He is an awesome teacher. Always willing to work with his students. Very funny and very outgoing. Mr. Fernandez is great at teaching and he does it in a way that it is fun and interesting.

I dropped the class in Spring cuz exams wer tough so took class in the summer. I have to say I was soooo stupid to drop Mr. F -- I learned more in three weeks with him then I learned in a full summer. He's tough but really cares about students and now I hear he is starting a radio station for students-- too cool.If you work hard you will love him

Very helpful, if you dont understand he'll take the time to help you out. He will also give you little tips on a one-on-one basis to help you stucture your papers because he wants you to succeed.

Saved money and didn't have to buy another useless textbook. All of the assignments were provided in class and available on line. Grades were constantly updated and posted on line. The instructor was available and helpful. The information was clear and the instructor knows the work. A class I had to repeat but passed because a good instructor.

One of the best professors I have ever had. Its unfortunately not very common to find a professor who knows their subject back to front AND is accomplished at the art of teaching. teacher was clear concise and fun to have. EVERYTHING is layed out and you know exactly what to do to get an A. Its not hard and there tons of extra credit for opting out on the final. 2 papers and no tests makes this class a win

This class was easy. He breaks down the papers that you have to write. Each homework was a piece of your paper. I would take any class that he teaches. Can't find a beter prof.

Mr. Fernandez is an amazing teacher. He has patients, knowledge about what he is doing, and he has an approach toward the subject that makes it so much easier. If your looking to take English 102, take it with Mr. Fernandez and work hard. You won't regret it.

Fernandez does a great job with his class. Unfortunately, essays are formulaic and there is not a lot of work put into "pretty" writing. If that's not your thing, then he's great! Just follow his guidelines for papers and its a no-brainer. Easiest ENG course I've ever taken.

Mr. Fernandez is BY FAR the BEST teacher I have had in college so far! He truly cares about his students success and is VERY helpful in all aspects. He only has us do 2 papers throughout the whole semester compared to the other English teachers that make you do way more. Highly reccommend Fernandez!

If you can get in Fernandez's class DO IT! Do not hesitate! Writing essays and papers used to be something I always dreaded (and sometimes skipped all together), but the way he teaches his classes to construct papers makes it ridiculously simple. You only have to write two papers and there's no text book as well. TAKE THIS CLASS! AWESOME PROFESSOR!

Yes, he's good, but he's also a very hard grader. And it's NOT 2 papers! You have 4! Two write in class papers a first paper and a whole final exam essay with and two bigger papers. I recomend the class but if you think it's going to be easy and hate writing like I do you are in for a bad surprise.

Excellent professor. He's very willing to help given the student is willing to listen. My only dislike was that some extra credit points were based on group projects. Other than that, I don't think I would have enjoyed ENG102 more with any other professor.

Had him for Horror Literature. The class is great---you get to watch scary/classic horror movies a majority of the time. You write 4 papers (a compare and contrast, an analysis, and two tracker sheets). Overall not bad, but don't expect to not do a paper and still pass the class.

This guy is awesome. Do what ever you have to do to get him, you won't regret it. The way the class is structured makes it really easy to succeed.Easily the best English teacher at CGCC.

Alright I understand some from the comments below, but he is a tough grader, but it pushes you. He asks you to work hard and give it your all, and in turn he helps you and really builds your confidence in writing. He's not super easy, but he's not hard. I took him online and really liked it. He responded promptly to my e-amils and was respectful.

If you want to learn how to really write a paper, in an organized manner, take Fernandez. He is difficult so if you just want to pass ENG 102 stay away from him. I personally payed all that money to really learn something, and he delivered.

This teacher is amazing, ignore the negative comments (only if you plan on not doing any of the work and pass the class). He is the most helpful teacher out there. I am by NO means a good writer at all. I failed the 1st paper and still passed the class with a B because he helped me get an A on the final paper. You'd be a fool not to take his class

This class is has one of the highest drop out/repetition rates.Fernandez is a great professor. He tells you what to expect, and if you do well you will pass. Hes quite understanding, and will do what he can to make you pass the class. :).

Awesome teacher! Explains material exactly how he expects it to be done and gives examples. Takes each paper step by step. I hate to write but I actually enjoyed writing his papers. He is very helpful if you ask. I recommend him 100%!!!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. This teacher was one of the most helpful teachers I have had in years. Covers all the material and tells you exactly what you need to do to get a good grade. You just have to do the work as asked, if you get stuck he is more then helpful.

This is the 3rd class I've taken with Migs. He is seriously amazing. Do not hesitate to take 1 of his classes! There's a TON of reading for this course but it's all really interesting &I found new authors I really connect with. It's not hard to get an A if you just do all of your work as instructed, on-time. I wish he could teach all of my classes!

I absolutely loved taking this class from professor Hernandez...by far one of the most amazing, caring, and passionate professors I have ever taken classes from, he is by far the beat I have had in my college career. Material is easy, just have to study and invest time in the class, it's well worth it :)

I recommend any student to take his English classes, especially those new to college. While you may dislike the class, he wants to help you succeed. He gives out a lot of extra credit points and is a pretty easy grader. He has pretty much has a road map to every essay, so it's pretty clear what you need to do.

I took his online class. He is very helpful. Doesn't require textbook. He responses to your e-mail in less than 2 hours. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunity. Gives all the ail the info you need. I would take him again if I could. He's that awesome. I recommend to take any of his class. He's the best.

FAVORITE TEACHER EVER! Learned how to write a great paper and he was by far the most helpful teacher I have ever had. Could talk to him about anything and he would always have advice. What a great teacher. Very fair and lays out the class on a schedule that is very easy to follow. No final and no tests. Just writing and if you follow the rubric and get help there is no reason not to get an A in the class. It was a great class.

He works you hard, but hes never too busy to answer and email or makes you feel foolish for not knowing something. He's funny, knows everything, really wants you to pass, and doesn't hurt that hes hot too. Im registering for his next class right now.

Seriously the professor everyone dreams of. He makes you write 3 papers. 1 is extra credit the other to are research papers. He is all about student success. He has conference days where you can bring in your paper and he will edit it. He gives you an option to get out of the final and it is super easy i got all my extra credit from coming to class

Miguel is by far the coolest English Professor I have ever had. Show up to class, use his conference days as a benefit to yourself. Very few show up so you get one on one time with him to review your paper and make changes as needed. Only a few actual lecture classes to help develop your paper. I highly recommend taking him.

This guy is the homie. Teaches you everything you need and answers all emails as soon as possible even if its none school related. He's like a dad you caould dream of.

Mr. Fernandez is amazing! This class wasn't easy, but you'll survive if you have discipline and time management. He is SO clear on assignments and expectations and if I had any questions (which I often did), I e-mailed him and 90% of the time he replied within an hour and patently explained until I fully understood. Also, he's very encouraging!!!

Fantastic teacher. Has a great way of teaching. You can always go to him if you have any questions even about business! He teaches ENG 101 and 102 so i would recommend signing up early because his class fills up fast

Prof Fernadnez is not easy but is always fair and will work with you on your papers. He doesn't waste your time. I needed to finish my classes early because of starting a new job and he helped me find a way to do this. He is like a coach and actually looks like one with muscles :) I feel I actually learned something in this class.

I can't say enough good about this teacher. He's the best teacher I have EVER had hands down. No wonder his classes fill up quick, he even has a wait list!! He is clear, easy going and compassionate. I took Miguel for English 102 and ENH110. He is an excellent teacher who wants each and every student to succeed. He responds to emails quickly, is clear about how he will grade, and even gives you examples of papers from the past to help you do well on your own. I got an A in both of these classes and highly recommend him as a teacher.

I took his online class, it is a lot of reading and time consuming but if you do the work you have to get an A.

This class was one of my first online classes and it was really nice because the teacher would get back to you in a timely manner if you had questions. Also there is homework, but all the answers are in the handouts he gives you. It isn't hard if you take the time to read and do your best.

Take his class! I hate English and I loved this class. Homework is not busy work, it is work that you should be doing for your paper anyway. You get a grading rubric for the papers. Everything was very clear cut and simple. He'd also tell you if you actually needed to be in class on a given day.

I really like this Class and the professor was great I actually wasn't able to get in this class at first because it was full, but i asked the professor and so quick and easy as he gave me the approval to be in his class. All I can say is make sure you keep up with the work you get weeks time so knock it out as soon as possible.

Mr. Fernandez is a no bs type of teacher. He explains exactly what needs to be done, and is open to answering questions or giving help. The class is great because he's hilarious, but also let's you know how it is. It's really easy to get out of the final, just don't miss any quizzes. Overall, he gives you everything you need to pass.

He's an easy grader as long as you follow his directions. If you're a decent student, he'll help you out with extending assignments if you need to. Overall good teacher and makes things simple!

Dr Fernandez is one of the best teachers I have had. He is even allowing me to submit work early and finish his class ahead of time because I start a new job soon out of state. He is funny and will help you out one on on. Worth taking.

He really cares and works one on one on anything you are interested in to turn into a good paper. Mr. Fernandez is an excellent teacher. He's funny and don't let his muscles or paper assignments which are tough scare you because he really is nice to every one and easy to talk to for any question. I would strongly recommend you take his class.

He is hands down the greatest teacher on campus. You have three essays that he guides you through. He has a system where students who get 7 extra credit points and above don't have to do the final essay. I got 16 points of extra credit so no Final Essay for me, and it boosted my HW average as well since I went above 7 points. Take him, seriously.

I would definitely recommend taking this class! He always lets us out early and we only have to do two major essays. If you do everything correctly you should be fine. We also don't have to buy any books for this class. It is hands down the hardest class to fail. He really is a great teacher and is very entertaining!

If you want an English teacher who's going to work with you, grade fairly, and help you wherever you need it, then this is the guy for you. He also looks like Vin Diesel and he's ripped so if anyone tries to hold your class at gunpoint, I would bet money that he'd be able to take them down. For the sake of your grade and your safety, take from him.

Great teacher! Very easy A. Gives you many opportunities to get an A in the class. You don't have to show up to class if you do not want to. You have 10 quiz's that if you get 80% on them you do not have to take the final. If you miss 2 HW's in a row you get dropped. Very generous grader.

Mr. Fernandez is funny and very clear. Answers all questions. No textbook. He gets really good information from a place called Valley leadership that worked also for my sustainability class where I got feedback about really good sources. His classe are tough but I actually feel I learned skills that I will remember and use in real life

This teacher is literally the greatest english teacher I have ever had. He makes everything super easy to understand. He is very specific and clear about the rubrics for essays. Basically tells you exactly what to write. You will not find a funnier and more entertaining, but useful class.

If anyone wants the best possible experience in ENG101&102 I highly recommend this outstanding professor, his instructions are clear, he's funny and entertaining, he his NOT biased whatsoever, and last but definitely not least, he is Vin Diesel's doppelgänger.

I took Mr. Fernandez for his online ENH110 course and it went pretty good. The class wasnt hard at all there's just a bit of reading to do. All the exams are really easy and most of the answers are on his handouts! You also have the choice of skipping the last essay if you manage to get 900+(A) points without it, that was pretty great to be honest.

This professor wants to see you succeed. It is very clear through the way the class is set up that he understands you have a lot on your plate and don't need another thing to be stressed about. There is hardly any homework and the few assignments you have will help you so much with your paper. I was scared to take ENG 102 but I passed with an A.

Professor Fernandez has you best interest at hand. He pushes you to do your best and is right by your side if you need any help. He grades fair and offers comments if there is something you missed or if you were right on target.

Do the homework, theres only 2 major essays and if you get 7 extra credit points then you don't have to take the final. Simple as that. Hands down best teacher at CGCC!!

Love Love Love Miguel! First off this class is so easy. Literally 2 papers and 10 hw assignments total. As long as you get 7 points of extra credit you don't have to take a final, and there are so many easy ways to get extra credit . He so nice, half the time got out of class early. Super clear grader and ended up with an easy A! Would take again!

He is very knowledgable and cares about the students. ENG102 I had to write 2 papers and the 1st paper was the same paper I used in his ENG101 class. 7 extra credit points no final.

Professor Fernandez is great at what he does. He's hilarious, and he really sees English 102 from the student's perspective. In other words, he won't waste your time teaching you a bunch of things you don't need to know. He give you what you need, and it's all very useful for other classes. If you can, definitely take him.

Took this class online and honestly was very very easy. As long as you do the work, it will be an easy A, but you have to work for it. Great professor and always willing to help if you need it. The tests are open book and come directly from the notes and handouts if you read them! I would reccomend this class to anyone!

Miguel Fernandez is hands down the best professor I've had at CGCC for the 5 semesters I have been enrolled. He is straight forward with all the information and I swear he responds in minutes of emailing him. If you struggle with writing his papers are a breeze! He is very lenient with topics of papers. Every paper that you write you pick the topic

Professor Fernandez is a very straight forward guy. He gives you all the tools to write a proper essay, and guides you through every step. All of your homework is part of each essay and keeps you on track to finish your essay on time. Even if you wait until the last minute you shouldn't be overwhelmed by the work.

I would highly recommend Mr. Fernandez! He is very direct to the point and won't waste your time. You have more than plenty of time to do assignments which aren't made to trick you very difficult at all. He lets you negotiate with him on assignment due dates and how things are graded.

Skeptical at first since I hadn't known it was military themed, however this was a great online class that gives you plenty of time to succeed.

You learn about literature through some very good military related stories and videos and books which worked really well for me because there was nothing boring about it. I took him for 102 and now for ENH110 and this was the best decision I could have made.

If you are planning on taking ENG 102 and don't know what professor to pick, PICK FERNANDEZ. Hands down best teacher I think I've ever had. TAKE THIS CLASS! You can tell he is one of few teachers who truly cares about your success and treats you like an adult. You can just turn in your assignments online and only 2-3 classes are really mandatory. Emails you back right away with helpful feedback and if you get enough extra credit you can skip the final. Only 2 essays so do your best.

Miguel is the best teacher on this campus. Period. Took him for both my ENG 102 and ENH 110 classes. Provides great extra credit opportunities such as early submission and in-class competitions. He is very funny too. His ultra-specific rubrics are a little much, but you will get over them if you actually read it. All-in-all great teacher.

One of the best professors I've ever had, there is no such thing as a boring class with him. The workload is easily manageable and the paper requirements are more than reasonable. There is no "filler material", everything is relevant to the major papers. He replies quickly to emails and cares about his students. You will WANT to go to this class.

If youre looking for a class that will hold your interest take this one. You can tell he cares about every student he has and the material he is teaching. The assignments take a little bit of time to get done but you have more than enough time to do them. He responds to emails quick and will help whenever you need it. One of the best profs at CGCC

I took Fernandez's online literature class and really enjoyed it. I took it after taking ENG102 with him and thought that taking his literature class would be a great way to complete the AGEC requirement. No regrets at all. Had a military theme so I learned more than just the required literature. I highly recommend any class by Fernandez.

He is the one of the BEST teacher in CGCC. Only 2 papers through semester optional Final. A lot of EXTRA CREDIT. More like a friend than a teacher. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED :)

Took (online) ENG102, got an "A" (100 on both papers). 2 papers, outlines for said papers, and lots of checking strength of arguments. He gives good feedback on papers, and is responsive to emails. I do think he cares about his students' success. He's also open-minded to different/non-typical paper subjects.

Yes, he really is as good as all the reviews. I have never had a teacher like him who actually cared if I was tired or not feeling well. He teaches with no fluff and everything is about learning to be better at papers but is funny while doing this. wish he could be my dad. Very best teacher.

Recommend! Great teacher. Always accessible and will patiently answer a million questions. Friendly, runs a fun class but keeps things on-track. Not much fluff work and extra credit is easily available. Earn enough extra credit and theres no final. Grades fairly and papers are returned pretty quickly. The military and veteran experience influenced in a regular literature course turned out to be one of the best experiences I have had at the college level. If you are a veteran or a civilian I think you will walk away from this course a person with a broader view of the world. I really enjoyed all the different types of readings for this course.

This literature class was one of the best classes I have taken in college thus far. There was a military experience theme to the class that I really enjoyed. I learned so much from this class. I took Professor Fernandez for my 1st semester of college, and he was so good that I followed him all the way to Williams Campus to take him again. Everything in these reviews are super accurate. He doesn't give any fluff work, he mixes in humor into lessons and makes things interesting, and most importantly, he grades impartially.

Prof Fernandez is an awesome teacher! The class itself is a little boring, a TON of reading, but if you do the reading the homework is fairly easy. The exams are a bit tough, but overall not a bad class. The professor reaches out to you quickly and confirms he received anything you submit. He will work with you if you need it and reach out.

Prof. Fernandez is one of the BEST professors Ive ever had! No busy work. Treats you like an adult. Easily accessible & will answer any/all questions. Engaging & funny in the video updates he provides. Tailors the class to fit his students needs. No book. Do the work & youll pass. Easy class. Youre crazy if you pick any other professor!

Mr. Fernandez is by far the best professor I've had. He gives amazing feedback, replies quickly, and actually helps when you need it. There are many extra credit opportunities that are very simple to do. This course is an easy A only 2 papers and the homework are very easy and are all apart of your papers, so they keep you on track!!

I have always hated writing, but he made it extremely simple for me. The weeks homework would all work to build up to our final papers so by the time came to write it, we had the sources, outline, and all the resources we needed. The discussion posts worked to help us understand real content and what is fake reliable sources.

I really enjoyed him as a professor!! I took his online Literature class and yes, it was a ton of work. However, he allows so much time for you to complete the readings and discussions. As a full time student, I was able to balance his heavy work load with my other classes. He gives good and fast feedback. He always was clear with his instructions.

If you need English 102 and want to take it online, take this class. This class is totally doable if you are talking multiple classes. Professor responds quick to messages and grades in a timely manner. Fair grader. Read the rubric and the materials given the first week of class (print them out!) and you will succeed.

Always gives great feedback even when I had a question about an assignment. You will read a good amount in his class but he finds a good balance of reading and assignments every week.

Professor Fernandez is one of the best English professors i've had he works with you he is very understanding if you need help on anything he will help you and he has a lot of patience for students. Definitely recommend taking him if your gonna do ENG102.

If I could give him a score more than 5 I would!! He is such an amazing professor and if you take your time to understand and do each assignment, you cannot fail. Quick responses even after "school hours". The class is essentially 2 papers and the assignments prior will be a part of the paper so it wont be much work when it comes to writing it.

Professor Fernandez is an absolute gem! His online ENG102 class is super manageable - just a few papers with helpful assignments leading up to them. I found unstuck AI and ChatGPT super useful for preparing. Definitely take this class if you need an easy A!

If you fall behind, the amount of work in this class can easily become overwhelming. If you stay on top of the assignments, the class is a breeze to work through. This semester testing the usage of AI was interesting but made some of the assignments pretty fun to work on. He grades incredibly fast and gives good feedback.

Professor Fernandez is a great teacher. Not only were the essays themselves straightforward, but he also gave excellent feedback on all the assignments. I would without a doubt recommend his ENG101 class.

Professor Fernandez's class is amazing! The only thing that was scary to me at first was that the Canvas made it seem like we had so much more work than we did, but that was not the case. The coursework can be tough, but it isn't that bad. Everything we went over in this class felt useful and applicable to the world. He is a great professor!

If you hate writing, feel that it is painful, or that you aren't good at it, TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He doesn't play around with fluffy writing. He lays out all of his requirements for the two essays in the the Rubric and he doesn't grade off of any unsaid rule in his head. Email him anytime and he'll reply very fast, even within 5 minutes.

Awesome teacher, please take him for ENG 102, he's one of the few teachers that wants you to succeed
