Great teacher!! This transfer class is a great one to take! Makes transfering simpler, and she clears out all the loop holes. WONDERFUL teacher as well as counselor. You will learn alot in this class and it is only eight weeks long!!

I bought the textbook online before the class started, but something messed up so my book never even came...but I was still able to get an A with the extra credit she gives us, the crystal-clear explanations she gives me for my questions, and extremely helpful study guides and practice quizes. She is a great teacher who takes her class seriously, but not so seriously as to make you feel nervous about discussing sensitive topics. The class was relatively easy; I never had to look at the book in order to pass the exams. The research paper seemed intimidating, but I had fun writing it.

Took her for social psych. She is extremely and sincerely nice and cares a lot about her students. She used to work as a councilor and at the TLC lab so she is very open to student's questions/concerns etc. Personally I thought she was fairly easy as well; at least if you keep track of the (about weekly) homework and study when you need to.

literally, the best teacher i have ever had. i changed my major to psych because of her. she is so helpful and so sweet and she provides AMAZING study components. everything is so understandable and she really cares about her students. i took her 5 week summer course and maintained an A throughout the whole semester. Prof LaBrie was a FANTASTIC professor. Probably one of the best I have ever had. She was so passionate about what she was teaching and gave so many opportunities to her students to achieve high grades. Grades were always easily accessible online. Take all the quizzes & EC quizzes, do the HW and study for tests and you'll definitely pass with an A!!

Professor Labrie is absolutely fantastic! You can tell that she genuinely cares about her students. She will learn all her students name and call you by your name...which is not typical. Although she is kind and really wants her students to succeed, her class won't be a total piece of cake and you will need to participate and study in order to get an A. I didn't miss a single assignment in her class and took most of the extra credit opportunists and barely got an A but I learned a lot!

You only do one discussion board per unit. She provides several topics to choose from, so you're bound to find something you're interested in. She gives you study guides and practice tests which are really helpful. I didn't think I would enjoy this class as much as i did!

If you have the opportunity to take this class with Professor Labrie, take it face to face. It most likely is much more interesting that way. I took it online because it was the only one that fit into my schedule. I did pretty well but I feel that I would have done better had I taken it face to face. She is very fair and helpful. Professor LaBrie is awesome! I took her Human Sexuality class (PSYCH 230) this semester and she nailed it. Classes were clear and concise, she made the lectures interesting and she knows her topic. I took her psychology 109 class over the summer and I enjoyed it. There are 4 discussion posts, critical thinking journals and tests after each unit and quizzes and assignments for every chapter. Make sure to do the study guides and practice tests they are EXTREMELY helpful. Study hard and you'll get an A, but if you need it there's extra credit!

Ms. Labrie is a wonderful teacher at COC. She is very knowledgeable in the Psychology profession and the educational requirements. Very understanding and caring. She gives out the rubric that she grades with, follow it and you won't mess up. If you are thinking of being a Psych major, take this class for sure. Only CSU credit, not UC.

I thought her class was going to be difficult, but it was actually a really interesting class. I learned a lot from reading the book and her lectures. Her work load is pretty reasonable too. Don't be intimidated by the proctored exams. Those are also taken online, but at TLC.

She is really sweet & funny. She tries to relate the lessons to your everyday life but you have to do a lot of studying on your own for the tests as she only teaches a small portion. She says she doesn't offer EC "cuz it is a 230 class" but she gives 5 points of it on every test & she never cancels class either. Take her you'll love her!

PSYCH230 was absolutely fascinating. Prof. LaBrie is knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. This class is not an "Easy A" but earning an A is possible if you keep up with the few homework assignments, don't miss class, participate and actually study for the tests. There is one essay, but it's doable. I would definitely take LaBrie again.

She was incredibly intimidating but she obviously knows and cares about what she's teaching. The Inquizitive homework is vital; the test is straight from the homework with a few points from her lecture. Show up to class, take notes, do your homework, and respect her rules.

Syllabus says textbook, but never opened it. All resources you need are online. Pretty easy A. Spent maybe 2 hours a week on her class. Gives clear deadlines and lots of time for you to do assignments. A completely doable class, even for non majors!

I was completely dumbfounded how well she incorporated psychology within her course and although, her grading criteria is still unclear to me, I found the irony in requesting anything other. Great teacher, I took Psych 230 online and it was great. The book is online so you don't need to buy it. She responds to emails fast. The quizzes and group discussions are really fun, all topics are interesting. Tests are under proctorio but not quizzes. But overall amazing and interesting class.

Professor Labrie is a really sweet professor and she is very good at teaching the material she presents. The material in this class was fascinating and she taught it very well. Her class is a little bit challenging as there is one major essay her class has to write, but she lays out all the work that is needed very clearly.

Easily my favorite professor at coc. The content is actually interesting and most of the assignments have a "built-in" grace period. All the quizzes and assignments are found on quizlets and the discussion boards are interesting if you take a bit of time to do the work. Tests are also straightforward :)

I loved this class! I took this class Fall 2020, and I honestly felt like I learned a lot, without feeling to overwhelmed. You definitely have to do the reading from the textbook, but if you do youll do great on the tests! Shes super approachable and understanding if you have any questions too!

This was a very difficult but fascinating class. I did not take into consideration how dense the pace and material would be for a 6-week class, but I loved this class. Prof. LaBrie gives out a lot of work, but it is all thought-provoking and very interesting. I loved this class and felt comfortable in reaching out for help whenever I needed it.

Professor LaBrie provides quality feedback and participates in the required Discussions engaging with students nicely. The textbook pretty much teaches the material, but Professor LaBrie includes fascinating required and suggested articles, videos and her own lecture notes to help students master concepts. The curriculum and textbook are superb.

This was a really interesting course and it only got better because of the professor. She is very organized, understanding, caring, and an overall great instructor. Amazing professor! Took the 5 wk course, heavy workload, but do your work and you'll pass. Two extra credit opportunities. All assignments and quizzes have a 24hr no penalty grace period after the due date. One discussion per unit, 4 'what did you learn' insight, 4 journals (1 is e.c.), 4 unit exams. Definitely take this class if you're up for it!

Took Social Psych over summer. Straightforward. Tests are a bit stressful as you have 80 minutes for 100 questions. Discussions must be thorough, get ready to write. Provides good feedback but some of her replies are public so be sure to follow all directions for discussions.

Professor Labrie presents the curriculum in a reasonable way, yet still makes you work with it. Her class requires some sense of self-management, especially for the readings. She has high expectations in a way that makes you want to achieve more. Sometimes, though, she would publicly reply on discussion boards in a harsh, critical way.

Professor LaBrie was very kind and caring. She responds to email quickly and her office hours were helpful. Quizzes and assignments were open book and open note and were very easy, consisting of only multiple choice questions. She has great notes for each section of the online textbook. Also, the exams and quizzes are based on everything you learned throughout the chapter or lectures she provides. Study for exams and quizzes as it is mostly part of your grade. Follow criteria for discussions as well. She gives reminders and responds quickly to emails.

Professor Labrie's class would have been easy if it weren't for the workload. Chapter readings were long but the quizzes were very easy. The main thing was studying for exams every week which were easy as long as you studied except the time limit was only 80 minutes for 100 questions. Discussion boards helped grades too as they're worth a lot.

I took LaBrie for PSYCH-101 100% Online. It was an easy class. Exams are proctored, but easy and the study guides help. There were four exams (I got 75, 60, 80, 85) and I passed the class with an A. There are four discussion posts that are very easy and one extra credit assignment, which brought my grade up about five percent. I def recommend her.
