I love this class and I love this teacher! She always sticks around after class to talk to us and is very down to earth. I plan to try to take a class with her next semester.
This teacher is young and has a lot of energy. She is pretty well-organized and lays out for the students exactly what they need to do for the class. I enjoyed the class very much, found the teacher to be informative and the material to be interesting. I would recommend the class and the teacher.
This has been the best history class that I have taken at Valley. This teacher does a good job of relating the subject of religion to how the world is today. The class is generally enjoyable and not too difficult, as long as you don't let yourself get behind with the assignments.
The professor is a very nice lady. She is easy to relate to and seems to care about how we do in the class. She is organized and makes it very clear what to expect on the tests.
ALTHOUGH DITZY AT TIMES, SHE IS SERIOUS ABOUT HISTORY AND THE CLASS IS STRAIGHTFORWARD... STUDY THE NOTES FROM CLASS AND THE TESTS WILL BE EASY... NOT A LOT OF READING EXCEPT FOR TEST TIME... PAPER IS OK... NICE TO TALK TO AND LENIENT
great and down to earth teacher. she is very clear. i strongly recomend this class.
lousy teacher. is very vague and boring. Whatever you do, DO NOT TAKE HER.
Great teacher. This was my favorite class last semester. She is definately better than another history teacher that I took for US history.
SO I TOOK HER AGAIN FOR WESTERN CIV AND SHE IS STILL THE SAME. STUDY THE NOTES THAT SHE GIVES YOU. DON'T BUY THE BOOK UNLESS YOU WANT TO USE IT AS A SOURCE FOR YOUR TWO ESSAYS. STILL CHEERFUL AND HELPFUL FOR ANYTHING. SHE DOESN'T GO INTO DEPTH ON A LOT OF TOPICS SO IF YOU LIKE GENERALIZATIONS OF MAJOR EVENTS, SHE IS DEFINITELY THE ONE PROF. TO TAKE
Fun class and great teacher. This teacher presents information in a way that is easy to follow. Her lectures are straightforward. Also, she makes it very clear as to what is expected for the class.
I loved this class! Religions of the world is so interesting and Ms Visco makes it even better. She is approachable and very kind. She tells you flat out what she wants from you and than lets you do your own thing. She reminds me of a sweet caring kindergarden teacher. She is awsome! Take her!!!
The best teacher hands down! Words of advice: (1) dont buy the book (2) Go to class and get the lecture notes (3) sit back and relax because the tsets are straight from the lecture
Great teacher who knows what she is talking about. Her tests are designed so that if you take notes, you pass. She gives you the questions and essay topics WAY before the test date so you can prepare them so there is no excuse for failure. She's easy on the eyes too which makes class more enjoyable and has a charm about her that lightens the air.
This teacher knows what shes talking about, she is extremely helpful, she is a really easy teacher, she gives you the essays before hand to do on the final and mid term and she gives you the short answer questions before hand also, it is realy easy as long as you write out your essays before hand and memorize the outlines. easy B/A
Very professional and organized. I found it refreshing. A university level survey class.
she is a veryyyyy kick back teacher. easy A. she even gives u the questions to the test how much easier can that get.
She is a very warm-hearted genuine teacher. Her notes are very clear and vague. the book is really not needed. tests consit of an essay, short answers, and a map. all are given way before hand so its really easy. 5 in class assignments which can be made up for only half credit. extra credit is also given which is a three page essay for a museum.

Great Professor! Incredibly nice, genuine, clear, helpful, I can go on & on...Point is..she tells you what will be on the exam so u prepare ur essays. Gives noted from pwr pnt presentation. Organized and easy going. You do need to do work I did so I got an A. Really.. she is the best from hist. dept. I recommend her 100% I loved her.
Easy to follow lecture and presentation. Tests are drawn from both book and lecture, but with advance notice there's no excuse for not doing well. Points for perfect attendance, optional extra credit report. A bright and sweet woman, always willing to help if you ask. I highly recommend.
This class is pritty chill. Got the grade that all strive for. Easy tests because she's nice enough to hand out study guides a week before. Take notes, read certain sections in the book, complete the SG and you should get the A. Btw the essays, well it helps if your a good writer to start off with, less stressful.
she is a very wonderful teacher, you can get an A if you attend to class every day and do everything in the class, especially pay attention! it is prety easy, she is a very nice professor, i recomend her but take it for winter session i just finished mine and im happy with it.
EZ class if you go,but one of the most boring I have taken. Take her if you like to sit for the entire period copying her powerpoint notes. Little to no verbal class interaction with her. I was able to find more than five blatantly wrong historical "facts" that she taught.I Felt bad for students seeking genuine historical info. At least she's nice.
I enjoyed this class very much and thought the teacher was very fair. Lectures were interesting and I got the impression that most of the class was interested as well. Not too easy, but you can definitely get a good grade.
Visco is a great teacher. You can tell she actually LIKES 2 teach. she is totally clear and completely fair. no suprises. She tests on what she lectures on & tells u exactly what she expects. papers are easy. She's a teacher from the old school. the kind u don't usually find in college. the kind that actually teach! wish i had more like her
Very good teacher. You can tell she enjoys teaching and knows the subject well. I highly recommend this class for content and for teaching ability. There are no surprises on what is expected of you on any assignments or tests. Teacher is extremely fair and clear.
WOW!I used to hate history; thought it was boring. Taking her class was enlightening, informative, descriptive, and interesting. No kidding, I love history now. She prepares you for her tests(never leaves you uninformed), gives extra credit, and answers any questions.shes awesome would not recommend anyone else..believe me! You will enjoy her class
i took this class during summer. she is the best professor i have ever had. she's clear and intelligent. you will learn a lot from her. her class isn't really really esay. however, if you do stuffs that were required, you'd be fine. i highly recomment this class. you won't regret!
Really hot, really smart, really energetic: can you go wrong? Papers are easy, you want to learn. Do yourself a favor and take this class! :)
teaches very well, very organized, and helpful. enjoys teaching the subject, but dont mess with her because she wont take ur crap. essay questions are a little dificult.
The best history professor. She gives you clear notes, makes you understand the topic and actually cares about her students. Tests are easy if study, took three classes with her hist 1,2 and 7, two of them in spring and one during the summer. You won’t regret taking her class.
Visco is a wonderful teacher! If your loking to get an easy A take her class. No surprise she tells whats going to be on the test. You can tell that she loves history and knows what she is talking about. Her class can get boring at times. She is also very nice understanding and helpfulperson.Cant take a final/test she will work arond your schedule.
She is very knowledgeable about world religions and she discusses them in a way not biased. I think her tests are not hard. You have to do some memorization for the test though: Define terms and then an essay. She'll give you in advance the exact questions that will come out in the test. No flaws. I recommend her a lot.
Very clear power point notes, only used the book to write two take home essays and for the midterm and final. Good class for those majoring in history but defiantly not a walk in the park. Offers boring extra credit to the Getty Center or Villa.
Her test and assignments are very fair, but in order to do good in the test you must know the martial. So you will need to pay attention and take notes. Overall easy if you study.
This is not an easy 'A' class. For both the midterm and the final she makes you memorize a 3 pg. essay (you write) and 12 other random paragraphs about misc. things. This is possible, but not easy. Also, you must attend EVERY single class, listen and take notes from her booooooring lectures. She's easy on the eyes, but you are bound to fall asleep!
Wonderful professor. Took the class online, and it's not easy, as long as you do your part. Watch the video lectures, participate in all the assignments and discussions. She gives you a choice on questions to answer for assignments, which is a bonus. Paper for final. Do the research/studying, you'll do fine in the class. Highly recommend.
I took Mrs.Visco's online class and got an A. She is a great professor. Take her for any history class that she teaches. Great Professor. Will be taking more of her classes. She has weekly assignments that are clear, a research paper and a couple of discussions. Do the work and you will pass her class with either A or B. NO LESS!
ratings led me to her...but this was the most stressful class of my whole semester...7 assignments (EASY), 2 tests (ridiculously graded) failed both around 50% but still got C because i did all the assignments...she gives out EXACTLY wats on test(1 MAP, 15 Definitions, 2 Essay questions you pick 1) definitions have to be THOROUGH.take if u lik hist
She is great. She is very clear and very easy. She tells you exatly what she wants and it is not hard to understand. She grades her assignments very easy and will help u if you need. DEFINETLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Very competent, professional, highly organized, and HONEST with grading. Passionate about the topic and her students. Highly recommend this professor!!
I took her class on-line, and not being a history fan AT ALL, I really enjoyed it! In our class alone there were 70 students, yet made time for everyone. She answers questions promptly and is quick to handle issues that may come up in class. She is very intelligent, and made this course very interesting. If you do the work, this class is a breeze!
AKA Michelle Visco Lewis. Seems like a very nice lady however tons of work for winter session. A total of 12 assignments with tons of writting and paper 8-10pgs long due at the end.
Prof. Lewis is a truly dedicated teacher. She gives all the material necessary to succeed. She is always available and answers questions promptly. She may be nice and have a great attitude, but don't let that fool you. You need to work. You will learn though. Passionate about what she teaches. Excellent professor!(took her online for 1 & 2)
I took this class during the summer. There were 2 assignments per week and videos to watch but you could read transcripts instead. Her grading was prompt and lenient. She was very nice and it was generally an easy class. There was a 8-10 pg paper due at the end, but it was related to prior assignments so you could use those.
Very difficult class. She is very helpful however. Quick to respond to e-mails. (I took the online class) I do not like history, and the class was boring to me, but she was helpful and I passed. :)
Very difficult online class. Lots of reading, and lots of videos to watch. I didn't do so well, but that was my own doing. Do the homework, write the paper, and you'll do fine.
This online class is a lot of written work, but you will learn a lot of history and pass if you do the work. Be careful of turning in late work as she will deduct a lot of points.
The professors class was very interesting and I was able to learn a lot. She is clear and makes lectures fun. Only a midterm and a final. 5 short assignments and one extra credit. I will definitely be taking her for history 2.
The class was very interesting and she is a great teacher
She is very nice, her lectures are clear. You just have to take notes and that's it, only two tests which are multiple choices and essays where she's gives the questions in advances. You just need to use the book to study for the test. There are five assignments and an extra credit for those who would want to do it.
I had her last semester and she was great! I also thought she was hot, too bad she is married. She is very intelligent and is a wealth of knowledge...
Very clear expectations--she uses a very simple points system, and you know what you have to do to get the grade you want. HOWEVER, it often takes her up to a month to grade assignments, which caused me to lose motivation in the class--very frustrating. To be fair, she did provide quick and helpful feedback for the term paper.
Prof.Lewis is super easy. As long as you do your work as per the schedule, you should be fine. I just completed my history 7 online class with an A and that too with a 100%. Also she is very liberal in adding people to the class and if you wanna get your GE taken care of, I will highly suggest her.
Super easy class...
I took her online course & that class was a breeze,I passed with A+!She isn't a harsh grader at ALL and very lenient on late work.As any online course, text book is a must, DO NOT forget to cite your work or she will take points off & discussion topics could be quite challenging at times. This is the class for you if you want something stress free.
Her class is very easy. However, expect ALL your assignments and discussions to be graded a month after you turned them causing fluctuations in grading because you never got enough of a chance to see what you did wrong. Its likely first assignments will be perfect score the rest 13/15 11/15 etc..
Professor Lewis was a blast! Do expect to work for your grade! Lewis is a fair grader and gives her students ample time to complete their work. She is willing to answer any questions you may have. The reading can be tedious to get through at times but there are a lot of interesting topics discussed in the text that will keep you interested!
Online History 7, Worlds Religions- Was interesting class, lots reading, discussions, & writing assignments each week. Keep calendar for when things are due, not an easy class, lots of work, yet it's do-able. Work is graded w/in 2 wks, can "guess-timate" your grade by div total pts earned by max allowed, so never in the "dark". From A student :-)
Online History 7, Worlds Religions-Great instructor who cares. She spent a lot of time discussing different religions for those who are interested in learning all about the subject. * The book was in-depth but and necessary to pass the class. The quizzes are super easy (vocabulary terms from textbook). Noss, The History of the World's Religions
She is the best teacher ever!!!
She's the best teacher ever. She's willing to help you with whatever you need. Her quizzes are not hard. Gives lots of discussions, but pretty short ones. I enjoyed her class. Definitely recommend her.
I took her in Spring 2015 for History 002. Our grade consisted of 3(?)written exams in class and getting together with classmates to turn assignments in. If you don't do the assignment she gave, you are to leave the class and receive a 0 for the group assignment. She is very kind and will answer any question you have. She is also very pretty.
This is an easy class but it's tedious work if you're not into history of religions cause it can get very boring. Not much work but you won't get any involvement from the professor she's always MIA won't answer messages and takes forever to grade assignments.
Be prepared to write my friend! It is a very interesting class. If you're interested in the tropic (like it was ) it helps, but there is a LOT of writing, and you have to read the entire book. This class definitely feels like a college level course. It's worth it if you have the time.
TAKE HER PLEASE! This is a really easy history class. Five assignments - three questions each, 5 quizzes - she gives the questions ahead of time, its just vocab, five discussions, and one final essay. Its super easy! As long as you do it you will get a perfect score, it doesn't even have to be right. It was easy even in a five week course! Take her
Easy is certainly relative term. But I will say that this professor has a well structured class that makes it simple for students to succeed. As long as you follow her directions and write in a thought provoking way you should do very well in this class. By the way, don't miss any deadlines! No make up work or extra credit given.
Easy class, I love taking online classes and prof Lewis made it a breeze. Be prepared to read and set time to submit work on time. She helps students understand the class very clearly and easy for you to do her work. Would love to take another course with her.
Took History 07 Online. Textbook is mandatory. Lots of reading and writing. Easy grader. 4 assignments, 4 discussion, 1 paper, 4 quizzes. Very organized and easy to follow her instructions. Very pleased and learned a lot.
Took history 7 online for winter semester and her assignments are easy if you read the textbook. However, some people didn't and still received an A. (Scam reading). 4 quizzes (key terms) 4 discussions. 4 assignments each assignment has 3 questions in which you need to input 3 paragraphs for each question (9total) and 6-7page paper about 4 chapters
Took online History 002 and it was very difficult, LOADS of reading, very hard essays, and she is a tough grader. I do not recommend taking this class in the online format. I retook this class as an on-campus class with another professor and I passed with flying colors. Avoid taking History 2 online! You've been warned!!!
Wonderful professor and online History 2 was very clear and organized in the Summer session. Very nice professor and very caring to students. Great communication and responds quickly to emails. If you put in the effort to do your work, you will surely get a great grade! GREAT CLASS!!!!
I took her online class and it was very organized. She requires you to read a couple chapters on the book and then write 3 paragraphs on 3 questions for the homework. She doesn't grade these too strictly but she does require you to cite the book. Just give her exactly what she asks for and you will pass.
Professor Lewis is great! I took her five week history 1 class online. There is a lot of reading, but as long as you do the work youll be fine because she grades fairly. The class consist of 4 assignments, 4 discussions, 4 quizzes which are just on vocab terms, and a 7 page essay at the end.
I took her online History 1, and I'm so glad I did. It was a two month course so the assignments were long, but as long as you do the reading, they are easy. I loved this course. As long as you put in the work, you will get an A. Take her!
This professor is great! Lots of reading but interesting material to read about! Discussions every week and quizzes once a week. 4 simple Chapters and one 6-7 pg essay for final. If you read, and do the work, easy grade. Not a tough grader as long as you do the work.
I took Lewiss summer class and didnt learn. She assigned about 100 pages to read per week. Our assignments were basic questions that needed to be answered in 2 LENGTHY paragraphs and our discussions seemed totally unrelated to the material at hand. Definitely would not recommend.
Online experience is better than most history teachers. Sucks you cannot ask any questions. Class is basically task master. She is neither great nor awful. If taking during short winter/summer terms do NOT take with another class. Her's alone for 5 weeks is truly enough work! I cannot imagine taking another class during summer/winter given workload
Professor Visco Was great! As long as you are willing to put in effort, you will do good in this class. Class is based on 1 discussion, 1 assignment, and 1 quiz per week (5wk online course). I totally recommend taking Prof. Visco!
follow her rubric and skim the reading (look for key words to help answer the questions). all you need to get a 100% on her assignments are 5 sentence paragraphs and a quote every 2 paragraphs. don't leave the capstone essay to the last minute tho. she responds to messages overnight and gives very clear feedback if u don't get a 100%
I took it over the summer, some current reviews made me scared to take the course but it was manageable. She makes it seem as though you have to read 100+ pages a day, but many of the questions asked in the assignments were easily within a few pages of a chapter. assignments are a bit lengthy but doable, quizzes are easy, essay don't procrastinate!
Does not respond to emails!
Took Professor Visco for History 1, 2 and 20, her coursework was clearly structured, and the assignments were fairly straightforward. All of the online courses I took consisted of a Written assignment, and a discussion with a final paper. Would definitely recommend her for a palatable history class experience.
History 2 summer class: 1 unit assignment per week (5 questions, 2 paragraph responses each), 2 part discussion post per week (around 400 words for initial post), occasionally quizzes (easy 100%), no midterms/final, 1 big assignment at the end of the course (4-6 typed pages). Lots of reading/writing, but doable. Show effort and you'll get an A.
Super easy A. Finished the class with 100%. Took it online as an 8-week course. 1-2 assignments a week. Lots of reading, but you can really get around that if you're just trying to finish the homework without much attention to actually learning. Grades quickly. I even submitted one of the assignments late and didn't get points off (only 1 hr late)
This class was CA History. I took it online over the 5-week summer session. The prof is clear with her grading and the reading and work load is very manageable.
I took this class in an 8-week online session. It was a lot of reading, but the textbook was completely free. There were discussions with responses as well as short easy quizzes based on videos, and a midterm paper and a capstone. She assigns a historic themes graphic novel too.
I took this as an online 8-week class. It was formatted much like her CA History class and her Western Civ 001 class with a lot of reading and essay questions based on the reading and easy quizzes based on videos. Final exam is a reflection paper.
I took Professor Lewis' History 001 last winter and just finished the summer History 002 class. Homework assignments require you to write, kind of a lot, but it's nothing too crazy. Textbooks are provided and the questions are not difficult to answer. Follow directions, put some effort in, and you'll earn an easy A!
She is detailed and gives feedback, if you study you will get an A in her class. Participate in the discussions. Doesn't always respond fast, but grading is fair and final paper. And she's nice
