Harrison's 102 class has been my favorite of all my classes. He is so funny and makes learning enjoyable with his relatable teaching style. I have gotten so much out of the class that I am considering switching my major to English. He is very down-to-earth but he gives you university-level essays. The class is fun, challenging, and rewarding.

Professor Harrison is by far the best professor I have taken in any subject. He only asks that you do the proper readings (pretty short) and write 4 essays and a research paper. He does not force class material down your throat but he makes you want to learn for yourself. He is hilarious and always provides a pleasant atmosphere for his students.

Professor Harrison is hands down the best teacher I have had so far at Pierce College. He makes going to class fun, and the environment is very friendly. As long as you attend class and take time to do the readingswrite the essays you will be fine! I highly recommend this class to everyone :)

This class was always something I looked forward to going to. He makes his class a very fun place that allows everyone to be open while learning a lot. He allows students to write how ever many pages they want to write for all 4 essays and he gives you the freedom to structure your essay how you want. Take Him! You'll become a better writer!

One of a kind. I always looked forward to going to class, and it was an 8am! That should say enough. He provokes a lot of interesting and meaningful discussions that can be applied to life outside of the classroom. You can tell that he really cares about the success of his students, and teaches from the heart. It'd be a waste to not take his class.

Great teacher. As long as you listen and have a positive attitude, anything short of an A would be ridiculous. Professor Harrison knows how to make the class fun and interesting but he is just as intellectual and tough as the top professors. first and foremost, professor harrison cares about his students (both inside and outside the classroom). he is very funny and very approachable. he makes class lessons relate to life lessons. he is a true master, especially for developmental English learners. but, he is not a pushover, and he will challenge you to do your best.

Professor Harrison was one of the funniest teachers I have ever had, but his sense of humor wasn't the only thing that made him one of the best teachers I have ever had at Pierce. This guy really helps you understand the depths of English literature and essay writing. Also, attendance is actually important, I was almost dropped for 3 absences.

Professor Harrison is one of a kind. He's got a great attitude and makes the class super fun. He had planned every single minute of the class ahead of time and would motivate the students all the way towards the end emphasizing that it wasn't late to start to make up and "earn" that A. He is a great professor. Very entertaining. He comes off initially as very tough. In actuality he is a very friendly professor who maintains a relaxed environment while teaching. I took him for winter session and everyday I got excited to wake up at 6 am just to go to his class - that's how fun his classes are. He points out the flaws in your essays and he teaches you ways to make your essays better. Because of him, my writing improved. I would really recommend taking his class. Jst do all the required homework and readings

Professor Harrison really cares about you and he will do everything he can to help you when you are having a hard time. He makes learning fun. He's a tough grader when it comes to essays, but that's only because he wants you to improve. Side note: He loves Star Wars and Candies

One of the best. He really does his best for you to understand. He makes you critically think for this class. I took it during winter, so there were 12 quizzes (based on reading), 4 essays, research paper, & one presentation. We used two books: Thinking for yourself 9th edition and Outliers (can be found online).

Excellent Professor. He did more than teach. He help change my life. He brought clarity to preconceived ideas that I've carried with me my whole life. This class requires a good amount of work. However, he sets up his class in such a way that it makes it easy and convenient for the students.

I'm taking him right now and he's great! Expect weekly MICS (quizzes). You'll read three books throughout the semester; Frederick Douglass, Maus, and Animal Farm. He's hilarious and an easy teacher as long as you do the work. I highly recommend you to take this class!

Professor Harrison is a great English teacher, one of the most unique I've ever had. His class is a loooooot of work though, so be ready to read, write, do essays, and present. I didn't like his class that much at first but I warmed up to it, and he has a really hilarious personality so it's hard to not like him. I recommend.

When I was looking for an English 101 class, I was looking for a professor who would make the class challenging and fun. That is exactly what I received. Take his class, and I promise you won't regret it! However, if you are looking for an easy class, don't take it. If you find anything difficult, take advantage of his office hours. He cares. :)

The modules, reading, and essays were a little tedious, but as long as you keep up you'll be fine. I genuinely looked forward to going to his class every day. Professor Harrison was absolutely hilarious. His class was one of the favorites that I took last semester. Along with the readings from the book and in-class analysis, I can't say that his criteria is difficult. His essays were easy to construct and he definitely cares about his students a lot. Would 100% take him again if I could.

Took his class this winter and I could not have picked a better teacher not only was it an easy A(which if it wasnt for his way of teaching I would not have gotten that grade) but he made the early class worth coming too and always made us laugh. Waking up at 8 am was something that our whole class looked forward to, thanks to Professor Harrison. This is not an exaggeration... his quick witted humor and lovable nature is incomparable. Deciding to take a Harry Potter Children's Lit course was the best choice I have made in college so far, and Headmaster Harrison made sure of that.

I highly recommend Professor Harrison. He gives you a lot of opportunities to turn in extra credit, I highly recommend to do the extra credit. His lectures are light, and hilarious. His grading criteria is very clear; he uses canvas, which makes it easy to follow your grades.

Loveedd Harrison's class! I took him for eng 101 and he is the best professor I've had. He's so funny, and gives you lots of extra credit opportunities. Although there is a lot of assignments throughout the beginning of the semester, we got to relax towards the end. He gives extensions too. Final was an easy project, and a potluck on day of final!

The absolute best professor at Pierce. He is just hilarious and connects and cares about his students. He connects the lectures with current events. It is a lot of work but he gives a lot of time and resources, in order for his students to be successful. This was the type of class that you'd be counting the minutes to go back. 100% recommend.

I first took Harrison for English 28, liked his way of teaching so got him again for eng. 101, and then liked him even more so I finished 102 with him. Hes so amazing and cares for his students. You have to buy your textbook and at least read your stories to do your discussions. Do the work get an A, skip canvas assignments? Probably gonna fail.

I decided to take Professor Harrison's Children's Literature class this semester as an elective and I don't regret it one bit. He is an amazing instructor and really cares about his students. He's supportive and helpful. I would take any class that he teaches. His class was workload heavy, but it was all worth doing. The best prof I've ever had.

Professor Harrison is outstanding at what he does. In my humble opinion, he is one of the best teachers on Pierce's faculty. Students love taking his courses, and I can see why. He encourages students to develop their critical thinking, reading and writing skills in a fun environment. I would definitely take more class from Professor Harrison.

This class taught me learn how to write 10-12 page essays. this class is tough, you will work for your grade. 3 ten page essays and one 12 page essay. there is a lot of weekly assignments with quizzes on a weekly basis. You can work ahead and I advise that you do. If you stay on top of your assignments you can earn a passing grade.

He's one of the best professors I had at Pierce. I cannot find anything bad to say about him other than he makes you introduce yourself on the first day. He helps you understand the material and makes you excited about reading a 2-decades-year-old book.

This professor is clear in what he wants, but I would not call his class difficult. You need the textbooks because the hw is based on them, but if you do the hw, that's the majority of your grade. He offers extra credit if you can catch any mistakes he has made. If you do the work (which isn't hard), you will pass. I recommend him for eng101

Met this prof one time in zoom at the beginning of the semester never saw him again. The class had one assignment, an essay, and if you put in a decent amount of work you got an A in the class. The criteria were clear and he gives a lot of room for creativity. I enjoyed the movie I did my essay on and it was interesting to write about.

Professor Harrison is very understanding of the workload students already have. We met a couple of times the whole semester and the single final paper assignment was a blessing. As long as you pour out the purpose and your interpretation of the prompt in more than 5 pages + works cited , you've got yourself an A in the class!

Absolutely great teacher i learned so much when i took eng101 i read frankenstein and he made us write chapter summaries and a couple quizzes but nothing to crazy. I took this class over winter semester and i loved it.

I took him for eng101 and took his again for eng102 this class was a lot harder we had some simple quizzes but our final really effected your final grade. I worked for days on my final essay received an A even though I skipped and failed some of the chapter quizzes haha highly recommend

I could say Dr. Harrison is one of my favorite teachers I've ever taken. Although there was a lot of work to do and if you miss one, your grade would crazily plummet, he's a really cool person. He gives you a chance to earn your grade, you have to prove it to him.

This Professor is truly unique. He provides an option to either complete all of his planned course work or to do an assignment called "The One". This one essay counts as your entire grade. He will allow you to submit it before its due and give feedback on what the grade would be, and allow you to resubmit. If you are a STEM major take this Prof!

Took this during winter (4 week semester) and we had the option to do normal coursework or write a single paper on a piece of media he chose, which definitely is great during the short semester or if you have a heavy courseload. Not the most responsive to questions but does not grade hard.

Super chill guy. You can either complete all the quizzes/discussions on the reading and you're guaranteed an A as long as you complete everything or you can read two graphic novels and write a paper on them that counts for your entire grade. Only one mandatory zoom at the beginning of the semester to explain the structure of the class.

Very down-to-earth Prof here! You can earn your grade in this class by doing one Research Paper/Essay based on two books given by him or you can read and do quizzes throughout the semester and earn your grade this way. In either case, all work is due by the end of the semester so everything is very self-paced. Easy class, Easy A so take this class.

His class was very easy. We had the choice of writing essay or doing small reading assignments.

He gaves us 2 options, one was to read short stories and then take quizes and write a refliction on that.he told us if we just do all these we will get full credit! First of all, believe the reviews. Dr. Harrison is probably the most chill professor I have ever had. One Zoom meeting at the beginning of class and then you get a choice on either doing a bunch of busy assignments or writing one research paper based off two books that he chooses (for our class it was actually two graphic novels).

I did Path 2 really simple and straightforward this guy is the easiest way to get the class credit while doing the least work. Take advantage of the fact that you can edit your post to look at what other people say before you post. Drops 5/40 assignments just do the work and leave no clue about path 1 but for English majors he's the best choice.

You can choose 2 paths: an essay or discussions and quizzes. I chose path 2, and the discussions had you analyze a work and reply to 2 others. He allowed late work until near end of semester for full credit. He didn't comment or give any feedback when I got points taken off for some discussions, you might have to reach out to him to know exactly.

easy A if you choose to do the discussions: main post, reply twice, and follow the requirements. very chill teacher. could do all of the assignments of the semester within 1 week! summaries online for the readings as well, so not much effort. great class!

This course was one of the easiest courses I took all semester. You can do all of the coursework in a single week. He provides the texts for you, and they're actually pretty interesting. My perception of critical thinking and cultural legacies have broadened so much as a result of this course. Take it, I promise you won't regret taking this course

easiest class i've ever taken. you choose two paths: one essay or a bunch of small discussions, you have all semester to complete it. i chose path 2 and it only took a few days. one zoom meeting in the beginning of the course and he makes it clear that if you complete the assignments you will get an A. easy A highly recommend.

The best professor. Explains everything very well. Although English is not my first language, he made it so easy to do his assignments. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! Easiest A you will ever get. The class is based off of two readings that are free and provided for you. There's a weekly discussion post about each chapter from both readings. As long as you follow the instructions for the discussion + reply to 2 classmates you will get an A. Busy work but 100% worth it!

Best teacher ever. There r multiple paths to take in his class, either the typical read and write a discussion every day or do something more important. I took the green or goal path, it had nothing to do with English, it was simply completely a goal u had for yourself and writing like one paragraph on how u achieved it within that class timeframe.

Funniest teacher I've ever had. You have options on how to take his class. Discussions each week (which looked really easy), or a real world question that you talk about with him. His question was about what I wanted to accomplish this semester. I just did what was asked and he gave me an A. Great teacher and an overall easy class.

One of the only non-major related classes I've taken that was worth taking. He gives you 4 pathways to choose from. Notable pathways were the blue path (typical discussions) and the green path. I chose the green path which consisted of me doing an assignment that I would HAVE to do in order to advance to my goal. Got an A and finished PIQs!

4 paths (standard eng, AI, goals, or critical thinking). I chose the green path, so I used the semester to do something towards my goal instead of doing regular English HW. 3/4 of the path requires a Zoom meeting with him. He's genuinely caring and very opinionated. Visiting office hours will do your grade wonders. Easy A & seems very authentic.

He gives you 4 color paths to choose from. Blue is the basic English one, and it seems easy if you just want credit. I chose red, which required lots of research, but when I finished, he had a conversation with me and was just a really cool guy. Not sure he will keep using the same formula for classes, but he's definitely a professor who cares.

LOVED HIM! Sweetest, most down to earth professor ever. Gives 4 paths to choose from, and allows an entire semester to complete them. He truly cares about making sure his students leave having learned or gotten something out of his class. I really really recommend him, he is incredible.
