Took her at COD in summer 11. I transferred from a BIG TEN University and turned out she went to the same school. She was one of the best teachers I have had in college. Good class where students knew what to expect, she took different approach to material. Not teaching the textbook can be hard to follow, but keeps class interesting, and much more practical for a career as a police officer.

Mrs. Furlow was an Great Teacher. I took her intro to corrections class in the summer, definitely worth taking. If you didn't quite understand the material, she would have you watch a case study in which gives you a definite understanding of the material.

Super great professor! I took her CRJ 103 class in an 8 week session over the summer, and it was super straight forward! Every week we had AAR's due, but we got to pick which 15 questions of like 30 tht we wanted to answer. Also got to pick a video to watch every week and write a response to it, but that was it! Super easy if you put the effort in!

You will not regret taking her. Definitely in my top professors at Moraine, I've taken her for at least 3 or 4 CRJ classes and have thoroughly enjoyed coming to every single one. Easy A if you do the work.

I took Ms. Furlow for CRJ 103. I would definitely take her again. You only have like 5 assignments due throughout the semester and they are all online, including the FINAL. Ms. Furlow has all the assignments posted from day one, so you have plenty of time to get them done. She does not accept late work for this reason. However they are super easy!

I had Ms. Furlow for CRJ 105 and she was awesome. Really interesting case studies and lectures. I highly recommend taking her.

I cannot begin to say how lovely and caring Professor Furlow is. Took CRJ 105 online, she answered emails sometimes within minutes if not then within a couple of hours. If you submit your work on time, the course consists of 5 units and 5 discussion, as long as you read the book and submit your work you will have and easy A. It was a pleasure .

Furlow is an amazing online professor. She posts all the assignments at the beginning of the semester so you have the chance to work on them before they're do. Took this class after already being a police officer in order to get my associates. Coming back to school I now see how important it is to learn and listen to the. Reprocess the information you take in exactly as you do as a cop when you take in different info and have to document it in a clear story. Class ties into practical aspects of job

We did a class project in posting questions to a Canadian police officer which really added to the class. It's a little bit to learn Twitter at first, but you learn a lot from her video answers. Prof Furlow really cares about her students

All the professors at Moraine Valley's Criminal Justice department blew my expectations away. I came to MVCC from a big 4 year school to save on college cost. The Criminal Justice professors are personable, caring, and work in the field. They all are well above the value of an affordable education.

Taking a class through Winter Session, it's a lot of work but fairly paced. Ms. Furlow seems very nice, great class for short class.

Mrs.Skelton is an amazing teacher who really cares about her students, the class is easy the assignments are very do able. I've learned a lot through this class and I would definitely take it again!

LOVE this class. I wasn't excited to take corrections because I want to be a cop but this class was so helpful with all the current events discussions.

Class lectures are interesting and professor Skelton engages the class to help relate topics to current events. She is willing to discuss things one on one if you need and always responds to emailed concerns quickly

Professor Skeltpon is very prompt with her email responses, gives extremely detailed feedback on assignments, and makes you use a lot of critical thinking in her assignments, which I love!

Professor Skelton is a great instructor, her classes are engaging and she knowledgeable within the criminal justice field . As long as you read and pay attention in class and turn in your homework on time ,you should be able to get a good grade.

Professor Skelton is very diligent and fast with grading, and gives a very detailed response to all assignments. She frequently reaches out to class and is easy to talk to. I would certainly take another class with her.

Excellent Readings...

Weekly assignments that feel like a lot at first but do-able. There is a lot of writing but she makes it pretty clear that writing is importnat on the job so thats why the class is structured this way. Miss Skeleton makes the course possible to complete and feel like you are learning something you will use.

She's awesome, truly. I've taken courses with her prior to this one, at first it seems like there's a lot of work to get done/do, but you have more than enough time to get it done by. She's very very kind, and helpful. I recommend 110%!!!

She wants everyone of her students to succeed, if you are falling behind, she will email you about what you can do to improve your grade. She makes class fun and looking forward to going. Some assignments are a little difficult, but she gives more than enough time to complete it.

Mrs. Skelton gives such good feedback on your homework and assignments. I think she writes more that most of the work I turned in. But she really writes about what you did well and how to think for the next assignment. She really wants you to succeed, take her class!

Gets your grades back super fast and with lots of knowledge about what you did well and lots of follow up quesitons. She really takes time to make sure you understood the topic.

In my honesty this class was clear, understandable, and if you put the time and effort in it you will succeed. The teacher made every clear, cut, and useful to manage through the course. I would 100% take this course or other courses again.

Brilliant. Innovative. Interesting. Recommend class 100/100 times. Each week was different assignment but professor really cares about her work, has so much energy, but willing to talk about all topics in class. Great experience.

Michelle gives thorough feedback and makes the class interesting. She brings a lot of passion to the classroom which makes students want to attend each week.

This is my second online class with Ms Furlow/Skelton. She gives a lot of great information, I liked the Bearbrook podcast just think it would be better if it was discussing the case in person. She definitely does try to make the online classroom interactive. 4/5 only because online class but would recommend.

Throughout this semester I had a great professor, I was constantly reminded to have work turned in so that I can be graded fairly for all my work. I feel like this semester went really well and l look forward to hopefully taking some more by ms Skelton .

It was a summer class, so there was a significant amount of material to cover quickly. Professor Skelton was quick to respond to emails

This is a fully online course and is 8 weeks so the learning material is accelerated. She makes lessons very clear cut on what you have to do and she understands you have a life. It is mainly written responses and you don't take quizzes, so make sure you are actually doing the homework since that is the main source of grades.

I took this class online and there were only 2 written assignments every week. I love how she responded in full detailed paragraphs for every assignment. She also checks in on every student and will make sure that you are staying on top of your work. She really cares about helping every student doing well in her class!

She gives such good feedback, even on assignments I got full points on. Challenging me to go deeper into the material to be even better than full points. The feedback is so thorough in fact, that I started to think it was AI. I doubt that it actually is though. 10/10 as good as it gets for an online course.

Prof. Skelton is an absolute sweetheart, best teacher I have ever had at Moraine hands down. She was VERY understanding and was willing to help and guide me throughout the entire semester. She really cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed.

I took this class as a transfer credit for my university, and I absolutely loved it. It was an online class but she is so engaging I almost felt like it was in person. Hands down the best professor I have ever had without even meeting her. Plan to take her again for some summer transfer credits. I HIGHLY recommend!!!!

The professor makes the lessons clear and understandable.

She's the best! Be prepped for two fairly long assignments every week, so be mindful if you take more than one of her classes a semester. My favorite professor this semester and I am excited to take her again next semester. My only critique is SO. MANY. DOCUMENTARIES. lol. I'm a very notes oriented person so I did get tired of watching so many.

Prof Skelton is organized, funny, and creates a good class environment. Class is more discussion then lecture and she encourages us to share our own ideas. She is a professor who's approachable and supportive but still expects you to put in the work. I recommend her classes.

Professor Skelton is honestly one of the best professors I've had! She is really good at explaining ideas in a way that makes sense. She also uses lots of media and current events so it is not boring. Bonus, if you ask, she's super understanding when it comes to grading

Taking Professor Skelton's class was a great decision! She's passionate about Criminal Justice and keeps things interesting with real-world cases and discussions. The workload is reasonable for a college class and she's very clear on what she expects and gives a lot of information on what work is turned in.

Very nice Professor, but the class was essentially boring and hard to focus in. The lectures were dry and I didn't understand a bit of what she was saying. But I will say she's very approachable. You can go up to her after class or during her office hours and ask questions and she will help you. So if you can stay focused on your own you'll be good

Amazing teacher. There is literally no reason you should be getting anything besides an A… she gives SO many opportunities to receive credit as long as you give a detailed response and show effort. You also just show up to class to listen to her be hilarious and sweet… I love her

Professor Skelton takes the time to really give you thoughtful replies and allows you to revise any assignment to improve your grade. With that being said, the assignments are pretty time consuming, and she's pretty harsh on grading, however if you follow her feedback and revise your work, you'll do great.

Loved her. There was a lot of writing so be prepared for that but she made all of the classes I took with her very interesting. Loved the more personal assignments she gave, such as writing about songs that fit with the topic of the week. She's funny and a great person who gives amazing feedback. Would take any class of hers again in a heartbeat.

Mrs. Skelton gave great feedback and always showed me what I was doing well and where I could improve. Her class was really organized, which made it easy to keep up. The only hard part was reading the textbook, but that's normal for me. She's a great professor, and I'd recommend this course to anyone interested in criminology.

This class challenged me because I became a stronger writer and critical thinker because of the detailed feedback and the chance to revise my work. The assignments were time-consuming but valuable. This class helped confirm my interest in criminal justice. Professor Skelton made class easy to connect with especially the movies. I learned so much about myself because assignments make you add personal ideas and insight. I've never felt more motivated or certain about my path. Highly recommend this course

At first the amount of writing felt overwhelming. But then Professor Skelton explained how it connects to report writing. She really pushes you to improve with lots of chances to review work. I'd give it a 3/5 for workload (it's a lot!) but 5/5 for how much she wants us to succeed. Solid 4/5 and worth it if you're serious about CJ.

If you show up and have enough discipline for the online courses, you will succeed. The topics can be related easily were insightful to society.

This class was really good. Mrs. Skelton gives us a lot of extra stuff to help besides just the textbook like videos she makes and little podcasts. She responds with a lot of help and suggestions.

The course wasn't boring because the professor connected the reading material with real-life cases, which helped me understand and learn better. American Policing may not seem exciting at first, but the professor made it feel more relevant and engaging.

Mrs. Skelton does a good job providing lots of ways to learn the material and you can tell she puts a lot of work into making it relatable to current events. There is a lot of writing so just be ready for that. She does let you fix your work for a better grade that really helps.

She's the best! Professor Skelton gives amazing feedback on every assignment. It's personal like she's really talking to you. She points out what you did right and gives tips to make your ideas stronger and even remembers stuff you wrote. She actually reads and cares. Definitely take her classes!

Favorite class, no question!!! The documentaries are really good. I'd probably watch them on my own time. Mrs. Skeleton leaves a page worth of grading notes but its good to read. She really wants you to understand the material and keep improving.

If you are having a hard time and need a professor to help you, Michelle Skeleton is the right one. She offers good feedback, allows you to revise assignments, and gives you plenty of extra credit. It is her positive energy that makes the class enjoyable.

Professor Skelton truly loves what she does. She is very passionate and attentive. In addition, she responds right away to emails and always provides helpful feedback on each graded assignment. The homework is manageable and the lectures are intriguing. I highly recommend taking one of her classes!

A lot of work in a short amount of time, but it's a short class. Mrs. Skelton is supportive and organized, which makes it manageable. One of the better instructors I've had with communication and responding.
