This is the second time I am taking this course. I withdrew the last time with a 74 average. I now have a 87 average with Ms. Beerman. The teaching sure does make a world of difference! They have to teach it so you can understand it and Ms. Beerman does!
shes rlly nice... teaches rlly well
I enjoyed the class, and she made it easy to understand.
I am not much of a math person but Ms. Beermann made me somewhat able to understand the content. I wouldn't take her class if you aren't a master of math.
Made a few unprofessional comments during class. If you don't know the content before going in, your not gonna learn it coming out.

She's a nice teacher.
Sweet Lady, seems to care whether or not you pass or not! Gives xtra credit, sometimes : )
She wukk get on your nerves at first cuz she teaches likes shes teaching Kindergarden.. but shes really good!
There isn't enough interaction
she acts like we should know everything already and seems disappointed when students ask questions. doesnt seem to care whether a student passes or not and makes very difficult tests
A good teacher. Her tests were pretty easy, and she takes the time to explain the concepts well.
She was willing to help and answer questions. However, when she tells us that everyone is flunking the quizzes and no one is doing well, I have to wonder what is wrong with this picture.
Acts as if you should be real familar w/ material. Seems to be bothered if you ask a question. Prefers if you ask questions 10-15 min b4 claa. Tells you how the class is doing in general (failing test's) makes you kind of wonder.
great teacher loves and cares about her students. wants you to know and understand whats going on. she is very helpful. if you are not so great at math take her class you will get a good grade.
She is too much math happy fopr me. However, she was very helpful. I thought the test were hard. I knew the work at home hoever when I did the test, I forgot how to do it. I guess if you like math, she is a good teacher
She is SO helpful. I took the class with 2 other professors and never got it but her methd tsught me the material
Very sweet lady. Class is a bit difficult but nothing a little hardwork can't handle. Test however are open notes basically. She lets you write notes on a 4x6 index card and use it on a test. Definitely a big help. Enjoyed the class.
i love her! shes been my fav. so far for a math teacher. extremly helpful!!!!
I really liked Miss Beermann. "nice" is an understatement. she doesn't like talking in class but other than that she's not strict at all. she usually goes very slow and has a lot of patience. not much required homework, just take notes and its easy.
This professor doesn't go over the chapter she goes straight into problems. She gives you an example to complete & she fumbles it and uses the excuse that she's sick, or she wasn't thinking that way. The students are always correcting her mistakes. The material is hard enough without a teacher who doesn't know what she's doing.
This professor needs to find a new line of work. She is not clear in her instruction. She makes constant mistakes that is being corrected by the student. No one in the class is passing with the exception of her friend. This person needs to be evaluated properly. She should be held responsible for the students that dropped her class and/or failed.
Out of the entire class only one person got a 92 on her test and this was her friend. She seems like a nice person but she SUCKS as a teacher. A new carrer option is her best bet. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU WANT TO PASS.
This professor does not want us using a calculator but she uses it in class. She makes to many mistakes and is corrected by the students. She confuses everyone when saying things because she mixed something up. We are all human BUT, she is making it very difficult to grasp a concept if she is doing the work wrong. GET IT TOGETHER.
I can't stand math, but it's difficult not to like Beermann. She is passionate about math, and that makes for a good professor. Her classes are stupidly long though; I wish she would teach standard class hours
Mrs.Beermann seems to be a nice woman BUT her teaching skills needs work. She makes many mistakes while completing an example and the students are the ones correcting her. AND NO THIS IS NOT A TESCHING TECHNIQUE THAT SHE USES. She needs to STOP confusing people. Math is hard enough without having a professor that confuses you even more.
She is the worst professor I've ever had she needs psychological eval. She gives you a 2hr test for a 1hr10min class. Gives you problems on the test she did not teach, what is wrong with this picture! And to top it all off she never feels good and makes so may mistakes. Just when you think you get it, oops! she made a mistake. Now I ask QUESTIONS.
I AM OVER IT. I have tried and am in the math lab up to 6-7hrs a day studing. This professor should not be a professor. This professor says not to worry about certain areas and what you didn't cover shows up on the test. IF YOU DIDN'T COVER IT HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO GET IT RIGHT. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.
She is one of the best teachers there is. I am NOT good at math at ALL, but she helped me learn it. Granted she makes mistakes, we all do, and she is human like everyone else. She lets you use a notecard on the test so it is hard to fail them! If you are bad at math, I def. recommend this teacher! (Ignore the comments below as well) :)
I had no problem with Professor Beermann. She let us use a 4x6 index card on tests, gives extra credit and gives plenty of time to take tests. I just finished a six week class with her and I got an A! It was hard work, but she helps you along the way. She's a great teacher and I highly recommend her. She is also very sweet.
I thought Beerman was a great teacher. She seems to love what she does. Yes, she does speak to you like you're five years old, she makes a lot of mistakes, and sometimes she makes you feel silly for not understanding something, but she's VERY sweet and kind. She absolutely does care about her students. I would never say a bad thing about her.
Taught chapters way to fast, skips straight to the homework after showing only one or two examples. Assigns to many chapters per test. To much to try to capture and actually remember. She's a very nice lady, just not a very good teacher.
If you want to be doing homework at every given hour of the day.. if you want to FAIL her class when you try SOOO hard.. then take Beerman.. She is byfar the worst teacher I have ever taken in my life. I failed her class and retook it over summer(which is only six weeks long) and recieved an A!!!!! DO NOT TAKE!
DO NOT TAKE this professor, I am in her class now, she speaks to you like you are 5, assigns soooo much homework (with the excuse practice makes u understand it) how are u supposed to understand it when she spends one class a section whether u get it or not!? Doesn't give you enough time to take tests and then makes you wait a week for the results
Class is hard but I do learn. Teacher tends to treat students like they are in kindergarden.
I didn't have any interest in math prior to taking her class. She is very helpful and will help you after class if requested. I don't do well in algebra but she spends 1 class period each chapter but reviews previous chapters at beginning of class, allows questions. She is nice but does speak like she is teaching an elementary class. Will take again
Teacher absolutely loves math and it is very obvious in her teaching. She really does try to explain everything so you can understand it. She does give lots of homework but If you do the homework, and show up for every class you will pass. She offers to stay after and I noticed most of the ones failing never took her up on that. Math takes work!
Ok guys here we go.....at first this teacher seems like shes incredibly nice somewhat overly nice.....upon meeting her after class i decided that she is a demon sent here from hell. I stopped her in the middle of the hallway to talk to her about something and she yelled at me beecause she said she was late.
Incredible math class. She takes a very nice approach to math. The pace of the work and homework is very flexible and easy. She stays after to help with people with questions. She talks to the class like kindergardners but that actually made math seem a lot less intimidating. She is understanding and slow paced.Stress level in this class was Zero.=)
Ms. Beermann I a very nice lady; however, she gives way too much homework for someone who isn't only taking her class. This class requires A LOT of time. I wouldn't recommened it, if you are taking more than one class. I was taking 4 classes and had to drop 1 just to keep up with the homework. Also, dont miss class!!!
She was so helpful. I needed a b to graduate this semster and with all her help after class, i am graduating!! Totally recommend her for ease, and stress free math.
This class is ridiculous amounts of homework, constantly behind in chapters, a professor that belittles you, and tests that are MUCH harder than ANY of the homework. I would absolutely never recommend this professor to anyone. I took this class because of all the great ratings on here...those people must just be really nice people...and VERY wrong.
She goes really slow so she doesn't loose anyone. She's always willing to help with homework. Always looking to answer questions. She doesn't tolerate cell phone use! Perfect teacher in my opinion.
All around great teacher. If you apply yourself, you will get an A.
Grading Scale was skewed, 80% of your grade came from 4 test throughout the semester. Very tough class. The teacher was also very difficult to work with at times, especially if you were late or missed a class.
Stay away, Very sweet lady, Math teacher not so much. TONS and TONS of HW and only goes over a problem one time and expects you to know the material.
Horrible teacher. She speaks to her classes like she is an elementary school teacher. Every class before a test she happened to be "sick." She barely covers the material and is not very helpful. I definitely do not recommend her to anybody.
Very nice teacher. The only way to really understand the work you are doing is to practice, so yes she does give a lot of homework. She ALWAYS ask each student if they have any questions. If you do not ask, you will not learn. I would recommend her to any student who is willing to apply themselves. Love this teacher
i love this woman, she has helping more than a teacher is required to. she does screw up the material every once and a while but shes only human. she does give a lot of homework but practice makes perfect and the book homework is extra credit. which can equal up to 5 points each test. great opportunity!!! love her!!!
I loved this lady! I have always had a block when it comes to math in all my academic years. People get all bent out of shape because shes "overly nice" but she truly is a nice, patience and helpful teacher. Shes prompt with emails and answers throughout class. I have now taken 2 classes with her because of her approach!
Ms.Beermann is alright. Taking her class just out of high school confused me, but I dealt with it and she is super sweet! I would recommend her, but just be patient
Wonderful teacher! I enjoyed her class. I really liked the fact we could bring in a note card to help on the test
I am terrible at math, and Professor Beermann was amazing! She taught in a way that I was able to understand everything. The content was not easy, and there was work, but she was ALWAYS willing to help!I would recommend her to anyone, and now want to go back and take many more MATH classes! She is awesome!
This was a hybrid class using mylabsplus. It was a fast paced course but easily manageable as long as you put in the time. She is very helpful and willing to meet with you during or after class as needed.
Find a different professor. Wish I had listened to the warnings of others. Very nice person, but not a great teacher.
Professor Beermann is a nice lady, but not a fantastic math teacher. I took M.L.A. 1 before College Algebra to get my brain going again with math, but I basically taught myself 90% of the time with the book. 6 tests, lowest one is dropped, along with MyMathLab HW. If attendance wasn't mandatory, I wouldn't show since her lectures do nothing for me.
If you're someone who can't go five minutes without looking at Facebook on your phone, Ms. Beermann isn't the instructor for you. Volunteer to take notes with her smartpen, so she can upload the lectures for the lazy people who can't be bothered to show up to class on time, or at all. She's a little on the geeky side, in the most endearing way.
Had NO idea what i was getting myself into when i signed up to take intermediate math with Beermann. Assigns a ridiculous amount of homework, its almost impossible to complete all she asks you to do. Expects you to understand the chapter after working only a few problems, makes you feel stupid, gives way too much work, tests are way harder than hw.
Unless you're Albert Einstein, SWITCH PROFESSORS NOW! She assigns way too much homework because she doesn't teach at all. I had to self teach in order to do assignments the whole semester and still flunked her tests. I wish I would've switched while i had the chance, now i'm going to be stuck re taking this class for no reason!
Im taking her now and she is the absolute worst teacher iv had in my college years. If you like sarcasm 24/7 and a high pitch voice then thats the teacher for you. "QUESTIONS?" "NO OHKAY!" "YAY FRACTIONS" she is super annoying and expects us to do 8 sections of extra credit for her to just pick any random two she wants on the test day. STAY AWAY!!!
I am currently taking professor Beermann, and at first I liked her but now my mind has changed. Her class is super fast paced along with tons of homework. She is expecting us to watch a pencast and teach ourselves that material before our next test because she cancelled class for a whole week. Very unorganized and scatter brained. Don't recommend.
She has a nice personality but is VERY unorganized. Her teaching was too complex and she assigns way too much homework only for a 20-25 question test. The piles of homework she assigns is easy at times but she puts all the really hard equations on the test. Also, a no-show sometimes for classes & expects you to teach yourself. I don't recommend..
DO NOT TAKE ANY MATH CLASSES WITH MICHELLE BEERMANN.... This is your warning! So many students fail her class and waste their time and money. If a math class is a requirement DO NOT TAKE IT WITH HER.. She lacks terribly at teaching & always cancels class. It's not fair students fail due to her own problems and mistakes.
I wish i had listened to what people were saying on here before i took her int alg class. You end up teaching yourself the material bc she doesnt show up to class sometimes and it puts us back a week. She talks to us like we are children. When she is in class, she only goes over a few problems from the book. I barely passed the class. i got a 70.9.
You have to teach yourself. Everything is online. You come to the class to take quizes and ask any questions that YOU have encountered yourself, while TEACHING YOURSELF!! Math is a subject that needs to be taught in front of me , not through a virtual video. This class sucks. Oh and she speaks to you as if your a third grader.
She assigns way too much homework because she doesn't even teach. the tests are 10x harder than the homework (and doesn't even pertain to anything on the hw) so if you think your good at the chapter just by understanding the hw... well your in for a rude awakening.
If you need an actual teacher for math, I don't recommend this teacher. She never came to class and the tests did not equal up to how she teaches with in class examples. Because of her failure to teach, I now have to retake the class.
Makes the material easy to learn. She works mostly problems from the book and is very willing to do extra problems a student suggests or has trouble with. Online homework is a must and she gives extra credit from the text book. Uploads notes to canvas and and is very helpful and open to all student questions and concerns.
Had Ms. Beerman for math for liberal arts; I had no idea what the class was about. She was helpful, clear in her lectures and help was offered if needed. Answered all questions in class. Pay attention, take good notes and you will pass. There is and should be homework for any college course-homework assigned was not that much. Very nice professor!
She is a awesome instructor. She will help you and repeat similar problems to help you understand. Ask questions! She wants to see all her students excel. As long as you apply yourself you will pass.
She is a very nice person, and I can tell she cares, but she needs to work on being a better teacher.
Ms. Beermann is one of the best math teachers I have had. She only asks for small things, like don't take your cell phone out and talk during class. She does let you use it if you need to just go in the hall and do it. She gives extra credit and homework as usual. Her tests are only about 25 questions and are the same as homework problems.
horrible teacher
I had her last semester for my intermediate course and it was probably the worst class I've ever taken. Basically, you're on your own in this class as this professor is absent often, and when she is present she just teaches straight from the book anyway. Homework is mostly online, and there's lots of it.
Current in her class, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS! Gives a ton of homework. She even gives you homework on chapters that you won't be tested on. She also does not like to answer any questions that you have on homework. Makes NUMEROUS mistakes when she explains the math problem from the textbook. Half the class is always sleeping.
So far one of my favorite math teachers. She's literally a sweetheart, caring, and not intimidating at all and she knows it. I'm awful at math but I find the tests easy as long as you study the basics for them. Does not ask for much, show up and don't talk or use your phone. My Math Lab is ESSENTIAL and there's lots of it. But I'd take her again.
I would say she's a pretty nice but average teacher; if you have questions about what she taught in class or on homework she'll stay after class with you to help you out. She's really, really big on no phones though. Most of the homework is online, however she does put up additional questions to help with upcoming tests.
Very thorough but fast paced. Very strict. No extra credit. Holds you until the very last minute. Went to tutoring to learn material. Heavy on the homework. I would not take her again.
Overall a good professor. She answered questions I had during and outside of class and even gave me an extension on my homework when my computer died. She's helpful and caring but a little disorganized.
If you want the credit, don't take her. She barely knows what she's doing and continuously messes up the problems while working them. If you can teach yourself go for it.
She is a nice and caring person overall. Lots of homework that all has to be done online, and half the time you dont know when the homework will be due. She doesnt like to answer questions and is very fast paced. She doesnt explain the content very well, and assumes we will understand after a couple problems she works out.
She goes too fast. When you ask questions she makes you feel bad. She confuses and mixes up math problems.
When she is in class, I feel decently prepared. Lazy grader though, been well over a month and still dont know test 1 grade and we are going on the 3rd. I have never had a teacher miss class as much as she does. Shell hold you to the last second and will call you out if she sees you even look at your phone.
The worst prof. i've ever had. Class itself was pretty easy but i had to teach myself the material since she NEVER showed up. The few days she did, she took forever to make it through an assignment, so nothing ever got finished. Even though she didn't care to show up, she sure still gave tests on the assigned dates, hope u can teach urself.
As an instructor very good, put the information before you while explaining it is too quick. It mad it harder to grasp the instruction. Therefore, not good to teach but good to share the information. A great person from what I can see but I did not seem to gain enough detailed or hands on instruction.
Professor Beermann is a very professional professor to work with. Her intermediate algebra class has lots of homework, but that she did not choose the program assigned to us. Most of the homework correlates with the exams. She responds to emails very quickly and is helpful and polite. I would highly recommend her if you don't mind hard work.
She was nice, but when things got switched online, it took her 3 weeks to get assignments out. She didnt care for grading once it was online. She doesnt put out your final grades until a day after it was due. Dont recommend.
Super sweet.
I've been in the class for a month and a half and no grades have been entered. Teacher doesn't post the test until a few days before the due date so I started working ahead onto work for other tests because wasn't sure when the first test was due and not sure what chapters are on what test. Doesn't answer my questions via email.
Prof Beermann has rescheduled our first exam twice. She's doing this because she's guessing we are not prepared. I don't think she is well prepared this semester.
She's an awesome teacher, I've been taking her classes through zoom and they've been pretty straightforward. There have been a couple times where tests and assignments get rescheduled, but it's not that big a deal. She worked with me when I was having issues with the program, and was always ready to answer questions in the zoom call.
Professor Beermann is an amazing professor and is always open to answering your questions even mid-lecture. So if you struggle in math, make sure to ask questions when confused plus, she always offers to help go over a particular questions (after class) you might have over course material. Not to mention, her lecture notes are easy to follow. :)
Excellent ONLINE Teacher. Provides video and .pdf files for each class! Very caring and helpful! Best match teacher I ever had!
She was friendly and knew the material she was teaching, but she was terrible when it came to deadlines. There was no schedule in the syllabus, and you would be informed of a test a week in advance, which was likely to get postponed or moved to online. She also wasn't prompt in submitting your homework scores to Canvas.
Professor is a very sweet and caring lady and is more than happy to answer your questions. personally, she teaches very slowly. she also is never on top of posting things or emailing back. she also doesnt interact with her class much by making them answer problems and asking questions. if you want a class just for lectures, perfect for you
I think that Prof. Beermann is doing her best, but she's disorganized. We were consistently behind on the syllabus, and she didn't answer emails. However, she does drop the lowest test score and there is no cumulative final so that made things easier. If you can teach yourself you'll be alright.
I took this class as I simply needed the credit to graduate. Ms.Beerman once proceeded to assign us 200 plus homework questions AND THEN recommend us doing the study plan as well. As if any person with a job and other classes would have that time. She is extremely boring and forgetful, and is frequently cancelling class. I can hardly stay awake.
Professor Beermann has a strict system, but if you engage with it, the class isn't too bad. Definitely use resources like Unstuck ai and the textbook to teach yourself - attendance is mandatory but lectures can be dull. Overall, manageable with some self-study.
Professor Beerman is not only very condescending but rude. Not only does she give a bunch load of homework as if people do not have full-time jobs or lives outside of school. Communication is very horrific. You can ask a simple question and you'll be responded back with sarcasm. “I treat all student as adults they are” isn't a actual answer.
mad chill, idk what all the hate is about, i got a 101 in her class without ever trying. js do your work and you're chillin
She is a super caring teacher, but the lessons go by so slow. We are assigned a lot of homework, and it is rarely put into the grade book in a timely manner. The tests constantly get pushed back, and although they are easy enough, it is difficult to know when exactly the tests will be. She cares, but the organization is just not there.
She is very nice and took us into consideration when creating exams. Posted exactly what would be on the test, but tests took forever to be graded. The class is very easy if you pay attention and make a good cheat sheet to use for the tests. There are HW problems but not too many of them. The only downside was the schedule was moved around a lot.
