Biochem is a hard class in general. Pozzi is all about learning concepts. She tests you by using the foundations and applying it to something you may not have heard of before.

Dr. Pozzi doesnt seem approachable, shes actually really cool. A no BS kind of lady, so dont try to BS your way through her class. Biochem is hard but if you work at it you can get a good grade. I bombed the first test but ended up with a B. This class taught me how to study effectively. While youre in it, it sucks, but I am glad I had Dr. Pozzi

I was scared @ first, but I liked her a lot. She talks fast, but uploads her ppts w/ a few blanks, so it's easy to follow in class (don't go&you'll get lost fast). Exams are application-based, but fair. Recitation is very helpful. If your final grade is higher than any exam/hw combo, she'll sub your in your final grade. I learned a ton. She's great

Dr. Pozzi understands the subject is tough and that she can be tough, but she communicates that to you right away so as long as you meet her expectations you will succeed. Studying weekly is necessary in order to do well on recitation quizzes and to keep up with the material for the test. She truly cares about your success in the course and beyond.

Dr. Pozzi is such a great professor. Yes, her exams are difficult and sometimes even ridiculous, but she teaches so well. If you go into lecture without introducing yourself to the material, you will fall behind and it will be hard to catch up. Focus in lecture, memorize the powerpoints, make the necessary connections, and you should do well.

She is fantastic at speaking during lectures and always has a direction that she is going. Go to class because she goes over a lot of what is on the test during the lecture! I have never respected a pressure as much as I have Pozzi. She's badass and demands the most out of you, which makes you learn the material and also enjoy yourself during class

She moves at a hundred miles an hour during lecture, but one of the better professors I've had. She demands a lot from her students, and she can be a "no nonsense" kind of professor, but as long as you ATTEND LECTURE, you should be set. Also leave a lot of time to do the homework.

Exams are really tough and she moves really fast, but all in all I felt like I got a lot out of the class. She really makes you work for an A, but if you put in the time to learn the material out of class and study at least a week in advance I'd say an A is definitely attainable!

She is one of the most articulate people I have ever met. I was terrified to go to her office hours after I did well below average on the first test, but I was so thankful I did after the fact. She truly cares about every student and how they do in her class despite how it may seem in lecture. If you are willing to work and actually study, take her

Dr. Pozzi is pretty scary and intimidating at first but she is probably the best professor I've taken at A&M. Her tests are difficult but she makes sure you are well prepared and they are all multiple choice unlike other biochem profs. She expects a lot of you but she lays everything out in the beginning so you know what to expect.

Dr. Pozzi was seriously the best professor I've had at A&M. Tests were difficult but were very fair. Apart from the inspirational pep talks she gave us, I learned so much in this class and it was invaluable for the MCAT. While not the hardest professor, her lecture and testing style ingrained the information in my head! Take her for a challenge!!

Best professor I've ever had at A&M. She's going to make you work for the grade, but through lecture and going to talk to her in office hours I actually learned the material and felt really well prepared for the MCAT. Would definitely recommend, just make sure you're willing to put in the time to get an A

Dr. Pozzi gets a bad rap from those who do not uphold their end of the bargain. She is a fantastic professor who is passionate about what she teaches. Her lectures are lengthy, and the material is best learned if you try to understand (not merely memorize) it. She loves it when you ask questions. I did not need the book. Invest in a recorder.

I loved Dr. Pozzi and her class really prepared me for the MCAT. I didnt realize how hard you have to study to do well, so the first exam did not go well for me. However, she will replace the final with your lowest exam grade so I was able to secure an A. I highly suggest printing out all of the lecture slides and filling in the blanks.

Dr. Pozzi legit wants her students to succeed. GO TO OFFICE HOURS! Get to know her, she loves helping her students (both w course work and also just to become better people/students). I'd recommend reading her Study Notes before each lecture, bc she goes really fast - so being familiar with what is coming your way is crucial. Most invested teacher.

Dr. Pozzi is by far the best professor I have ever had. She provides numerous resources for you to succeed (the study notes are golden) and uses a One-health perspective to teach the material. Take her class if you want to become a better student. Going to class and reviewing material BEFORE her lectures is probably the best advise I could give.

Dr. Pozzi really makes you THINK on her exams. I really learned a lot from her and she prepared me well for the MCAT. She's awesome in office hours and really cares about her students! With the transition to online this semester, she has been one of the most communicative profs. TAKE HER if you can! Can't say enough good things about her.

Dr. Pozzi is one of the most inspirational and motivational instructors that I have come across, during my entire student career. She is passionate, caring, very smart, and genuinely wants you to do good in her course. If you need her, she is there. This is by far one of the hardest/most impactful courses that I have taken. I recommend her class.

She is not walk in a park but she makes you work for your grade! Attend all lectures, make sure you understand the material - don't memorize, it will get you on her final. She is caring and focuses heavily on self-improvement. Her exams are hard so make sure you have a good grasp of the material. Love her as a prof and a person.

She is hands down, the best prof ever. She makes you work for your grade. Biochem is a hard class, so put effort into this. She talks super fast during lectures. She throws EC here and there. SHE DOES NOT ACCEPT LATE WORK! Her exams are MC but you have to understand the materials really well and MAKE SURE YOU INTERPRET THE QUESTIONS CAREFULLY.

Dr. Pozzi is a tough professor, but she is AMAZING. She is clear in what you need to know, her exams are decent if you study, and she always gives extra credit (around 35 pts). She is a great teacher that really wants you to learn. I took her for BICH 410 and 411. Go to her office hrs and memorize/understand her slides, and you will be fine!

Extremely accommodating and kind. The class is hard but if you put time into studying and doing the work it's not too bad.

Pozzi's class is the hardest I've taken at A&M but super rewarding. Her tests have gotten harder since COVID bc of it being online and open note. Make sure to really understand the slides and take the quizzes and hw's seriously! They are worth a good amount of your grade. She also gives generous extra credit and curves each exam.

Dr. Pozzi is an amazing professor/lecturer. I learned so much this semester, and she's always fantastic at answering questions in office hours. Her tests are a lot harder after moving online and the wording can be tricky on some questions, but you'll get the hang of it as the semester goes on. Do not take her unless you're willing to work though!!

I think she is a good professor who cares about student success, but the quizzes and tests were very hard. I watched every lecture video, studied hard, did all the practice problems, and I'm still sitting on a C if I do even a little bit poorly on the comprehensive final coming up. This class is pretty tough.

Pozzi has been my favorite professor at TAMU, and this has been my favorite class because of it. It's hard, and there's a lot of material, but she's dedicated to preparing us for our futures and if you're here to learn and grow, then she's the teacher to take. This class isn't easy, but if you put in the effort, you can succeed.

Dr. Pozzi is incredible, and I absolutely adored learning biochem from her . Her teaching style is perfect if you enjoy professors like Pennington (memorization < understanding/application). It's not the hours that you put in that matter, but the way you use them - blind studying won't get you far. You will learn how you learn best in this class!

Dr. Pozzi is an amazing professor! Yes her class is not easy, but guess what in life nothing worth having comes easy. She provides you with everything you need in order to succeed and if you put in the work, you will do well! I recommend taking this course with a light load in order to do your best and to get the most out of it! Gig 'Em Ags!

Biochemistry is difficult, but Dr. Pozzi does a good job of explaining topics. If you understand her lectures, the exams and quizzes are doable. Make sure to ask questions during her office hours or by email; she is good about answering both. Some test questions are tricky, but there's also bonus points available. Overall, I highly recommend.

Dr. Pozzi is a real gem. There is a LOT of material. It was a little overwhelming at first, but she gives a ton of supplemental material to help. I recommend reading and taking notes over the study notes before you watch lecture. Truly a game changer. She makes concepts relevant to the real world and is constantly encouraging students. Take her.

Be prepared to work your --- off from beginning to end. Her lectures are highly detailed and her tests are just as detailed. Anything is free game. But she is one of the best professors I've had. She is very clear on what you need to know. You need to spend A LOT of time studying but she makes the topics really fun. She can def come off as harsh

This was the hardest class I've ever taken at TAMU. It's also exactly what I needed. I was failing the class up until the final when I finally studied so hard that I did well on the final and a B in the class. You can succeed; just study for this class like there's no tomorrow. Dr. Pozzi's class WILL make you a better student, trust me on that.

I took Dr. Pozzi for both BICH410 & 411. Probably the 2 hardest classes I have ever taken, but Pozzi really cares about her students. Yes, her tests are very detail oriented and she goes fast in lectures, but tbh it makes you work harder for the grade and it made me a better student. She tries her best to prepare us for med school, etc. Def. 10/10

Overall, this class was pretty tough. I made a D on the first exam, C's on the following two, and a B on the final and still ended up with an A in the class. All of the exam averages were failing, but she gave extra credit and curved at the end. I focused more on drawing out the pathways when I was studying and that got me through the class.

I am so bad at chemistry, but she still was encouraging to me. I had her for 410 and stayed with her because she is a good lecturer, who really likes questions. Definitely find a study group, bc you will likely need a support group of people to help you on your weak spots. FYI she will hold the class to a premed standard, but it is manageable.

Dr. Pozzi is a fabulous prof. She loves her job and loves her students. Even though she has high standards, she believes you can do well and is very straight up with what you need to do in order to do well in the class. I'm not preparing to get a good grade, but I still think Pozzi was the best professor I've had at A&M. Take her + study hard!!

I've never had a professor that cares as much about their students as Dr. Pozzi. Her lectures are fantastic, and she gives her all to her classes. Biochem is a hard class, and she doesn't skimp on that - but she provides lots of outside help and opportunities to help where needed. She gives her all to the class with the expectation you do, too.

Awesome professor. You will walk out of this class with an understanding of biochemistry that rivals graduate, medical, veterinary etc. students if you pay attention. Very engaging and forces you to think about biochem on a system level. 411 is a tough class regardless, but exams are surprisingly easy (homework is surprisingly difficult).

Pozzi is great! This class is hard but she does a good job keeping the lecture engaging and checking in on understanding throughout the class. Definitely use the supplemental materials and put in a lot of outside time. She is good at teaching in multiple styles so just ask her and she can reexplain stuff in a different way to help you understand.

Took the summer 5 week miles/5 week pozzi. Pozzi has amazing lectures and you learn a lot, but her study notes are not detailed and so you need to take good notes in lecture. Her tests are very difficult critical thinking style, harder than the quizzes or hw. You have to put more work in, but you learn more. She roots for us, it's just a hard class

It is hard to find a better professor than Dr. Pozzi. Very personable and willing to work with students. Always willing to go the extra mile to ensure content is understood (not just memorized). Down-to-earth and accessible outside of class. In my semester, when an exam average was a little lower than usual, she built in time for another SI.

Dr. Pozzi is the best prof I have ever had at TAMU. The reason some people rate her lower is because they put zero effort into her class. If you are pre-Med/Dent/Vet etc, take Dr. Pozzi as she preps you so well for professional school. Also, people who took other profs for 410 and then had Pozzi for 411 had trouble keeping up in the class just FYI

I have so much respect for her which made studying for the class more worth it - she was actively battling cancer this semester but still managed to teach better than most profs! Def recommend

Definitely the best professor I have taken at A&M. It is a difficult class but she provides all the resources necessary to get the grade you want, as long as you put in the work. She really enjoys teaching and it's so refreshing to have a professor that respects us enough to challenge us, but also tries to get to know us as people.

If you have the privilege to take Dr. Pozzi, do so because she is the best you can have for a course as challenging as biochem. Her lectures are amazing and you are genuinely able to learn with her. The class is tough and you definitely have to work hard, but Dr. Pozzi gives you everything to help you succeed. Take her!!

By far the hardest professor I've taken so far, but she is very knowledgable and very good when lecturing. The material is naturally difficult, and her exams do reflect that, so studying at least 1+ weeks ahead is key. She is very caring for those that actually attend and put in the work to succeed. She offers extra credit for attendance/iClicker!

Dr. Pozzi will force you to understand Biochemistry, not just memorize it. She is always open to questions and cares about the students' understanding. She provides materials and resources for you to do well. Your grade in this course depends on how much effort you put in.

Great teacher, she really wants you to UNDERSTAND the material, which of course is only possible with a LOT of studying. the exams are concept based, not memorization. the only MAJOR critique I have is that the class would be SO MUCH BETTER if she just gave the write-out section exam keys and added graded homework to the course. slides are lengthy.

Dr. Pozzi is extremely caring to her students, especially to those who put in the effort, she will notice it! Lectures are really fun, my only complaint is she talks a little too fast at times. But she provides all the materials you need to do well. You have to study daily for this course to not be overwhelmed. I enjoy Pozzi's life lessons

Study every day for this class. I wish I had put a little more effort into it, but made it out with a B. She is an amazing professor and a great teacher. Provides tons and tons of resources to study with, and is always willing to help. It is important to take it lecture by lecture and reallt dig into it before the next so you don't get overwhelmed.

Biochem is difficult, but Dr. Pozzi provides so many outside resources for students to utilize. Exams are very comprehensive so memorization alone won't cut it, but quizzes are done outside of class and are open resource. She speaks very quickly, but is both very engaging and kind during and out of lecture. Lots of bonus if you attend class, too!

Dr Pozzi will challenge you to learn biochemistry and apply it to many current techniques used by scientists and the medical field. Come prepared to lecture as Pozzi will expect you to be, and you will get more out of it. Don't fall behind, there is too much content for you to try to catch up in. She definitely prepares you for higher levels.

With everything that she is going through, it's exceptional the amount the effort and passion she displays everyday; she is always willing to help. Tough class, but you will come out with an exceptional knowledge of biochemistry. Study consistently and prepare for the lectures, you'll get more out of it and won't feel like drowning to the material.

Dr. Pozzi teaches biochemistry at the level you'll be expected to know in graduate/professional schools, and provides with so much resources. She truly cares about adapting to your own individual learning style, and provides you tips to do well. She makes the class challenging, but you will do yourself a disservice not taking BICH with her.

Dr. Pozzi is the best option you have for biochem!! She teaches the material very well, I think it has made my MCAT studying so much easier! Be prepared for lectures and study for exams ahead of time! I love that she never turns down any student willing to ask a question or seek help, and she always promotes all the office hours we have!!

I have taken her for both BICH410 & 411 and can say that she is someone you can look up to for advice and mentorship beyond class. Yes, the course is very hard and its meant to be med school prep level biochem (i would see the stuff she teaches be on YT videos of med school biochem). Helps tremendously for MCAT and to have a solid base in BICH!

She is intelligent and passionate about biochemistry. She is the hardest prof for 411, but prepares u for the MCAT. You do need to know the material in MUCH MORE depth than for other profs, but it is an interesting class. This is the hardest class I have ever taken and you have to put 110% in if you want a chance at getting a good grade.

Dr.Pozzi taught me much more than biochem. As a nutrition major who didn't have the best relationship w/ food her class healed my relationship & helped me realize food is healing for our bodies. She'll remember you & notice the work you put in! She emailed me right after 3rd exam grades posted to tell me how proud she was :) Best prof & mentor!

Dr. Pozzi is the best professor I've ever had! Biochem 2 is hard, but Dr. Pozzi truly prepares you for the MCAT and graduate school. I consider her one of the hardest professors for biochemistry, but if you can put in the time, you will know it in and out! I studied 30-50 hours per exam. Go to office hours and ALWAYS watch lectures before class.

If you hate yourself take her class, you will learn more than you ever have in any other university class. Admittedly she is an awesome professor. Lectures are posted online and you have all the resources to succeed. If you understand that your time isnt valuable because you're an undergrad who hasnt finished their degree take her.

One of the hardest class I've ever taken! But Pozzi is very passionate and cares for a lot her students. Three exams and a final, most are MC but very tricky so study DAILY. She drops the lowest hw, quiz, and adds 25 pt bonus. Kurowski may be a better choice but Pozzi preps you well for MCAT. Overall, Pozzi made it very challenging but worth while!

She is a HARD professor. If you're going to med school, take her. She's an amazing lecturer and clearly knows what she's teaching. She makes the content interesting, but if you aren't going the medical route or have a heavy semester, take someone else, because she is HARD. However, if you thrive under pressure, she's the prof for you!!

One of the most amazing prof I had at A&M! Her exams are VERY hard and so is the cumulative final. Take this on a light semester if you want an A. Content is more interesting than 410 and lectures are engaging but a LOT to memorize. She's the best prof for pre-health/pre-med. Overall, very passionate and inspirational professor who loves teaching!

BICH411 is the hardest class I've taken at TAMU. I took Dr. Pozzi for both 410 and 411—she's notoriously tough, but her courses are meant to challenge pre-health students. I loved her and enjoyed the course despite the difficulty. I studied 20–30 hours for each exam and earned a solid A during a 16-hour semester. Stay on top of material—it's doable

Dr. Pozzi is incredible, absolutely love her. She is so inspirational and always showed up to teach enthusiastically no matter what she had going on. It's a hard class, but it's worth the experience and education you'll get. Posts lectures on YT, VERY helpful. Watch before class if you can, I often felt lost in class without.

Greatest prof of all time. Even if you're not premed, take her. 410 makes MCAT biochem a cakewalk and sets you up really well for 411. You'd be doing yourself a disservice not taking her.

Dr. Pozzi is funny and cares a lot about her students. Her lectures are great. She knows a lot about biochem. For exams: focus on study notes, online assignments, and practice questions. The way she asks questions can be confusing, so practice as much as possible! Ask questions, she's happy to answer them. Took in summer (no quizzes!)

She is a good professor and lecturer. You get 20 bonus pts for going to class, 5 from course eval, and she does do small curves for the exams. Exams were very difficult. You had to be aware of minor details or have gone beyond what was emphasized/covered in lecture. You will learn a lot, but this class has to be the priority if you want an A.

Dr. Pozzi is arguably one of the best professors I have had, but her class is hard as advertised. You will learn lots of things from lectures but exams will ask you to apply and deepen your knowledge. Memorization WONT be enough. She also prepares you for pre-professional school exams and cares to help you in office hours with anything from lecture

Dr. Pozzi is the best biochemistry professor at A&M and will prepare you well for pre-professional exams. However, her exams are very hard. If you want to do well in this class, go to lecture, pay attention, and take GOOD notes. She does give a lot of extra credit to compensate. Getting a good grade is attainable, but be prepared to work hard.
