She's new at CSUCI, and she's the best prof on campus! Brilliant, funny, caring - I loved the class. I loved going to class.
Dr. Moon isn't a bad teacher per se. she was just not at all interested in the subject, learning and cognition, and her lectures were disjointed and somewhat boring. i wouldn't recommend her for this class but may try her for another. and the book sucks!
She is bitter and very mean, she seams to only fancy the men in class to women she responds dry and unfriendly. I took her because I had to, not because I had a choice.
Engaged the class into interesting discussions
I've taken 2 classes with Dr. Moon and think she's wonderful. In this class especially she really knew the material and kept us engaged and interested. She offers a lot of help with the labs, coursework, and the research paper. I truly enjoyed her class and look forward to taking her again.
She tried to scare us off the first day, but for those who stayed, it was a very knowledgeable class. She is fun to listen too, and great for the psychology majors.
Dr. Moon class was horrible. The book was as dry as her lectures. She does power point slides and she does not give you enough time to copy it down. She is lazy. She could but it on blackboard. Alsp remember that she is flaky and her word does not mean**** because she is lazy.
she gave us open book tests. no homework or papers or presentations or anything like that. didnt learn as much as i'd like but it was an easy class and we had some fun disscussions
This professor managed to make sex boring-don't ask me how.She puts up power-point presentations of the same word-for-word material from the book.If she didn't count absences against you-you could literally stay home and read your book-no need to come to class.Tests were all statistics and did not cover the "main points" from class.
This is such a fun class! Although I don't think Michelle was quite open enough for the class (she spelled sex once instead of saying it and was shy about saying someone was a lesbian in a story) it was still an interesting class. The tests are pretty hard so study!
Moon is a fabulous teacher. You can tell she really loves research. She has inspired me to continue in the field of psychology. She is a valuable asset to the Channel Islands staff. But just because she is really great doesn't mean you can slack off in her class. Keep up with your readings
She taught the subject well but didn't know a lot of the stuff in the book, couldn't even pretend to answer some students' questions.
I liked her a lot. I never got the impression that she "fancied" the men. She was really nice and tried her best to make a boring subject engaging.

I learned a lot!
She made this class interesting and fun--she is far and away the most dedicated teacher I have had at CI. She is so avaiable to students!, teaches with humor and intelligence, yet is demanding--in a good way --she know the stuff and makes it come alive. She is the professor most responsible for me taking my work here more seriously--inspiring!!
Michelle is a great teacher that is always accesible and brilliant.
She was a great professor and taught me a lot. She is funny and makes the subject area more interesting and involved.
Dr. Moon was not only really horrible at teaching this class but she was also was never in her office at her office hours, never responded to emails or phone calls. I was not on her good side and my grade reflected that even though I helped half the class through the material because she didn't explain it very well. Nice person, bad teacher.
This is the worst teacher I have ever had. She speaks too softly and reads out of the book. Do yourself a favor; stay home, sleep in, and read your book. She is not familiar with computers, and definately does not know the software program which she is teaching. Don't take her unless you are a young, quiet female.
Just found this site: cannot believe that ANY student said negative things!! She is always helpful, insightful and is extremely knowledgeable! She asks that you DO the work and sets high standards--unusual for this place, I think. She is a treasure!..and this is a methods class!! She's the most professional, informed prof in psych. She's a GEM!
Dr. Moon is warm, engaging, interesting--and she knows her stuff! She asks people in the class to be present in the class--a learning by doing approach that was really helpful for me and those in my group for this subject. She was nothing short of inspiring--helpful and always avaiable. I can't wait to take another class from her!
Dr. Moon does a really great job teaching this class and she truly enjoys the subject. She encourages a lot of independence in the way she teaches the class so people that need to have their hand held probably won't like the way she does it. But she's fantastic, and one of my absolute favorite teachers at CSUCI.
Michelle Moon wa nothing short of inspirational for me inthis class--and this was methods! She is a clinical psycholgista and I can't wait to take her for a clinical course. She is warm, funny and brilliant! She is a role model for me--I hope I can follow in her footsteps as a psychologist!
One of the best teachers at CI! The person who wrote the negative comments about her must have been high on crack. This is a tough class that all psych m,ajors must take. Dr. Moon is the best teacher to take it from - period.
She is a great teacher; her tests are hard but you can go to her office and take notes from them. *Hint* Go to her office, copy down ALL the test Q's and answers, the same Q's will be on the final.
Dr. Moon is interesting and dynamic. She always has funny anecdotes from her professional experience to offer. She has been my favorite teacher at CSUCI so far.
Dr. Moon is interesting and dynamic. She always has funny anecdotes from her professional experience to offer. She has been my favorite teacher at CSUCI so far.
Professor Moon was incredibly helpful, sweet and very dedicated to the success of the class. She gave great examples and really wanted us to understand the material. You really have to read and attend class though to get a good grade; tests were not too easy.
This was my second semester with Dr. Moon. I liked her just as much as I did last semester for Abnormal Psych. She really keeps you engaged during lecture and she's funny. She's fair and she is kind. Her tests are relatively hard. Make sure you do all reading.
She made sure to keep class interesting and fun. She tends to go a little quick with the PowerPoint but doesn't matter because she lectures straight out of the book. 3 tests total, a 8 pg paper, and a small 5 minute presentation. She's so sweet! I'd def take another class with her!
Really knowledgeable and keeps classes fun. I have had her for child psychopathology and abnormal psych..attendance is not mandatory. Lectures right out of book and tests are not too difficult if you do the reading. Also she's really sweet!!
I've taken Dr. Moon for several classes and she is by far the best professor I've ever had. It's not a free ride with her but she is fair and if you do the work she gives you the grade you deserve. Her lectures are interesting and easy to follow. She's super funny and shares personal stories which make the material easy to remember. A+ for Dr. Moon
Dr. Moon is the best! She is such an amazing teacher and is so caring towards her students. I have had her for several classes, and she is my favorite teacher at CSUCI!
super easy and interesting class! only one 4 pg paper due, one group project, and a final which is open note. every class is a huge discussion so she doesn't lecture and doesn't count participation, but she does count absences.
She is an amazing prof. Honestly cares so much about the student and will help in any way she can. I love psychology and taking any class with her makes me love it even more! I also took child psychopathy with her and is the exact same way!
As a graduate student and former student of Dr. Moon, I can honestly say that I really doubt I would be where I am today had I not met her. I truly owe Dr. Moon for igniting my passion for the field psychology, and most importantly for believing in me as one of her students. She truly cares about the success of her students, both during undergrad a
Really Amazing. Really witty and doesn't hold anything back. Honest. Tons of book work but nothing you can't handle. Definitely would take a class again from her!
Loved her, loved the class. She is fantastic, funny, a great teacher, and will answer any and all questions. She gives great examples and everything is clear. Given the chance, you should take her classes. I know I would again.
IMO this was the 2nd worst professor I had at CSUCI, been there 3 years & about a 3.5 GPA. IMO this Prof is an ineffective communicator & does little to properly monitor class discussions, assignments were never entirely clear, depended much on the help of other students to ?decipher? what this Prof wanted?steer clear would be good advice.
Dr. Moon is by far the best professor I have ever had. She is an all around amazing, sweet, and helpful person. This was the third class I have taken with her, and I am taking another next semester. She loves what she does and passes it on to her students. She has made my love for psychology even greater.
Very funny and laid back teacher. BUT i would not recommend this class to anyone. Final grade is made up of tests and one homework. The tests are so hard and the anwsers are so specific it seems impossible to get them right. This class makes you feel so overwhelmed and she doesnt change her style at all to help those who are confused.
Dr Moon's lectures are never dull and she is very funny and laid back. It's never too serious in class. There are no assignments, just tests that your final grade is based off (which sucks). Tests aren't too bad if you study really hard. Overall her classes are good!
I love Dr. Moon! I mean, you really have to work hard to get an A but it feels oh so good to know you earned it! She is amazing and passionate. She makes the subject interesting and tells stories that help you remember disorder. She really is helpful and cares about her students. She made me really passionate about the subject.
great teacher. makes it all come alive...what could she do to make it any clearer, she does expect you to study and work hard. duh.
LOVE HER!!!!! She expects her students to put forth the effort...wouldnt any good teacher? Attendance is not mandatory, HOWEVER she does pass around a sign-in sheet from time to time, and it counts toward the test. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I'm taking 2 of her classes next semester.
Dr. Moon is a treasure. She's funny, brilliant, and a REAL clinical psychologist. She knows her stuff that's for sure. The best psych prof I've had!! I loved my course with her.
Every person that I talked to after signing up for this class told me good luck, half of her class does not pass! Final is close to 200 questions, it is lengthy. Only has 2 hw assignments, one is a research paper out of 20 points, and the other is a match/fill in the blank! If you choose to take her, all i have to say is "Good Luck"
Though this professor is funny and easy going, the course is difficult and should be tought by someone else. Professor Moon does not relate the lectures to the exams and the finals. Her clarity of the class is way off and does not seem to care about the students work and how hard they may try in the course. DON'T TAKE!!!
Basically sink or swim. 2 insane tests and the first 1 is after the drop date so you dont know if you should drop or b/c you dont have a grade reference. Not willing to take time to help students individualy. Insane class. She treats it like a graduate school class. Take another teacher were you work less and get a better grade.
She is the best professor I've taken at CSUCI. She cares about students, and make the content so interesting. The tests are straight from lecture and the book. You just need to study, but it's not too hard to do, as the content is so interesting!! She is fantastic.
She is a great professor. Her exams aren't hard if you study. They're highly based off her lectures and some of the book. Attendence isn't mandatory however it is highly recommended.
she's a great professor, best I have had at CI, will look forward to take more classes with her. Do the work, read go to class and you will get a good grade.
My favorite Professor at CI. I have taken 2 classes with her and will have her again in the fall. Go to class, put in the effort to do the work, and study. Her tests are not easy, however, if you study you will do well. She will bend over backwards to help students. Love her!!
Dr. Moon is a good professor. You will learn a lot from her. Be aware she gives extra credit points for notes. Gives call out number to put on notes. You have to attend 11 or more classes to get credit. She allows no electronic devices in her class. If you get caught, makes you leave can't come back till you seen her in office.
Awesome professor! Her lectures are very interesting and she is clear about what she expects from her students. Make sure to attend class if you want extra credit from the notes. I'll be taking another class with her in the Spring!
Professor Moon is nothing short of inspirational. She reignited my passion for psychology. She's extremely knowledgeable, interesting, engaging - and dedicated. By far the best prof I've had at CSUCI!
She is AWESOME! Very clear in what she expects from you. There is a lot of reading to be ready and there is only one exam which is the Final. SO, make sure that you're notes and other assignments are done well so you have some extra cushion to fall back on in case you don't do well on the final.
I've taken her for ClinicalAbnormal, Child Psych, and now Parenting. She is AMAZING. She cares about her students and wants them to succeed in any way possible. Her lectures are interesting and she keeps you engaged all throughout. No matter what class I take with her I end up loving it. Definitely take her!
Worst professor I have had. Very hard class. I would NOT recommend her for PSY 313. Yeah she knows her stuff but it's not even worth it if the exams are impossible to do well on no matter how much reading you do. 3 hard exams, a final (worth 200 points!), 1 research paper, 1 easy HW assignment, and 22 points of Extra credit if you take notes
She is a very nice professor, but she expects you to put in 9 hours a week of study time outside lectures. Quizzes are HARD! You really have to study for hours and memorize specific diagnosis. You can upload notes for extra credit. one easy homework assignment and a research paper. cumulative final . She really knows what she is talking about.
If you are a psychology major and you want to know your stuff, take her! She's amazing, very knowledgeable, and truly wants you to understand the material. Tests are tough, but they're doable if you read on time and study enough.
This class was almost 3 hours long but she made her lectures all really interesting. For most of the class you are going over a powerpoint but she does elaborate and she does have really interesting stories and fun examples. There is only 1 hw assignment, 1 paper, and tests. Study guide provided and going over chapters should get you a good grade
Never take her for this class. She is extremely vague on what she expects out of you, unclear on how she wants her assignments done. Her tests are tough, doesn't matter if you read because the way her tests are made it just doesn't work without notes. She can be very rude and talk down to her students, she expects you to already know the material.
You basically come to class, watch a movie, and then write a case study (which she provides the outline for) on the main character. No tests, just quizzes. Be sure to print out the case outline and bring it to the first day of class and take notes on her case study example because it will be the only time she gives you an example of what to do.
Worst professor I've ever taken. Her tests are basically impossible. I am a straight A student and BARELY passed this class. Incredible lecturer- crappy person. Rude in emails and face to face. Told me "I hope you're not going to grad school because you're unteachable" after one email exchange. Gives basically no guidance on the paper. good luck!
Basically you watch a movie and write up these case studies on them. Dr. Moon is very knowledgeable in her work the only problem with that is she expects everyone else to meet those standards. She is not clear so make sure 1 day of class to take good notes on case study because you will never see that example again. Her quizzes are not easy.
Had a bad experience. I have done well in all my classes and even though I studied a lot in this class it didn't help much. Her tests were just too hard. Basically your whole grade is based on these tests. Her research paper is only worth 15 points! She's pretty rude in emails and I would not recommend taking her.
I learned a lot in Dr. Moon's class, but this was mainly due to the fact that I read the textbook. Her tests are fairly difficult, if you don't study good luck. Her research paper was only worth 15 points. Overall there are 3 tests and a cumulative final close to 200 questions. She offers extra credit for attending class, so go to class.
I took her for PSY 313 and it was one of the hardest classes I have taken. You have to read a lot and memorize so many disorders. From what I saw most people had a D or C until the end, which was raised because of the extra credit for attendance. You only get it if you go 12 times no exceptions. Theres a 5 page paper worth 15 points.
Moon was great! She explained the subject matter well and treated her students with respect. She kept the class interesting simply with her personality. She offers a lot of extra credit, so take advantage! Her tests aren't easy, but some studying will enough.
4 quizzes/ 1 hw/ 1 final READ EVERYTHING IN THE CHAPTERS & ATTEND CLASS FOR EXTRA CREDIT. She is strict about the extra credit, technology, & phone policy. Although, she helps out whenever she can and is very passionate about her career. TAKE NOTES OF EVERYTHING. Some things she takes out for the quizzes. Makes u take 4 quizzes but only grades 3.
This lady is a crack up. Such an interesting individual and carries her class through her unique humor and fantastic personality. Her demeanor alone is enough to make the class interesting. She does NOT put up with any crap so if you're going to her class to mess around dont even try. If want to learn AND want to have fun, she's your girl for sure.
This teacher gives great lectures and is hilarious. I was happy that I picked her for clinical and abnormal. You learn a lot of cool things in this class!! I would totally take her again and absolutely recommend her.
I LOVED MOON! SHE IS HILARIOUS AND SMART AND FAIR! IT WAS A BLESSING TO HAVE HER. SHE LOOKS LIKE SARAH PALIN LOL. SHE IS VERY INTELLIGENT TELLS COOL STORIES IN CLASS AND DROPS YOUR LOWEST TEST SCORE. I WISH I COULD TAKE HER CLASS AGAIN!! JK/MAYBE ALSO SHE GIVES EXTRA CRED FOR ATTENDANCE I LOVED HER
There were 4 quizzes, a final, and 1 HW assignment. She gives up to 24 extra credit points for attendance. If you don't attend class you are going to be lost on what to study. Doesn't post PowerPoints. No laptops allowed. LOTS OF WRITING. Overall, funny teacher, but I am an A or B student and ended up getting a C In the class. Study study study!
READ EVERYTHING. Go to class for extra credit, bumped my C+ to A- final grade! Ask questions during lecture, she's very helpful. Hardest part is reading every DETAIL in the chapters for her "quizzes." Do QUIZ DEBATES, lets you fight for your answer on the questions you got wrong on the quiz. When you sign up, BE READY TO WORKKKK. Good luck!
She sis a tough cookie, and in her three hour lecture, I laugh and learn a lot! It is hard to look at your grade and not get what you deserve, but what I have come to realize is that she is not a tough grader, she is a fair grader. Study, study study! Whether I got an A or a C, I would take her again because she is funny and motivating.
Dr. Moon is awesome! She is so funny and very helpful when you ask questions. Her tests are pretty hard because the subject matter is difficult to learn in a few weeks, but if you ask her about a question on the test she will basically give you the answer. Go to class! you get up to 28 extra credit points just for turning in notes. Amazing!!!!!
Dr. Moon is an amazing teacher who truly cares for her students. She always encourages students to stop by for extra help in her office hours. She does give tough tests but I believe they are fair everyone should have to do some work to earn a good grade. I would def take her again or recommend her also her lectures are awesome and she's so funny!
IF YOU'RE A PSYCH MAJOR TAKE HER FOR ABNORMAL! She is not easy but you will learn the material. She is a practicing clinical psychologist so she really knows what she is talking about and tells funny stories. Make sure you read since she goes through the slides quickly. Upload notes for extra credit. Tests are tough but if you study you'll be okay
I had to really, really work at this class. Some days she is in a good mood and class is fun and entertaining, other days she is in a bad mood and being in class is like walking on eggshells. When she gives examples from her practice, they are applicable, helpful, and usually funny.
Fair professor. Three non-cumulative tests. Cumulative final (questions from prior tests). All multiple choice and matching. One homework assignment (credit/no credit). Goes through the notes quickly; doesn't allow access to them. Notes are from the publisher and straight out of the chapter. Reviews tests afterwards. Upload notes for extra credit.
Professor Moon is pretty laid-back for the most part. Lectures were ok. I did have a hard time hearing her during lectures. She talks very quietly so sit in the front if you can. Doesn't allow students to go over graded tests in-depth. If you want direct feedback, go to her office hours. TURN IN NOTES for EXTRA CREDIT, you will be glad you did!
i love moon!!! she is one of the best professors i have ever had. she is very knowledgable and takes the time to help you and provide you with examples. Yes, the class is watching movies and writing up case studies. But if you are wanting to go into the field, THAT IS SO HELPFUL!! I also took her for clinical and abnormal, she was great then, too.
I really adore this teacher! She has been my favorite on campus so far. She is a tough grader ,but that is because she wants you to learn the material. Her classes are usually shorter then arranged, but don't let that fool you into thinking you wont put just as much time in it.
She has amazing & funny lectures. This class is super interesting but doesn't mean easy, I had to really study for the quizzes and still only got B's. There is a high correlation between attending class and grades. Extra credit for attendance. The grade I receive is EARNED and I love that more that an easy A.
Professor Moon is pretty great, for abnormal she said that attendance wasn't mandatory but in reality it is because the class is test heavy and all the test questions literally come from her lectures. What I would recommend is that you take notes and then when studying follow your notes and whatever she mentions in class you study further
Best professor at this campus! She is so incredibly knowledgeable and can answer any question related to psychology. Her lectures are never dull and you can't help but absorb the information. She tells hilarious and relevant personal stories that actually help you to learn the material. Her exams are very fair and not difficult. Take her classes!
Took her for an ethics class, the class is mostly participation where you sit in a circle and talk about ethical issues. 1 group "give back" paper, term paper and an ethical debate paper. She is a good professor but beware she can be dismissive, rude and sarcastic at times
I took her for an Ethics class. Super easy. Beware of the ethical dilemma paper though and ask questions if you don't understand it. Sometimes she doesn't explain herself very well and you'll end up doing the exact opposite of what she wants. Read the books and take notes, you can use them on the final, so make sure they're packed with info.
Clinical & Abnormal Psych has lots of material. STUDY. Attendance isn't mandatory but you'll miss a ton of material and extra credit for attendance that can absolutely save your grade. Moon has a way of making several answers on a question sound so similar, that's what nearly killed my grade, be careful. She's nice though, & willing to help!
Professor Moon is a good professor don't get me wrong. She is clear on her expectations. The reason of my bad review is because of how moody she is. She first says its okay to ask any questions you want and to feel comfortable with her and then she explodes on you for asking about anything to be clarified more. Tests are hard and dramatic.
Honestly I adore Dr moon shes my spirit animal. Shes super laid back and really understands how students are feeling and what were going through and tries to accommodate to our needs. There were no essays for this class, all you need to do is study and do well on the tests and read the book but you wont get docked points for not reading.
I really enjoy Dr. Moon's class and look forward to her lectures. The tests are pretty difficult and the class is test heavy but I feel that the class is worth taking. She has great experience in the field of psychology and makes her lectures very interesting. I would recommend taking her class, especially the abnormal psychology one.
Attendance is transferred into extra credit, you pretty much just screenshot the notes you took during class. Explains a lot about psychology, helps you with exams and preparing for them. Good professor, try to take it without being in a lecture hall. Really nice and has some good stories.
I adored Dr. Moon! This was my first semester at a university and i had heard a lot of good things about Dr. Moon but i had also heard that her class was super hard. I made flashcards through out the class, took detailed notes, read the chapters, did the extra credit and I ended up with a 97%!!!!!!!!!!
Very rude towards people at times for no real reason. Sarcastic answers to serious questions is not uncommon. Instructions confusing.
I thought Dr. Moon was tough and definitely didnt sugar coat things but at the same time was a really good professor, you just have to be willing to put in the time studying. Attendance is offered as extra credit and she really wants to help you succeed in her class. Also strict about technology use in her class, no phones, laptops, tablets etc.
Was not an easy class but Dr. Moon did a great job letting us know what material was to be on the tests during lectures - so go to class (she gives extra credit for making it to class). Extra credit also given if you join a study group. There are 3 tests, 1 final and 1 HW asgmt. READ AND STUDY! and you will pass no problem. Would take her again.
I loved Dr. Moon! #1: DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT use cell phones in class, you are delusional if you think you can get away with texting, etc in her class. She will call you out with no shame. After this semester, she will likely change her "extra credit" policy since she noticed people were cheating. Have respect for her and stay off your phone!
Her class is simple but she is totally unfair as a student that attended all her classes I could honeslty say she does the minimum she has to do to get her paycheck from the University. She does not care about you period she may seem nice and likeable but is there for herself not for the student .
She doesn't post the powerpoints to canvas & you cant take pictures of slides (cause she might be in the pic). No laptops or phones allowed. She will stop the lecture to point out a student on their phone. She gave an extra credit code - but threatened to take away EC when she realized missing students got it from their friends. Her ego>education.
I really enjoyed her class. The material was interesting and she used a lot of examples from past clients which made it easier to understand. The tests were kind of hard but she offered a lot of extra credit which helped. Attendance isn't mandatory but it is for extra credit. People were cheating this semester so her extra credit might change.
If you show up to learn the material, you will enjoy the class. This is college and she isn't there to coddle your ego, she's there to teach you the material you need to know. If you are a serious student and you're willing to study and take responsibility for your own education all will be well. Look elsewhere for grade inflation.
Im not personally a fan of Dr. Moon and her policies. She doesnt require attendance, and honestly, dont waste your time going to her class. As long as you read the textbook (and/or watch lecture videos on YouTube) you can pass. I got an A- and only ever went to 2 classes.
I LOVE DR. MOON. Probably one of my Favorite prof's ever. She really cares about her students and on test review days she GOES THROUGH THE TEST WITH THE CLASS to make sure you study exactly what will be on there. If you ask a Q. during a test she will give the whole class the answer. She is quirky and fun and I really enjoyed this class. No Phones!
Dr Moon gives examples of past clients, and makes you laugh. One thing that sets her off is talking! and cellphones! don't have those out! she will call you out for that. She hates drama!!Don't bother going to her office hours, if you do shes rude to you if you ask her a question, yet she says to ask her questions. Take another professor.
I actually really enjoyed Dr. Moon's class. Most people have problems with her no cell phone policy but seriously, if you can't spend a couple hours without using your cell phone then that's your problem. She's not one of those professors who babies her students, but it's absolutely possible to do good in her class if just do the work.
Loved taking courses with Dr. Moon. I've taken in person and online, both were awesome. She is clear on what is expected. Slides and lectures are helpful. Get ahead on the reading before you attend class. Lectures are interesting and heavy on information. Online courses had a paper due each week on a question revolved around information in Chapter.
When this class was face to face, she would get annoyed if she sees students out with phones or talking, honestly if you cant keep quiet or can keep your hand off a phone for just 2 hours thats your fault. Her lectures are so interesting. Love the stories and examples she tells us.
Dr. Moon is very nice, and funny. She would tell us stories of her clients, that was my favorite part of the lecture. It's very hard to hear her so sit real close to the front of the class. Don't be on your phone, she'll call you on it. Don't talk during her lecture either. I actually liked both of those policies as I'm easily distracted.
Just take her class. Any class she teaches, I highly recommend. There is a lot of papers but I like papers more than exams. She replies to emails fast, really caring, kind, and I definitely wish she taught every class. Amazing professor.
You definitely need the textbook. Every chapter you have to write a summary of at least 5 pages. BUT there are no exams, not even a final. The final is a project. It is definitely tedious writing huge summaries. BUT it makes it worth it spending all that money for a textbook and I actually absorbed so much of the information.
Any class of hers I recommend. I took this class as an asynchronous. She had 4 exams (one per month) and an essay as the final. She was so sweet in her emails and gave amazing feedback. Pretty easy grader too
I recommend her asynchronous class! 4 exams, 2 papers, and 1 final assignment that is full credit as long it is completed! Overall, super easy class! Her lectures are helpful, and she does suggest the textbook, but I never read it. No late work or extra credit, but she gives PLENTY of time to complete everything and sends reminders!
Honestly a great class and professor. It was all online, and only had 6 assignments. 4 exams, an essay, and a "final". Each assignment was available from day 1, so you could work at your own pace.
Awesome professor with straight forward expectations. I learned a lot in this course even though it was online. As long as you learn what you read and do all the assignments on time you will do well. I enjoyed learning about the material, and that made this class even more enjoyable. I would definitely take a another course with this professor.
Absolutely love Prof. Moon! Her lectures are really informative and she's so funny. She'll give real-life examples about stuff from the textbook and will answer any question you ask. Only assignments were three exams, a final, and a film project. You can tell she is really knowledgeable about this area and cares about your learning.
Dr. Moon was an amazing professor, very knowledgeable as she works in the field. She is open to supporting you in reaching your full potential. Lectures were not mandatory, HOWEVER reading the entire chapter and taking your own detailed notes is important to your personal success. No need to take notes in class just enjoy the lecture/discussion.
Shes a great professor, not too many assignments, just exams and the final. You definitely need the textbook.
Her lectures were always so sexual and not in a funny way. There are 3 exams, a movie project and a final assignment. She also is not great when it comes to Canvas, the class was constantly running into problems when it came down to exams. I liked that she didn't give homework, but she is a character for sure in class.
I am not one to be picky about professors, I typically get straight A's and I struggled with this class because of the professor. It is straight forward, each module has 3 2-page essays and 1 quiz and you can complete it at your own pace but be prepared to teach yourself. Quizzes are hard, not learning info and trying to do quizzes is even worse.
Took professor online asynchronous Fall 2023 and was overall an easy and very insightful class. She is available to help at all times and has interesting lectures. She isn't much of a tough grader and the assignments and tests aren't dreading. Highly recommend taking any of her classes!
I am dyslexic and it takes me a minute to read the questions and then answer. Most of her tests were fill in the answer which also took a bit more time. I have enough trouble with multiple choice. So this was a class I loved but one of my second worst grades since I started this education journey.
Knowledge checks and Quizzes. The knowledge checks are super fast, you can use your notes but honestly you don't have time with the amount of time allotted. Make sure you read and take notes on the lectures. I really liked her set up on cavas, easy to see everything. No extra credit
Professor Moon runs an engaging class with helpful lectures. Though the textbook is required, using tools like unstuckstudy and ChatGPT can make study prep easier. Attendance is mandatory, but the workload is manageable with a few exams and projects.
This class is easy if you are good at taking notes. No quizzes, tests, or final. You need to complete 6 pages of notes per chapter, which are due in the span of three weeks, plus a reflection assignment each module. There are also 3 easy projects. Professor cares about page count and how much info you include.
Dr. Moon is relaxed. She provides clear lectures and reasonable tests, especially if you keep up with the book and her lecture notes. She is supportive and compassionate. Just read the chapters, and you'll succeed.
This professor is excellent! Her lectures are interesting, the assignments and grading are straightforward and she checks in frequently (weekly announcements). TIP: test questions are mostly from her lecture slides. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend taking this professors class. From the beginning of the course, it was very organized and I never missed an assignment.
Took 315 as an online class, it was a cakewalk. All modules are accessible day one, so I finished the class a month early so I could focus on my other courses. Moon is accessible easily through email and very knowledgeable. If you're not super interested in taking this irl, take it online with Moon, it's super easy with just a bit of effort.
I love the topic of abnormal psychology, but I did not love this class. The way she designed her class was not for procrastinators. You have three weeks to do three chapters, and then a quiz. These quizzes are your grade. I made this my back-burner class, and regretted it when the third week came. Also, not understanding when you have tech problems
