Talks fast, stay awake & keep up. Covers alot of content. Tests are hard but course is passable. Study with a group.
Wow, this woman talks fast. She covers a huge amount of material, notes are a mixed bag, sometimes great, sometimes really horrid to work with. Be on time, dont interupt, there isnt the time, DO THE READING. you will not get by if you dont.
Michele is one of the best instructors I have ever had!!!She is extremely smart and is willing to help you think things through....if you want to learn take her. If you want to slack off, take someone else.
Michelle, is a great professor. She's very knowledgeable. The powerpoints and notes are very helpful- I got away without reading a single part on the textbook. The quizzes and tests are fair. You really have to study and do the reading. It helps to record the lecture because repetition is the key to understanding concepts.
PALS is a good class to study to prepare you a knowledge about emergency. just study it. prepare the midterm well (type it). study the study guide.you will easily get A. i love stimulation. take this class. it is really helpful
She is great. If you have any prb or difficulty, talk straight to her and she will help you. If you want to prepare for N176, take her please, please for your benefit
She's passionate about peds!
Michele is a great clinical instructor, very helpful, easy to talk to, you need to be very detailed in your careplans, plan on spending at least 8-12 hours on them. Midterm in hard so study appropriately
She's very helpful and fair. Please take her class - whatever she's teaching esp peds stuff.
Excellent instructor. Very knowledgeable. Helpful stories. She really cares about her students. She will help you learn so much about peds, It is obvious that she loves to teach!
She is HARD
If you are struggling with your tests, speak with her privately. She will guide you to the areas you need to focus on. My grades went up after that!
Excellent instructor, very knowledgeble and passionate. She really cares about her students and will do whatever she can to help you!
She gives lots of feedback and help with how to do the papers. It was not an easy class but I learned a lot. Worth the effort! She is very caring and it is obvious that she is passionate about teaching. If you email her, she usually gets back to you right away.
Knows her stuff! Passionate about peds and loves to teach. Papers were not easy but she helped you with how to do them well. I found my next semester papers were easier because of her help. Take her clinical if you can!
I took her N 161 over summer. There are a lot of reading assignments questions and 3 discussion boards that require time invested into this class. If you invest the time into the assignments you will get an A even if your test scores are Bs/cs . She really wants you to succeed and will answer questions quickly over email!
I took her N161 class. The expectations were clear and the slides were a good supplement to the book. The writing assignments are a lot of work but helped me understand the material. If you do the work, you will get an A! The professor is very good about giving good feedback and getting back to you right away. I learned a lot in her class!
Good feedback on paperwork. I learned a lot from the book and assignments even though they were time consuming. Prof Wolfe gives good feedback and responds to questions by email. I recommend you take this class!
By far the most enthusiastic & compassionate professor I have ever had! She truly loves teaching & it was a privilege to have been given the opportunity to have her for so many courses!
Very nice professor, but a ton of work. The work isn't that hard, but there's just so much. Quizzes were not too bad. Hardest part is staying focused to meet the deadlines, and get all the work done.
The topics assignments really helped me focus on what is important and helped me better understand the material. Prof Wolff was really good about responding to my questions and giving me feedback. Take this class if you can!
I blew off the reviews saying there was so much work because of the high rating, but there is SERIOUSLY a ton of work. The high rating is because she is a sweet teacher and gives good feedback, but the work is insane! I can not stress enough, if you are taking hard sciences, do not take her. I am a straight A student. This sucks. You're welcome!!
I agree with the comment below. You inspired me to write my own review:) I am currently in this class, and I am literally doing assignments 18+ hours a week and it is all busy work. I am taking it as an 8 week class, but the work load is insane!! DO NOT take this class if you are taking more than 2 other classes. You have been warned, good luck
I learned a lot in this class and really enjoyed having Professor Wolff. However, be aware that there is A LOT of homework. Start your weekly modules as soon as they are posted and take your time on the tests. It is easy to get an A in this class as long as you put in the effort. Definitely take this professor!
Shes super nice & always gives great feedback on HW, but as said, there is a lot of HW in the class. It's not hard, but its time consuming. Each week, you either do a Topics Assignment or a discussion board. The topics hw are usually 30 paragraphs long, but they do help you on the exams. My tip is to do a little each day&manage your time properly!
Professor Wolff is amazing. I took her online class, and she was always so kind when I reached out to her. Her key topics are time-consuming, but they help you retain information for the test. I have actually started doing this for my other classes. She is the best teacher I have had in a long time. I enjoyed her class. Must take.
Professor Wolff is extremely caring and kind, and consistently gives amazing feedback for every assignment you turn in. Discussions are the easiest component of the class. Key concept assignments are easy, but take a LONG time. Don't procrastinate on it and you'll do fine. Tests are a bit tricky, but if you carefully answer them, it's doable!
Professor Wolff is very passionate about pediatrics. She is very approachable and works hard for her students. Her lectures were engaging. She explains complex concepts in a way I could understand. Her material was well organized. The notes and slides with videos were very helpful.
I was scared of Wolff at first, but she was amazing & turned out to be my favorite professor ever! Her lectures are amazing, slides & lecture notes go together & cover test material. She is very organized with everything! You have to work for an A, but she's there to support & teach you. I learned more from her than any other nursing professor.
I took N174 Clinicals with Wolff. She's a really nice professor. She does clinicals at Mission Hospital. The only "bad" thing about her is that she loves her papers. N174 Clinicals doesn't count for a grade, however, she grades clinical assignments on Canvas and has a point system for it. She doesn't make you do additional maps, but rather fix them
Awesome prof! She gives the best feedback I have ever gotten. It is obvious she really cares about her students and teaching. Class was well organized and easy to follow. The assignments helped me better understand the material were not bad because I did the assignments a little at a time.
RN Wolff was an excellent professor that gave great feedback on papers. She makes sure to update any changes such as EXTENDING deadlines. She gives UNLIMITED time on each exam and OPEN NOTE on exams.
Gives great feedback. Really cares about her students.
Prof Wolf is supportive in helping me understand complicated information. She really cares about our learning. Great class!
Professor Wolff is an excellent teacher. Her lectures are really great! She pushes you to do your best and always is willing to help as needed. She is very knowledgeable about pediatrics too!
This class is do-able is you start to work early on the Key topics and other assignments. Her exams are untimed and challenging; just take your time in researching the questions (no backtracking allowed on the previous questions). It's not a hard class but it's a lot of WORK. Take her in the summer. She also responds well to email and feedbacks.
She is extra. She grades assignments (good grade), then has a change of heart and re-grades them to a non-passing grade!!! She is rude via email (uses a lot of capital letters and exclamation points) and calls you out in front of your nurses during your clinical days, super embarrassing. She cares more about assignments than actual nursing.
Okay, she can be a bit erratic and confusing. However, if you make it clear you want to learn and work hard then shell back off. She comes down hard on the students that werent following written directions, werent listening to instructions, and werent putting in the effort. Know your stuff and take charge on the floor and shell support you.
Prof Wolff is amazing! She is very passionate about teaching and her patients. If you put in the effort, she gives you lots of feedback to help you learn. She is very responsive to questions and works hard to help you understand. I have had to make corrections but learned from all of them. I am glad to have some who cares enough to do this.
Professor Wolf is a great teacher! She is caring and wants you to do your best. Her lectures are really great too. All of the stories, videos, case studies etc really helped me understand complex conditions. The tests are challenging but fair - they test what we learn about in class and what is in the notes / slides.
EXTREMELY great at giving feedback for every assignment. Exams are every 2 weeks, untimed and encourages you to look up the answers. If you show you want to do well and communicate with her, you will. Key topics are the longest assignments but due the day before exam. Possible extra credit. She gives every detail for grading expectations.
The assignments were laid out clearly and were in depth on how to do every assignment correctly. I really liked all of the examples. Responded quick to questions. Communication was simple and quick. Prof Wolfe is considerate and caring about her students. I liked the flow of assignments. Even though alot of work, they helped me learn the info.
Her directions were very clear. Her communication and feedback was excellent throughout the course. She always got back to me very quickly when I had questions and issues. Her replies to every single assignment were very detailed and helpful. This has been my favorite online class thus far. All assignments were do-able if I did not procrastinate.
Prof is very passionate about pediatrics. She is a good lecturer. She will help you if you seek her out for questions. The quizzes and tests are fair if you study the material. I enjoyed this class!
Easy A if you put in the effort - lots of homework that is time consuming (especially the bi-weekly Key Concepts assignments). She is OVERLY accommodating and extended deadlines for almost every assignment/exam due to student's crying (surprising as these students want to be nurses, etc). Very informative course altogether! Book is helpful.
She cares alot about her students. She does whatever she can to help. She gives good feedback which helps for the next assignment.
I loved this class, but I do have to say it has a lot of time consuming assignments. BUT they are easy! She lays everything out for you, as long as you do the work, you will do good! Listen to what she tells you in announcements, I promise shes not just saying what she feels like saying. Its the truth! You have to put in the effort to fail.
Professor Wolff is a great instructor for n173. Very organized, well- put together notes and slides. The info she teaches is on the exam. I did not have her for clinical, but I heard she is very tough on the paperwork for clinicals. For the class you will love her though.
She is passionate and really cares about the kids and students. Her detailed feedback helped me improve my Nandas. She will go the extra mile to help however she can.
Prof Wolf works hard and you can tell she cares. She does whatever she can to help you. This is not an easy class but I felt very supported. This is one of the best classes that I have taken.
I took Wolff fall 2020. This class is only offered in 8 weeks. It's a lot of reading to accompany homework. Wolff gave great feedback and was very considerate, pushing due dates back so students can get full credit. I recommend taking Wolff for this class, she was great!
Professor Wolff was great. If you listen you listen to her instructions and do the work you will get an A in the class, while learning a lot! You have to actively try to do poorly in her class. She is very direct with her feedback and she strives to help you do the best you can in her class.
Loved this class! I learned so much. The assignments while time consuming really helped me learn. Prof Wolf is very caring. She gives really good feedback that helps you get a good score on your next papers. She is good about getting back to you right away if you send a message.
Prof Wolf is thorough, organized and has very good materials to help you learn. I appreciated all of the different things she had - notes, videos / websites, recorded lectures and slides. She works hard for her students. It is not easy, but I learned alot in her class
She really tries to help students succeed. She gives lots of feedback and encouragement. Canvas is organized. Once I got used to the sections, it was easy to find what I am looking for.
Her canvas site is organized and easy to use. She explains assignment requirements very well. The details helped me know what to do and how to earn points. Prof. Wolf responds quickly to messages. Her feedback is the best I have gotten in any class. If you do the work and follow the instructions, it is not that hard to do well.
I learned alot in this class. I appreciate all the feedback and support. She is passionate about pediatrics. One of the best I have had so far!
honestly a lot of work for just a 1.5 unit class, more than a science class imo. key terms took so long but i spaced it to do over time so i was fine. tests were open book and untimed but that just meant u had to search the book for the answers. quizlet wont save you for the tests but at least the tests were not a majority of the grade.
Great class. Prof gives great feedback and really wants students to succeed. Assignments helped me learn a lot about development.
Had her for development class before and thought she was a caring professor. Not sure what happened, but it was the opposite during n173. In class time was not actual lectures and consisted of time consuming group activities that were not helpful. Email responses were very passive agressive. Very demeaning to students in clinicals.
Very knowledgeable about peds. The slides and notes were really helpful. I learned so much in this class. Prof Wolfe was approachable and easy to talk to when I had questions.
The N161 class is SO much work. I am a nursing student, and this class was more work than any of my other core nursing classes. Every week there is a "key topic" which consists of around 20 pages of docs to fill out, along with a discussion board and an exam. Prof Wolff was helpful and responsive but the amount of work in this class was excessive.
She responded quickly to my questions. Her feedback helped me get more points on similar assignments. The key topics were doable if you did them a little at a time.
This class had a ridiculous amount of homework for just being a 1.5 unit class and should be 5 unit class. This class is not hard, but it is time consuming especially the key topics. I recommend not doing key topics last minute because you will run out of time and pace yourself. Easy grader on discussion posts.
Prof Wolff works hard to make the most of clinical experiences. I appreciated her help with learning more about normal development and what to assess. She gives good feedback on papers. She shows that she cares about your learning.
Professor wolfs online class was well set up and easy to maneuver for any skill level. Most important thing is that there is SO MUCH homework for a 1.5 unit course; In my opinion I would not take this professor again unfortunately she is the only one who offers this course. Ridiculous amount of work, should re-evaluate her course work for sure.
This course moved at a quick pace, which is typical for summer classses. Despite the demanding workload, I believe that maintaining diligence in managing assignments will lead to excellent results. Professor Wolff was exceptionally supportive, consistently offering positive feedback and clear guidelines. I thoroughly appreciated her class.
You have a discussion board which mind you takes a good amount of time plus you have to cite and on your comments cite as well. You have key topic assignments which take absolutely forever there no joke about 25 pages long... and an exam every week. Its not fair for a 1.5 unit class does she not realize others are taking other classes and working ?
The amount of work Wolff expects for a 1.5 credit hour class is absolutely preposterous. The assignments are painfully focused around endless busy work. This class takes up more of my time than other 4 credit hour classes. All she cares about is that everything that you submit is in whatever over specific format she has created.
DON'T TAKE HER. There is way too much work for a 1.5 class, and I'm not usually someone to complain. I care deeply about my grades. She deducts points for no reason. I spend so much time on assignments; she always has something she could deduct. I was honestly shocked. I'll take this class at Irvine College if I have to before retaking her.
I learned a lot in this class. Prof gives really good feedback and I can tell she wants to help us. I think the grading is very fair - you just need to be sure to read all of the instructions to know what she is looking for. The key terms are time consuming but they were really helpful. I found them fun to write once I got used to how to do them.
Class is well organized. I liked the 2 week modules. Feedback was amazing! It really helped me know what to do better. Key topics were long but they did really help me learn the info in the class.
She makes you do these key topic thingys which is short stories with the vocab words which usually has about 20-28 of them but there is 1a,1b,1c, etc. and its the most time consuming assignment ever. It is all busy work, no quizlets on the topics are anywhere, harsh grader, tests are hard, just wasn't a fan of this class.
Professor Wolff assigns a lot of work for a class worth not a lot of credits but she is there to support you throughout. She gives you a bonus point if you submit work 24 hrs before the deadline which is a great incentive. She provides amazing feedback on assignments and allows you to use outside resources during the exams. I definitely recommend.
Professor Wolff was extremely caring and gives many chances. I was so close to ending with a B because I had a problem of submitting my assignments late but she gave me so many chances although the late work penalties were clear on the syllabus. Her slideshows are easy to understand and fun to go through. She also has a fun project at the end!
She explains why I would get the grade I got. The feedback helped because she pointed out things I didnt notice if I left things out such as the citations. This helped me look back to see what I could fix or add for the next assignment. The assignments were all helpful. The key topics taught me the most since it it covered the most material.
Prof Wolff is an outstanding educator who excels at promoting critical thinking and skill development. Her support and expertise in pediatrics have greatly enhanced my learning. While she sets high standards, her encouragement and guidance ensure that success is achievable with effort. Overall, learning from her has been an invaluable experience.
The Key topics were most helpful in understanding the course material because I had to apply what I learned and write hypothetical situations. The positive feedback very helpful to let me know that I was on the right track. It was rewarding and motivating to know that I was doing a good job. I appreciated the extra credit for submitting early too!
Loved this class. Prof Wolfe was very helpful and gave great feedback. The workload is reasonable and helps when taking the exam. I liked when we went over things as a group. She gives lots good feedback and practical info. I recommend this class.
Her class is very organized. If you follow her instructions, you should get a good grade. Her feedback really helped me make corrections. I could tell she really care. She is great about quick answers to questions.
So much tedious work for a 1.5-credit class. Very bureaucratic and picky, but always willing to help and had clear expectations. The Key Topics just ate up so much time.
She tells you what is needed to get a good grade. She gives really good feedback about what to fix which helps a lot. She responded very fast when I had questions.
Prof gave me helpful info which made a difference with my grade. She answered my questions faster than many of my other teachers
loved the class, prof was helpful with questions and helping me understand what i did wrong which helped me get better scores
SHE IS THE WORST!!!! SHE ASSIGNED THE WRONG HOMEWORK AND IS VERY DISORGANIZED. I TOOK HER CLASS ONLINE AND SHE ASSIGNS WAY TO MUCH HOMEWORK FOR A CLASS WORTH 1.5 CREDITS. IT REQUIRES CITATIONS FOR LITERALLY EVERYTHING YOU WRITE AND GIVES LIKE 50+ QUESTIONS FOR EACH ASSIGNMENT. GOOD LUCK IF YOU ARE IN HER CLASS.
