She gives a lot of info just because she's so interested in everything. most of what she says isn't even on the tests so it's kinda hard to study. She's a kooky southerner which makes class sorta like comedy hour. She is also a student herself so she knows what it's like to be us.
I am not happy with "chelli"(thats what she wants us to call her) at all! she is all over the place going on tangents constantly, gives way to much info. studying for her tests take hours. i do not recommend her to anyone, unless you have ADD and enojy people that are like you. DO NOT TAKE- SHE WILL TURN YOU OFF FROM PSYCH
She's an upbeat southerner who is very lienent. if the whole class does bad on a test she'll curve it tremendously. Shes very passionate about psych but it can be confusing bc if u ask a q. she'll go on for hours, going on tangent after tangent. over all she's an easy grader but can be tough to know what will be on the exam
Kinda scattered I kinda wish she did more prep before class. She's usually late which is annoying when takes away from review time. She is passionate but is lacking in being put together. Needs to stop on the tangents and stick to the material. You can't assume we understand the material when you do.
goodness, she looks amazing lets get that out of the way. Now, her teaching skills are passionate, but its tremendously horrible studying for her tests. SHe gives us so much information you dont know what to study. God, she has an amazing body.
She is one of the worst professors in this college. What a nutcase! As ppl have already said she goes off on tangents, has tremendous difficulty explaining concepts, and if you ask her a question expect a 15 min. useless explananation. Yes, she is vivacious but be prepared to teach yourself if you take her. Lots of work and no help!!
Very unprofessional, unrelable teacher. not prepared for this hard course. she test you on things that she never explained. very hard to understand and follow. if yo take this course you really need a lot tutoring or you can use the book because is really good and self explanatory.
Professor Fowler is really passionate about psychology and teaching, however her methods are a bit unsuccessful. She teaches too much for an introductory class, and her review sheets (which should barely be called review sheets) can be 8 pages on average...try not to take her unless completely necessary. She does curve though...

Got an A in her class. I went to her lecture for about 10 minutes, then left. Take it from a down to earth dude like me, dont come to class hoping you'll learn, follow her powerpoint presentations and you'll be fine, thats how i aced the class. Oh , and shes beautiful.

I had her last year for PSY 107.. Wow i couldnt believe all the comments that everyone made because lot of the students in my class said the same thing. I think she is a sweet person though. I like how she is considerate and she tries so hard to make the class fun. I know she is new at teaching but she will become the best professor in Queens collg
Prof. Fowler is a nice person and tries hard to make the class interesting, especially for an early morning class. Her method of teaching, however, is not cutting it. She tests more on what she doesn't cover in lecture and lacks clarification.
Does not know how to properly teach. Makes everything seem hard. Avoid at all costs!!
Talks too fast. VERY energetic. Such a spaz, I have gotten motion-sick watching her. Not exaggerating, she's so spastic it literally nauseates me. Unprepared. Scatter-brained, mixes up info too often. Seems willing to help but makes it clear she has a million other things to do. Tests very hard. I do not recommend her at all.
she seems to really care and want to teach well but she's all over the place. shes unclear alot of the time and her tests are very book heavy even though she says they're not. I would stay away from her if possible. I did well in the class but i worked my butt off.
I took her in Fall of 08. She is a nice person but that doesnt cut it. I Live in Suffolk county LI and got there 10 minutes early, and shed often be late. Many, many times the class would end with a fight between one of my classmates and her. It was mostly because we were just SO frustrated of not being prepared for HER OWN exams. *Avoid*
Keep away if you can, i do not recommend taking her. Professor Fowler is very sweet and understanding yet very unorganized and her tests are extremely hard.I did awesome in her class but most of it was my own effort, I basically taught myself from reading the book from beginning to end.
she makes no sense doesn't help outside of class and makes rude comments when you ask a question. She talks too fast and jumps around in her lectures. makes you take the tests more than once because she has run out of toner (2 out of the 3 tests) and only gives one or 2 days notice. doesnt explain the paper at all and is unwilling to help
Fowler although hyper, does take the time to make sure students do well. She went beyond what is expected of her in helping students, spending FULL days in her office when she DID NOT have to be there. When the class did bad on a test she let us retake it. What else do you want? I found her to be great!
Prof Fowler is not only a HOTTIE but also amazing. People might not agree but I took full advantage when she said "Come make an appointment with me if you need help." Unfortunately other students did not do that and they suffered.

She is hyper. Full of energy. You have to study. She is extremely helpfull. Intense class but she makes it funny. Be prepared the test are not easy but if you put in time and effort you get a good result. she is a fair grader
Very devoted. Not clear in teching in class but after class she is super! Her powerpoints are key. THe Textbook is key too just study them alongside!! Fair grader and actually helps alot. Sleeping in class is not an option. she literally gives key words as to whats on the exam. just LISTEN!!!!!!!!!

Psychopathology is a difficult class, but with Fowler, it is impossible.You would leave this class without learning anything and confused. Reads right off the slides which she have printed off and do not actually set up the projector. I did not enjoy this class very much. Professor Fowler talks extremely fast, she is sarcastic and rude. Her teaching style really sucks and she gets extremely excited over certain concepts and goes on and on. Her exams were challenging, but they are from her pp slides and from the book. Do yourself a favor and do not take any classes taught by this professor. Maybe if enough people do not take her class she will not have to teach there or anywhere anymore. If you are planning to take psych 221 or 107 with her, you should rethink that. Psych 221 is not an easy class, and a ton of information. You will not learn from her,,trust me..Do yourself a favor and do not take her. She is smart but not for teaching. She can not convey information to students and you will not learn. That woman don't have a gram of professionalism, ether of teaching. the worse person I ever met. So the last day of class was 12.20.10 and it is 1.4.11 and she has yet to post grades. Meanwhile I took 4 other classes who have posted their grades and they are doctorate students. What could she have to do that could be more important than her job? Thumbs down. F

Sorry to say, but just horrible. She adds nothing to the lectures. Just read the textbook and study powerpoints and you will do better in this class, no point in attending. It's now Jan 17, she still hasn't posted the grades! Can't teach! Gets classes by getting switched with a good professor at the last minute. If you discover her as your professor, drop the class in a hurry! Doesn't teach well, but has the nerve to give hard exams. Gets exam from a standardized set of questions that she doesn't review herself!

She is a nice person who is passionate about her field. She may come off as rude, but overall she will do her best to make sure you do well. She speaks very quickly and may sound confusing, but just make sure you read the textbook and you will do fine. She gives, LOOOTS of extra credit and re-tests if you don't like your grade. Take her! =)
I took her for 221 this past winter session. It was tough in 3 weeks but i got an A+. Tests are hard but she is very considerate, gives a curve, and offers extra credit opportunities. Overall i was very happy i took her.

Took her for the fall and winter She is a sweet person and does care you just need to show her that you are putting in effort. She is always willing to help give you suggestions and advice. Usually with big classes she will give multiple choice and short answers for smaller classes (short answer is better b/c of partial credit) Got a B+ & A+
She is the nicest person and very helpful. Also, gives a ton of extra credit and will make sure you understand the material. But be prepared to study, the material is difficult.She is really the NICEST professor and often relates the material to everyday life.
She is truly the sweetest person. Always looked forward to attending her class. She would do almost anything to help out her students. Has multiple extra credit opportunities and is a very lenient grader. I would definitely suggest taking her if you are prepared to put in a decent effort.

Do not take her. I'm a serious student with a 3.8 GPA. But I dont understand this professor. She doesn't give you written notes, you have to record her. She expect you to write down notes in 10 sec. Her test questions are very confusing and nothing like the notes. Good think is that she lets u retake it sometimes.
Came to class late and/or unprepared, told us 50% of our grade was going to be based off of a term project which she would spend most of the semester preparing us for. Every class she went on tangents about BS, nobody knew how to do the project, she gave us faulty exams on material never covered in class and didn't show up on the test day.
Her class is difficult but wouldn't have it any other way. It's a psych class people what do you expect English 101? She spent a lot of time helping me when she didn't have to. Would take her again. She's the best
She's a very fun professor. I didn't do so good in her class but it was because of my lack of effort. She was very helpful and even gave me advice outside of class. I might take her class again because I really enjoyed her attitude.
She is VERY clear on what she expects. Study from her notes and read text prior to class. Those that did not read text found it hard to follow her in class. She gave excellent exam review notes and zero surprises on her tests (which were hard but fair). She keeps it fun and definitely not boring.
When it comes to this class a combination of reading the textbook, studying from her lecture notes, and doing the hw will help you. Most of the things on the test are the key things she mentions in class.She keeps the class entertained and her grading is fair. Just work hard so u can earn a good grade and attend all of her classes

Plus she would answer emails and post material at odd hours like 2:00am the night before class at 8:30am?!! how would a normal person possibly see that information in time for class? the work load in this class is UNREAL. each test is 2 tests, tons of online work and a pointless group project at the end IN ADDITION TO a cumulative final. Terrible professor. Makes a simple topic INCREDIBLY difficult. avoid.

She is nice, but can't teach well at all. She teaches the lesson in the last 10 minutes of class, and rambles on about her day for the first 1.5 hours. Her tests are very long, and she talks for the first 15 minutes of test days about things not relevant to the class/test (her commute, her dog, etc.), which wastes time. Would not recommend.
Will not need the textbook, tests come from the notes (sometimes word for word). 3 hard exams (mostly short answers, rarely any multiple choice questions). One cumulative final, group project at the end of the semester. Homework will be from aplia(online which you will need to buy). Put effort and you will be fine.
This professor is a lot of fun. She's so funny! BUT there is A LOT of material to cover & she moves FAST. You can't screw off. Her tests are from her lectures so PRINT her online lecture notes and fill them in during lectures. Review notes daily. Use the book only as needed. Her exams are fill in the blank, so STUDY LECTURE NOTES well.
This class was *not* hard. She taught the material well w/a passion. You need to come to class every day (b/c you *are* in college, not elementary school), write down *everything* she says, print out the lectures, understand everything, and *study* (i.e. memorize) them. Most students complain about her b/c they don't study.
She's nice, but nice doesn't mean squat if it doesn't help you pass. You're going to have to work really hard because sitting in class you learn somewhat, but not enough to actually know what's going on. Disorganized and needs to give practice tests. Stop wasting class time talking about your life or random things. I study, but not it's not enough.
Let me just start with the fact that this class is excruciatingly hard. It is not a class you can just breeze through. If you stick with it, you will pass or maybe a B. She is very helpful and you had to make sure that you are proactive with her. Just stick with it and maybe she's give extra credit or curve the exams..
She's not the best prof, but she's also not the worst. She's pretty disorganized at times and gets side-tracked easily, but she's pretty lenient when need be. There's a bonus project and she does manage to find you points in the tests when you thought you bombed. She's really sweet, and idk if I would recommend, but she's chill. Give her a shot.

Professor Shelley is tough but in a good way. She made psych stats fun and I really enjoyed going to class. I took this over the summer and it was intensive, and she made it worthwhile. She gives amazing explanations and knows how to teach. If you are a lazy student, then she is not for you. Study hard and work hard you will do well. FAIR GRADER :)
Chellie is awesome! I'm not sure if these other people had the same Chellie I did, but mine was awesome. Yes, she gets sidetracked during class every now and then, but it's a stats class! I want to talk about other things for a few moments! Her exams are very tough, but she grades very nicely.
I'm already not good with math and this professor cemented my hatred for it 100%. The work is hard and she gets sidetracked very easily. She gave a group presentation project in a stats class. A STATS class. The only redeeming quality is that she allows a make up exam at the end of the semester, although it starts 10 min after the final.
Do not ever take her, she is very unorganized and unclear, I wish I knew about her before I had her. She made the material bad granted she is nice and kind of cool but her teaching style is bad.
