This Professor is a good teacher. You will take alot of notes in her class but it's okay because you just copy it off the board. For tests, she gives a study guide with the possible essay questions and all the topics of questions for multiple choice. It's a fun class. She has a sense of humor and she rarely takes attendance. There is hardly any hw.

My favorite professor to date! Her lectures are always interesting and she keeps the class up to date on current affairs. Great Professor so far, but I am VERY concerned that she will allow my very-opinionated classmates to take over and side-track the course and it will affect my learning this semester. She let's them all have their say on every subject and that is not why I signed up for this course. It's already a little out of hand. We will see...

Okay, semester is over and I have to say that Prof is one of the best teachers at Mesa! The biggest danger of Politics is a professor that is opinionated to a fault and Prof is so neutral, it is awesome! She just guides the class rather than trying to force herself on others. Tests are hard, but fair. If you use the study guide, it is an easy A.

Nice and helpful teacher. She remains politically neutral even when students try to get her to take the, politically charged, bait; she cleverly gets other students to respond to the question(s). There is a final term paper & final exam, but both are optional. She gives extra credit quizzes every few classes to boost one's grade. Not hard at all.

Honestly, after reading these ratings about what a fantastic teacher she is, I'm disappointed. While she made it easy to do well in this course with plenty of make-up/extra credit available, her lectures were painfully dry. She knows her stuff, but doesn't articulate it well at all. Summer 2020 - POLI 102 (30745 - online) Professor Rodriguez has a set schedule with dates and clear rules on late work. Overall good class and learned more than I would have expected. Only one issue was the reports as they are set topics and no latitude to deviate from the topics.

Take only if you're a poli sci major! Lectures are a bit slow and boring, but the material overall is interesting and Professor Rodriguez is very nice. She is organized and uses the quiz questions on the exams.

Probably my favorite professor ever! Her video lectures are super easy to follow and she gives you a ton of extra sources to help you study. She also copy and pastes the textbook excerpts that will apply to the quizzes on canvas so that you can use the read-out-loud option. She makes it easy to pass and genuinely cares about students! Would rec!

Don't take this class if you are not interested in government & politics. It is so much work for a basic GE level class. I took it for credits when everything else was taken and it was so hard to understand most of the concepts. Don't know how I got a B.

I really liked her as a professor, the grading criteria were clear, and if you tried your best you got a good grade. There were many opportunities for extra credit and if you need help, you could set up a time to meet online. If you did the work you will get a good grade.

She is a very sweet and nice professor, she is a very forgiving grader. The only thing about her is that her lectures are extremely hard to sit through. Very boring.

Prof Rodriguez is really sweet, but only take her if you like poli sci. She usually has a 6 question weekly quiz that she assigns with sources that have the answers if you read it. Her class is pretty boring but if you take some notes and like poli sci you can easily pass. There are only 2 big papers she assigns which are the hardest thing all year

Professor Rodriguez is so sweet and caring. She was gracious enough to let us use the class lecture slides, our notes, and our textbook for all the exams. The papers can be tricky and hard to understand, but just ask her for more guidance if you get super confused (like how I did). She's a very forgiving grader regardless. Just try your very best!

I had a family emergency and needed an extension on assignments for Michelle Rodriguez's intersession class. She allowed me to turn in all assignments late without penalty. I couldn't drop it because I needed it to graduate. I'm grateful to have had her as a professor because if things continue to go well, in the Fall I'll be attending SUNY.

Her lectures were usually interesting despite the sometimes boring subject, and she is very kind and understanding. The grading is 25/45/30 between attendance & participation, exams, and papers. It was a good class.

Not very homework heavy at all. Tests are open note and online and you pretty much get the answers to them if you consistently go to class. As a person she is very supportive and easy to talk to. She is always willing to help and wants to see you succeed.

I took honors with her and she is really sweet, I'm glad I had her. She provides lots of lectures for you to understand the topic better and it helped me. The only thing is that the slides and the class were kind of unorganized and there is space for improvement there but other than that, I recommend her. She is amazing.

This was my first semester at Mesa, and Professor Rodriguez has been an excellent example of what every professor should be. She offers extra opportunities, experiences, and support, gives plenty of extra credit, explains concepts in depth, and clearly enjoys teaching.

Prof Rodriguez is very caring and kind when you need help. Her courses are lecture heavy but as long as you focus you will do fine on exams and assignments. She gives good feedback however to succeed best attend her lectures. I recommend her for anyone who is a poli sci major or filling a requirement. Material is not hard but make sure to focus.

Professor is straightforward but many assignments were posted very late (a day prior to the due date) and the last exam was posted after the last day of classes by accident. Seems pretty unorganized.

Great professor who cares. I took the condensed version of POL102, the lectures felt a little long, but that's expected with the shorter timeline. You don't need a textbook. There are a few papers, and the exams are timed 90 minutes but that is plenty of time as they are notes/class lectures/book. Worth taking if you're ready to put in the effort.

I started with her Poli123 Gender and Politics class, then I took PADM and Poli102 online with her. She is one of those professors who truly care about students. As long as you put in the work and communicate, she will be understanding. One of the best professors I've had! Take her class!

She's a nice person, kinda quiet so sit up front if you can, gives out a lot of extra credit, and will allow a few notes on tests. She'll do a multiple choice, short answer question, and essay answer question for test. You can't fail unless your don't show up to any class and don't do any homework.
