Reads straight from the book for lectures. She's not very clear what you have to know for each of her exams. Only says know everything, this makes the class more difficult then it should be.
Doesn't know what she is talking about most of the time
Let me tell you, She does NOT know what she's doing. She reads the notes word-for-word off the slides, which are word-for-word from the book. So there's no point of even showing up to the class. She does not give a curve and her exams are really really hard, especially that she has problems explaning the material. So, Good Luck!! you need it. lol
She's a good teacher. It's her first year at U of D and Im glad I'm in her class. She is fair and knows what she is doing, I dont know who wrote the stuff about her above but she IS a good teacher.
She isn't a bad prof. How much can she honestly expalin biology? I see her as the one prof. that is actually trying to help her students in any way that she can. And if you print out the notes ahead of time, you can really pay attention in class. She's the best bio teacher I've ever had.
Andrzejak is a very nice and very helpful teacher. She started out the year reading notes word for word from a powerpoint presentation, but moved to lecturing which I found to be much more helpful. When she is actually lecturing, she seems to know the material much better. Other than the ministry of clarification over yonder, it was a good class.
Ever since Dr. Andrzejak has been lecturing to us instead of reading a dumb powerpoint, she has been a pretty good teacher. Considering this was her first year of teaching, she has done a good job. There is no homework for the class or quizzes or projects. Just 4 exams a year that each count for 1/4 of your grade.Easy if you can memerize stuff.
There are four exams, including the final in this class. She is no that bad, but defintely no the most interesting lecturer. It is hard to follow her unless you read the book twice. She does not cover that much details, and the tests are bascially your notes. Tries to help, and has multiple choice tests!
She is very boring. She is not every good at answering students questions insode of class.
She is a great teacher. She is encouraging, helpful, and really tries to make sure that everyone understands what she is teaching. For anatomy she lectured right from the book and taught her material well.
Take good notes and memorize them. I didnt even buy a text book.
BEST PROFFESSOR! If you get lower than a B in her class, you don't belong in college. She's straight forward, everything comes from her notes. No games, no tricks. Study the notes, whether you took them yourself, or had someone else send them to you. STUDY THEM! Don't even bother with the book. Too expensive and mostly useless.
she is the most helpful professor i've had thus far. Everything she says is from the book... all i did was highlight my book, and i was set. if you ask for help, she will follow through, in class or at office hours. i would take any class taught by her.
She is a great teacher. Everything is from the book so you can follow along more easily, she uses pictures while she is lecturing so you can see what she is talking about. Her tests are not easy but they are bareable. She is a patient teacher and very easy to talk to.
She was cool and I liked her class, very funny and welcoming to such a big lecture class
She was nice but needs to be clearer and explain everything she teaches better. Needs to use more visuals
Needs to explain everything better. Class was a waste of time but you need it.
She is SO boring... talks in a monotone, mean when "stupid" questions are asked - NOT organized... errors on exam FREQUENTLY.
she's the best! i was bearly passing oteinbreits class first semester and switched to her 2nd semester and recieved an 96% teachers really do make a world of difference. what she says in class is on the exams, no guessing like in oteinbriets where one of he's 1000's of power points is fair game.
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR GRADES!after 3 months of bugging her, and my advisor, she finally double checked it and i went from having a D- to a B+
the only stuff that is on the exams is what she covers in class. the textbook is never used in class even tho it helps me study for her exams. the class average on most of the exams is around 70% but if you study an actually take the class seriously then you should have no problem. there is also no homework so you have to do good on exams!
Everything on notes is on test. Test questions are sometimes really vague and poorly worded so take your time. Really nice lady though.
I had a fantastic experience in this class. If you had a question she was always willing to help. She had a pleasing personality as well. Most of the information was in the workbook or in her notes. Her tests were fair, and the only time there was a problem was when one of the other lab teachers would mess with the exams last minute.
Everything on the exam is from the notes you write in class. So just study your notes really well and you'll get an A in the class! No need to buy a textbook, unless you want clarification on something. She explains things really well, but sometimes she talks really fast and you have no idea what she's saying.
her class is tough because the notes are so lengthy, sometimes she can confuse herself and confuse the whole class thats the worst part. attend class and be awake and copy notes, otherwise u will not do good.
If you plan on attending class everyday and taking notes the exact way she says them, you'll be fine. She barely goes into detail on anything and her tests are exactly from the notes. Also, she doesn't try and trick you with her wording-very straight forward teacher.
She was a great prof! Expects a lot out of you because it's college now kids. GROW UP! Exams are entirely from her notes!! MEMORIZE THEM AND YOU WILL BE FINE!
Lab was organized. NOT an easy A, but if you work hard you will be fine. I got an A because I was organized and studied.
My favorite biology prof at UDM!
Dr. A goes beyond the level of a regular "professor." She always wants to help, and can always tell if you're having an off day and want to talk. Her exams are straightforward, (memorize your notes!) Highly recommend taking her.
Ahh! She's so spunky and happy all the time, and cracks a lot of jokes during lecture which keeps the class awake. Loved her. If you just write down everything she says you will be good. If you don't get an A in this class, something is wrong with you..it's so easy. She also cares a lot about her students.
She is a very lively person and always keeps you awake. She really loves what she does so she puts a lot of effort into each class. She is probably the best biology teacher you can take.
My favorite teacher at UDM. She's so much fun and knows her students. Take notes in every class and study them exactly. MEMORIZE!!! I had her both semesters of gen bio 1 and i got 100 percent on 4 of her 8 total exams. Don't need to textbook you can google things ;). Ecams are straight from her notes
She's a super nice teacher, pretty funny, and her tests are easy if you study the notes. I would highly suggest you take her for a biology course!
Greatest teacher ever. Super easy class if you attend every lecture and take notes. Tests are based completely on notes so you dont even need the book. She is very quirky so listening to her is easy and she knows what she's talking about. I love biology because of her and I am planning to take her again if I can in the future.
Amazing teacher! Andrzejak's exams are exactly what she talks about in lecture. If you go to class you will probably get an A.
Dr. Andrzejak was very passionate and knowledgable about the subject at hand. She gave her lectures verbally so be prepared to take good notes. She is careful to only put questions on the test from the notes. The book is optional for this course, I used it but very few people did.
No sympathy for students, had her last year
Do not recommend at all, she makes gen bio complicated
There really is nothing else to bio except memorization. If you have friends, you don't really have to go to class everyday just make sure you have the notes.
The lectures are given in a way that is very "note-taking-friendly"., which is great because your grade will basically be dependent upon the notes you take. You don't want to miss any of her lectures. She's very understanding in regards to absences though.
Lectures at a blazing pace. Seems annoyed sometimes when students ask questions while shes talking. Many in class struggle to take notes keeping up with her lectures. No surprises on exams, pretty straight forward. Study the book and you'll pass.
Dr. Andrzejak cares a lot about her students. She is an incredibly sweet person that is funny and genuinely loves biology. She just gets a little too lecture heavy that can make general biology hard. Study hard for the tests, they are worded a little odd, but make sure you understand the information and memorize your notes.
So easy to understand! Very well-paced lectures. Exams were based heavily off of the notes so as long as you go to lecture and take notes, studying isn't that bad.
I love her. Super nice, amazing at lectures however the exams required a little more effort when studying to get a good grade.
Super sweet always willing to take time out of her day to talk to you if you are confused about what is going on in lecture. Exams are a little tough but doable
I had to take her during my first semester of freshman year. She is amazing with er lecture and hilarious with her jokes. Sometimes she just rushes while dictating the notes, but you can try recording her lecture in that case. Her exams are also from the notes, so you should not have trouble if you are thorough with her notes.
I took this class as a Freshman and the workload was overcoming. She throws a ton of notes at you and tells you it's all fair game for the exams. Also, she doesnt go over the questions of difficulty. Every day after her class my hand was cramped because all we did was take notes. You basically have to study for the class on your own and often.
Dr. Andrzejak was a great professor. To get an A just study her notes every day. Personally, I memorized them for a few days leading up to the test and did not get below an A. She is lecture heavy, and if you have her in the morning you will experience bouts of sleepiness sometimes. Other than that, she is extremely caring and funny.
Dr. Andrzejak is the best professor at UDM. Her lectures are very clear and she always repeats herself so you can catch everything she says as you take notes. I personally recorded the lectures and wrote them later word for word which helped me get a deeper understanding of her lectures. You would still be fine if you simply took notes in class tho
Dr. A is a really good professor. It is obvious she knows everything about bio. The class can get boring but she throws jokes in here and there. She also cares alot for her students making sure you get the important stuff down for notes. You have to study alot, I made sure to memorize my notes after every lecture. Study hard and you'll do good.
The class did get very boring and repetitive. It was the same routine every day. Exams were quite hard and I found the wording tricky. Gen Bio 1 is very complicated, she had a hard time explaining things in a simple way for students to understand it. It felt like I was memorizing without understanding.
Very very inconsiderate in regarding to boosting or rounding your grade. Her exams are somewhat challenging and her lectures are very long and sometimes tricky. She does help but just inconsiderate about rounding.
Dr.A is such a wonderful professor! I'm not sure at all what the other reviews are saying. I had her online for Gen Bio 1 Lecture, and she consistently emphasized asking questions and explains things in such a simple manner! If you're READY to learn and WANT to pass the class, take her. Don't listen to the ppl upset about not passing. Easy A class.
I loved how her lectures were pre-recorded, giving me the chance to get work done in my own time. They were boring though. Exams were a bit challenging, but weekly quizzes were given to strengthen your grade. I do wish she had given assignments for more points.
All of the PowerPoints were prerecorded and uploaded online, so going to class was a waste of time. Shes a nice professor, but the class was boring and she often ended class 30 mins early. The exams are based on the notes, but she does throw in a couple of hard questions. Its not hard to get an A if you study.
Her lectures were on recorded pp which i really liked. The way she teaches is fine even on the zooms but make sure you ask your questions during the zoom bc if you have a question and you email her expect to wait 7-8 business months for her to answer. I really liked her lectures the way she taught but even when she answers its shortunclearrude.
Dr. Andrzejak is a nice and funny person, but I did not really like her class. She posted PowerPoints that had all the notes which is good in case you missed something, but the amount of notes were way to much. It was hard trying to take her notes and keep up in my other class. The PPs also made it kind of pointless to show up to class.
Dr. Andrzejak is the sweetest lady you'll ever meet. She actually cares for her students unlike other profs at UDM. If you're having trouble with something, just go up and ask, she's very understanding. I would highly recommend taking her. the only downside is that she tends to not answer her email but if you go talk in person, She's very helpful
I wouldn't recommend that ANYONE take bio with Andrzejak, especially online! Her exams were unnecessarily difficult, and didn't reflect the material taught during lectures. Lectures are recorded, and PowerPoints are provided, but neither help with exams. Weekly quizzes are easier, but still dont reflect exam material. Save yourself the experience..
her first time teaching cell & molec and its horrible. Her exams are soooooo hard, nothing like what we learn. You will waste ur time studying her slides tbh. Half the class is failing and dropping the course. VERY VERY HARD COURSE
Don't take her for Cell and Molec. I swear I have never in my life felt so frustrated with a course or a professor. You're graded on 5, 100 point exams and 10, 5 point outlines. This leaves ZERO room for error on exams that she makes absolutely impossible. I studied a ridiculous amount and got OK exam grades and there no way I can break a C+/B-.
Her lectures are just her reading off of a powerpoint, which is also what the exams are based off of. There were weekly quizzes based off the notes which were taken at home, but the exams were in person with a lockdown browser. She did offer a few extra credit opportunities as well. Overall a nice lady and wants her students to do well.
I enjoyed her class. Lectures consist of a power point. Take good notes bc anything mentioned in lectures is fair game for the exam. At home quizzes 1 a week; easy if you review your notes. Overall, a bit of work & time is needed to do well in the class, but Prof is super sweet, tries to make lectures entertaining, & she gives E.C. opportunities.
My favorite class. Would take again.
I love biology its one of my strongest subjects, but her class was really really hard. She words her exams really hard. It could be a simple question but she makes them really hard. Her class was nice though you sit and take notes. She's a nice lady and gave out a lot of extra credit and cares about her students but just wasn't the class for me.
Dr. A knows her stuff!Shes nice but sometimes goes super fast during lectures.U get to drop 4 quizzes that are taken online at home.Exams could be easier and more like the lectures but if u study the PowerPoints u will be fine. She sometimes gave e.c.Exams are taken online in person via lockdown browser. If u like learning from PowerPoints take her.
Dr. A is such a nice and funny lady! She teaches from powerpoints that are easy to follow. Her exams reflect the notes very well and I thought they were pretty easy. We have open note quizzes every week and a total of 4 exams. Really doable if you keep up with your notes! She also offers extra credit. I will continue to take her.
Dr A was an amazing professor!! Her lectures are powerpoints and are easy to follow along. Exams are every few weeks and there were weekly quizzes online. The exams and quizzes are the only grades you'll have in the class but she does offer a few extra credit opportunities throughout the semester as well. 100% recommend taking her for gen bio!
(genbio1) All lectures are recorded online which is extremely helpful when studying for exams. There's no homework other than a weekly take-home, open-note quiz that you're basically guaranteed 100 on and will boost your grade. Make time to study every single day and you are guaranteed an A. Don't slack, there's so much content it piles up fast.
Very heavy on lectures, doesn't give practice to be prepared for the exam, the only practice is given are quizzes but don't reflect the exam as applications were added in exams. The material is easy, quizzes are easy, but when it comes to the exam, it would be a whole different thing, It could be an easy question she makes it 10x harder.
So glad to have Dr. Andrzejak as my first science professor at UDM. She makes everything clear and makes sure you understand the material. Your grade is based off online quizzes and in person exams. YOU MUST STUDY TO DO GOOD. She posts her lectures which makes studying a lot easier. If you study beforehand, the exams are not difficult. I recommend!
Very Nice lady. But your grade is mostly based off the exams.
exams were very confusing, i love her she is so funny and interesting but her class is more difficult than it should be. she gives 4 exams that you need to study all the notes for yet somehow you still might not pass because the wording on these exams is impossible.
Professor Andrzejak sounded like a nice mother, not professor. 5 easy online-open note quizzes and 4 exams made up your entire grade. The quizzes did not reflect the in-depthness and advanced tone of the questions on the exam. The slides were confusing and hard to pinpoint what would be tested and what wouldn't be. Days of studying got me a C
very confusing exams. Nothing on quizzes or slides is similar to what's on the exams. graded by very few things. She is hilarious and makes class enjoyable, but I wish she was more clear and taught better because she truly is great to be around.
She was nice but there were 5 exams and 1 was dropped however we took 2 on the day of the final. I would study for days her powerpoints and my notes from class and still get a 70-80 on the exams. She made the questions about the smallest details. Quizzes barley helped and No EC or Curves. If you have to take her be prepared to study for days.
I took Dr. A for evolution. If u go to class, you'll do good bc her exams are copy and paste from her ppt notes. I believe she did curve at the end. She's very paranoid about cheating and every exam she was super strict on seating & lockdown browser. The class was pretty chill and she's a sweet professor but sometimes she can be passive aggressive
beware she tries to act nice but her exams are ruthless, her technique of teaching and exam material screams incompetence. As a straight A student, and the majority of the class would agree if your studying for weeks on an exam and to still fail show cases how inconsiderate this professor is. she is very passive aggressive and clearly doesn't care.
I was nervous to take Dr. Andrzejak after hearing how "bad" she is, but everyone complaining about her just want to be spoon fed the answers bc she was not bad at all. Grading was 4 exams with a few assignments. If you study her powerpoints and attend class, you will be perfectly fine. She can sound slightly passive agressive, but she is kind
This professor is nice, but can be passive-aggressive. I ended with an A and rarely went to class. The most important things are the exams, which can be annoying, but she does curve and give extra credit.
