I have to disagree with the comments on Professor Moreno. Not only is he a good teacher, but if you actually pay attention you might learn something. This is the best Astronomy Class to take, but only if you REALLY WANT TO WORK AT YOUR OWN PACE! I can't stress this enough. He is a great teacher and an understanding person.I wish more were like him.

This is a good class to take if you have been avoiding a science class! this class is an easy A if you participate, do the work, and keep a positive attitude.

I have enjoyed being at USC for my Astronomy 1 class with Dr. Moreno very much. Visiting USC twice a week for lecture has been a wonderful experience. An experience that through Trade Tech and USC was made possible. I recommend him. He was a great professor.

Dr. M. A. Moreno is a man that loves to teach students about the Stars. He has worked for NASA for many years. A very good source of information. Yes, he is human like we all are. But, the benefits of taking his classes can not be measured.

He makes physics fun, you have to turn in all your work typed up....but you learn a great deal. He is very clear and he worked for NASA. I think that is a plus because he knows things u cant learn in a classroom, and he shared that with the students. Not like other instructors that because they "cant," they teach. The best class ever!!!!

Dr. Moreno is a great man. He was very helpful, class was pretty straight forward. The amount of homework that he assigns is a lot and it does very little for your overall grade but trust me when I say it works when it comes to the test. You do the reading and your homework and the tests come easy. The fieldtrips are fun. Highly recommend him.

To all the negative reviews: I graduated USC at age 21. If you guys can't handle a community college class, then maybe go back to kindergarten because you'll never transfer to a big school =)

Dr. Moreno is an extraordinary professor. What makes Dr. Moreno a great professor is that he goes beyond his call of duty in terms of helping students and holding office hours. He is extremely knowledgeable about physics and knows how to teach it well. Dr. Moreno understands the students and at all times is willing to help students succeed.

Dr. Moreno is an intelligent, considerate and thoughtful man, but his better days as a physics instructor have long since passed him by. Still if you need the class to complete a requirement for your major and could give a fig about physics, then by all means take his classes. You will not learn much, but if you put in minimal effort you will pass.

In a nutshell, Dr. Moreno's classes are self-learning experiences where he consumes three hours of classroom time and really does not say much of any importance that is not already explained in more detail in the textbook or through online sources. I recommend getting coffee or a snack during his 30+ minute breaks to keep from falling asleep.

Another fantastic semester of physics with Dr. Moreno. The highlights included the trips to the Griffith Observatory and USC. Also, the super easy final and mid-term exams, along with the lack of any organization or continuity in the material covered from class to class made for an enjoyable semester. Expect to watch a number of movies and videos.

What more can I say, another easy A and more transferable credit compliments of Dr. Moreno. I essentially stopped doing the written assignments in September and only took the mid-term and final and turned in a large portfolio on the last day of class. For those who received C's, I am not sure why since he gives you 80% of the answers to his exams.

Make your coursework book really thick at the end of the semester and come to class every day. Attendance factors into your grade. Tests are highly curved. 3 grades in the class: Midterm, Final and Coursework book.

Dr. Moreno is a good professor. If you don't like teachers babysitting you about homework and studying and would like more freedom to do your work, then this is the professor to take. But do your homework because lectures are more like discussions and lounge time. Tests are not easy but they are from the book. He's a cool professor.

I highly recommend any course with Dr. Moreno. I took both Physics 6 and 7 with him. I received an A in both classes. HE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER TAKEN. he is a real easy teacher and really understanding. don't miss too much class, buy all his books, and just do the assignments. a friend did all the work in two days and turned in the portfolio and got a B in the class. he does show interesting things though, class was fun at USC!

I took Dr. Moreno in the winter, the class was a lot of work(lab. Reports) but I did enjoy the field trip to the observatory. Dr. Moreno is very helpful, smart, nice & goes over the work. I recommend his class.

Dr. Moreno is an exceptional professor! Everyday I learned something new! The class is structure, respectful about time and shows very interesting videos. This is there best professor your will ever have at lattc because he was a former NASAL Scientist for their Hubble Telescope and he's Latino a huge plus for the Latino community and takes his students from latte to usc and teach there his lectures are very inspiring and cool field trips like NASA/JPL Cal tech and then griffin observatory great guy!

Being at USC was a good/bad experience. I like that I got to attend one of best universities in the country, except I wasn't feeling the campus vibe. Besides that, the course was great! I wasn't interested in science prior to taking the course(GE requirement),but I now plan to major in a science related field. You want the grade, put in the work.

Being a first generation Chicana to attend college Dr. Moreno exposes students to doctoral students. He really cares about all his students and really pushes students to pursue a graduate program. Having Dr Moreno for Environmental Science was a great opportunity the lectures were ok but the assignments were not that bad than what i took in spring 16 astronomy 1 at usc as well and yes his work is demading but worth it iam glad i took his class now this fall of 16 ima take his astronomy 5 lab and iam just in high school Dr Moreno is a good

I really liked this instructor. It seems like he loves what he does (astronomy). I liked that he took us to USC and let us experience their campus. He is very inspirational. If I could I would take another class with him, but I already took astronomy 1 (A) and 5 (B).

I took Astronomy (lecture and lab) with Dr. Moreno. I took Astronomy 1 in the Summer (2017) at LATTC and I took Astronomy 5 in the Fall (2017) at USC. I really liked both classes and if I could take both classes again I would. The lectures are based on the textbook he wrote (he worked for NASA). He encourages students to further their education.

Due to COVID-19, his class was online. Doesn't know how to use Canvas so the formatting is confusing and extremely disorganized. INSANE! AMOUNTS! OF HOMEWORK!, no definable due dates, and no one can finish the HW within his due date span cause it is way too much. He is knowledgeable, extremely caring and understanding, so it makes up for the rest.

Dr. Miguel Moreno is one of the best professors in LACCD, I just completed this class now-summer 2021. I believed the participation of all of us as students makes a difference in class. He engaged all the students, answered all our questions. He was available for all of us after class and during his office hours. Take Dr. Moreno is my reccom.

I just finished Dr. Moreno's class for Winter 2022 and it was great, Dr. Moreno is very respectful of the class and our time. And YES he gives a lot of homework but he makes it very easy to get it done and is very willing to help out.

I would highly recommend this Professor to anyone who enjoys Physics 103. His lectures and homework assignments are informative and beyond the scope of the class. He is very understanding of his students and dedicates his office hours to helping out students. Definitely the most respected Professor I had yet in this college and enjoy attending.

Mr. Moreno was the best summer professor Ever! Every class was interesting, yes it's mandatory to attend but only because each class was something that came up on the exam. Do not buy the books, you won't use them. He does assign a lot of work but if you pay attention to his instructions (which can be confusing) it is actually easy! Sometimes he even provides you with the answers. Mid term and Final are very hard but again, pay attention to the reviews, he always gives you the answers!
