little bit jumpy
Turns a smart person into an idiot. Stay AWAY !!!!!!!!!!!
comes in late, makes no sense, but very nice
don't waste your time with this one or kraus, you'll just get deep 6'd after you fall behind in the slightest. not good for engineering majors
Plan on getting an F
She is the best! Good instructor not to mention one of the hottest women on the planet.
Definately do not take 297A! Take 220 instead. They're the same class but she throws in much more useless information.
Always late and cant teach at all. But shes hot.

I took both math 220 and 230 with her and i think she's a good professor. she's definately willing to help you understand the material if you ask. the classes are not easy though, so you really need to make sure you keep up in the classes.
I had both math 220 and 230 with her. She is a good professor and more than wiling to help you if you ask for help. You have to make sure you keep up in the classes though, because they're not very easy.

I was pledging and still got a decent grade in this class. It's not hard.
just don't take this class with her.
If you've never seen calc, dont take her you will be lucky if you get a D. REALLY HARD. She is helpful, but her tests are impossible and She goes through stuff so fast, and stands in front of the notes on the board, I was lost the whole class.
She was not helpful at all in class. When challeged about a test she had it out for me the rest of the semester... DO NOT TAKE HER!! if you have to, sit in the back of the room and shut up.
she is terrible
very kowledgeable
OK I admit she would be horrible for lower level math, but at the upper level she is one of Behrend's best. Don't expect it to be easy, but if you work hard and get help when you need it, you will do fine.
very good teacher
Her class is not bad at all i have no idea what all these people are talking about i think shes a good proff
Great teacher. I had her for precalc too. Do the homework at least to the point where you understand the concepts and you will pass easily. Her notes are excellent. She opens her eyes really wide though. Best math teacher I've had, made me like math.
Gets the class involved with solving problems as a group. If you do not understand anything go to her office and she will work with you until you do. Do the homework and worksheets she assigns. Exam will be taken straight from them.
Was a very difficult teacher, had office hours, but there was a class full of people in there that didn't understand her lecture, it wasn't easy to get help in the course.
Very good professor. She is very clear with her examples and she is very easy to understand. She makes challenging concepts simple. One of the best math teachers I've ever had.
She does not teach. But she does brag, and says things in front of a class for which she should be terminated, such as: "You kids make me rich. I'm loaded. No...Really...I am!" Yeah, right. That must be why she drives a minivan. I do not pay tuition to listen to this crap. Be prepared to teach yourself.
She's not fair, nice lady but not fair at all.
Good, but difficult class. She did very well in giving out the necessary information for the course. Her enthusiasm and humor will keep you awake.
Will ask questions during class, kind of like high school all over again. Always 5 minutes late for class. Forgets to bring things to class. Makes many mistakes. Only take her if there's no one else teaching the course and you are required to take it.
Very nice lady, not a very fun class. She does kind of act like a high school teacher. I had already taken calc before i got to college then i took her class and it was actually difficult. be prepared to teach yourself. if you've never had calc before.... sorry
Mrs. Previte is a good teacher, only wimps and hacks will say she's bad! Dont get this confused with the fact that its a tough class. Good teacher, but tough subject. Anyone who puts an effort will do fine, i've never had calc and i have a good grade.
DO THE ODD PROBLEMS!!! They're on the tests...which are BS and so is the class. I got straight A's in high school in AP calc and I'm struggling with her class even though it's my second time around. Shes hard, don't take her, save yourself.
Very nice lady. Terribly difficult class. Do the homework! Office hours are helpful, many students use them.
Wonderful teacher. Extremely helpful and nice. If her office hours don't jive well with your schedule, let her know. She is always willing to help and wants you to succeed as long as you want to succeed and are willing to put in the effort. She tests on the material presented in the class. Phenomenal teacher! Take her!
This is the only class where she will tell you that you are right..but you're not. Be prepared to talk to yourself, and say self, this class blows. Minimal clarity..she will teach the easy problems, and give you the impossible ones.NOTE..if you are an honors student, you can handle anything. Including the ability to slow time, necessary for tests
Don't waste your time! God knows she'll make you feel like you are wasting hers. Never had hw done for questions. Rarely made it to her office hours. Aweful at helping students. Grades hard and inconsistently! Worst professor at Behrend by far! Probably a better mathematician than teacher but thats pushing it.
If i could recommend anyone to take a math course with, it would be her. She is extremely easygoing, grades tests fairly, and is always willing to take extra time to help a student understand what's going on in class even if it means extending office hours. I have never been one to understand math, but she made this difficult material a lot simpler
She-Previte is awesome! Topology (crazy geometry) was my #1 fav class. She is a very thorough, tough, and fair teacher. She explains things clearly, assigns helpful hw problems, and tells you what will be on the test (1 out of the following 3 proofs...). She is great in office hours, do your homework (this is college...). Nice no nonsense person309
Calc III is a tough class but Previte is a clear instructor and is willing to help you out when you need it.
A little hyper.
Very good at explaining difficult math concepts. Hand-outs make everything clear. Enthusiastic and helpful. My only complaint is that the exams are purposely tricky and graded harshly. I knew the material and still got a B because I'd make dumb mistakes.
Difficulty of tests far exceed level of problems coverd in class. Homework every week accounts for a great majority of class credit so do it. As an honors student, much is expected of you, including the ability to slow down time, which is necessary to complete every problem on her test. Claims to be able to complete her own tests in 13mins. BS
She is a wonderful teacher. She has great handouts/notes prepared and is always willing to help you if there is something you don't quite understand. Her tests were pretty do-able and I learned a lot
Such a Great teacher. All of her handouts are helpful. she wants to make sure you understand they material and will provide extra time with you if you go to her office.
Very nice teacher will help and is always at office hours. Her test and quizes are difficult along with the homework. If you are looking to learn a lot take the class if you are looking for an A than I would recommend not taking her! But she is a nice teacher and willing to help!
Nice prof probably one of the best as for attitude and caring but the most difficult math class I ever took. Got an A in calc 141 and a b+ in 230, got a C in 140 and am still proud i passed. tests are really hard and so is some of the homework ive had tutors not be able to figure it out before... off to slader for that one....
Professor Previte was helpful, had a good attitude in the classroom, and presented the material as best as possible, but it's incredibly difficult. as a person who's always had a disdain for math, this class was tortuous.
Tough grader, but if you feel like you deserve points she may possibly consider giving you a point back or two... on HW though. Incredibly kind person. She knows a lot, but shows only one way to do a problem much of the time and the tests are a lot harder than any of the HW. Better Mathematician than teacher. Take her math majors
Dr. Previte is a great person. She cares about the well being of her students, and she wants to make sure all of her students understand the material. She gives one quiz per test, which is nice because the quizzes aren't overly difficult. However, she is a tough grader and doesn't give much partial credit, even when earned.
She makes due dates clear (every Wednesday). She also requires that you remember a ton of definitions that are not needed to solve the problems. If you can take this class with someone else, I would highly advise you do so.
She's a really nice person, but a horrible teacher. She's extremely harsh with grading barely gives partial credit. Her matrices class is different from the others in the fact that it is more theory based. From what I've heard the other teachers are much easier.
Previte hits you up with all the material you need. I love the worksheets she gave. She's great at teaching, but some people don't think so. She's a very likeable character, and I for sure enjoyed her classes because the way she gives us material made it very easy to follow what we're covering, and look back on the content for studying.
She's so kind. She guides students through the material easily and comfortably with her guided note packet thingies that I hate because they're bad for the earth but love because they make her class an absolute breeze.
Dr. Previte REALLY takes care of you and always helps students. She can work around with your schedule if you need to reschedule exams, HWs dues, and quizzes flexibly. She is super nice, and her teaching is easy to follow. Class notes are very helpful, but the textbook she used wasn't that great. Refer the one other sessions use at the library.
Made the class MAT220, a relatively simple matrices class, extremely hard. Tested majorly on theory and applications which I still have never used in practice to this day. Attendance is mandatory, and you will take a ton of notes. Tests are brutal. Would definitely take an online matrices class or do a transfer credit instead of taking her.
Took MAT220 with her, a relatively introductory matrices class, harder than calculus 3 or differential equations. Tested heavily on theory and other things which I have never used after this class. Very strict grader and will dock you major points for minor things. Take an online matrices class or transfer credit instead, trust me.
Dr. Previte is by far the worst professor I've ever had Her lessons don't make any sense, every student is much more confused after each lesson than when we walked in She is not clear at all in her lessons she doesn't show up to office hours and she doesn't help you in those office hours if you can go By far the worst professor Drop this class ASAP
Dr. Previtte is a very good professor and was always willing to help kids during office hours/ after class. Tests are challenging, but are exactly like the problems we work on in class. People that gave her bad reviews just did not want to put in the work that is needed.
Michelle Previte truly cared for the students and teaching them. I had her for matrices though and she heavily tested on theorems which was quite annoying... only reason I received such a low grade was because it was heavily vocab oriented and she tested on understanding of the book rather than understanding of the concept of the math.
Previte not only showed up 10-15 minutes late every class, but also proceeded to rush through her preplanned assignment of the day. This left very little time for questions or even comprehension of what was going on. HW was heavy with at least 20 questions that require multiple steps to be solved and no feedback if you got them wrong.
Think youre good at math? Guess again. Easily the worst math teacher Ive had. She shows up to class consistently 5-15 minutes late and rushes through an entire packet of notes with almost no time for questions. She also gives homework every night thats around 20 questions long, almost each of them being complex questions that give no feedback.
Not only was she consistently late, but she would rush through her material so that we were prepared to do the homework, but cutting class by 10 minutes each day was helping no one. The only people who pass this class have taken Calc in high school, with a couple exceptions.
I heard that she was not the best professor and I should have heeded the warning. this class made me change my major completely. tough grader, tons of homework, and super heavy emphasis on theorems. Fill in the blank notes were not bad but she just flew through them. she talked about her religion in class, which was a no no for me.
Quizzes/Exams are usually 10x harder than the review for them. She doesn't give a lot of partial credit.
Took AP Calc AB in HS, got a 2. Dr. Previte is a decent professor. She was not late once. She assigned 37 homework sets, they suck. Lectures and notes are not thorough, practice and go to office hours. You don't need the textbook. She is super nice, always happy, and wants you to succeed. You can get an A in this class. I didn't try too hard.
too fast.talks about religion
Talks and moves through material way too fast, can't explain concepts in simpler terms, assigns way too much homework that doesn't reflect what is covered in class but calls it "application", which is much more difficult than what is done in class. Mediocre at best. The teaching style is more like review than actual teaching.
Michelle was not my favorite teacher. There was constant homework that took hours to do constantly. She blew through the lectures. Do not reccomend.
If you ever open your semester schedule and see her name pop up. RUN to your advisor and drop the class, or prepare to pull your hair out before each one of the FIVE EXAMS she takes in 10 weeks, thats not even including the finals. She cut marks from my paper for not writing proper english in an optimisation question, that should explain it well.
Doesn't understand the laws of Mathematics.
Some people don't like her but I enjoyed her classes and she is always very nice.
I really enjoyed her teaching style. Mainly used packets that we filled in together, and then homework was online.
Some people will complain that she will talk about religion on the first day of class, but there's really no harm done. Other than that, she's always nice and happy to talk and help in office hours. Hands out packets for you to fill in and take notes on during class. Homework was from the textbook. A pretty average/regular class otherwise.
