She is very cool, and helpful. She seems strict in the beginning, but she is a sweetheart. She is very smart, and has fresh ideas of teaching.

Overall one of the best teachers for English that I have had. She is extremely helpful, she explains everything, and she makes sure that you know how to write a proper essay.Some of the stuff in this class seems really easy. Professor Dougherty will make sure to give you constructive criticisms for all of your writing assignments.

She's a good teacher. She keeps the class interesting with fun activities. The only thing I don't like is her grading technique. A paper will be worth 10 % of your grade and the paper itself is only worth 10 points. So, if you get 1 point taken of your paper 1 % is knocked of your entire grade. After awhile it adds up, but other than she's good

I took her during summer of 06. She is fantabulous...very outgoing, friendly, approachable, and very nice. One of the best professors I've ever had. She really cares about her students and tries to help them out the best she can. Her lectures are valuable and she does her best to make sure everyone gets it. She's wonderful. :D

I took her for Engl67. She is an excellent teacher. She will help you alot with your essays and teach you how to write them really well. I recommend her. You have to do her hw though, if you don't then you won't pass her class. Her hw is easy though. Take her class, she's fun.

she's young n goodlooking. she's nice, bubbly and clear. pretty easy if u work hard, but there's gonna be a lot of writings. dont worry she grades pretty easy. sometimes the class a little boring, esp when she goest through grammar things. but she's cool overall, sometime she's easily out of the track when she's teaching, but it was fun. it was just amazing, i recommend her for everyone! someone tht u will love to spend time with, a pretty easy A too, most of the class would be friend! really helpful and nice professor. take her!!!!!

Definitely the best English teacher ever. She doesn't use an english book which is good cause it isn't boring, the book she uses actually makes the class more interesting. What an amazing and awesome professor, if you take someone else you are truly missing out! She is funny and has a good heart and knows a lot about English. She never acts like she is better than you, she is patient and learns from us as much as we learn from her.

Overall a great teacher! She is nice and likes to help out her students. I am a Freshman at the school and she is the 1st teacher I took. I thought she was very easy after I had a difficult teacher in High School. I'm glad I took her and hopefully I can take her again in ENGL 68.

Engl 67 and 68. Gives a lot of freedom in writing essays and has great teaching methods. Gives oppurtunites for tutoring and resources around campus and online. I plan to attend her 1B and 1C courses

I hated engilsh till I met Michelle! She loves to teach English and definitely makes it fun! And shes HAWT! Can't go wrong with that! Don't expect a free ride though. She expects 5-7 Essays which will progress in deficulty as the semester continues. 2 - 3 in-class essays, so bring your game face.

dougherty really wants her students to do well. the curriculum is interesting and she makes everything clear and simple to understand so that taking exams are a breeze. it's nearly impossible to do poorly in this class.

THIS PROFESSOR ROCKS. Works for any type of learning style. I wouldn't say that her class is super easy to pass. i think it's because she keeps everything so fresh and interesting that we enjoy doing the work. The class turns into a big family and it's great. She's memorable. Teaches wonderfully and is happy to help students understand the work.

EASY A. She is really nice, she's pretty, and she knows how to teach. She's a bit weird but she's chill/fun/interesting. She grades really easy. I was able to skip 1A and hadnt taken an english class in 3 years and I have an A right now. Take her hyrbid class! Not too much E.C. and the essay prompts are ez (2 in class 2 research papers)

this class is really easy... basically high school level analysis and homework... teacher is helpful and encouraging and greades generously. its pretty easy to get a good grade in this class, unless you literally do not do any work

Professor Dougherty is amazing! She is the sweetest person and she really knows how to make a class fun and interesting! We wrote a good amount of essays but I enjoyed writing about all of our different assignments and activities. You will enjoy her class and learn a lot along the way. She is very clear and precise. I took it online and loved it!! We met once a week and she ensured that when we left, there were no questions about the material. Had 2 Research Papers and 2 In class essays with various online quizzes and discussion posts. Do the work and guaranteed an A. And she is very easy on the eyes.

You will get a good score if you do what she says. You will be bombarded with work but don't let that intimidate you.Grades strict on essays. Fun class to join since she is funny and you interact with other students through team challenges and group work. Will send you a schedule with the date of work you will do. Follow them and you will be okay.

I loved this professor! She's so young and down to earth. it's funny because i never really got bored in this class because professor dougherty is just entertainment in itself (not in a bad way). there is a grammar test that you have to study for & a presentation, but other than that everything else is pretty straight forward. love this professor!

Make sure you know how to write an essay, because is the most important part of your entire grade. It is very important to do well on your essays.

The course was only eight weeks long due to being part of the bridge program. In that time we wrote essays in which she gives very clear instructions about with good feedback and gives fantastic lessons. She is a very positive and enthusiastic professor and I highly recommend her if you like to learn in a good and helpful environment.

Again, was only an eight week course as part of the Bridge program, that I also recommend. Very funny and social. Read the first two "Hunger Games" books throughout the semester.

Hands down, one of the best professors on campus! She gives pop quizzes; you are expected to read if you want to pass the class with an A. Grades are based on your papers so take advantage of the help you can get from Ms. Dougherty and the writing center, if you are struggling. Class was always comical and boredom free! Clarity is key! (^_)

This was my first English class and Professor Dougherty is the best professor ever. She is so helpful and really cares about her students. She does whatever she can to see her students pass. My writing has gotten so much better and I passed with a 96%. I would take her class again and highly recommend her. She explains in depth what she wants.

Her positive energy is infectious. Only thing is she assigned a lot Plato/Socrates. I wish there were more diversity--more Hemingway, graphic novels, other authors, etc.

She definitely deserves 5/5 overall ratings. Be expected to do group/partner work EVERY CLASS but it will be fun and chill. Theres someone below saying shes forcing her idea on students, but I do believe what she's doing is correct.

Took her 1A now 1C. You have to do three papers with 1400, 1800, 1800 words. She was really caring and gave many extensions throughout the semester. It is usually an automatic A if you complete all the requirements on the discussion/paper. As long as you can express your ideas it doesn't really matter if you can't write a fancy essay. Slow grader

Professor Dougherty is caring and loving, and she wants everyone to be successful. Our class was asynchronous, but she voluntarily hosted Monday check-in and Wednesday discussion zoom meetings. She offered interesting reading material and gave great detailed feedback on every essay. I am so glad about taking her class. Highly recommend!

I came into this class with expectations of a stress heavy english class, instead I came out more motivated as a student as I ever have before. This professor really cares about her students and is open to providing help/aid whenever she can. Definitely take this professor over any other english profs.

Took her for Summer 2022 for 8 weeks, she has a lot of essays to do and provides feedback on them. She is very specific so be sure to pay attention. Her class was requires a lot of your time but that's maybe because i took it for 8 weeks. Overall not a bad professor and can be forgiving at times.

Prof. D is so sweet and does so much for her students. The course itself was online and short, so it was HEAVY. Discussions every week, 3 essays in 12 weeks. She provides "Advanced Options" to earn a higher grade, but if you do the work, you WILL get a C. Make sure to get those readings out of the way and visit the Writing Center!

Prof. Dougherty is sweet and doesn't hesitate to help out students. There were discussions due every week that were based on a couple of readings (different readings every week). She gives great feedback and offers essay revisions. For an A or B, you'll have to do extra assignments but they aren't too difficult.

Best English teacher I have ever had. She grades everything off of completion and gives great feedback. She is great at organizing her material for every week. After 8 weeks, the work gets pretty light and you have a lot of time to focus on your other classes.

BEST PROFESSOR OF ALL TIME MAN!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY BEST ENGLISH PROFESSOR EVER. Easy readings, Essays are graded on completion not how well you do as long as you meet the criteria. I will always remember this class it's the best. TAKE IT you will not regret it one bit.

Prof. D is super helpful and organized. The workload is manageable with regular feedback on essays. I found unstuck AI really useful for prepping and staying on top of things.

Professor Dougherty was a nice teacher, but her intense grading system made no sense was a ridiculous amount of "extra credit work" for a required class to get a grade above C. With the amount of work to do in other classes, it was so weird as I got 150/150 on each paper and still had to do so much work to get a better grade.
