She is a very cool professor. Her tests are a little hard, but only if you don't study or read the material. It is an easy class--only if you read. She is one of the best psychology teachers you will ever have. Also, take advantage of the extra credit.

Dr. Merwin makes you enjoy the material and the class. She's an awesome teacher, and you can tell she loves what she does. She'll help you if you just go in to talk to her.

Knowledgable. Never be late with assignments, or you will feel her wrath. If she doesn't like you, its all over.

Intro to Psychology is one of the easiest classes I have taken. She really loves her subject and gives plenty of chances for extra credit.

history of psych was somewhat tough, but don't believe horror stories you hear. it's a fun class, and dr. merwin's on top of her game...perhaps if people would put forth at least some effort, there wouldn't be so many complaints...

I don't know why everyone is talking bad about Dr. Merwin. She requires a lot from you, but if you do the work, you're fine. she does not hate men. there were many boys in are class and she treated them just like the girls!

She is a wonderful teacher. I would recomend her to anyone and everyone. Some of the comments I read about her were the exact opposite of what I get from her. Sometimes the quality perceived by the student has more to do with the student than the teacher.

Dr. Merwin does not hate men. She is a great teacher, although there was quite a bit of lecture. Her outside assignments are totally reasonable and her tests are all covered in class. The person who said she should be fired is probably a lazy and close-minded student with a poor work-ethic and a "rule-of-thumb" mentality.

Dr. Merwin is VERY clear on what she expects from you. If you take notes in class, read the chapter, and study the Study Guide (in which she recommends) you will do good. She offers extra credit cards to do which in return helps you do better on her tests. She is a great teacher! She doesn't "give" grades away you do have to study.

She is very organized and informative. As long as you study the required material, there should be no problem. She also offers extra credit.

Dr. Merwin challenges you to learn. Don't take her class if you just want to take up space. Very pro woman, very balanced and fair. A lot of reading but well worth the effort.

WONDERFUL TEACHER!!! i actually had psyc 110 and 120 with her! I LOVED HER!! she makes psyc very interesting...not an easy A, you have to read the book and your notes. But it's easy if you do that. I got an A in both courses and would definitely take her again if I could!!

Dr. Merwin is an exemplary professor! She is always clear about assignments and grading practices, is always enthusiastic and informative, and always injects humor into her lectures. It is extremely easy to earn an A as long as one reads the book; extra credit opportunities are presented for each exam.

Dr. Merwin is my favorite psych teacher. She is open minded and tells it like it is. Some people say she is hard, but I think they misunderstand what it means to be a college student. Although the class was a lot of work...I wouldn't have taken it with anyone else. She makes the class fun and the research tolerable.

Merwin is a great teacher. She relies heavily on the book and lets you do vocab cards for extra credit and she's always available to clarify things. She's also funny and keeps the class interesting rather than just talking for an hour.

Dr. Merwin is a great teacher, and tries very hard to make the material interesting. This class wasn't as enjoyable as my 110 class with her, but it was still a good class. Almost all of the material comes from the book and she lets you do extra credit notecards. I would recommend her!

Dr. Merwin is an AWESOME professor. She's strict about attendance, though, so if you plan on not showing up you'd be better off dropping the class. Her tests and quizzes are straight from the book and if you read you'll ace the class, plus she lets you make extra credit vocab cards for the exams. She makes it interesting even for non-psych majors!

If you want to take personality theory, I recommend Dr. Merwin because she genuinely loves the subject and does well with teaching it. There is a lot of reading required for this course, but it's worth it if you put forth the effort.

Merwin has got the best personality of any professor. However there are not many oppurtunities to bring up your grade if you bomb on of her few tests. Make sure to read the chapters!

Dr. Merwin is a wonderful professor and person. I have learned a lot from her both in and out of class. For those of you who do not like her for one reason or another, take the time to talk to Dr. Merwin outside of class and your opinions may change. She expects you to think for yourself. She doesn't want cookie cutter answers. Be original.

Excellent teacher. Very helpful. Willing to help, inside and outside of class. Uses real-life examples to relate the information. Gives extra credit if vocab words and examples are completed. Encourages for textbook to be read, but her class can be passed without it. Completing the study guide is also a good idea, sometimes questions are used.

Dr. Merwin is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had. She keeps her classes interesting and really motivates you to do well not for a grade but for the sake of learning the material. She will be more than happy to help you with anything you don't understand. And she treats you like an adult!

Dr. Merwin is great. She is very knowledgeable and cool too. The things she says are hilarious. She gives only tests and an extra credit quiz. The book is essential, and her notes are too. Most test questions come from the book but there are questions from her notes as well. One of the best professors at Martin for sure.

Very helpful, she wants you to succeed. If you need help just ask her. The tests are all mc and there was no outside class work. But DO NOT text in her class, even if you think your gettin away with it.

Dr. Merwin is relatable, funny, and sarcastic (which I loved). She made it a very enjoyable class for me, and she's willing to work with the students to help them out. You just have to be sure and study a lo for her quizzes and tests. Other than that, I loved having her as a professor.

I LOVED Dr. Merwin. Almost made me want to change my major and I originally just took the class for the honors credit. Loves people to participate in class and ask questions. She enjoyed curiosity and the students who showed interest in learning. Just read the text for tests, take notes, and you're good! Loved this class!

One of if not the best professor in the Psychology department. She is helpful and fun. She loves what she teaches and everyone she gets to teach it to. Just finished her Abnormal Psych and Film class. If you are fortunate enough to have the option to, take her for this class! Her use of films help to understand the subject much easier! So fun!

She's one of the better professors I've had. She doesn't give test, she gives a quest for every chapter and you can use these written assignments (that aren't mandatory because they aren't graded) you've done on your quest. The midterm and final are both done in a group that depends on the scores you've made so far in the class so its fair.

Dr. Merwin is really nice and will help you with anything. If you want to pass, you need to attend class and read the book. There were four tests and not very many assignments, so you need to study.

She is one of the kindest and easiest online professors anyone could ever take. As long as you do the learning curves and occasionally video activities every week, you'll be fine, but you will have to read the book for quizzes and tests. They're not that hard, though and she will give test feedback and info if necessary.

I loved this professor! I actually enjoyed going to class lectures. She doesn't give quizzes, but you must complete the online learning curves which are very easy. Test will be easy if you study the study guides she makes. She will give many opportunities to get extra credit! She really wants you to do well in her class!

Always my favorite professor, she is so helpful and will answer your questions in class and sometimes draws pictures on the board. Wish she taught all my classes
