Chill class and is lack on homework. Its work...not hard but you have to put time into it. If you take this class ask her about horse betting, she can go for ever on that :)

Trully u get out what u put into this class. Workload is dept regulated, but most is ungraded (100% points for completion). Class is fun, thoughtful and rewarding. Prof Tucker is gifted with passion, acumen, prowess and humor. Having said this, if u prefer writing about your dog Spot or u r prone to forgetting homework, this isn't your class.

This is crap! She told me I have to initiate classroom discussions. J/k, it's because we have an Honors contract, which she is more than entusiastic about. Offers ALOT of extra credit and sometimes modifies the syllabus to your advantage. Great professor, A++, highly recomended. Besides, she's a hippie. You know what that means...

If you want to be challenged- this is not the class for you. Pro Tucker is the perfect professor for a procrastinator. She allows late work...with that said, she's a very nice lady and wants her students to succeed. If you want an easy A, take this class.

This class is very challenging for me, and yet not so stressful I wish to leap off the building. She is a sweet and kind and considerate lady, who cares about people, students, not just in class, but how you really are.

She seems very healthy to me. Not only that but she is the best English professor at Mesa. Do not pass up the opportunity to take a class from her. Her classes were my favorites ones. She is very wise, laid back and all her discussions engage student interest. She gets you involved and interested about society, culture and the world. She understands things from a student’s perspective and actually cares about her students as people. If you want to be inspired and respected take her class.

I've taken 2 classes from her and would take more if I could. Do yourself a favor - take any of her classes - you won't be sorry and you'll learn a lot.

she is one of the few teachers that CARES, unlike most at mesa, take if you like real people who will talk to you as another person not a number

The COOLEST English class ever! Literature, guest performances, hipster presentations, music, art, we even went to a play. She’s very laid back, inspirational, lots of wisdom and insight. If you want an awesome class and professor – take her – you won’t regret it!!

Great professor, actually cares about her students. The films we watched went along greatly with the lectures and readings. Lots of homework, it's not that bad though! I highly reccomend her.

She is great professor.If you like to learn than she is the professor to take. She leaves you work so be prepared. She is also very helpful and responds back to your e-mails and messages very quick. I really recommend her, I know I plan on taking her as a professor for the rest of my English classes.

Take this class if you want to learn something about life and meet an interesting individual. She does grade tough on essays (3 total) and has a lot of hw's, with 1 group project & a final project. But offers extra credit and is very flexible with grading. This woman will teach you what you need to know about life and english, take her!

Stop looking because you just found your next English Professor. If you want to really change your life while learning English take her as an Honors course. The text is amazing and the group work is very fun. You will have to write and come to class but this is common sense. Do the work and you will get an A. I highly recommend Professor Tucker.

Wow Ms. Tucker is awesome lots of hw but she just gives you a check if its done correctly and then 3 essays fairly easy and final is just a creative project. EASY EASY A if you do the all the work your guaranteed either an A or B. Teacher gives no lectures basically movies everyday. First day of class tries to scare you away lots of people dropped.

She was a really cool teacher to have. Not a super hard class and the teacher was extremely fair. Had a great time this was my second semester having her.

Great class, great teacher. I really enjoyed this class. If you do all the work you will get an easy A. She'll try to scare you the first day of class with how "hard" she is.. I can only laugh. Expect a LOTTT of movies and a sizable amount of homework. If there is one class that has meant the most to me at mesa, This is without doubt it.

Fun teacher. She is very lax about turning in things on time. We watch a lot of films and critique them. Plenty of discussion. I didn't think this class was hard, but a lot of people complained about the workload. Nonetheless, I recommend this teacher.

The best class I will ever take in my school career. English 205 is going to be a lot of writing so you may as well take it with an amazing teacher. Lots of essays, but mostly critical responses so you get to put your feelings in. By far the best teacher I have ever had. Do the homework, have an opinion, you'll get an A.

If you want to get an easy A, you are in the right class. Do the work, you get the A. Don't slack off because her hw packets can be pretty long. If you are favor in politics, then you are in the right class.Tucker rocks. Again, easy A if you do the work. She will try and scare you but don't worry, she is really nice.

Easy class, but a lot of writing. Almost everything is credit/no credit so it's not bad. She is not organized though, lost our papers but ended up giving everyone an A cause she couldn't find them.

I agree with the last reviewer.She discussed the syllabus/schedule in great detail during the first 2 classes of the semester and told us what to expect in the class and what she and we would and would not be doing.This class is very interactive and I've learned more info that I can actually use in the real world than any other class.Great Prof.

Yes,she does just check off the homework but gives plenty of feedback on the essays.When she missed class it was due to medical issues so why criticize her for that?She's excellent but you have to be ready for a university level setting.I learned how to write and think critically(she focuses on critical thinking)in her class.Worth your time.

If you have ever taken any type of AP or Honors English, this class will be a breeze. Lots of reading, but easy to b-s. Most of the work is in the form of essays, but I got easy A's on all of them.

You have to read and watch the videos. Other than that, it's a breeze. Lots of writing, but she's an easy grader and if you just do it, you'll get an A or at least a B. You'll learn more about the sixties than English.

Last person didn't understand the class if they think they learned more about the 60s than English.Her class was themed and focused on critical thinking.I thought the class, the prof and her teaching style were amazing.Take her if you want to learn things you can actually use in life rather than the usual bs profs spew.She really cares about us.

She's amazing.I took her for 101,105(which I didn't need but took only because she was teaching the course)and 205. Very laid back, insightful and will actually teach you something you can use in the real world.She uses film, music, art along with the readings.Very inspiring.She truly cares about her students.You're a fool if you don't take her.

Excellent class! It's extremely helpful to do all the reading in this class but not necessarily crucial. Tests are easy. Wouldn't recommend it to painfully shy folks because of the group presentations. Be prepared for movie watching. Tucker is awesome and makes everything fun! JUST DO THE WORK!!

Best professor I've had, took her again first chance I got. Dr. Tucker is a wonderful professor because she teaches life lessons and is more intent on helping you discover your beliefs than she is worried about grading scale. You will want to keep in touch with her after this class.

Dr. Tucker has an awesome perspective, she was there for most of the historical protests she teaches about. You can turn in the work whenever, just as long as you turn it in. A lot of writing and a super important group presentation. HUGE Santana fan. I don't know if she's still teaching, she was very sick last semester. Overall, she was GREAT!

Professor Tucker was probably the best instructor I've ever had in my entire life. Her sessions dive deep into the root of American history, and what it means to have what we have. She inspires you to really search for yourself. I truly love this amazing woman. I would recommend her to anyone.

A very caring teacher who has seen a lot and wants to make sure that we are appreciative for what we have. The majority of class is watching movies and writing responses on what we saw. She is a ridiculously easy grader if you just do the work... also lenient with turning in late work. Don't let her intimidation speech at the start fool you!

Lovely woman. She is truly inspiring, genuinely believes in all of us and cares. The "movies" she has us watch are great documentaries that focus on serious social issues and force you to sit back and think about something other than yourself and your little world. Highly, highly recommend her and I'm not even a fan of English courses.

I had an amazing experience in Mrs. Tuckers class. The films shown in class truly make you think critically about your own life while getting a little history lesson in the process. I recommend this class to anyone! She genuinely cares about each student who tries and delights in their success.

A ridiculously easy class. You watch documentaries and write your opinion of it as homework (you have to do it all though). I don't think she even reads your work, just gives you credit if you did it. If you're just looking to coast through with an easy A, this is your class. But if you really want to learn how to write, look elsewhere.

I have learned valuable lessons from this Mesa College Instructor. It got something to do with government. As citizens, it is up to the people to decide whether or NOT a Law is Just OR Unjust and should we chose to OBEY or DISOBEY. As a student, I really hopes this message will pass on to other students who studied English 205 with Miss Tucker.

Hands down THE BEST professor I've had at Mesa. She is so inspiring!! I took this class as an honors course and it changed my life. She genuinely cares about her students.. I wish we had more professors like her.

If you need to take English and want the best professor Mesa take her.I took her class last semester and learned more than I have from any other prof.I need to take 205 but,since she's not teaching it this Fall,I'm waiting an entire semester to transfer so I can take it from her in the Spring.I would never take any other English prof besides her.

Well, she is a nice lady and her class is easy, but if you want to learn english for your major dont take this basic class. I remember reading on this website that she cancels class. She has cancelled probably 60% no joke of our classes(hospital,emergency, car, wreck etc) which I am fine with! Has to be the easiest class Ive taken at Mesa.

Last reviewer is an idiot.Tucker is the best and so inspirational.I learned so much about critical thinking in her class and my writing improved considerably.Because of her classes(I took 2 from her)and her help I'm now attending Princeton where all my profs remark about my excellent writing skills and clarity in critical thinking. It's a Critical Thinking course, so you're expected to think critically about the assignments. None of them were spoonfed to you. It's intimidating to write once you know what's expected, but she's open to questions so ask away. Requires you to take drafts to Writing Center so another set of eyes can inspect your draft before she even grades it.

To anyone saying she is not a good teacher, it is completely because you didn't care enough or put enough effort into the class. Tucker is an amazing person, and an even better teacher. She truly cares for her students, and will help do whatever it takes to help you succeed. Her class is good because it makes you think about real world situations.

Professor Tucker was one of my favorite professors at Mesa. She was a good teacher and a nice person. She helped me a lot through out the semester, and I ended up with a good grade and became a better writer. English is not my favorite subject but I enjoyed the class and the readings we did. Professor Tucker is absolutely amazing. I took her 101 class and liked it so much I took 205 with her as well. She is really into the material she teaches, and it shows the passion she has. Everything that we read or watched applied to the real world, and some things changed my perspective on how I viewed the situation. Great class and teacher.

Extremely Easy! Attend class, turn in all assignments and essays on time, do the group project (Easy), pay attention when watching documentaries in class, and you will get an A! Sadly, this class will not enhance your writing and critical thinking skills. It really felt more like a U.S. History class. She also frequently cancels class.

Very easy class. She gives solid feedback on your writing. Lots of videos. Just because it is an easy A doesnt mean you wont learn a lot, because you do.

The class material that she goes over in the semester is all really interesting and she is a nice person. However, she does give 2-3 page long assignments that are MANDATORY. The homework is ALL OR NOTHING. If you miss one, you will lose credit for it all. It is however a credit or no credit based grade so easy A if you work for it.

hands down best professor I've ever had. Chillest and funniest lady you will ever meet. Expect a total of 5 easy homework assignments and two essays (not hard), take home final and midterm- she gives like a week and a half for both. SO HAPPY I took engl 101 with Tuck.. TAKE HER!!!!!!!!!!

If you're taking a full semester, I suggest for you to look else where. This class is a pass or no pass. Writing assignments are in first person. Journal entries are 3 pages; essay are 5 pages. You get to go see a play. One group presentation. It is a pass or no pass class. She is nice.

YOU GUYS HAVE TO TAKE TUCKER. ABSOLUTELY AN AMAZING CLASS. There is homework but it really is not bad at all. You will learn SO MUCH MORE from this class than any other class. If you're taking a full class load and need to take English, take this class! Super easy. Many classes were cancelled because of various reasons, so It was similar to an online class with a few class sessions, which I liked personally. Do the work and you'll pass.

There is kind of a lot of homework and a couple long papers but, they are really easy. Homework is all or nothing, and you have to do it all to pass the class, but it is easy. She cancels papers and class a lot. Material mostly based on documentaries you watch in class. Extra credit offered. Really nice lady who wants you to learn about history.

This is the easiest class I have ever taken. If you do the homework you will get an A guaranteed. The class is super chill and laid back, you mainly watch documentaries, and she cancels class a lot and also cancels assignments. She is pretty funny also.

Prof Tucker is one of the BEST professors I have taken for English or in general. I had her for all my eng classes until I couldn't. She cares about her students and wants good to come to them from the class. I love how her class papers are basically opinionated & we actually get to have a voice. Take her any time you get to, you won't regret it.

She is not respectful to student and she get mud really fast. In her class be ready to watch documentary, journal response to , there is 2 big essay 5-7 page but the essay they are not hard. No good feedback your paper. On the syllabus said no late turn in but you can still turn in. One group project. We go to play instead to write essay. I pass A

Best professor I've ever had. Great sense of humor She actually cared about us. She taught us how to be critical thinks. We had a student in our class who complained all the time which was a distraction. If you want to learn from someone who was involved in the Civil Rights movement take her. Her class will be the best one you ever take.

Tucker is definitely a rare gem. You will receive heavy homework essays that you can rarely make up, and a rigorous schedule to stick by - yet, it doesn't feel that horrible. She is a well respected teacher and inspirational. She really cares about her work and about you too. There were times when I was overwhelmed, but I think it's worth it.

She can be sassy sometimes and there is SO much homework but honestly for even a bad student, the hw is easy. You can get away with doing it the night before but it really is so inspirational and not your typical English bs essays. You get to have a voice and really learn about the world outside of school. 10/10 I wish more teachers were like her.

If I had to pick 5 people that greatly influenced my life, I would not hesitate to pick Professor Tucker. She is as genuine as they come, loves to hear your thoughts, and will give you full credit for doing so. The class consisted of about 7-10 short answer assignments, 1 Socratic discussion (no wrong answers), and 3 essays (all very interesting).

The homework in this class is all or nothing. She is easy in the sense that if a student does all their work, they won't fail. But, sometimes there's 2 essays per week, but usually it's just one every week. For one month there were no assignments, because students were preparing for a socratic seminar.

Tucker was a really kind professor. She offered a lot of extra credit. Although her course description defines this as a class with a lot of writing, this is not the case. I really enjoyed the theme of the course and the overall topics that were discussed. One of the best classes I have taken here at Mesa.

Such an inspirational professor. If you have the opportunity to have her I strongly encourage you do. She taught on such interesting and relevant topics regarding race and public unrest.

The professor is decent and answers questions if you have any. The online homework does feel overwhelming at first, but with good time management, it's manageable. I can't speak much on the classroom environment since her classes were often canceled and replaced with independent study. However, she offers some extra credit opportunities.
