Online classes are difficult and not for everyone. She is fair and offers help all semester.

Prof. Davis' class was heavy on course work, which was to be expected. The class was Oceanography (in Ohio) but I felt like she made it relevant in a few ways. The deadlines were sometimes confusing, but it was a good experience overall.

I am not a science minded person and have a lot of anxiety. Prof. Davis made the class applicable and manageable if you are not comfortable with science. There were good discussions and alot of material was handed out besides just book material. Interesting class and always willing to help when she could

Definitely loves field of Earth Science, and the passion shows in her lectures. Will give you all the help in the world if you need it, and provides after-class help. A very worthwhile professor. Just make sure you pay attention in the class, and read the textbook when you can. Would not hesitate to take a class with her again.

Physical geography ESCI1310 - Mrs. Davis was a great professor and was willing to work with students and provide a very exciting atmosphere to learn in. The way she describes the material and presents it in videos and powerpoints helps to clear up any misunderstanding anyone had. I will be taking her classes again. A+

Took online oceanography with professor Davis. She made the material relevant and interesting, which is hard to being in Ohio. The class moved fast but she was there to help and responded to emails quickly. Will take her classes again.

Prof Davis is extremely helpful and replies to emails quickly. I took this course online and relied on the book and google for my answers. It is hard not to get an A in this class. She gives 3 hours for exams so there is no possible way you could fail. The class was also curved like 100 points. Super easy A and interesting! Would take again!!!!!!

Professor Davis has been a great professor this semester in terms of helpfulness, quick to grade and reply to emails, and tries to keep our interest in the coursework. My only complaints is that this class is great to take if you aren't overloading yourself. This class can be intense with coursework in a 12, 13, 14 credit + semester.

Overall she is a great teacher and it's an easy class with many extra credit opportunities

I was nervous to take a summer class online, but SO happy I chose Physical Geology. She is passionate, responds to emails, and will help you to the best of her ability. My only concern I had was the test times. Make sure you study and go over her reviews as she doesn't give an extremely amount of time. Class was extremely interesting.

Very nice and personable. Always available to help and responds to emails promptly. Is upfront about work load and provides plenty of time to do the work and stay on track. She provides awesome feedback to help you understand why you missed something and how to fix it. Fair grader, great professor!

Pro Davis is an awesome teacher and gives good feedback. She's really into what she does and loves it! Took the class online and got over 100% in the class but you do have to work for it. It's nothing hard but it requires weekly work and her exams are online with over 2 hours to get them done. Gives extra credit. Take her because it's a great class

Prof Davis really cares about you grasping the material and even though she makes you work for your grade it is a good thing because she doesn't leave you out there she comes along side you to answer any questions or give you a new perspective to understanding the material and she always responds to emails She is very knowledgeable in this field

A great teacher-she loves what she does! There was homework online and a few article summaries. The tests are kind of hard, but she gives a review and it basically mimics her PowerPoint lectures from each class. Attendance not mandatory but with the new TRICrules u have to go. I never used the textbook & she doesn't upload grades on Blackboard

Professor Davis was easily one of the most understanding and best professors I've ever had. If you show up to class and do the labs you'll do fine. She offers many extra credit opportunities. You can tell she actually cares about her profession and her students and did her best to accommodate to our needs. A smart, humble woman and super sweet!

I LOVED HER. I would recommend Ms. Davis to any student! One of the most amazing teachers I've ever had. She understands that we are human and doesn't push a ton of work on you. She is so laid back, and peaceful. She loves what she does and she wants you to understand why she loves it. If you have the choice to take her, DO IT! You will not regret.

Ms. Davis was the best science teacher I have ever had in my 15 years of schooling hands down. I have always been horrible at science and she made it stress free and fun for me. She is always willing to help and understands that our life is not dedicated to the class. I have taken two of her classes and got A's and I've never gotten A's in science.

This class is about OCEANS- not about ocean life. Professor Davis is great about giving feedback. Some of her reading assignments are extremely difficult. You will learn so much about oceans in this class- maybe more than you want to.

I really enjoyed Professor Davis's class. She's extremely passionate about science and always has the newest science information available to share. She's an easy grader, the most work was online. We had 3 tests total, they were super easy if you looked at the study guide she prepares. She's a kind person and really wants students to succeed.

Michelle Davis was a great professor for both ES 1310 and 1310 Lab. She really knows her stuff and is passionate. She makes it easy for non science majors to relate and learn. I would recommend her and take her again if I had to. Do all the work and you will be rewarded for it. She is very understanding about everything.

Overall Professor Davis is a good teacher. The whole class is lecture and she goes in depth. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about geography, which makes the class a little more fun. Science courses are not a strong suit of mine, but Prof. Davis made this class so much easier! Very helpful, responds back quickly, and is definitely the best online professor (and most interactive online professor) I have had yet. I highly recommend taking her. There is some work required in this class, but it is not too difficult.

Science is not my favorite subject at all but Professor Davis made me enjoy it! She gives wonderful assignments that help you learn a lot and they made me want to learn more! She gives you lots of material to go over so if you do not understand something, you will eventually. Also, she is very kind! She's amazing!

I learned so much from her Special Topics in Oceanography class! I'm not that interested in science but she brought to my attention so many things that are happening with our earth. The assignments are fun and very educational, she's so kind and helpful with any questions that you have. I really enjoyed this class and would recommend it to everyone

I absolutely LOVED taking this class! Homework is very easy as it is questions from the end of the chapter. A study guide is given out for tests. She is also involved in the field of Geology and kept our class up to date on geologic activity around the world. Very easy to talk to. Definitely would take another class with her.

I never in a million years thought that I could truly be interested in Earth Science. She has changed the way that I view the world. She provides so much material but makes it interesting. She values each of her students individuality and her feedback is so helpful. She is flexible and understanding. The BEST professor that I have had at Tri-C!

There's a lot of reading, homework questions from the back of each chapter! A discussion board weekly on top of a weekly project . I took this class over the summer and it was the most work I've had in any class at tri-c. The teacher is very approachable. she gives great feed back and extra credit.I learned a lot but worked hard for it.

This professor was awesome. The content wasn't heavy laden with excessive useless material. She gave ample opportunity to complete assignments. I took her class in summer. Even it is 10-week semester I learnt a lot and I am really greatful for that. I am not going to use anything from this class in an academic way but what I've learned is an eye opening informations about the world we live. Prof. Davis really loves and knows what she is doing. I really enjoyed Prof. Davis' geography class. I learned a lot and it opened my eyes to things I would not have paid attention to in the past. Even though this class was not part of my major, it was well worth the time.

Overall, she is very knowledgeable and approachable. She has a real passion for what she teaches and is really good at responding to emails. Didn't look at the book once but 66% of the course grade was from assignments online from the books access code.

Professor Davis is a real gem to find in a community college. Very few professors I've ever had have matched her level of passion and enthusiasm for the material. She constantly keeps lectures topical + interesting. Lots of online homework but it can be done easily w/ the online text (ctr+F). Tests are pretty easy + LOTS of extra credit

I am taking Professor Davis this semester for Physical Geology. She is very nice, caring and wants her student's to do well. There are many small assignments, but are not super difficult. 3 exams, and no quizzes! Tests are T/F, short answer, & multiple choice. Also, many opportunities to earn extra credit! Highly recommend! She's great! :)

Professor Davis is highly knowledgeable, & very personable and understanding. 3 exams, no quizzes, HW after each chapter, misc assignments & extra credit. Just keep up on your work & review your HW & the study guide she hands out before the exams. Don't worry if you aren't a great test taker, as many points come from other assignments.

I took Oceanography online with her. It was by far the most interesting of any class I have ever taken with Tri-C. I learned so much more than I had known before and I felt that the assignments we had were just enough without being overwhelming. She gives a lot of extra credit as well. Professor Davis is great! While there is a lot of homework/assignments, they are not hard and will not take you long to complete. Plus, the HW will aid as a study tool for the exams. I was not a fan of Mastering Geography, which was a large portion of our grade, but otherwise it was a fun course.

Geology of the Natural Parks is a very interesting and fun class. I highly recommend this class and Prof. Davis. She is sincerely interested in the subject matter and in her students. Super nice- her class was full but she allowed me and two others on the wait list to join. Her response time is AMAZING, also a quick grader. There is a lot of work- but most the material is super interesting and related to what we are learning. Honestly if you do your work and show you are making a solid effort the class is an easy A.

Professor Davis is such a sweetheart! I had to take a science class for graduation. Anything down this line is not my cup of tea, but she makes the material easier to comprehend. I appreciate that she is open to extending deadlines for homework when we don't have enough time in class to review all the material and she offers extra credit!

Online Summer courses aren't usually great. So I was pleasantly surprised when I took Professor Daviss class. Her recorded lectures were very engaging. The work was usually about applying the knowledge instead of asking you to remember something. I learned a lot, but it didnt feel like I was being forced to learn.

Professor Davis is by far the absolute best professor I have had. I'm taking two classes with her online and she is so incredibly helpful. She wants you to call her once a week with any questions you have, and even extended due dates for me because my lab kit wasn't going to be here in time for my geology lab. She's the best!!

This is the second course I have taken with Professor Davis and it was phenomenal. There is A LOT of points in this class, but each week is structured the same, so you know what to expect. Read, complete your assignments and you'll do fine. It's nice to take an exam that actually has material that was discussed in class.

I had Professor Davis for Ocean Studies for Spring 2020 and she was amazing. The workload can be heavy and you'll need to dedicate time to finishing assignments but it not hard to understand. Every week there are chapter questions and an essay review you'll need to write at least, but it is always very interesting! Loved it, would take again!!

I have taken several of her courses because she is the best professor I have ever had, very caring and kind person, she goes out of her way to help in any way she can, very clear instructions and is very understanding. Have had great conversations with her and she clearly loves what she does and the subjects she teaches.

Read the chapter(s), take quiz on Connect (multiple chances), summarize an article, and a discussion board post. She provides a lot of resources to help you learn and relates info to real world. Online does not equal work at your own pace... too many people don't understand this concept. Weekly assignments, probably 6-8 hours of work per week. There are several extra credit items and 2 tests. Final project is planning a trip to national park. Great discussions about geology and Earth science, great recorded lectures, very accessible.

She gives SO much extra credit, it should be impossible to fail her class. Very easy grader. Great if you have any issues and really cares about students too! You have at least 3 hours to take her tests. Same work every week too.

She is amazing ! Normally two homeworks and one discussion per week but it wasnt too bad. Sometimes you would have to write a summary on an article but that was bad either. I ended Up with over 100 percent in the class because of extra credit offers. Shes amazing. take her for any classes she has to offer!

She is an amazing teacher! She is honestly so genuine and caring. I took her Ocean Studies class and I loved learning about it. Although sometimes it was a lot of work (8-week course) the materials she provided were interesting and she was excited! There were discussion boards every week, chapter questions, short summaries due. I loved her class!:)

I despise Biology but Prof. Davis made this class enjoyable. Shes very laid back and considerate. Its obvious she wants students to succeed and will go the extra mile to ensure they get the help they need. Her class discussions were actually interesting as far as recent events and pollution challenges, but expect a decent amount of reading.

Her class is structured so you read a chapter, watch lecture, do an assignment, and a summary every week. But I never read the textbook and was fine. She offers sooo much extra credit it's insane! Hard to fail so long as you just do the work. Even the assignment had multiple chances to get the right answer! Very nice in her emails and reminders!

The most amazing Professor on this planet, she does the most for all of her students. She will help outside of class and is available almost 24/7, super reasonable grader and easy assignments. Extra credit on everything. No major papers or projects, just weekly assignments and maybe a couple discussion boards.

Take this professor!!! She is the best Ive ever had. Decent amount of work with a one page summary and chapter summary each week, but I always did it in one day. She offers extra credit and I had like a 99.96% at the end of the semester! If she is an option for your class choose her, you wont regret it :)

I loved Prof. Davis. She has a great personality and cares about her students. Participation matters. She does take late work, but be considerate of how much time has passed. Interesting DB and interactive exercises. I received a low grade due to my participation. If I participated, I would've gotten an A. Tests are long so study! You get 3 hours.

Each week we had 2 chapters to read, an assignment and an Blackboard discussion post due until we had an exam. Exams were one attempt with 3 hour limit, open book. Shes very clear about what will be on exam. Chapters are a decent length and assignment was a two paragraph summary of an article. Simple work, just takes some time.

I loved her!! She managed to make an online class actually be engaging and interesting. She is clearly very passionate about the subject. She assigns a lot of material, but if youre here to actually learn, it is very enjoyable. Always available to talk, the best teacher ive had so far at tri-c. I would love to take a class of hers again if I could.

Professor Davis was amazing! She was very caring and offered tons of feedback on assignments. She also offered multiple extra credit assignments which was helpful. I took the class online so there were multiple assignments each week but very easy!

Professor Davis is hands down the most caring, communicative, and attentive teacher I have ever had. Her class is so well organized and she is passionate about what she teaches. Highly recommend you take her classes!

Fitting she teaches geo, cause she's 100% a gem. Super knowledgeable. Uses very up to date info, and discusses relevant info+events very often! Lectures are very ADHD but in the best way humanly possible lol. Very real and genuine person, is very willing to work with you, communicate with you, etc. There's more work than easy, but not overload. <3

This class is definitely a lot of work, but relatively easy work. The exams are timed but not difficult. The fun part of the course is the discussion boards on scientific issues facing the globe. She is very accessible to contact even in online courses. Her course can be a little disorganized at times, but I definitely recommend her!

A good amount of homework, but also a good amount of extra credit opportunities. Very reachable. Buy the book and you will be good. Everything was due on Saturdays.

She is very sweet and understanding! Her class was very informative and I loved learning about everything we talked about.She offers a bunch of extra credit. I thought the class would be harder but there's a summary, questions, and a chapter read each week. I had some conversations with her outside of class as well and she offers a ton of material!

Prof. Davis is a wonderful professor who cares about her students and sets time aside for them. The course content was interesting and Prof. Davis added much more outside content and perspectives toward the subjects and topics at-hand.

Shes the best. Thats about all there is to say. Shes kind, patient, understanding, and crazy intelligent in her field. Shes a self-proclaimed science nerd at heart, and her love of earth science is contagious.

Professor Davis was such an amazing teacher and I would 100% recommend her for any class. I took Ocean Studies online and it was a simple self-explanitory course. There is a fair amount of work, but easy to manage. Also, the tests are simple and Ms. Davis was very accessible for any questions on the lessons.

I cannot stress enough how amazing Professor Davis is! Her dedication to each student, individually, makes me respect her so much more. Each chapter is so interesting and the homework is not tedious at all. I am about to graduate and by far one of my favorite professors. Weekly multiple choice quiz, short summary and sometimes a discussion board.

Her online class is structured to easily understand. Each week you know what is expected of you. . She is always available. She wants you to succeed. If you need multiple science credits, take ALL of her courses. Yes, there is a lot of work but, it allows you a lot of points. There is no reason why you shouldn't have an A. Shes the BEST!

This teacher is the sweetest person on the planet. I have her as an Ocean Studies professor and I am telling you to take her class. You will NOT regret it!!! She is SO interactive and makes herself available every single day. Not to mention, she is also a very interesting person who teaches very interesting classes. 10/10. Would recommend.

She was absolutely awesome and I loved her class. It was an online course and I felt that she did an awesome job and I hope she continues to teach!

BEST PROFESSOR EVER!

There are 3 asgs. / wk ( review, quiz, and 1 parg. on the discussion board). On top of all this, she offers extra credit and grades quickly & concisely. I highly recommend her course for adults since our time is short. She knows how to manage her life and time. But please do not take her for granted. :) She works hard for all!

One of the best professors I've had. You can tell Prof. Davis really cares about what she's teaching, and that makes the class enjoyable. There are weekly assignments/quizzes, and only about 3 exams. There is a lot of reading, but it helps a lot. Overall, I would 100% take another class from her!

One of my favorite classes. Before taking this I had no interest in this subject but this professor was truly amazing I would recommend taking her classes if you can!

I really appreciate this prof. Ive had 3 of their classes now: Ocean Studies, Geology of the National Parks, and Geo of the NP Lab. She has always been extremely understanding & kind when it comes to grading & expectations. She always offers opportunity for extra credit, & makes it a point to exude passion for the topics they teach. Love them!!

A very nice teacher and understands that things happen. Will take late work and give full credit. A great professor and will help you understand the material if you don't. Will respond to emails very quickly even on weekends and late at night. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!!

Such an amazing Professor! Every week you have to read a chapter (you can watch her lectures and be fine), answer 15 multiple-choice questions, do a summary of an article, and do a simple discussion. You should be fine as long as you stay on top of your work. She always had something nice to say about my summaries and personalized her responses!

The biggest compliment I can give Prof. Davis is that she provided many high-quality resources to learn Earth Science and Oceanography. However, she was a geologist teaching the ocean and it showed. I hope that in the future she studies this material more knowledgeable about water and its processes. With that said, she is a fantastic professor.

I took Ms. Davis' Introduction to Ocean Studies class and had a blast. She is truly passionate about what she does, and while there were a lot of homework assignments, it never felt like a chore because they were about interesting topics, and you got to write your own opinion on them. She is so sweet and caring; please take one of her classes!

Professor Davis was very kind and accomodating this past semester (Fall 24) when handling various issues out of her control. The ESCI1610 Lecture is 3/assignments a week with an assigned reading. Do not skip the supplementary materials and you should be fine. She communicates well and offers extra credit. Easy A if you put in the work & great prof.

Michelle Davis is one of the BEST professors I have ever had. She made earth science digestible and fun to learn! She is also very patient, flexible, and has great communication skills! I looked forward to meeting her every week for the lab! The lab we used was in beta testing, so it's not the greatest... but the kinks are being worked out!

Professor Davis is an amazing professor. Even though there were technology issues during the online lab class during the fall 2024 semester. Professor Davis was very flexible with assignment deadlines. Professor Davis also offered online help sessions to help students work through assignments.

She is an amazing professor and super understanding. I had her for a national parks and lab. With the lab portion as long as you did them she really didn't care when you turned them in. She had extra credit assignments all the time worth 20 points. Discussion boards but you don't have to responds to others. This class is so flexible.

She had great communication. Sure, she had some technical issues but don't most teachers do? Our times to do meetings never lined up so I just frequently emailed her and had no issues. She usually replied within minutes and fixed any issues I had. She also read all my assignments submitted and actually commented on them, always positive feedback.

Professor Davis loves what she teaches; she makes oceanography so interesting. While being in her class, I appreciated the time she took to read every paper that I turned in. It was really such an enjoyable class. I would highly recommend taking any of her classes!

I took her for ESCI 1050 and I would take her again if I needed to. She is kind and caring and genuinely wants you to understand the information. Her class is not hard and she gives back good feedback, if you do the weekly work you will be good. Take her!
