Attendance is MANDATORY! If your absent more than 3 times he lowers your grade by a letter. After two tardies its considered one absence. His assignments are easy just make sure you ALWAYS attend class and are NEVER late.

This was an easy class, but more importantly, he did a great job of exposing the class to the importance of art. Don't bother buying the book, I never used it. Print and memorize the exam study guides with names and dates (easier than it sounds), and turn in all assignments. He has very low standards for essay format and content.

He was the best professor Ive ever had! He truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He will work with you as long as you communicate with him. Hes very understanding. the class is easy but the way he teaches his art class was inspiring and eye opening. I was able to apply his teachings to my everyday life. im super grateful.

Great professor. Going to ask questions and will expect participation from everyone. Lectures every class but found them to be interesting. Will give you a chance to turn in late work at first but will not accept it towards the end of semester. Interesting class, highly recommend!

The professor I had was incredible. He would go over numerous paintings and numerous pieces of vocabulary we should know about in his class. He is an extremely good listener and understands everything about art. This class changed my life in numerous objectives and highly recommend him just in case if you need your Art credit in college.

He is a good professor, and the class is exciting, with very few assignments. However, he doesn't always answer his email right away, and there are sometimes issues with due dates. Other than that, he is a great professor and very in-class. I would recommend him to anyone.

Professor Valenzuela is just amazing on the concept of art! He makes objectives simple to comprehend and understand! He allows you make your own piece of art where presenting is on the vocabulary words provided! The final consists of vocabulary words, and pieces of art as well! I would heavily recommend this professor if you need to take Art 1301!

This is a good class to take I would take it again he is really nice and the work is fun and easy to do all he asks is to participate in class and you'll learn a lot!

Amazing professor would take again!!

Very easy class, he does use a textbook, but we only used it once, so if you're gonna get it I recommend you get it online since you really won't need it. Gives extra credit regularly, his work is very easy, and there are no loopholes, just straight to the point. The work he gives out is mostly essays, but they are pretty short.

I would highly recommend this professor to anybody who is interested in learning about the fundamentals of art. He is very easy to talk to, reachable, and very passionate when it comes to art. I would say thats a great quality a professor can have when teaching and might help a student really learn more about the subject at hand.

Great professor! You can tell he's passionate about what he does and encourages his students to participate in class discussions. He's very understanding, like when there were issued on blackboard. Only downside of the class for me was that it was a requirement for us to go to a museum, but he does tell you in advance.

For presentations he's not a harsh grader. The professor seems to care so if you talk to him he can work with you if there's any issues.

His class is very inspirational; I think everyone should take it regardless of their major. You learn a lot of vocabulary and about historical paintings, and you also get to do some drawing assignments and visit an art museum as well. Overall, the assignments are fun, and you learn a lot about yourself too.

This class was great, the professor did everything to try and get people to speak and engage in class. Very creative and knowledgeable, encouraging us to view the world as art. I wish I had taken this for a normal semester, I had it during a minimester, I enjoyed it and learned a lot about myself and art.
