M. Beard is pretty damned great at explaining formulas and other concepts in mathematics. She works hard to make sure her students understand the material and is always willing to give that extra amount of attention to make sure her students succeed. If you don't get at least a B in her class, you aren't trying at all.

I am definitely not an algebra nerd, but Ms. Beard was very helpful and explained the concepts clearly. The class was challenging, but she made it bearable.

I think Mrs. Beard is a great teacher. She's clear and goes slow, sometimes I thought she went a little too slow but people understood and that's what matters. HW isn't due until the test day which gives you plenty of time to seak help if you need to. She's always open to questions and explaing things as many times as she has to!

Ms. Beard explained things clearly, step by step, which I found helpful for a college Algebra class. She encourages students to ask questions.

I know that a lot of people don't get algebra but she will try to help you. She wants you to ask if you don't get it. She will give you extra time if you need it for the test, if you are really looking like your interested in learning then she will give her time.

Tries to keep students at the same level. She was helpfull. I didnt pass I think because her tests were really hard. Better be ready!

I took her over the summer. I thought that she layed everything out and explained it well. Not an easy A but you really do learn something.

Mrs.Beard made math interesting for me. I've struggled with math since high school because of crummy teachers and bad attendance, but I didn't miss one day of this class because I knew I was developing a good foundation for higher math classes. Mrs.Beard explains everything very clearly and she doesn't rush through things. Excellent instructor!

very easy class as long as you show up and do most homework on line. tests arent too easy, but if you do the homework you should pass the test. easy a or b.

Most amazing math teacher i have ever had. She is very clear, and EXTREMELY helpful. if you struggle in this class, it is your own fault. She provides many opportunities for help, and tutoring. I have never been good at math (rarely did i ever get above a c) but I got an A+ in her class. She is amazing.

No joke take this teacher, I had a time learning everything for Math V04 and didnt end up passing with her but I am and will be taking with her again. She helps get study groups going, meets with students after you office hours and is understand to what we all go threw in life. She cracks jokes and is honest but professonal. TAKE HER FOR MATH!!!!

Great teacher, Probably the best i've ever had, she makes the material super easy, gets study groups together, and does anything to help, i took this class at 8:30 am, definitely wakes you up. highly recommend sitting closer to the front. Really lively, does give you a 5-10 minute break which does come in handy. TAKE HER!

There are 9 chapter tests and homework is collected on test days. She gives the option of doing the hw online or by hand. I highly recommend her to anyone.

Take her! She is very helpful and clear, explains everything and is has a good sense of humor. Homework was online but it actually was very helpful. Let's you use notes on most tests, and even helps you during tests. Gives extra credit assignment before every test. Great teacher!

I took Wilde, and Perry and had to drop both. Beard is amazing and totally helped me to understand Trig. It is a very hard subject, and class but she really helped to explain things and took extra time if needed. She's also very nice (and funny). The hour goes by very fast in her class because you get a lot done. I definitely recommend her!!

Beard is a great professor. She was always willing to help me and always had a smile on! I had to drop even though I spent hours a week in the tutoring center, her office, and her study sessions. Its a difficult class but you got to study everyday.I just wish she offered extra credit to someone like me who put so much effort in the class.

by far my most favorite math teacher at VC so far. im one of those people that cringes when they see an equation with a fraction but Michelle was so clear and really fun to listen to. always so energetic. shes a great teacher i recommend her for any math class she teaches!

For sure a smart ass. She says unnecessary comments (that aren't related to math) to put people on the spot. She can be so rude, bad trait to have. She spent literally 20 min. on the last section of a chap. and we had an exam the following week. Had to seek a tutor. Other than that time she did explain well, doesn't use the book at all!

I'm 50 years old, and I finally understand math! She explains things very clearly and in multiple different ways so that everyone can understand. She has a good sense of humor, which makes class more enjoyable. She gives easy extra credit ops. If you take this class, do the HW and ask questions when you don't understand things, you'll do well.

Mrs. Beard was truely an amazing professor! She really cares about her strudents and wants everyone to succeed. She lets you have a sheet of notes for each test as long as you have no examples on it. She does keep attendance but that shouldnt be a big deal seeing as you should be in class to understand the material. Very bubbly and nice! Take her!!

When instructing the class Mrs. Beard has a very personable approach. I've seen her assisting everyone willing to ask for help. Offers extra credit. Explains herself pretty concisely and encourages students suggestions to reword her instructions for better memorization. Uses "MathLab" for homework. I would enroll in future courses she instructs.

I am not a math type person and usually struggle with it; however, Michelle was very patient and took her time in explaining everything. I did better than I have done in a math course in a very long time. More importantly, I feel like I learned something and better understand things I previously didn't. RECOMMEND

Very bubbly personality! I am one of those people that dreads Math, however I found her to be one of the best teachers I've ever had. She is extremely thorough and even if you don't speak up much like me (although you should), you will understand if you pay attention. You will use your book about 95 percent of the time. Do the homework, it helps!

The instructor is very clear with the lectures and goes step by step throughout the problems. She really does care about your grade and will help you out as much as she can to help you understand the material, so you are able to do homework correctly. There is a lot of extra credit opportunities throughout the semester and they are easy to do.

Mrs. Beard is very nice and has a knack for teaching in a way that works for me. She explains things very clearly and won't get annoyed if questions are asked multiple times. After getting one of the tests back, i stayed a little later just to correct one of the problems to make sure i got it. She seemed a tiny bit annoyed. Overall, good class.

She wants to be clear. Gives some good examples with real life events and explain how are those related with the lecture. If something is not clear for somebody the person is free to ask and she will explain it again.

Ms. Beard is a really sweet teacher, she very genuine and kind. She will try to make math as clear as possible and at times will over-explain simple steps. She will try to help you as much as possible, she responds to your emails quick. I would take her again and recommend her. You don't need to buy a textbook.

She's a great teacher, will help whenever it's needed especially because it was a hybrid class (in classonline) and also responds to emails quickly. She's extremely clear & well organized. Had handouts for almost every section wstep by step instructions which she also went through in detail. She allows a cheat sheet for tests which I found extremely helpful. The subject matter is tough enough without 100% accuracy of memorizing every formula. Funny & responds quickly to e-mails & questions.

You'll love Mrs. Beard, first off, we had all of our homework online, so you won't need an in-class textbook, she makes math fun honestly. She'll make you play games, get to know your classmates with classwork. I'll admit math is my weakest subject, but she made me interested and try. Conclusion: you'll be happy if you get her as your teacher.

She's available outside class via email and office hours. Lectures are fun, engaging and easy to understand. Goes step-by-step and answers all your questions. Really cares & wants you to succeed! I loved Michelle. She liked to make sure you understood math. It is my strong suit so I didn't like how much she would repeat herself sometimes, but loved that she would do it for those that did not understand. Great prof. especially if math is not your strong point she will stop and help you and find a way to help you understand.

I saw earlier reviews that commented on her sense of humor, I actually thought she was really funny and that added to the overall engagement of the class. It made long days "fun".

Very helpful and very understanding. Lectures were never boring. Its an easy class and she is a fantastic teacher. Really need to ask questions if you want the help. She is very funny and friendly. In my opinion she is very understanding and when having questions about the material she is a person you feel comfortable to approach.

Professor Beard is a really nice and caring person! But this class is a tough one. She does do her best to answer any questions. One issue I had was during lecture she would explain really simple problems, and come the in class work it would have a problem i have no idea how to solve. If you are good at fast paced math then you should have no prob!

Truly cares for all her students and wants them to succeed. In a 4 week class, she would make sure to stay after class for over an hour to make sure she answered every last question. Couldn't recommend her class more!

Professor Beard is amazing. Her lectures and teaching are rare; few professors seriously spend the time to teach their students and care about their learning outcome. Professor Beard does expect her students to work, and to put in that time and effort to learn, but she will definitely help and teach her students what is expected of them.

Professor Beard was one of the easiest and best professors I've taken math with. I took three classes with her, and each time, I ended up with a B or higher. She is super sweet, and if you aren't participating or doing any work, she checks up on you to make sure everything is okay. I definitely would recommend her!

I usually hate math and want nothing to do with it but Beard made it fun. If you actually care about your education and are not a slacker I highly recommend taking her class. Her lectures are very informative yet fun if she taught BUS calc I would have taken Beard again. Homework at the time seemed like a lot but is about the same as BUS calc.

If you want your professor that cares about your learning she is the one to go to! She will give you advice and show you techniques so you succeed.

Shes really nice and focuses on making sure you understand what youre doing. You have to watch a video first and then do the homework and an activity every week. Theres a quiz once every two weeks and she gives a lot of opportunities to get good scores and you can retake the quizzes. You can easily pass this test with putting in the work.

Whoever thought Algebra could be fun! Well, I'm here to say Mrs. Beard makes it fun. Her positive outlook and sense of humor make this difficult class a positive experience. She's supportive and kind and goes the extra mile. Plenty of extra credit opportunities exist. David, the tutor, is also awesome. Just do the work, and you'll pass.

Professor Beard is an amazing professor. I was taking a hybrid class meeting once a week, however I did not watch any videos she posted online. I barely passed with a B, if you want to pass I suggest asking lots of questions and watching videos posted! Homework is easy as you can retry until given full credit, watch out for the activities everyweek

She really is a good professor, however it is math so you will need to study. I am normally good at math but slacked off a bit into the semester leading me to end with a low B. She is a great professor you just need to put effort into your work. Cheat sheets are allowed ! EC too.

Great professor! Math is not my strong suit, I finally passed it with her class. She is great at explaining and was always ready to assist. She will meet you halfway as long as you put in the effort, even when I missed a lecture she provided videos on the material that were actually helpful.
