Mrs. Kehoe is one of the best teacher's I've come across at MJC. Her teaching style actually makes you want to learn. And you will. I would recommend her as a teacher because she's funny, she knows her stuff, and she's always willing to help out! Thanks!
Mrs. Kehoe is the best teacher that I have yet come across at MJC. She has a great teaching style that will encourage you to learn. Her classes are fun, easy, and entertaining. I HIGHLY suggest you to take any of her classes!
Awesome teacher! EASY!! Open bk/notes tests. Tests on reserve, can put in NB. Funny. Makes history interesting & EZ to learn. Very helpful & kind woman. Reminded me of high school days! TAKE THIS TEACHER FOR ANYTHING!!!
One of the best teachers at MJC. Interesting, interactive, easy if you come to class.
Sweetest lady at mjc. open note tests, group work, interactive, busy work with a notebook of hw to turn in for grading at the end. midterm and final. multiple choice. really fair. gives you grade checks during semester. great overall.
Very cool, very easy, and very hot!
TOTAL AWESOME PROFESSOR... she can remember your name even if you are in a class of 300!! i dont know about everyone else but that means something to me... she is VERY easy...the hardest part was coloring inside the lines :) seriously tho she rocks!!!
two group project. one presentation. book review and field report. lots of assignment, but easy to get A.
TOO easy. She's an insult to anyone with intelligence, and anyone who plans to transfer to a real university. She made me feel like I was in kindergarden. If you can't stand someone that doesn't teach at the highschool level, don't take her. I know I wont again.
She is so awesome!!! Her teaching style actually makes you learn! I have learned so much in her classes because of resources she lets you use, retained more inf. too-Yeah, its easy if you put the time and do the work. She makes class fun-definetely recommend her.
She has great lectures, everything is listed on her website. She allows notes and study guides on her exams. Long make-up times for tests, quizzes and assignments. Awesome teacher
Great teacher with a great sense of humor.Easy class if you stay on top of the assignments.Group projects, a book review, a notebook that she lets you use for tests/quizzes,and an observation. The exams are tough(100 obscure questions)and short essay, but if you work with a group you'll do fine.
Friendly teacher, but don't take this class if you want to actually learn about Cali. politics. I felt like I was back in high school (which is a bad thing).
101,104,105,116, PS 101 very esay teacher, just have to stay on top of your school work and the class is fun as well!
Nice teacher. Fairly easy class.
AWESOME TEACHER>> she was a sweetie!
coolest teacher i've had
The easiest teacher ever. You can have notes one all your tests even the final. Plus she's very nice and the class was very fun.
She teaches History 101, 102, 104, 105, 116 & Political Science 101. Michelle is the reason I am a History major. She's absolutely fabulous... She makes history devastating, simply devastating!
Kehoe is awesome just show up to class and she makes it easy on you!!!!!! Dont show up or be late alot will GREATLY effect your grade her classes are awesome no reason not to show up!
She is very nice and understanding. Her class is very easy, in fact she will even let you make up your tests as many times as you would like. She teaches a lot of history classes and she would be my pick everytime.
The best history teacher there is at MJC. If you want any eay A I suggest you take kehoe. Just keep up with the binder and do all the projects. By the way all the tests are take home.
I hated this class. I did not learn ONE SINGLE THING from her lectures. The tests were on reserve, but so incredibly fickle that I found like 3 answers in my book for a lot of the questions. I got an A only cuz of the curve. I would've gotten a C probably. DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU WANT TO LEARN ANYTHING.
My semester with her was absolutely terrible. She was on maternity leave for the last few weeks and bombarded us with pointless busywork that taught nothing. Even when she was teaching the class nobody learned anything. Some people are just not meant to be professors, and that is the case with Kehoe.
Prof. Kehoe has been one of the worst teachers I've had. Though she is a very pleasant person her teaching style leaves much to be desired. She JAM PACKED us with useless work during her maternity leave. I got a great grade in the class, but didn’t learn anything.
Very easy, but we did more pointless work when she was out on maternity leave then we did in class.
I thought that she was one of the best history teachers i have ever had. I learned more from her than from anyone else at mjc. I had her while she was out on maturnity leave and I still think she did exceptional work as a teacher with her circumstances.
Super friendly and very lenient. Tests are given in advance to take notes on, they are tough but not with the entire test given to you a week in advance.
Worst history teacher. You can tell she doesnt care for her students. She did leave for mater/leave and gave the class useless work? If she knew she was gana have a kid and have to leave then why did she even have class?! She should have just stayed home it would have been better of all of us! Dont get Pregnant and leave ur Class!
Loved this class, Michelle is an excellent teacher and makes it really fun to learn history. I would take all her classes!
She really made history come alive! Want to know who is doing who and why? Yes, history can be fun!!!
I really enjoyed the history class. I a not a history person, per se, but I thought Michelle was easy to follow, as she uses Power Point to take notes with. There were some times, like with the worksheets, that I felt like I was in kindergarten, but otherwise a wonderful teacher. She treated everyone respectfully, even us older students.
Michelle is a fun instructor. Her lectures are easy to follow with lots of interesting information. Her quiz and test questions can be difficult so really pay close attention to what she is asking. Take her for both 101 and 102.
I've taken History 101 and 102 with Kehoe. She's an excellent teacher. I always look forward to attending her class. The class is super easy; all quizzes, midterm, and final questions are given beforehand, so there is no reason to fail. By the way, there's unlimited extra credit. Awesome. Easy "A!"
Took her for Western Civ...very easy class and she is fun! She gives you the exam a week ahead, so you can take it home and circle the answers...then you can bring it on the day of the exam and just copy over the answers. Hard to beleive but its true! She very nice and helpful.
The class was easy, the assignments were not hard at all and all the tests were given in advance. Take this class if you're not majoring in History. I am a bit pissed at the fact that it has been over 10 days and she still hasnt put in my final grade. Completely unprofessional, I would expect more from a college professor.
Takes a long time to respond to e-mails. Still waiting for the grades. Easy class otherwise.
I had taken 101 in the summer and LOVED IT! I am not a history major and not too fond of the idea of having to memorize a lot of dates so this was JUST THE CLASS. She wants you to focus more on the events than the dates, gives study guide (actual test) in advance and lets you re-take to get better grade. Can't Ask For More!!! Easy "A" class.
Took the same section at the person who commented before me. Everything that person says is true, but...her class is SO BORING! She is a terrible lecturer and all of the assignments are busywork. If you want an easy A, take her, but don't expect anything beyond the 8th grade level!!!
Her class was just like being back in high school. She is a terrible teacher and lecturer, but her class is so unbelievably easy that if you can't get an A, you shouldn't be in college.
Good teacher, and an easy A.
An insult to college professors. I felt like I was back in middle school, having daily "warm ups" that consisted of word searches and making posters. Lectures were uninteresting and the majority of the time was her literally reading a power point word for word! Did not have an understanding of subject matter.
She is a fun teacher. She does assign a lot younger level school work but I think she wants to make history accessible and interesting to everyone. She was my favorite teacher this semester I look forward to taking another class with her in the future. She has a great sense of humor and I recommend her as a teacher.
A very easy class. The teacher was really nice and the work was fairly easy. This class is not for anyone that is a history major which is what she says. Meet with some people in the class and divide the study guides for the midterm and final so it's easier.
Professor Kehoe was an excellent teacher. She's very kind and willing to help you when asked.I really enjoyed her class. Her instructions on the syllabus were very easy to follow and understand. The grade you get is what you earn. To receive an A, you have to be discipline, organize,a hard worker to accomplish your A.
Ms. Kehoe is a very nice woman. She will help if you ask. That being said I hated her class. She structures her class so she hardly lectures. Most of the class is filled with PBSvideos, sitting around waiting for videos to load or doing crossword puzzles. Childish work, really. I didn't buy the book, put no effort in and still passed the class.
Easiest class I've ever taken.
I took Michelle (she says we can call her that) during the summer. I would say this was the easiest class at MJC. Teacher is really cool. There's not really any tips you need to know ahead of time. Just show up to the first day of class and you're set!
Kehoe is awesome! Very easy going, tests and quizzes are a little tough but she allows you to do take home re-takes to earn a higher grade. Limited homework. Lectures are pretty long, but she breaks it up with little videos in between so you're not dying of boredom. Overall, She's super sweet and really easy to work with. Highly recommend!
Took a summer class with her and passes with an easy A. She is very understanding and work load isn't to bad. If you take her I guarantee you wont regret it.
I was really looking forward to this class and it seemed easy enough with only two reports and a few tests. I felt like you could have skipped the class and just studied for the tests at home. The power points she has are pretty useless compared to the questions she asks on the tests. She was funny, sure, but I really didn't learn anything new.
Did not expect to pass this class but she helped a lot! Make sure you do all your work to get an easy A!
Professor Kehoe is a great professor. She doesnt give out much homework, but she does require a notebook that she checks twice in the semester. shes funny but makes history interesting. She gives you a study guide ahead for all the quizzes and test which helps alot because her questions are sometimes difficult. She accepts late work but marks down.
She was an easy A, BUT her lectures are confusing, her tests don't match them, all she shows is videos and gives you busy work. Group/individual projects all year long so she doesn't have to lecture. Horrible at emailing back for grade checks (not kidding, one time she said "if you emailed me i probably read it but didn't reply)
This class is easy to get an A in mainly because she gives you the tests ahead of time and they're all open notebook. If you want to actually learn history, take it from a different professor because you won't retain any information. We had a group project where we had to present a subject like we were news anchors. It's pretty much high school.
gives lots of opportunities to get full amount of pts to get an A, she's kind, offers extra time and credit to make up for missing assignments, in classroom assignments working with others in class and not too much homework. She's awesome!
She is awkward, and unorganized. She should really think about her teaching strategy. Lecture is very confusing, she just reads off her slides, gives tests ahead of time but good luck finding the answers. Google can't even find them. I had to drop her class mid semester. She says one thing and the book says another. .
If you fail her class then you were trying to fail. She gives the test questions ahead of time AND YOU CAN USE IT ON THE REAL TEST. Same questions; different order. The answers are hard to find, but consider it homework... you get to use it on the test!!!! Very few assignments. Rather boring though. But I hate history.
Mrs. Kehoe is a master in her field and a wonderfully intelligent individual. Speak with her after class and you'll be having an audience with a scholar. In my personal opinion, the class is inconsequential to that fact.
Professor Kehoe is absolutely a great teacher! She clearly tells you everything that you need to do. It's up to you to do the work and not procrastinate. I totally recommend her!
Nice class, it shows how passionate she is about her job and she was very helpful in giving you anything you might have missed from one of her classes.
BEST HISTORY TEACHER EVER!! History is not my favorite subject but she makes it interesting. Show up do the work and put in a little effort and you're going to get an A.
I took her summer class (US from 1500-1877) She used a lot of different activities to keep the class interesting like easy daily warm-ups, during lectures she played entertaining videos to go along with her lecture. She gives TONS of extra credit, allows make-up tests and allows notes on ALL tests/quizzes. Highly recommend her class, so EASY!!
She is a very nice person but can be intimidated by her students easily thus making it a little awkward to communicate. She will get assignments graded at the end of the semester o your grade may look low for a long time. The lectures are just the words on the slides. The tests are from the books, not the slides and the answers are scattered around
Professor Kehoe shows that she really cares about history and gives you practice tests to take home. She also gives you much needed extra credit if you are not a test person. She also speaks about Game of Thrones. Highly recommend if you need a calming class that goes toward your general ed or if history is your major, it's a great class as well!
She is so sweet and lenient on work. Such an easy class it reminds me of high school, maybe less than high school. Easy work and you have access to her tests before the actual test is given (basically get to use it too). If you need an easy GE, this is the way to go.
Test reflect the book not the class. Reading and Tests are completely ON YOU (40% of your grade). Word search's and other condescending activities are given which facilitate ZERO learning. Many poor group projects, none were corrected or reviewed for content so, presentations are historically inaccurate. Not a hard course just pointless. 6th grade!
If you are the type of person that enjoys professors who are organized and are good at communicating I would not suggest this class. She does provide you with exact test before your actual test day but its really not that worth it. She lectures every class but that information doesn't appear on anything, not on tests, quizzes or projects.
Professor Kehoe was a nice professor, but she really does not care much about the academic side of her students over just passing them. I hardly learned anything in the class I took from her, and really if you just show up to the final you will pass. I would say GREAT for getting a requirement out of the way, VERY BAD for history majors etc.
Every day there is an opening activity to put in the notebook and a lecture. She gives you the lecture printout to take notes on. Your grade is quizzes, midterm, final, oberservation paper, book report, individual and group presentation, and attendance. She gives you the tests ahead of time so the class is pretty easy, and she is very nice.
Professor Kehoe is a good professor. Some times she may be a little scattered but if you show up to class and do the work then you'll be fine. Make sure you keep track on your work and keep it incase if it is skipped while being entered into grading. If you do class work and take some notes on lectures then you'll pass the class without any stress.
Professor Kehoe is not only a great professor but a sweet lady. Her grading criteria is more than fair. As long as you stay on top of the work you will easily pass. Her lectures are informative and allow open-note tests. It's a quick class so she can't go over everything, but the basics are definitely covered.
She's one of my favorite professors at the school. Very forgiving on late work, is a good lecturer and nice lady all around. Warning, her tests can be challenging. I have taken a few classes with her now. She's the MVP of MJC.
She was definitely a caring professor, although she did not appear to be equipped to handle remote learning. The course was relatively easy, but very disorganized and disarticulated. I spend a good portion of my time doing either busy work or trying to figure out how to navigate her Canvas page. Nothing was placed in the correct order. Easy though!
This course was frustrating. I took it over summer '21 and found myself constantly hating this class. Two textbooks, sooooo many videos each week(notes are required), lots of projects, and tons of busy work. This class is like being back in high school.
I took Professor Kehoe's History 104 summer class. It's not that bad but her lectures aren't the best. Her lecture is a copy of what she wrote in the presentation. She provides the class more with youtube videos which is your lecture. I liked that the study guide was identical to the exam. She provided the study guide a week early which is nice.
lots of you tube videos and lecture notes that you have to turn in for grading, and activities, have a book report, presentation . a observation paper, and a group project, a mid term a mid term essay, and then for the group project had to watch all of them and fill our a matrix on each one, and turn that in,this was a dual enrollment class
Very easy class. took the 7 week class in the spring. Lots of lecture but she gives you print outs to follow along. would have her as a professor again. She accepts late work and gives good feedback.
Though her recorded lectures and weekly videos take a lot of time she is a clear grader and as long as you finish the assignments her rubrics are very easy. She gives you until the end of semester to finish work.
This class is well taught. She gives you enough time to finish all the work. Towards the end of the semester is when everything is due. Lectures are very clear and informative. Would recommend this class to anyone
Disorganized as far as an online class, lots of busy work and note-taking and you need two books but she offers extra credit
Took her in the fall online and it was really disorganized. Doable but there was some unnecessary finals week assignments. Also take notes on lecture because she does notebook checks. Do notes on google docs to make ur life easier.Theres also 2 textbooks and 1 book of your choosing that we used for a book report.
Don't recommend taking this course online, it's not structured & redundant to get through! Infantilizing busy work. Plus, notebook checks. Many professors at MJC have updated their courses to only use free textbooks/sources & this professor has not, which is OK but she expects you to buy 2 textbooks + have a 3rd one to write a book review on. Lazy!
One of the best professors I've ever had she was incredibly understanding and as far as test and homework , discussion post are the majority of your grade. Take the same class I took in the summer & all you have to know is that there are three big projects due at the end back to back. A presentation, final exam (multiple choice) and a book report.
A great professor! Highly recommend! Not much homework and very easy assignments. Exams, quizzes, tests are all open note.
Theres a couple of group projects here n there, but this is a very easy class and impossible to fail. Theres just a lot of note taking.
She was a very nice professor who gave us a lot of fun assignments and projects to do. Two of the class projects were my favorite parts of the whole course, there was a lot of creative freedom on what we could do. If you want an easy and enjoyable history class, take this one.
Absolutely amazing and chill, would take her again!
Nicest lady ever. If you can, take ANY of her classes.
She is so kind and funny. I would definitely take this class in person once a week if you have extremely hard classes! Just do the major assignments beforehand and you should be good. Don't procrastinate. I would say there's barely any homework, most of your grade is based on the major assignments and notebook checks which is not difficult at all.
