also does a few hands-on activities in class that are pretty fun and fascinating. This is one of the best classes Ive taken and I highly recommend it!
This professor will make you think, help you to understand yourself and society on a deeper level, and help you out as much as possible with clear/respectful communication. She taught me so much and I will not ever forget this class or what I learned in it. She is awesome, she makes class interesting and fun as well. She grades fairly.
The workload was fairly light: either one discussion or one assignment per week, in addition to a midterm and final exam. Grading was pretty harsh and the reading/lectures were extremely heavy. Surprisingly difficult for a 100-level class, so you'll have to work extra hard if you want an A.
Michele is an awesome professor. She comes across as intimidating at first but she's actually very laid back & funny. I took her Women's Studies 101 class & it was SUPER easy but still fun. She's great at making her classes more interesting than just basic lectures. If you want to learn a lot without being super stressed, Michele is a great choice.
She went through some interesting subjects, but overall I was quite disappointed. Her tests were very difficult and worded quite confusingly. The main project for the term could have been a lot more interesting and could have lined up better with the subject of the class. I wouldn't suggest taking her.
Michele is a great instructor and knows her subject matter in and out. She is going to challenge you, but it is in a good way. The course is well structured and I would recommend it to anyone that is seriously interested in this topic.
Michele is not only a phenomenal educator, but you can tell she loves her job, and shes passionate about the subjects she teaches. I took her womens studies class and I wish I could take it 20 more times, thats how much I enjoyed it. The course work was pretty light, and overall not a difficult class, but an important one, and I recommend it!
Shes a great professor, but VERY tough for a 100 level course. Expect to do no less than 4 hours per her requirement, per week or you will not get competency grade at the end. She will give you a B for that. By no means is this an easy A course, but she is a good professor. Just prepare to read hundreds of pages online each week. Good luck!
Best professor ever! Michele is very knowledgeable. I enjoyed all of her lectures. They were easy to stay awake and engaged in. Her sense of humor is pure excellence. I wish every professor engaged with their class the way Michele does.
Michele is the greatest professor I've ever had, hands down; she is inspirational, caring, and direct. While she can be a tough grader, she really wants you to succeed; she wants to see you put in the effort though. Michele makes the subject of the course fun to learn; you won't want to miss a class. There really is no other professor like her:)

Michele was super funny and relaxed which made the class more interesting. The workload is manageable with few homework assignments. There was a good amount of online quizzes. The class is fairly easy, just do the quizzes and homework and you will be good. For WS 101 the quizzes were based upon article readings and vocab, so there was no textbook.
Professor Wilson is a very tough grader and you absolutely must participate at 100% efficiency to get a good grade. She flat out tells you, you must earn your A. I have never worked so hard to get an A in my life. But she gives wonderful feedback and responds quickly. Once you know what is expected, you will pass this class. Do not slack off!
The worst teacher that I have ever had period. She is an extremely rude teacher if you have a different opinion than hers, and she will make you feel guilty for standing up for yourself in class. Michele was manipulative and will give you a grade depending on how much you respect her, NOT on your academic progress. Stay away at all costs.
I took both anthropology 103 online and womens studies with Michele. She is an incredible teacher. She gives amazing feedback whether you did well on an assignment or not. Even if you get 100% she will have plenty of notes with feedback or more thought provoking questions. She is hilarious and I would highly recommend taking her if you can.
Assignments are pretty easy and straightforward. There was one research project which wasn't too hard. You can tell she's passionate about anthropology. She's hilarious and understanding if you're ever behind or need extra help!
Michele is probably the best professor I've ever had. She is intelligent, has good boundaries, works incredibly hard for her students, is good at communicating, is willing to work with students, and is passionate about what she teaches. I highly recommend taking her classes.
Michele is an amazing teacher and communicates very well. I took ATH103 and we did 2 worksheets every week (One independently, one in class in a group) And a final report. I learned a lot from this class, but there is a lot of reading (I didn't read anything and still passed). Overall Michele is a hilarious, caring teacher who wants you to succeed!
Michele is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She's hilarious, her lectures are engaging and easy to follow, and she create an safe environment for exploring complex, emotionally charged topics like race and gender. Be ready for a TON of reading, but be assured that none of it will be boring. 10/10 highly recommend.
Michele is an amazing teacher! I have never felt more challenged by a class's material but still so engaged. Her assignments ask for a lot of introspection at times which I found to be really illuminating. She assigns a lot of reading and content but it's all manageable and really interesting. She is an amazing teacher!!
This is not a class that feels remote. She REQUIRES you to show up to every single class and participate in breakout rooms. The amount of information you absorb goes well beyond womens studies alone, but instead is trying to tackle the world. Although this is noble and well educating, it is overwhelming and extreme since it was an 8 week course.
This class made me smarter. Professor Wilson knows what she is talking about - she is next-level intelligent and is able to impart that intelligence to students which is a rare combo. My major is unrelated to women's studies but I considered taking another one of her classes because of the enormous impact this class had on me.
I will recommend Michele as a professor forever. She not only teaches you the materials you signed up for but she intentionally seeks out Emic voices to tell that story. You will not only learn more about other cultures, but you'll also learn how to be respectful of cultures that are not your own. Be attentive, and you will succeed.
I loved this class and this teacher. She is very passionate about social justice. Group heavy zoom rooms were a bit difficult sometimes because she was never present to give direction and a lot of the time everyone was silent for like 20 minutes. With more teacher led discussions, the class would be so much better. Make sure you participate.
Michele has been my favorite Instructor at PCC so far. You can tell that she is passionate about her job and she cares for her students to succeed. She grades fairly and all of her assignments were interesting to do which makes you feel more engaged. This class had a lot of impact on me and I would totally take another class with her again.
Best professor i've ever had
I would just like to say that the unprofessional attitude of this teacher was staggering. As someone else stated her criteria for grading is highly questionable. Definitely, not an acceptable learning environment!
Michele wants students to improve their understanding and grasp the material. As someone who missed a class and an assignment it didn't reflect in my final grade. I was able to demonstrate growth through my assignments and that's the most important thing.
Michele is an absolutely fantastic professor. Her assignments are fun and her grading is clear and fair. She is also really funny and a great communicator.
I'm still in this term and I'm beginning to regret signing up for this class. The group work is not only poorly put together and sometimes vague, but you HAVE TO participate THE first day. There's several group activities. People have lives. I don't understand what the hurry is. Let's consolidate these down to maybe 2 group assignments please!!!!!!
She was absolutley amazing! I would love to take another class with her again. At first the work can seem overwhelming but it really isn't as much as you think. She grades quickly and is so helpful and supportive. Very easy grader. If you do the work, participate and turn things in on time it's an easy A.
Michele is a great and caring professor. I took her women's studies Zoom class; the lectures were never boring. I would recommend this class to anyone, it is very impactful and it taught me many things. Every couple of weeks, group assignments are a good part of your grade.
Professor Wilson's WS101 class was an impactful and engaging experience. The lectures were thought-provoking, and she provided valuable feedback to help students grow. Unstuckstudy was a great study tool alongside the course materials.
I enjoyed this teacher until I realized how tough of a teacher as well as how HEAVY she is on group projects and groupwork. We lost two people. She is an extremely tough grader, and her instructions are NOT CLEAR. Do not take this professor. I took her because of these "good" reviews. Do yourself a favor and take someone else.
This is a true 'easy A' course as long as you're not chronically late. There were no essays or exams, and usually just 1 or 2 short assignments each week. The tricky part is there are a few group projects spread throughout the term; the expectations were not high, but some students preferred to procrastinate until the final morning. Don't do that..
Michele is a thoughtful teacher that's passionate about Native culture and history. She is very responsive, it usually takes about a day to get an email returned. Gives good feedback on assignments that is personalized and thought out. Worked with me when I got confused about due dates. You'll have some reading and a manageable work load.
Really an amazing instructor. She grades quickly and is forgiving of minor errors, expects some knowledge of the material but is not overly demanding, and is almost always available. The assignments are very well structured and have a clearly laid out pattern throughout the course.
