Good Teacher. Passes out notes every three lectures or so and does this so you dont have to purchase the book. Going to lecture is very important because the exams are based heavily on what she says and not only what is in the notes. She is always willing to help. Great Teacher.

Rondon's a great professor! She can explain so clearly all the concepts on microbiology. I thoroughly enjoyed Bact 303 under her as I felt that I've learnt so much. She always willing to help. And of course you have to come to every lecture. As long as you don't fall asleep for this 8 am lesson, it's really one of the easiest Biology courses.

There is a quiz every Friday that is online, her questions are usually pretty specific and difficult to google. Also, a lot of the questions are based on things she says during lectures that arent necessarily on the lecture slides. I found that when I watched the mini-lectures she provides I do better on the quiz than if I just look at the slides.

Professor Rondon was very knowledgeable and I could tell she was passionate about the information she was teaching. However, her weekly quizzes were absurdly specific. She was always available for feedback, but her feedback was never very helpful. Overall, I feel like she was a great professor but she sets her students up to get B's or lower.

Open book weekly quizzes, but even with notes, lectures, and slides available, it was still fairly difficult to get a perfect score. Because several quizzes are dropped, she offers little flexibility if you can't make a quiz due to travel/the holidays/you joined the class late. Shouldn't be too hard to get a B or above, but not very interesting.

do not take microbio101, she makes absolutely nothing clear in lectures, wish it wasn't pass the drop deadline because this is a waste of my time and effort. quizzes are so overly specific that it is not even fair. gives no instructions. gives us no effort but expects so much from us

Never fails to put me to sleep, which is good as a sleep deprived college student. Can always count on a 50 minute nap during lecture. Unclear and unfair grading, makes things way harder than they should be based on the depth of her lectures

Extremely boring lecturer. The weekly quizzes are way too specific based off of the lecture material and it's almost impossible to get full credit. There are also writing assignments every few weeks which are graded way too harsh. If you don't write in a complete sentence in a fill in the blank you get the question wrong which is ridiculous.

Lectures are super boring. Grade is based on weekly online open note quizzes and 4 writing assignments. Weekly quizzes are extremely specific, sometimes asked about topics we did not cover in class or in the readings/mini lectures. Super harsh grader.

She is very helpful, direct, and goes very in-depth in her lectures. A lot of people on here are complaining about this class, but if you attend the lecture, take notes of what she SAYS in the lecture (don't just rely on slides), and follow her clearly stated instructions, you shouldn't have a problem in this class. I would love to have her again.

Lectures were extremely hard to sit through and so much information was talked about but almost none of it was in-depth or understandable. She relies on outside work and does little teaching. If you can avoid this class I for sure would or know you have to teach yourself. She is inflexible to students and doesn't seem to care too much about them.

Absurd class for an intro micro course. Weekly quizzes ask extremely specific questions that make it nearly impossible to get an A on, even with open notes. She also assigns four writing assignments that are usually straightforward, but somehow grades them so harshly that the averages are always low.

She teaches well, and the lectures are fun and recored if missed. The quizzes and "writing assignments" are the only grades. there were 15 module quizzes and after taking the course, I realized that I studied every week like it was a big exam. they were much harder than expected. writing assignment weren't too hard, but graded harshly taking 102 lab

Michelle is such a supportive and kind professor for this lab portion. She will always be available to help clarify the very unclear lab instructions for you and to troubleshoot your mistakes. She has watched my entire lab group make the most heinous of mistakes and has always been there to help us troubleshoot mistakes. the absolute best.

Such a hard grader. This is supposed to be an intro level class and it does not grade like it. She gives no outline for what is required in weekly summaries and then takes points off everywhere for no reason. I have taken hard classes and succeeded in them (A in Physiology) but this class is so frustrating and tough grading for no reason.

If you are taking this class to learn about microbiology in a chill lab setting, this class is not for you. She is such a hard grader over tiny details and really stingy about points. Even though this is a 2 credit lab, I find myself doing tons of work and having to over-explain myself on every assignment just to get 16 or 17/20.

Do not take this class if you are looking for a chill/fun lab. The assignments are stressful (one hour to complete multiple questions on Canvas) and the "prep" quizzes are extremely hard even if you read the lab manual. Many assignments/papers had very vague rubrics but then were graded extremely harshly. Overall frustrating for a two-credit class.

she is a tough grader for sure, and will take off a somewhat unfair amount of points for small mistakes. for example, i didnt italicize e.coli once and she took off 15% of my grade for it. ouch! the way she grades can be extremely frustrating, but she does care a lot about helping you get an A. she is very available outside of class and is helpful.

She is a great professor! Yes, this lab has pretty tough grading because of the detail she expects on assignments. However, her expectations are clear and it is easy to do well as long as you stay on top of things, participate in lab, and prepare for class.

She is extremely friendly and often answers your questions very quickly and clearly on canvas. She is also very knowledgeable and can handle all sorts of experimental and theoretical questions. Unfortunately, the grading of this course is annoying as the rubrics are interpreted entirely by Dr. Rondon and TAs. Despite this, the course is very fun.

This professor is tough, often taking off partial points for little errors and has unclear grading criteria. Unhelpful in lab when asking a question or for guidance. I recommend taking a section with a different professor if you want a chill lab experience. You have to learn to think like her when grading assignments, and then only receive a 16/20.

Needed .7% more to keep my guaranteed spot in Pharmacy School and she refused to help me at all. I begged to do extra work, revise work etc and she said no every time. Normally I would understand this in the interest of fairness but her grading criteria is never clear and she finds any reason to take away points, do not recommend

I really enjoyed Microbiology 102, but honestly, her exams were written very unfairly. All of the questions on the exams were ambiguous, and the preparation for the exams was nonexistent. The materials given to "prepare" for lab were utterly useless and confusing. Also, she talked down to students every time anyone had a question in the lab.
