The class itself is very boring, lots of busywork, too many papers + homework, she's cool most of the time but always harps on class participation

she starts off the class giving massive homework that dies down a few weeks later. awesome personality. i turned most of my papers way late and still managed and A. go to the writing center and she boosts your grade up.

Ms. Tucker let me sit in her class and learn, even though I was not enrolled in it. She is a wonderful teacher. Very caring!

I LOVED her class. She is my favorite teacher ever. I still talk to her whenever I see her. She HELPS you with your papers, and while she expects you to participate, if you read the material, it's not hard. Very understanding and helpful. Class is a must.

Tucker is incredibly flexible

Professor Tucker may be liberal, but I respect her more than any of my teachers. She goes above and beyond to extend the olive branch to everybody, benevolently allowing homework to be turned in very late. She is also user-friendly, making herself accessible for extra help and conversation.

Very nice teacher. She was the easist english teacher I ever had. She excepts all late homework and still gives you the full credit. Just show up and turn in all of your work and you will get an A

Tucker is an incredibly easy teacher. However, she still teaches the material decently. If you can write at all, you'll be fine. She is liberal, but not pushy about it, and she wont fail you for your views if you explain them well. Good teacher for sure.

Professor Tucker has got to be one of the most laid back teachers ever!! If you fail her class, there is something wrong with you. Do all the homework assignments! Go the extra mile for your group project! Do all your essays. Complete all your assignments and you'll get an A. You even get to watch films and movies during class.

TUCKER creates a place of learning w/o fear. Her hardwork moves many students outside of STATIC living & into CRITICALLY THINKING about our nation that seems to bow to our leaders because "they say so." However, if one wants to remain ignorant to the multitudes of social, economical,& political dysfunctions in the US, you are in the WRONG class.

Took her for summer school and she is so easy. Don't let her scare you on the first day! Really nice. Do the homeowork and be creative in the presentation.

I was nervous about taking English 120, but Michelle made the class very interesting and a lot of fun! The class required you to do a fair share of work, but it was all very easy. Michelle is an excellent teacher and I would highly recomend her to any student needing to take English courses.

I had 3 friends in the class who are also international students and they all received A's as well. She went out of her way to help us and my writing improved greatly. This class was my favorite one of the semester. She is a very wise person and the activities and class disscussions are sure to spark a student's interest. I took 124 from her as well - AWESOME lady! She's really "groovy" and down to earth, understanding and very discussion oriented. Loves a good conversation. Grades fairly easily but appreciatest quality work. She's very laid back, wise, and has a great sense of humor. I like English anyway, but she makes it a very enjoyable experience.

Prof. Tucker is amazing. she is such an understanding teacher. make sure you go to class, and do the homework on time, that way it's easier. I did almost no homework, but i told her my situation and she allowed me to turn everything in all at once. She is so compassionate, and i recieved an A. I also learned a lot. Very easy short term class if you don't mind writing a 1-2 page essay about every other week but it only adds up to 4 essays so its not bad. Not too much homework, she'll allow you to turn things in late if you ask. Hardly ever there for the full class time unless you are watching a movie. You could get an A in this class without ever showing up!

I don't know what planet the previous reviewer came but they must have been a slacker who never came to class. She's big on attendance. I learned a lot from this teacher. Very insightful and helpful. We learned a ton in a very short period of time. I highly recommend her.

Professor Tucker is very clear with class outline and explains the writing prompts. Showing up to class and turing in homework actually gives you a passing grade, who would have thought? You will do well in her class, don't be afraid with the writing.

She is a VERY good professor and self-described "hippie." She truly believes everyone can write and is very encouraging. I am taking her for 120 and 124.

Excellent Professor. Class is political in nature & the films we watched dovetailed with the lectures and readings. Wonderful, sweet Professor who tries,on the first day, to make you think she's tough - pay no attention, she is a sweet hippie. She will open your eyes & you will view this country as never before. She was great. Her essay requirements were only 2-3 pages and she shows alot of movies in class! I really learned alot from her and I would love to take her for 120

She is a very nice professor which I'm sure is why she has so many good ratings. Unfortunately, I felt that I learned more about how to be an effective protester than about advanced composition. We did nothing more than surface level analysis, so if you're looking for something in depth this is not the class for you.

Last reviewer obviously doesn't understand what advanced composition and critical thinking entails. The person who said she does surface analysis either doesn't know the meaning of analysis or is just plain stupid.I am an Honors Student and I've taken many English classes.Her class was the only one where I had to actually use my critical thinking skills and was actually challenged. Disregard the blabbering of the uneducated bore who dissed her.

I also took the short-term class and don't know what the previous idiot is talking about.She NEVER used vulgar language,was always on time and we did do a research paper!She prepared me well for my other English classes at UCSD.Don't pay attention to the previous jerk-obviously he/she didn't get the grade he/she wanted and is blaming Prof. Tucker.

I took her class over the summer last year and it was REALLY REALLY easy. There was NO research paper, so that was a plus. and she's a super fun, exciting teacher. As long as you've learned an important lesson at the end of the course you'll get an 'A', FOR SURE. You have to be an extremely lazy slacker to not get an A.

Professor Tucker is one of the best instructors I have ever had. She will scare you at first but the class will turn out to be very fun and easy for you to get an A. Lots of films and very short writings on the films but will help you further your critical thinking skills. TAKE HER!

Amazing teacher ! lots of movies and responses that require you to know your voice...if you got a fragile sense of self, good luck...she is on a kooky mission to actually make you think critically, and I can dig that. I have never taken a class that made me think so much about what I want to do in this world. She is a special teacher.

Professor Tucker is a passionate teacher. This is the first themed class I have ever taken and it was great! I highly recommend this professor if you want to learn how to read critically and write more effectively while being inspired to do so. This class will prepare you for writing on a college level. Professor Tucker is by far one of Grossmont's most forward-thinking educators. She challenges each and every student to teach themselves, simply by her sparking thoughts in our minds. One of my all time favorite teachers. Life changing course and I highly recommend this class. You will not be dissapointed.

Must do HW, all or nothing. Says she doesnt take late HW, but she does! Do not chit chat in class she will trip out which is good because people are rude chit chatting. Grades OK, not easy not hard but if you write about something she loves she will grade harder. VERY disorganized, changed schedule 100 times but did warn us first day of class

This became my favorite class, the content of what you will learn in this class is worth it alone, yes there is allot of homework but its very easy. Tests are take home and group projects are fun. Prof. Tucker is very knowledgeable and knows her stuff, take this class i recommend it to everyone that you will not be disappointed.

I was not looking forward to taking a critical thinking class, I knew it was going to be a lot of writing.To my surprise, not only was the class fun and interesting but I enjoyed writing most of my papers which were a breeze.She is strict with attendance and homework, but well worth it.She gives you a different perspective on life, highly recommend

This is one teacher you *need* to take for English 124 (or 120). I took her for both classes (in 124 now) and have to say she's a great teacher. Personally I hate writing, I'm more of a math person, though this class isn't too bad. In 124 you will basically be watching videos, do a presentation, and some homework. Reasonable essay length =)

With out a doubt this teacher will open your eyes about the world. If you want an easy class don't take her,if you want to truley learn and have a teacher that actually CARES about you than she's the teacher for you.I've never done so much writing for a class but I've also never been so inspired to make a change in this world. She is such an easy teacher, but overall she teaches you about life and reflects on marches, civil rights, and equality. You basically watch videos and write about them. 3 major essays, no research paper. Take her, you will love her! Funny and witty, but intelligent at the same time!

Professor Tucker is awesome. Most of her class consists of boring documentaries and then writing a journal response on them. She really just wants to see what your perspective on them. Overall great class, but it gets really boring near the end of the semester when you are tired of watching movies.

When I took her she never missed ANY classes and gave me tons of feedback on all my work.I heard she was very ill during this semester-maybe that's why sessions were cancelled.Last reviewer shows total lack of compassion.Becasue of this prof I am attending Princeton.My brother took her and is attending Stanford. Professor Tucker is one of the best teacher's at Rosemont. She make you work for your grade, but it was all worth the work. The work isn't quite easy but it's definitely not all that hard. Thanks professor Tucker, you help make your classes enjoyable and educational.

Last person must not have been paying attention. I learned more about critical thinking and real world issues from her than anyone I've ever taken. Pretty heartless to tag on her for absences as she had some serious health issues this semester. You just had to pay attention something last reviewer obviously didn't do. Take her and be inspired.

I learned so much about critical thinking and life from her. I am also a strong writer and she improved both my writing and world views. Recommended.

Easy A... Easy A.. Easy A. Write some essays she gives you full points or you can re do it. Lenient on due dates. One Essay that I kinda put some effort into.. You won't learn a thing about english, but a lot about society, its flaws, and non-violent protest. Take her, you will only have to go to about half of the scheduled classes anyways...

If you need Eng124 for GenEd but won't ever need to use it in the future, take her class. If you are interested in learning about current and historical social justice topics, and debating other students in a calm, intelligent setting without the teacher promoting one opinion over another, take her class. Also there is loads of extra credit.

Take her class! This class is very opinion based, so even though you write a lot its easy writing. She can be very confusing at times because she expects you to turn in hw assigned on her calender even though she doesn't mention. She's nice, lenient, you'll learn a lot, and get close to your classmates!

My favorite teacher ever! She is super chill and barely assigned any work the entire semester. Her essays are less about structure and more about the writing, so make sure you write about something you're interested in. She gives you like a million prompts to choose from, so there's sure to be one you like. Definitely taking her classes again!

Professor Tucker's class is still the best class I have taken at Grossmont. She is a very sweet lady and she grades the essays very easy. There is a lot of reading and group work though. There are a few homework assignments, not difficult at all, that you have to do. I STRONGLY recommend taking her for english 120 if offered.

Make sure you follow the syllabus that's where she assigns the readings and homework! She'll give you a list of books to buy & read on your own and they're important for t midterm, final, group projects, and HW. Midterm and final are take home and work 250+ points so make sure you do the readings and watch her documentaries in and out of class.

Mrs. Tucker is the best professor that I have had. Trust me the first day of class she makes it seem like class is going to be difficult but she is not. If you do the homework you will pass. . Also she gives you plenty of extra credit opportunities. I would ABSOLUTELY take her again!

Professor Tucker is fantastic! She is fair and does a good job keeping everyone on task to succeed in her class. If you follow instructions and participate, you will succeed. She is very passionate about her curriculum and has an excellent style of teaching! As a veteran most people can't loosen me up, but she did and her class was like family!

English 120 with professor Tucker was a breeze. A lot of it was watching movies as well as in class discussions and we had very little homework. In the first half of the semester she gave us very minimal homework and the second half we just had a group project. Very nice lady, easy to talk to, and a wonderful professor overall.

Really not THAT much work, lots of reading. You can find the textbook free online if you look hard enough, you only need it a few times, but it's for homework. There's one group project that is very important. Very understanding, lots of movies. Only two essays, I think. Peer graded. Loved her as a person and teacher.

She is super nice and the classes are very interesting. She gets students involved in discussions a lot. There are many assignments including packets and essays but it is doable, just don't wait until the last minute.

Tucker is a very tough grader when It comes to essays and you HAVE to bring them to the writing center in order for her to even accept them. She cancels class for free days which is super helpful for during the work she assigns. Tests are take home!

Tucker is one of the best professors I've ever had. We have a lot of slackers in our class who act like children and she doesn't indulge slackers. She's tough but fair. If someone complains about her it's because they still think they're in high school. Gives lots of extra credit opportunities. Was involved in the civil rights movement. Take her.

Professor Tucker is a gem. She is EDUCATED and shares knowledge. She shares what she has witnessed with her students to help them understand what has happened in the USA for centuries. She does not care for LATE students and she is adamant on turning your assignments in ON TIME. A kind woman who just wants to help sharpen young minds.

I just finished her 124 class. Best class I've taken so far in college. Take her - you won't be sorry. Ignore the negative comments - don't know why anyone would make those comments. She wants us to succeed and the life lessons you get in her class are invaluable. She is always accessible and will work with you for the best grade possible.

Pretty Easy A+, engaging and interesting books/articles/films, all assignments were posted at the start of the semester and were able to be completed your convenience as it was an online course.

Follow the essay prompts, make sure your grammar is good, and it's a pretty easy A.

She's so nice, I was struggling with MLA format, and she constantly gets on zoom with me and helps! She let me resubmit the assignments.
