Michelle has been teaching for a few years at SRJC . I am glad to have taken her. She has great lectures (mostly if you're an audible learner) that are fast paced but not too fast. Her midterm is split up into 4 parts unlike other instructors. She's nice, approachable, and listens to students. Generous grade curving on midterms! MyEconLab is the HW
Prof. Conley is very passionate about economics. I was not looking forward to taking economics, but she made it really interesting. She cares about her students and wants them to do well. That doesn't mean she's easy, but it means she's available to help. Pay attention in class and take good notes, put in some effort and you'll do great.
So Conley is super knowledgeable and she makes Econ seem interesting, but she is not an easy teacher. She is super friendly and I love her lectures but she throws you curve-balls on the tests. You will see stuff on test that you don't remember her ever discussing. I feel like the tests are extremely hard. Reading the text is a MUST.
She's the sweetest professor and knows her stuff about Economics ! With that being said this is not an easy class. Her tests are hard & I even felt that the review sessions did not help much because a lot of the information on the tests was completely different as to what she told us to review.
Three exams, one quiz, and online homework using MyEconLab. Attend class and pay attention! Econ is a naturally difficult subject but she's a good teacher! Probably one of the best econ teachers available at the JC, if not the best. There is a group debate at the end of the semester that's not too bad. Just do all your work and you should pass.
Read the book and study lots to get an A. Definitely makes sense why so many people drop the class.
Ms. Conley is a great teacher and easily the best option for Econ 1 at SRJC. I had taken AP econ in high school and hated it, but she inspired me to really enjoy the class. You need to read, you need to take good notes, and you need to study. But if you do these things, an A is not impossible. There is a graphing quiz, 3 tests, and a final debate.
If I had to take another course with Conley again, I wouldn't. The exams are tough and too long for the allotted time. Her reviews were pointless because she throws curve balls on the exam. Half the exam is material she did not cover in class. Her online material is not helpful. She's nice and erudite, but her exams make it too hard to get an AB.
Conley is undoubtedly a great person. She seems like someone you could have a wicked conversation about anything pertaining to economics. However, all her homework is primarily focused online. What she lectures on and what is in the book seems to always differ. The tests are pretty difficult without extensive studying.
Economics is a though class, but Professor Conley makes it interesting and understandable. She is accessible should you need help, all you have to do is ask. the test are tough , but she is incredibly approachable and helpful, I'm a high school concurrent student and i will take another class with her. She is so far my favorite teacher.
Prof. Conley is cool, she is really great with her students, and beyond ready to help when help is needed, don; b afraid to ask for help! shes super sweet! not to mention all of the materials she provides for us to use. her tests can be kinda tough, but the homework totally prepares you, and her videos are super helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
She is a great teacher (and an even better person)! The exams are fair and everything is covered either in her lectures or in the textbook. If you study and put in the work, you will do well on her exams. She truly cares about her students (a rare characteristic). I highly recommend her to any Econ major students.
She's really passionate about what she does which makes it really interesting. She's super chill and is always willing to explain things if you don't understand. She is fair but expects you to be independent. She does like these college point things that are really helpful. The book is not a must have for lecture but a must have for homework.
She is not only my favorite teacher I have ever had at SRJC but also one of my favorite people in general. She is nothing but positive and is always there to help you in class or out of class. She has a burning passion for Economics and can help you connect a topic that is considered to be difficult to your life making it easy to understand.
The grade you earn is the grade you'll get. She's tough, but fair and always willing to help. It's amazing how much I've learned in her classes (2 so far, and I'm hoping she teaches other ones soon!). Students love her, and after the first week you'll know why. Exams are tough (it's economics after all) so study hard and attend her study groups!
Had her for Econ 1 & 2, amazing teacher! Econ is a tough subject but she made it do-able and I learned so much from her class, she clearly is passionate about teaching economics! Tests are hard but just attend her lectures and take good notes and do the homework and you'll pass.. oh and she does give extra credit
Professor Conley is AMAZING!! One of the best teachers that I have had. It's an economics course, so it's not easy-- but she makes the material very interesting. Her exams are based off lectures and the book. She gives quizzes that cover the exact same material that you will see on the exams, so you have a chance to be prepared.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. She is brilliant and the absolute sweetest. Took her for 1 & 2. No the class is not easy because economics is not an easy subject, but I guarantee you that she will do everything in her power to get you through her class successfully.
Professor Conley is a super nice teacher, but don't let fool you. Economics is very very tough to learn. Even though she does try to make the subject easy, her exams are super tough. The exams are long and sometimes won't have enough time to even finish them. She goes through the material fast, so reading the textbook is necessary.
Took her in class for Econ1:horrible policy of no office hours day-of quizzes and tests; very unhelpful! In all she wants you to succeed and is less all-over-the-place than other econ teachers. Reading & supplementals are a MUST; don't be afraid to ask questions. Online is straight-forward reading, quiz-like homework, 3 tests. Tough material though
Conley is a great teacher. Very sweet and caring. The subject matter is difficult. She offers extra credit, but it is a little out of ways. Read the chapter before she lectures on it. Show up to class. Pay attention. Watch Videos. Do HW same week she lectures on subject. Tests are tough. I'm taking ECON 2 now and it's even more difficult.
Michelle is an AMAZING Econ teacher! I loved going to her class! She is clear in her lectures, her tests are fairly easy if you at least paid attention in class, and her quizzes are super easy! Amazing teacher!
I have had a terrible experience with this teacher.. She does not want her student to pass. She make her class dreadful. I wouldn't recommend taking her.
What color is the sky? A)Green B)polka-dot C)Blue D)It depends on the weather and time of day- If you answered C) and have time to join a sorority, you will do well in her class. Homework and tests q's are ambiguous and dependent on semantics. A portion of actual grade reserved for "college points." Bad for those w/lives outside school. Frustrating
Makes you buy a $185 dollar textbook that is not helpful at all (do not buy it). Says she responds to emails, she doesn't. Tests are nothing like lectures. Homework assignments are ridiculous. Gives extra credit, but you have to pay $200 worth of gift cards to get 20 points. Puts down students and always comments how kids will drop after each test.
she is an awesome teacher. Im very glad that god blessed me teacher like her. she is very caring and funny. she is very smart and funny. she is beautiful and her lectures are amazing . she used to say that I am his best student which keeps me motivated to perform better in class. she is very motivating and is a blessing from god to srjc community.
Lots of group interaction/participation. A lot of time demanded. Need to read book, watch powerpoint, go to class, take notes ( Vague lectures, doesn't break down steps), do hw. Still confused? Watch videos, not always relevant. Tough in class, but more accommodating one-on-one. Test based on everything and with added problems never gone over.
Michelle's a great teacher but if you want to succeed in the class you have to work for it. It is essential to study the textbook and she makes it pretty clear that studying her notes from class isn't enough to do well on tests. She strongly encourages socializing with your classmates and being active on campus.
Where do I begin? Well, she REQUIRES a textbook that she wrote; the worst part? ITS $200!! I have taken economics before (I enjoy it), and her book is a joke. Her definitions are not accurate. I took her online class. As any online course goes, you MUST keep up on reading and homework. The instructor is harder online than in person.
This was the worst experience Ive had with an online class. She has no office hours and doesnt respond to emails, its almost like you dont have a professor for this class. Worse yet, her book is $200 and very innacurrate on many topics. I have taken Econ before and the book relies heavily on the professors opinions rather than facts.
DO NOT TAKE THIS INSTRUCTOR. This was by far the hardest online class I have taken. Im shocked that this instructor is still allowed to teach. She wrote her own textbook, which she charges $200 for, and it is written based on her opinion and not on actual fact. Goodluck getting an email response from her too. This class was an utter nightmare.
Michelle is just fine. Not great, not terrible, just fine. She's an alright teacher and I would've given her a 4/5 here, but the $200 textbook that's barely used is absurd. If you take the class, I'd just get an online access code and work around the lack of the book. It'll save you lots of money and won't add much hassle. It's an easy class though
On the very first day of class, Conley sent out an email saying that it is required to purchase her $200 dollar book that she wrote, or we will be dropped from the class. As a result, I ended up purchasing her expensive book that was not very helpful. She also took a long time to respond to emails.
Online homework is easy w/o book. Don't buy it. Prof is hard to contact. Does give accommodations when asked, have to email many times to get attention. She had very little contact with the whole class. Not easy to get in touch with other students in the class. Have had her in person, as well. She does care, but online makes that distant. Cheers.
Now uses a free textbook, which she herself says "isn't as good but at least it's free" A workbook is now required, but it's a complete joke. At least it's cheap! Also funny that she said to quickly drop to make room for her class, but there was 16/35 people. All online assignments are proctored. First sentence I wrote is all that matters though.
Nearly impossible to contact, can't get Proctorio set up correctly but ignored the chat conversation with many students saying it doesn't work, does not cover all the material in the homework in lecture leaving one to google economic concepts themselves... This class sucks, and I am dropping it for a refund if she doesn't respond tomorrow.
Economics is an extremely hard class. If you read the chapters, do your homework, study ungodly hours, and show her you're trying, then she'll be willing to work with you. I wouldn't have passed the class had it not been for her. She helped keep me on track for graduation!
Conley makes a big thing about the syllabus being a "contract," but then makes changes to schedules, test dates, and assignments with no notice. Pay attention to her recommended Khan Academy videos and take good lecture notes. Tests are hard but do-able. Use office hours if you need help. Her e-mail responses are infrequent and not helpful.
She gives very little actual instruction, all the tests are pulled from Quizlet, he final exam study guide had a single page of general, vague information to know about, and the lectures are severely lacking. She expects you to teach yourself from the book - which, by the way, is an outdated online version. She also uses Proctorio.
I took this class online. At first it took some time to get used to how she was going to teach. Once I got an understanding of the amount of work it was going to take I was able to put forth the energy needed. She does do online video lectures that are very helpful. Also be ready to study, no way to take these exams without studying and understandi
Expect to read the textbook. Her lectures are good, but she barely covers the basics of each topic and nothing more. If you rely on what she has taught, you'll fail half the HW assignments. She's friendly and ready to help, and gives EC sometimes, but READ THE BOOK.
I go to SSU. This is one of the few JC classes that are similar to what you will see at SSU. It's not a 'fluff' class. Real content and really interesting!
Do not take her hybrid class. Her canvas account is a mess. Her tests are for Berkeley students. The one day a week for lecture she just preaches about econ club, studying abroad, or an econ sorority. She does not prepare you for tests, only reply's to yes/no emails. And if you work during office hours she will not try and help you. Serious Trash
Econ is the most important subject you will lean in your college career, without knowing the elasticity of top ramen there is not point to your education.
Had Conley for both Econ 1 and Econ 2. I liked her for Econ 1, but she changed so much of the format for Econ 2 and it seemed completely unorganized. She had many assignments but never gave concrete feedback so you never knew where to improve. Spent most of the limited class time talking about things unrelated to econ. Lecture videos added nothing.
She is a an outstanding teacher. She even make videos to reinforce the topics covered in her classes. I hesitated to enroll into both Econ classes the same semester. But, it was the best decision ever. As a non-native speaker, I didn't find Econ1 and 2 to be difficult. So, I bet it'll be much easier for you. A ton of material online, go for it!
At the beginning of the semester she kept on saying so many students would drop but only a few did in the end. She is not there during her office hours. She does not cover everything in class that is on the exam. The kids taking the class arent any better. They dont really study and some dont even show up to the exam. Typical Community College..
When lecturing, she goes off and says many different things than what she has said before. She does not know her own schedule and gets all of her classes mixed up which leads to her missing certain sections being taught. Her class may not be taken seriously due to missed information and confusing lectures.
I am currently enrolled in Conleys late start Econ 1 class, and I cannot wait for it to be over tomorrow! Some good things about her class was that there was extra credit and the tests were really easy. However, she has a very bad personality and expects students to understand topics not covered in class. She also doesnt show up to office hours.
just finished taking her class today. im pretty sure i passed. her tests are a lot harder than the problem sets or examples. her class is pretty boring and its not required to show up. 3 hard exams determine your grade. when i ask her questions i get the vibe that she wants to finish talking to me as soon as possible. i just feel a negative energy.
Econ with Conley was one of my easiest classes last semester. In order to get an A on the tests and in the class, all I did was read the online textbook, read the PowerPoints she provided, and watched her videos. Other students did not do this and thought that the class was extremely difficult. FYI, am a Biology major and took Econ just for fun.
Mrs. Conley is a very hard teacher. On tests, she would assess our knowledge on topics that were not even covered in class! She expected students to read the things she posted on canvas and did not review it in class. The tests are difficult and consist of multiple choice and short answer questions. They also count for 75% of the total grade.
In this class, I dont really have any idea what is being taught. We recently took our first midterm and there was a lot of information that wasnt covered in class that was on the test. In class, we just draw graphs of supply and demand curves instead of preparing for the test.
To put it bluntly, online Econ 2 was hard. This was my first online class ever and I had no idea what to expect. I never took Econ 1 before. Each online video was of her doing supply/demand curves and basic math problems. She had slides, but they were not good. The tests covered way more info than what was in class or the powerpoints.
This class really was not a hard class. I took the macroeconomic class that met twice a week. A lot of students thought it was hard because they didnt read the free textbook thats online. They expected all the test material to come from class and the problem sets. Students also did not watch her videos she posts on canvas. Take her for an A.
I took Econ 1 and 2 with Conley and got Bs in both. Her teaching style is confusing and she isnt personable. I taught myself the class by reading the powerpoints. Exams were difficult, but not the end of the world. I showed up to office hours, but she did not. She also constantly pressured us into joining her Kappa Alpha Delta society/club.
I took Econ 1 with Conley a few semesters ago. In class, we watched videos of her explain various concepts. She would also have us read a free textbook that didnt work 90% of the time. For some reason, she would only post videos on some topics and not others. We were expected to learn the rest of the stuff by ourselves for the hard tests.
The only thing that was required for her class (two semesters ago) was a red pen. We did not have to buy a text book. Thats were the positive things end. She did not go over test material in class. We just wrote random things from the whiteboard. Tests often asked questions not covered anywhere. Also, the tests were worth 75% of the grade!
Makes you teach the subject to yourself, lectures and assignments are very old and taken from outside sources. Seems to do the minimum as a teacher, but holds you to high standers. Test are extremely difficult for time frame given.
Needless to say, I failed this class. I took Econ 1 with Gomez and it was way better. Michelle Conley is not ever at her office hours. In addition, she lectures about random things but the tests cover material not covered in class. Instead, most of the material comes from her videos or the online textbook. I figured this out right before the final
Lol, idk why everyone likes to bash Conley in the reviews. She really is not that bad. The best advice for this class is that not everything she tests will be covered in lecture, even in the classes she teaches twice a week. Read the online textbook and watch her videos. The other textbook which costs money is not needed to get an A in the class.
I got an A in the class, but I never really learned anything from the actual class. I had to do a lot of reading the online textbook and her powerpoints, but I thought it was fine. Attending lecture was not really beneficial. I would much rather spend more time on self studying. The exams were not difficult and covered the readings, not lecture
Michelle Conley really cares about her students. I remember one class when she just stopped talking about economics for half the class and instead talked about how us students should save money and invest that money to put it to work. Truly inspirational. After that class I invested 10000 dollars and since that class I have made over 6500 dollars.
This was a tough class, but I really learned a lot from it. Thanks to Conley, I can apply economic principles to my life. Her class did not require a physical hard copy textbook. It was a free online book. The tests covered more stuff from the textbook than from her lectures. 100% multiple choice. There was a firm project and it was easy.
she started out well but her problem sets DID NOT help with the tests and honestly idk where she pulled her tests from since she barely covered anything on them. Then covid came and everything went online she stopped holding class... all my teachers struggled but found a way but she simply gave up and did not teach us for the rest of the semester.
Even though I am a physics major, I wanted to take this class due to interest. I am now considering double majoring or minoring in Econ. This class really got me to view my life economically. I highly recommend taking this class with Conley!
Recently completed econ 1 with Conley. She is super nice and her lectures taught me lots. I also had to read the textbook and her powerpoints outside of class to do well on her tests. They were mostly multiple choice, but there was an easy short answer section. There was a small amount of extra credit. We volunteered at a thanksgiving event.
Soo... Conley's nice. She definitely cares about her students. But her online classes are not organized well and looks like she does a lot of copy/pasting. Tests have info that isn't covered in class OR textbook. After COVID, stopped communicating until the night before the tests. Unclear expectations. If you already took some econ, you'll be fine?
If you're gonna take Econ, I'd urge you to take a different professor. She requires the purchase of a small paperback workbook to be used for 2 weeks until we filled all 30 pages. We had to write and solve problems, in addition to doing workbook problems. Why have the book? She used acronyms and lingo, expecting us to understand what she's saying.
I got an A in this class, but Conley did not help much. Basically, I had to teach myself this course to get an A. I read the online textbook and watched the videos. Class did not help, I still showed up though. Test was easy for me because I thoroughly studied. While taking test, Conley would leave class and others would cheat and fail.
This class taught me a lot about the economy as a whole. We did lots of supply/demand curves! The tests did require studying! Lots of my classmates did the bare minimum outside of class and did really poorly on tests. They would even cheat on the tests together when the teacher left the classroom and still failed the tests!
The class is difficult to begin with, and this professor provides little, if any, support structure. No office hours, will only direct you to other people for help, and provides copy/paste responses in emails. This class absolutely requires you to read the textbook and learn the material yourself. You will need self-discipline in this class.
Her class this fall semester was awful. She was absent the entire time, never answered any my emails, and basically expected us to teach ourselves the course. She barely tried; all her answers could be found online, it's like she just copy pasted. Economics is hard enough, and during this isolating semester there was no motivation to learn.
Little contact with professor. Extremely difficult to do well. NO FEEDBACK. Assignment due before exams so no finding out what you did wrong to improve, same with exams. Other reviewers they said to study the book and videos which I did but exam questions were either not from book material or just things were weren't exposed to.
An asynchronous online class- be sure you can pick up content and stay on schedule for the entire semester. Main issue : there are only 3 exams that make up almost 70-80% of you grade. The tests are confusing and hard to pass with more than a B at best. She links so many different lectures and textbook ch. that are not used on the tests.
SHe uses proctorio,
Conleys use of Proctorio (an online proctoring system) made it hard to do well in her class. While I was taking tests, I always felt like I was being watched through my computer screen and someone was breathing down my neck. There was no privacy in this class. When taking classes, I recommend not taking any that require proctorio.
While reading these reviews, the main thing that stood out to me was that students did not like her use of Proctorio. That is so funny to me. I took her class in person. While being tested, she would frequently leave the classroom for over ten minutes. Some people would cheat, but it would be pretty obvious if both people got it wrong. Be careful.
Took her as an asynchronous class, homework was due on Mondays but she posted material for the "week" SUNDAY NIGHT A DAY BEFORE IT WAS DUE. Changed assignment criteria 15 minutes before midnight. One time I turned in an assignment and got 30% I messaged her to find out why and she said "Figure it out yourself". Disorganized, bad attitude, nightmare
Took her online class, terrible experience. outdated lecture videos! ZERO feedback on tests and quizzes.
do not take this class Ms conley is not a committed teacher, does not offer office hours or any opportunity to meet her. Your grade is based mostly on exams which are incredibly hard. The problem sets and study guide dont correlate to the exams. It is clear Ms Conley does not care about her students
No office hours, email response vague. Many of the materials in canvas have errors or are missing. Tests have material that isn't covered by book, slide presentations, or the extremely short videos. I am a straight A AP/honors student with above 4.6 GPA, and I found the class difficult to pass even with a associate professor tutor.
Lets just say I wouldn't do it again. While I really looked forward to learning about economics I found myself quite lost in her class. She has a few assignments at first and seems like it could be a good class then 1/3 into the semester there are no more assignments, just exams and pre-recorded lectures. This isn't an easy passing class.
Save yourself the anxiety and dont take this class. She is a thoughtful teacher and puts effort in her lectures, however it is a lot of work.
Professor Conley is a decent and caring professor. I was really nervous to take her class after reading her reviews, but the class is not that bad. Read the text and listen to lectures, take thorough notes, and you will pass the tests. The tests are straightforward and she tells you exactly what material will be on them.
Conley is truly the best professor. I took her online class and found it to be soooo easy. I just googled all the answers for every test and got 100 percent in her class. I dont know why other students had such a bad experience with her. Maybe its because they cant type fast enough? They should consider taking a typing class (BGN 101).
I dont think any economics professor at the SRJC is great, but Conley is definitely the best. If you study hard it will be evident on test. Students tend to underestimate the difficulty of introduction economics courses, theyre weed out courses. I know other professors assign tons of busy work on top of tests. Not Conley, just tests and easy work.
The most uncommitted professor I have come across. All answers are online however she sucks at lecturing and assumes you know material when she posts no assignments. Zero office hours and is vague/rude when emailing her. Can't believe she gets paid for this.
Prof. Conley's class has very little homework, lots of lectures, and is mostly graded based on your exam grades. In my opinion, this class is a lot of work even without the homework. You're expected to study on your own which can be difficult for a lot of students.
The study guides and review are completely different from the exams. Exams are basically your whole grade so it's insanely hard to pass. Conley is very out of touch with her students and has messaged the class maybe once this semester. Do not take her if you want to pass :)
I'm a high school dual enrollment student with straight A's throughout plenty of AP/Honors classes and high-level math courses such as Math 1C here at the JC. This class was horrible. Three exams make up 75% of your grade, she makes you buy an awful workbook that she herself wrote (???), and she gives zero feedback. If you can, avoid.
I took this class for one week. Proctored exams, confusing homework, no lectures, powerpoints didn't match the textbook, questions that don't ask questions, no example problems. Take that info how ever you'd like.
Professor isn't necessarily bad, but exams are 75% of your entire grade. She should have assigned more hw so you can learn the material. It's more of a "teach yourself" type of class. The exams don't include much from the study guide so do not rely on those. Professor is not involved with the class and posted maybe 3 announcements all semester.
Your whole grade is the exams and there is no instruction throughout the whole class. There are long hard homework assignments that have nothing to do with what's on the tests.
I hope Conley can change her class's lesson plan. Exams are heavy, instructions can't help much to get high grade in the exams, but I give her a 4 because Conley isn't too bad. She gives out extra credit, and also come to talk to her if you want to improve your grade. Take Onl class if u want to survive, in-person if you want to understand Econ
Tbh, this class wasn't TOO bad, just more of a self-learning class. There was extra credit opportunities! Exams did make up most of your grade and there was rarely any hw. So, make sure you study hard! Also, the few assignments we had were pretty simple. She uses proctorio on exams as well.
Good class, I learned a lot about macroeconomics. The tests though... you are given 2 hours to do 62 problems that involve word problems, graphs, and lots of math. She also requires you to use Proctorio to make sure people don't cheat. Needless to say, I took the whole timeframe each test and still managed to survive. 10/10 would take again.
She is a great teacher, yet I could not keep up with her class. Taking her class online was so tough and her assignments were hard to keep up with. I recommend taking her class in person.
Michelle Conley's online class lacked real-time interaction; and solely relied on outdated lecture videos. Minimal workload outside tests, but exams were challenging. If you skim through lectures, you'll manage. Improvement is needed in engagement and updated content.
She is amazing and her lectures are very well done and entertaining. The only problem is how her exams are worth your whole grade but her exams problems and quizzes are exactly how she teaches them. Her textbook is free and you would only have to read it for the multiple choice on the exam.
Get ready to self teach yourself most of the material. Professor Conley only teaches you part of the material. Get LOTS of tutoring.
Unclear and inconsistent instructions. One day a workbook is due and changes last minute so you don't know whether or not you missed a hw or not. 30+ questions for a quiz and assigns 2 in one day. Uses protorial. Steer away.
Avoid at all cost. Inconsistent due dates. Unpredictable. Quiz and exam heavy and it's proctored with so many questions. Assigns problem sets before exams with 13+ pages worth of work. You have to hand write and scan the hws which is a waste of time. You're better off taking this class at a different college.
While Conley is good at what she does teach, she leaves a lot of material to learn on your own and is very inconsistent in lectures and on practice exams vs the real thing. Also, she often cancels class with nothing but a note on the door even if she planned on being gone ahead of time. It sucks if you drive from an hour away.
I don't know how she is in person but her online class is terrible. Provides outdated videos with limited examples that make the homework harder than it needs to be because you aren't provided adequate reference. She is also unresponsive to emails with questions. AVOID! Not to mention tests are proctored and take up majority of your grade.
This class requires a lot of self-discipline, but the professor provides helpful resources like free textbooks and practice videos. Use Unstuck ai for study prep, go to office hours, and you'll do well. The exams are challenging, but there's extra credit to boost your grade.
Actually the worst professor I have ever had. She acts like this is the only class you are taking and assigns large amounts of homework with little resources. Also never replies to emails and/or messages, took two weeks to get one reply about an assignment (messaged 3 times before due date). A literal 4 year would be a better professor than her.
One of her projects worth a large grade had to be resubmitted to test for ai, which spooked students as this was not required to submit the first time.If you don't resubmit, you get zero points. Her tone on this felt very accusatory and not helpful to us. Some of my peers decided to take the zero even though they didn't cheat, dropping grades 20%.
I wouldn't listen to the other reviews; I fully recommend you to take her for econ at the JC. She is one of the best econ teachers, everyone else isn't as good. If you genuinely put in the work, then you'll be able to get an A. However, the majority failed the class due to AI. Also, your grade is made up of exams so watch out (she uses a Proctor).
Seems like she actively wants her students to fail. Changes due dates frequently and failed 75% of the class on one assignment because she thinks everyone uses AI.
Professor Conley is a very forgiving and caring professor. She offers numerous opportunities for extra credit, which can significantly boost a grade. Her lectures are fast-paced, and the class is heavily weighted on tests and quizzes, but she provides enough material online to understand the concepts, and the textbook she used is free! I recommend!
